After 27 first-half points by the Bengals and an early extra-point miss by Chandler Catanzaro, what did you expect?
At the least the Bucs made it interesting. Very, very interesting. Nobody writes a soap opera like our beloved Buccaneers. Or perhaps “tragedy” is a better description of the drama.
Yes, Joe will have plenty to say about the four interceptions by America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston. Ugly stuff.
It was so bad Jameis, the franchise freakin’ QB was yanked in the third quarter for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who sparked the Bucs in a hurry. But it was too little too late.
Two quarterback hits all game for the Buccaneers defense. That’s beyond terrible. They hit Mitch Trubisky and Ben Roethlisberger more often. Both hits were sacks by Jason Pierre-Paul, who now has eight on the season. Eight!
The defense did a lot of great things again but they’re just not making enough plays, not forcing turnovers. And the lack of speed by M. J. Stewart at nickel cornerback continues to hurt badly.
Too many dumb penalties and too much playing not to lose.
Heroic effort by Mike Evans and pure magic by Fitzpatrick went to waste.
It’s a Bucs life.
Stick with Joe and Ira Kaufman for loads of postgame coverage.

But today was on him. Those INTs were his mistakes. Most of them were not even forced in any way. One of the worst games he’s ever played to be honest.

Three good drives squandered and six points for Cincy all on Jameis. The defense played too hard too long in the second half to have anything left for that last drive.

Second Half D was lights out…without those three and outs no way we stay in that game…just came up a little short.

Long defended Jameis. No more. Dude doesn’t have what it takes. Trade him for whatever we can get at the deadline this week and start Fitz with Griffin backing him up. Prepare to draft a QB in the draft and get the franchise headed in the right direction. Im a Florida State Fan and I so wanted Winston to succeed but it just isnt happening. Today was beyond ugly. His decision making is poor and his character issues have hurt this team badly in public perception as well. Its time to move on.

Huge Jameis supporter but it’s time to just end this. I am still convinced he’s going to be great but it will never be here. Time to move on but rest assured we will still suck either way. What like 6 offsides by our dline. Marpet with 3 penalties, defense still sucks out loud, no RG at all, RT is about done, no explosion at RB and our kocker is horrible. Other than that we’re great!

Jameis played terribly today!!!! I’m a big fan of Jameis and hope he starts some time in the future and wins lots of games for us down the road should we decide to help him but i’m all for Fitzpatrick for the rest of the season.

That had to be the worst game of his career.
I get it if they stick with Fitz for now. He operates best as the hero. But it won’t last.
And Winston IS the future. For whatever reason, he’s not the same after his suspension. Maybe all the negative press got to him. I don’t know. But after that, he needs demotion for at least a few games.
The offensive line is horrible right now. I don’t get it. They played so well at the start of the season. Now they are completely falling apart.
As to the defense, we need a lot of help. MLB isn’t getting it done. May as well put Bully in there to get experience.
Chandler Catanzaro needs to go. He has now missed 4 extra points and 2 field goals. He is the worst player on the team. If he had made his kicks, we would have seen a different result today.

I want to believe Winston will become the “franchise” QB we all want him to be. It just might not be in him. In the red zone I cringed because I knew we where going to either score or turn it over. Even Brett Farve was more conservative with the ball. I just cannot see us getting to the Super Bowl and winning with Winston. We might not be able to get to the postseason with him under center.

I have tried to have confidence in the Winston, Dirk and Jason regime. But today’s game kinda nailed the coffin for me.

JL – your best trade was JPP. But draft picks there were opportunity to get Derwin James (who wanted to be a Buc) and I am no FSU homer, it we picked a guy with low impact on the defense, also had some better cover corners that actually intercepted the ball in college and we went with CB with no INT, how does that translate to the next level, Our CBS have no interceptions

What game are some of you guys watching? Our defense played well today against a really good offense…on the road…and with their QB continually spotting their opponents with points and field position.
I haven’t seen any stats yet…what was time of possession in the first half?
How many three and outs did our D force in the second half to give us a CHANCE to pull this out. Yeah hurray for the Fitzmagic it was FUN to watch…but there was NO chance for it without a solid second half from our D!!!

I’m still backing Winston he still a good quarterback he had a bad day just like every other young quarterback and old quarterbacks. But the national media hate Winston so much they are not going to give him a chance. But Winston will be alright he need to leave this poor franchise and this poor fan base. Now Andrew Luck have had games like this more than Jamies. But they love Andrew Luck and they hate Winston. But Winston or any other quarterback can’t play not to make a mistake cause this will happen every time . Fizpatrick don’t play like that now cause he knows his time is done in the NFL.

And that’s why I think rookies should have the right to choose who they want to play for . Winston and Marito went to some bad teams and bad coaching staff that can effect a young quarterback growth. But Winston is still young he will go win somewhere else if he gets the right coaching. Look at Matt Ryan when Dirk K left. Look at Goff when Fisher left . I think coaching is the problem with our young quarterback. I think BA would have been great for Winston the coach from Arizona. So who going to be the next victim at this piss poor franchise and fan base.

I’m surely not defending our rotten kicker but as it turns out his missed extra point did not impact the game since Fitzmagic was able to get it back at the end.
BTW how about that move by Fitz where he evaded the DL on the two pointer…jumping into the air and letting the lineman run by him and then drilling the two pointer.
So here’s the laughable part…Fitz haters keep talking about past inconsistencies while claiming how much better JW is…
I understand that concern about Fitz but do folks here really believe JW will ever throw as consistently as Fitz.
