Buc1987, I want him back in the 4th game too, but if you think about it, he isn’t the only one who has to be ready. The WRs have been playing with Fitz for 4 weeks. The oline has been blocking for a barely mobile QB for 4 weeks.
They all have to adjust too. So I think it depends on practices and injuries.

I still hate the new uniforms, I think it’s safe to say they’re ugly, not popular and aren’t growing on anyone. That was just a great hit on Godwin, knocked the ball right out of his hands. Sometimes a defender just makes a perfect hit, I think that was one of them, if Godwin had made that catch it would have been incredible, you can’t possibly expect that.

Absolute cowardly coaching by Dirk, the defense ALWAYS gives up points when you punt inside the 40, it happened over and over and over again last year and Dirk, being a coward, does the same thing over and over and over again.
It’s not 1978. Stop running the ball to setup the passing game and stop punting from inside the opponents 40. The Eagles sort of set an example people should follow. The deal with Fitz is outside of one throw in NO, he’s been perfect, which is obviously, to any non-melonhead, unstainable. You can’t make every throw and think you can do that all year long, obviously that isn’t going to happen. It’s expected that Fitz will return to the norm of his 14-year career and when he does so he’s at best an average turnover prone QB. That is to be expected and you ride him for as long as he stays hot. The tipped pass was his fault since he tried to sneak it over a d-lineman, but more concerning was when you watch the replay he didn’t have anyone open. Also he’s missed like 3 throws tonight, that’s 3x the total of the 1st two weeks. That tells you he’s returning to his normal self as you’d expect, but I’d be more than happy to be wrong.
In any case can Fitz punt, that is what Dirk needs to know, if he can punt you can have him punting from shotgun and really catch the Steelers off guard.

Y’all need to relax. I still believe in Fitzpatrick. The guy has still made some damn good throws in this game and had some great passes dropped. The guy has a maturity level and a response to adversity that I haven’t seen from Winston yet in 3 years.
Everybody has bad games. Not saying Fitzpatrick is our future; obviously he’s getting toward the end of his career but at the end of the day the only important thing is that we win.

Going for a FG, weak. The fact that the Bucs 2nd round draft pick is a healthy scratch for the 3rd week in a row with how bad our running game is a stain on Jason Licht. What an embarasssment. The magic appears to be gone, and no matter who starts against Chicago I’ll be rooting for him. Fitzpatrick didn’t WHIFF on a tackle and get stiff-armed for what became a 75 YARD TD for the Steelers. That was on CONTE and really changed the momentum of the game.
Fitzpatrick didn’t fumble and give the Steelers more momentum with a short field which led to another TD. That was GODWIN.
Fitzpatrick didn’t drop a TD in the endzone that would have made it a much closer game. That was GODWIN.
To put this blowout on Fitzpatrick is ridiculous. He’s had some bad throws, and yes had a pick six from his own endzone (he was under massive pressure with a hand in his face), but he’s not the reason we’re losing.

Bucs are done for the night. They laid a golden goose egg (like they usually do) on national TV in front of a national audience. Defensive secondary has been..MANHANDLED. And Fitzmagic has all but disappeared. I felt sorry for Conte on that 1st Steelers score. He got Jacked!! I mean it was embarrassing. I’m sure that will be featured throughout sportsland. When will Mike Smith be held accountable. I wish I could be as bad at my job as him. If I was on the Mike Smith job plan. I would show up at 10. As soon as I get to work throw in a big fat dip. Sit in my chair surf the internet on today’s happenings until about 11:30 then take a 2 hour lunch. Then at about 2 pm do some work until around 4 and say I have to leave early my son has a runny nose. Go home take a bath and read joe bucs fan for an hour get out of bath smelling luxurious then go pick up my son. Wife comes home says how was your day. Say honey it was crazy my boss needed a lot of work done ASAP. Worked my butt off barely made it to pick up our son before daycare closed. And I had to hear it from my co workers that I make more money and they do all the work. Can you believe they would think I don’t work hard at my job. There are only 32 people in the world that do my job and for the 3rd year in a row I am the worst at it. But there are 100 million other people who can’t wven do what I do. It’s like playing madden against a friend and just picking Tampa cover two every play and wonder why you can’t beat them. Koetter grow some balls and fire your buddy. If you don’t trust me the media will have a field day with you for not doing it. We already know that jameis will be are qb next week despite all these haters thinking he won’t. I am sick of finally getting a prime time game and every year we shot the bed. That is coaching. We are being out coached by a guy that even Pittsburgh’s fans don’t want. Did koetter take over offensive play calling. How hard is it to adjust that they are playing safeties deep could some quick slants happen in this game. The ball went a mile over Evans head, had nothing to do with the route. That was all Fitz. The pick 6 was all Fitz. The first INT was mainly the O-line. Fitz also took a sack to get us out of FG range, and has missed a couple open guys with underthrown passes. He’s made some good throws, like the dropped TD to Godwin and the step up in the pocket throw to Godwin on 3rd down and the toss up to Mike Evans.
This loss isn’t 100% in him, but he is killing the momentum of this team. Time to pull something out of his hat in the second half or it’s back to the bench. And I’m a huge fan of Fitz

There is no way Dirk isn’t calling this game, either that or he gave a script to Monken to run, because this was the same garbage we’ve seen from Dirk for 2 years and not the offense we saw in weeks 1 and 2. The run up the middle into a stacked defense is a staple of Dirk’s offense and something WE DIDN’T DO in weeks 1 and 2, yet we’ve been doing that all game long. You let Fitz start next week in Chicago, Winston has been able to practice at all and it’s a short week followed by a bye. Give Fitz another chance to see what’s there, plus, in Chicago, with that swarming defense, I’d rather have Fitz taking all the hits. Being 2-2 after 4 weeks is much better than anyone could have expected and the season gets much easier going forward.

The best defense is an offense that can score 40, been saying that for weeks. Trade for L Bell, there is no way to fix this defense during the season, you need corners and no one is giving up a corner, and you need 2, plus another starting safety.

It’s not all on the defense. Too many turnovers, and too many mistakes on offense contributed to this loss. Those three picks could have been TDs or FGs, which would have made a huge difference in the end.

You could watch the first first down of this drive and 10 times out of 10 you will see the most obvious hold ever. How that mysteriously gets missed is amusing at best. I will admit that Tomlin is a 1000 times the coach that Dirk is. Twice we don’t get in the endzone from inside the 10. Dirk, knowing his offense is superior to our defense and the weak sauce punts it.

The people defending punting there have zero feel for the game. Yeah I know, that’s what Bear Bryant would have done, but Bear Bryant didn’t have this Bucs defense which had exactly a 0% chance of stopping Pittsburgh on back to back drives. Pitiful cowardly coaching by Dirk, to take the ball out of the hands of his hot QB and instead let the defense, who hadn’t done anything all night, to get the ball back, even then with maybe a min to go and terrible field position. The play was to go for it, if you don’t get, keep them to a FG and then you still have a chance.

Of course the local media will not press Dirk on that at all because that’s what the coaches handbook says to do, you punt from the 36 and you punt with under 3mins left, because that coaching handbook says that’s what you do, and if you don’t follow the handbook… well… that’s too horrible to think about. You always follow the handbook, always. Anyone that questions following the coaching handbook, they’re just rabble rousers and probably terrorists, so just follow orders and always punt the ball. Always, because that’s what the book says to do and no one doesn’t follow the book.
