It’s time for Dirk Koetter to take his 39 freakin’ games of head coaching experience and outcoach the hell out of Ron Rivera on Sunday.
It’s time for DirkMagic!
Yes, Joe is a Dirk Koetter fan. Does that mean Joe thinks Koetter is among the great head coaches in the NFL? Absolutely not.
But Koetter is unafraid to make bold decisions, good and bad — and he’s certainly a guy who’s proven he’s open-minded, unlike his predecessor.
So now what?
Now it’s time for Bucs fans, Team Glazer and everyone watching to walk away from Sunday’s game and say Koetter got everything from his team and put the other head coach to shame.
And Joe absolutely believes Koetter has it in him. But it must come out now.
Koetter has said in various ways that his Bucs just need to put together an all-phases, complete game. Well, batter-up! There’s enough talent in the house to have that complete game translate into a “W.”
Sunday is the Super Bowl for Koetter and the 3-4 Bucs in so many ways. Every last person at One Buc Palace should understand that. If they don’t, shame on them. Shame. Shame. Shame.
This game should be approached like it’s the first Sunday in February. Koetter needs to find ways to force his entire coaching staff and roster to live that reality immediately.
A 4-4 record with a 2-1 mark the first time through the NFC south is solid start and a strong foundation. The alternative is a steaming pile of crap worthy of scorn.
Joe is yearning to type a “DirkMagic” headline on Sunday afternoon. Nothing would be sweeter.
The Bucs have it in them. Dirk’s got it in him. It’s really time to see it.

WOW its okay to wake up now Joe, this team and coach are not playoff contenders. To many mistakes and bad coaching along with injuries will make it impossible for this team to even win 8 games.

Just read article that confirmed in bucs 40 year history or so.
A quarterback that’s been drafted by bucs has never got a second contract. We need to develope one of these guys at some point Geez. Or pick the damn right guy for a change.

Dirk had better win this game, or he should be immediately fired. The guy is not head coaching material, and that’s been obvious since the Denver game in year one when he quit on the team, when late in the game when the Bucs are down by two scores, they finally have the ball in Broncos territory, they have to get something out of the drive or the game is over, and he instead punts the ball. He literally threw a hissy fit because Jameis threw 2 INTs against what was then the best defense in football (and they had played Carr and Luck and Newton, I believe, in the prior 3 games all of who turned the ball over twice). Post game Dirk said he punted because they hadn’t moved the ball all day – regardless of the fact on the prior play they had picked up big yardage on an Evans catch (if mem is correct). He quit on the team and threw a fit – that’s who Dirk is. He’s the same guy that last year tried to quit on the team when giving a speech before the Carolina game saying “if” I’m here next year, and “if” I’m around when the Gruden rumors were at the max and Jameis had to give him a pep talk.
If this backfires, if the Bucs lose and Fitz plays like Fitz, then he should be fired. Which is a shame because I think he’s a good OC and I said all last year the solution, in my opinion, is make Mike Smith head coach, get a legit DC, and move Dirk back to OC. Use assistant head coach titles, whatever you need, but get Dirk out of the HC role because he’s not head coaching material.
But the Glazers don’t really fire people during the year so I’m figuring he’s around till the end of the year. But Jameis is the most important guy here and you can’t allow some coach throwing a hissy fit to throw off the future of the club, so in my opinion you fire him, although without Mike Smith still here I have no idea who you put in charge.

It’s clearly obvious the whole team is behind Fitz from the way the team responded after Fitz went in last Sunday.
It’s obvious too the team plays harder and they believe in Fitz
THIS IS NO LONGER Winston’s TEAM…… it’s now ot FITZ team.
If the Bucs somehow manage to pull off an upset this Sunday, you’ll see a renergized team and it may pull everything together.

Panthers arent some great offense but they do run ok and bucs cant stop the run and they do pass to olson well & bucs have never covered a TE, the panthers defense is pretty good and have a great kicking game, good news is spread went from 6.5 to 6 so some big money ppl think fitzee will keep it close

I thought Dirk had it in him, but when he chose to kick a field goal rather than going for a first down and then chose to waste a timeout and give the Bengals more time to get down the field to win the game and so many other bad game management decisions and the poor management of Jameis Winston a record setting young qb, Dirk needs to go. Jameis needs a new head coach

Dirk’s track record against Carolina speaks for itself. Odds are that Sunday won’t be pretty……..even a crazed whino could tell you that.
There’s a reason we call it magic in Tampa. We darn sure know it ain’t skill. Sorta like our last win coming off the benefit of a 59 yarder by one of the worst kickers in football.

Bucfanin……horrible take. Their defensive line smothered us that entire game. What were we 0-6 in the redzone?…..One, maybe 2,of those failed attempts was when our Oline couldn’t quit jumping offsides.And that’s what happens when the other team is coming at you and you know you can’t stop them.
I don’t know what league your watching but there’s no way you should win any game when you are dominated up front that badly……..And yes that game ended on a QB sack…..at least three of our lineman got beat off their block on that play.

That play was on a short yardage play………And yeah I know we actually made one goalline stand against the Browns but I defy you to name another time Dirk’s team ever made one. Truth is our defense was never gonna stop them there anyways. The proof is in the pudding.

Give them a chance. This is a different team with duffner and a different team with fitz. Now they get to combine powers. The defense is only at half strength and worlds better. We need to get healthy , then we can put together complete games but we can still compete and win

And if you want to compare to last year’s games the better example would be to look at the first game……sadly it was the home game.
That scenario was close to the one this week because we had a poor record coming in but it the our first division game of the season and we could have quickly gotten back into the divisional race. It was a very pivitol game for us.
So what happened? We got waxed!! And looked plenty bad doing it.

No one wants Koetter to take over and win more than every Buccaneer fan out there. I am baffled as to why he is unable to control things on the team. Every coach in history has been held to a higher standard. This team needs his support and experience as he is the head coach.
Koetter has seen the Panther for many years. There are no surprises. Go out and beat them, Dirk. 3-5 is essentially over. A 7-2 run will get you in the playoffs. We’re waiting!

Don’t like our chances against next 2 teams – both powerful running teams. We will lose close games due to bad defense and extremely poor kicking. First game is in Carolina and I can’t remember last time we won there. Redskins in the next game are playing well.

they beat us both times last year…and in our home game we looked really sleepy throughout, and the stadium was silent with crickets sounding off…
in 2016 we beat them both times – so it’s not like we can’t play with this team…we swept them in 2016…they swept us in 2017

I say we are all way too worried that Jameis won’t pan out. He needs to sit a little while. I say we win this as the team in rallying around Fitz. Our defense plays a little better and we score at will. 31-20. Then we destroy the Redskins, 38-17, I don’t care how well they are playing, we go no huddle from here on out and show people how talented this team and organization really is. I say we start to click like we did 2 years ago when we won 5 in a row and almost made the playoffs. No one can keep up with this offense even if our kicker is 19th in FG percentage, is there no one out there to bring in for a tryout? I understand this is a weird year for kicking but he is 10-12 in FG’s. That is better than anyone we have had in the last five kickers. Keep it positive!!!! Go Bucs!!!

suggestion, please dirk, if you win the coin toss, do not differ, take the ball put it in fitz’s hand go down and put it in the end zone, make the panthers play from behind the whole game, which will take away their run game, and if you can get a stop or two and go up by 14 then it’s got to help duffners D, not saying change what has worked for ya, just do not be so damn predictable, tweak what you do, and do it just a wee bit differently, which will keep carolina off balance, everyone knows this is the pivotal game of the year, win this game and were sitting in a sweet spot with the next three games against weak opponents, i know the bucs have it in them, now is the time and dirk will look a whole lot better, coming off a win in carolina, go bucs, go dirk, go fitz, keep the faith

For the first time all year we will have the D line healthy and be able to rotate 10 guys in. I think the D steps up and we know Fitz can throw. Bucs 31-17.
