Dirk Koetter Must Be Furious
September 23rd, 2018There must be a leak on Dirk Koetter’s tight ship.
Consider what the head coach said Friday afternoon and then again on Friday night — and then what happened today.
As Joe wrote earlier, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is trumpeting to the world today that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start next Sunday against Chicago and until he screws up badly. The decision has been made, presumably because Dirk Koetter thinks Fitzpatrick gives the Bucs the best chance to win.
However, Koetter was asked by local media Friday about the eventual quarterback decision and among other comments, Koetter said, “Why would we tell Chicago what we are doing?”
Later on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Koetter was asked about the QB decision by 85-year-old NFL scouting godfather Gil Brandt.
“C’mon, Gil, you’re killing me here,” Koetter replied. Adding that “next week is next week” and decisions like that “are all things that we worry about next week.”
Well, either Koetter changed his mind on passing on information to the media and helping out the Bears, or he’s got a bad leak in the organization. Joe suspects the latter.
Regardless, Koetter can’t be happy about this bit of alleged news swirling around the NFL world. He clearly didn’t want it out there now, especially before he’s even had a chance, per NFL conduct suspension rules, to tell Jameis Winston personally.
September 23rd, 2018 at 3:33 pm
Or it could me the national media trying to mess with the Buccaneers mojo
September 23rd, 2018 at 3:40 pm
You mad bro???
September 23rd, 2018 at 3:53 pm
Chicago game still looking like a good game. Definitely going to be in town for that one.
September 23rd, 2018 at 3:53 pm
If you thought Jamies Winston was starting week four than you have either missed the last two weeks or are just to stubborn to admit Fitzpatrick is the better QB at this time.
September 23rd, 2018 at 3:54 pm
I don’t understand this. Would you need to play a completely different style of offense if you start Winston? This is where Koetter makes himself look like an amateur coach. I Insteon has played Chicago the last two years and kicked their butts. There’s plenty of film on Winston. There’s film from two games on Fitz. This is just stupid to pretend like what you will do is up in the air with how well Fitz is playing.
Sounds like Koetter is real insecure and not confident in this teams ability if your worried about who the starting web will be. I dont see this advantage of not knowing who will be named the starter. Fitz honestly looks like a faster runner than winston
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:04 pm
Come on Aints and Dixie Chicks… please.
TIE..TIE….. TIE!!!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:04 pm
Um…a thought just occurred to me.
If Koetter plans to start Winston in Game 4, would it be of benefit to make the Bears think Fitz is starting? Just a thought.
Also, no way would he really commit to this. Not until the Thursday or Friday before the actual game. Not only would it give up an advantage, but anything could happen that week.
Fitz could throw 4 picks against the Steelers.
Fitz’s knee could become worse.
Fitz could have horrible practices.
Winston could look fully ready.
Too many considerations to make a commitment right now. Therefore, I think Glazer is taking a risk and making a prediction…sort of playing the odds.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:08 pm
Haha Jbeach……watching this shootout not sure who to root for. Tie never occurred to me. Good call.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:10 pm
I thought all along that the Bucs would be stupid to start Jameis on a short week for an away game. I don’t know that what Glazer said goes further than the bye week.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:14 pm
JimmyJack.. yeah!
Good game tho…. Daints D backfield Obviously lacking this year . You think?
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:17 pm
1) No need to rush Jameis back until week 6 at the earliest. I wouldn’t want him coming in on a short week against a good bears defense. Give him some time to get comfortable and in sync w/ the offense.
2) Since a tie is hard to root for, we should be rooting for the Saints, since we already hold a tiebreaker over them…. This way, worst case scenario, we’d be in first place in the NFCS, with a tiebreaker over the Saints (head to head) and the tiebreaker over the panthers (better conference record).
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:18 pm
Here’s hoping that both defenses play good for the 10 minutes of OT…
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:19 pm
Yes the Saints Defense was drastically overrated. #2 WRs are going to destroy them all year. Meanwhile the Falcons look like the worst tackling team in the NFL.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:22 pm
I’d still rather see the Falcons win despite the obvisous advantage celly pointed out.
I could see the Saints defense coming together, especially upfront where they have nice talent. Meanwhile I’ve always liked the way we matchup with the Falcons.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:24 pm
That Brees running touchdown was a good example of bad tackling…
It almost looked like he was afraid of hurting Brees.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:26 pm
Ginn TD was a broken tackle……and as I’m writing this missed tackle on Michael Thomas.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:29 pm
Ship him to San Fran. They need a qb. Keep Fitz and another flyer for next year. Get Tua 2020.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:30 pm
Speaking of tackling it is the single most improved part of our defense this year. Has gotten very little pub but has been a a major factor to being 2-0.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:49 pm
Jesus Christ! What happened to the “were all in it to win it?” attitude. Everybody should be thrilled where this team is at. Who cares if Winston returns or not. I just want a playoff season and so far so good. This website is doing what the so called “biased media” is doing trying to create controversy where there is none. You guys talk about how you’re so “against ” media biased yet participate in it. Come on JBF.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:53 pm
No way Glazer actually knows anything and no way Dirk has made any proclamation internally about what he is doing for exactly this reason. No story here.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:55 pm
Obviously the Glazers found out how much it would have costed to Uber Jaboo to Soldier Field and decided to just bench him until the next home game.
September 23rd, 2018 at 4:57 pm
I don’t believe Glazier for one second knows what is going to happen.
He is just speculating.
Horrible stuff that the media does these days.
He has no source.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:00 pm
Guys the media do not want us to succeed!!!!!! Jay is just trying to spin the news yarn just like the others I get what koetter is talking about he don’t want this as a distraction it’s not about who’s starts he’s trying to get his team ready for pit so right no f/:; da bears we worried about pit we need to still stand together keep the foot on the petdal it’s us against the world
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:01 pm
Fake news is called fake for a reason.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:01 pm
Jman, are you really that stupid or just have no idea what goes on in the NFL outside of the Bucs?
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:06 pm
Off subject but hey Joe do you think Tampa should go after leveon bell now that the Steelers have said they are open to trading him?he could be what this offense needs to take the league by storm. Say next year’s 1,2020 & 2021 2nd rounders? Or Dare I say…..Jameis?!of course I don’t wish that nor will it happen but still..
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:10 pm
So Joe thinks that Jameis had his camp leak this?
Why else would you have that caption under the photo?
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:12 pm
Whoops! My bad joe, misread the caption.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:18 pm
El_Buc941 – The Steelers would take Ronald Jones straight up, they just want rid of him, no way the Bucs would give up anything like what you’re saying for a guy who is a FA at the end of the year and wants the biggest RB contract in history by far. Also the answer is yes, the Bucs should do this since the defense is going to be terrible all year so their only hope is to outscore opponents. Then again Licht isn’t going to do anything. He should, but he won’t.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:25 pm
I know what Seattle did with Wilson on a rookie deal. Tua would get two. Great (refuse to spell your name with numbers like an idiot.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:27 pm
@Joe … “Well, either Koetter changed his mind on passing on information to the media and helping out the Bears, or he’s got a bad leak in the organization. Joe suspects the latter.” Don’t personally think it’s EITHER Joe. We’ve all seen too many times in the past where the media goes on a fishing expedition (no REAL idea what the truth is) in the hopes that someone will confirm or deny (which they often do). Suspect that Koetter in fact has already made up his mind to start Fitz (barring injury of course), but no way he tells anyone (except Monken of course). He’s a lot smarter than that, and no way he’ll take the bait.
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:27 pm
Glazer’s source is probably a Glazer 😂
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:44 pm
The Bears know Fitzpatrick will be starting, let’s be real. Why in the world would you start JW without any practice? He won’t be ready!
September 23rd, 2018 at 5:50 pm
One other explanation…..FAKE NEWS!!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:03 pm
This is all about generating controversy to cause clicks and ad revenue. Conspiracy News.
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:38 pm
Go get Bell, He is the missing piece this offense needs. We have to out score other teams to win.
What yall think would be a good trade for Bell?
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:41 pm
Rod Munch, why on earth would you want Bell here? Seriously, you are riding a high now and then add this malcontent in the locker room? Sorry, but I’ll pass.
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:45 pm
Griffin to start MNF now.
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:51 pm
Rumors such as these often leads to someone being traded. Fitz is on a one year deal so Koetter knows the bucs can only fit one of them under the salary cap.
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:52 pm
I totally agree that Fritz should start against Chicago, but after that Jameis should start Week 6 after the bye.
September 23rd, 2018 at 6:58 pm
If you believe in jinxes….
Fitz will prolly go out and throw 2 pick 6’s and a couple more INT’s to boot on MNF.
I don’t believe in jinxes…..but.
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:17 pm
JabooBuc – Why would you want the best RB in football on your team?!? LOL! Put down the crack pipe and sober up. Anywho a 2-0 start doesn’t mean the Bucs are slotted for a deep playoff run, they need to actually win games. Guess what, if the Bucs lose on Monday, then go to Chicago and lose (where they always lose) and the Bucs are 2-2, everyone is going to be panicking and that locker room “vibe” is gonna be gone.
Dirk and Licht have their jobs on the line and there is no way to in season rebuild the defensive backfield, no one is going to give up corners with any value and the Bucs would have to destroy their draft to get people. Meanwhile you can get Bell for pennies on the dollar and try to outscore people, and to give you a running game since you’re not passing for 400+ yards every week.
It’s obvious why you’d want Bell, but as I said Licht won’t do anything, just like he didn’t do anything at corner this offseason to bring in a vet to win now.
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:25 pm
Off Topic
I hope Jason Licht is on the phone trying to get Leveon Bell. Our run game needs to improve. Quizz needs to be upgraded.
On Topic
Most likely it’s stating the obvious. I’m pro Jameis starting, but I understand staying with the hot hand. Jameis is going to get his shot. Not worried about that.
I don’t get some of the fan base talking about trading Jameis. Let me get this right. You prefer Ryan “no season snaps” Griffen to start if Fitz get hurt. SMH.
Or trade/ cut Jameis and wait “two years” for Tua whom we may not have the opportunity to get. SMH. It’s wiser to keep the Qbs we have then get Tua.
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:30 pm
Sorry Munch but you’re sorely mistaken if you think the Steelers are trading Bell for hot garbage. If that were the case the case he would be long gone.
As to your other point about the corner position there’s absolutely nothing wrong with building that position with youth.
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:34 pm
Not there yet….yeah an amateur coach in first place nfc south
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:40 pm
@Rod Minch@Jimmy Jack@JabooBuc i doubt they (Steelers would take RoJo for Bell, as for you other guys (Jimmy,Jaboo) what the flying heck have y’all guys been watching the past two weeks?! We are 2-0,FIRST PLACE IN THE SOUTH, POSSIBLY THE #1 OFFENSE IN THE LEAGUE!!!Bell would make this team UNSTOPPABLE!How would teams defend the pass and run?!
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:49 pm
El_Buc941 – I think the Steelers would take just about anything to dump Bell at this point – he’s a FA after the year and he’s not coming back. Also there are very very few teams in the NFL that have a glaring need at RB and would be willing to pay him and have the money to do so, that limits your market severely. The only way the Steelers would get anything would be if there was a bidding war, and a high second rounder isn’t exactly trash.
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:53 pm
would the bucs go all in for this year and trade Winston for bell? I don’t think we should, but that should work for the salary cap.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:02 pm
Why the heck are we even talking about this. . . The Steelers are coming to town tomorrow – get your head our of your butt and concentrate on the next game or ur gonna get ur butt beat!!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:06 pm
Munch come on. It’s just common sense that the Steelers wait to see if Bell either comes back or if somebody gets desperate and give them a good price.
Why in the world would they take next to nothing for Bell when they can get a decent compensation pick when/if he leaves next off-season? Please answer that for your point to make any sense.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:13 pm
I have zero faith in this guy. El_Buc941, have you been watching? They are lighting up people in the passing game and are 2-0. The running game will come when teams try to adjust. Bell would not have done anything above and beyond Barber in the first two games other than possibly draw more attention from defenses. I would agree that is an advantage but not at the price they would have to pay.
They can do it with Barber.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:15 pm
@ Rod Rod Muncher
That’s a lot of ifs there.
I mean what if all 3 QBs tear their ACLs and we don’t win another game?
Just stick to nob gobbling
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:15 pm
Sounds to me like something djax would do. Not unlike crashing his truck with a half pound of weed in his truck but then again wtfdik
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:20 pm
JimmyJack – A high 2nd round pick isn’t “next to nothing” and it will be higher than what they get as a comp pick. No NFL team looks a preseason and says a guy is a bust because the o-line in front of him is doing nothing and he’s playing with 2nd and 3rd teamers. As for Bell showing up, the players in Pitts have made it pretty obvious they don’t want him back – and they have a guy who has looked excellent. Also when I said he’s not coming back, I meant next season, yes he will come back this year, possibly in week 10, and no, the Steelers can’t wait until then since the trade deadline is way before then. If you have him coming back and he doesn’t want to be there and is just playing out the year knowing he’s not going back to the Steelers, that is something that can really mess with the locker room. Again, if there’s teams out there willing to give up a 1st, I’d be shocked, since you’re not only giving up a 1st for an in-season guy, you have to give him a contract for $15m/year or he doesn’t play for you either. That makes the market for him extremely small. From the Bucs side they could perhaps throw in Brate and his $7m/year deal as well (who is off the books next year if they cut him) to help balance out the money, but I’m not sure if that’s a must or not.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:21 pm
Reality_43 – Yeah, because saying what if we’re 2-2 is a lot less likely than going 19-0 and Fitz staying hot all year, right dope? LOL!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:23 pm
It was obvious, and Glazer went with it. Nobody leaked, these insiders got to scoop the other insiders
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:24 pm
this is exactly why I did not spend 4000 dollars I have no interest in watching a qb who happens to be having a great start lead the team I cheer for. So its just a matter of time before this guy implode I know it the Bucs know it trying to catch lightening in a bottle for an entire season ridiculous!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:27 pm
Capt. Blighe – Or he just does what the rest of the media does and make stuff up using anonymous sources. Also who doesn’t know that Fitz is starting in Chicago, at this point Fitz needs to throw like 6 INTs on Monday to not start in Chicago – then if that happened the story would be that the Bucs planned on starting Fitz until he self destructed. So you make some headlines by reporting something that obvious, then you use your fake new prediction as proof that you have sources so your future BS has credibility.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:28 pm
Munch, your own comments should indicate why you should not want him here. His current team doesn’t want him there anymore. Again, he’s a malcontent who’s to be trusted about as much as we can trust JW. Actually, i have more faith in JW then i do this guy.
He’s the type of guy that will collect the cash and then shut it down. I’d rather have someone hungry to earn a check and win then another diva.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:29 pm
Yeah the Bears are dumber than all of America Dirk. Dont get that nonsense of his. Doesnt take a genius to figure out who will be the QB on a short week when the team is at least 2-1 having played the toughest opening 3 games of the super bowl era, or whatever its been. Cmon Dirk have a pale ale with your meathead buddy n relax!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:30 pm
Sorry dude ROJO has no trade value at this point. He has no trade value to any NFL team. But especially Pittsburgh who has their own rookie running back who is playing very well.
Just do me a favor and scroll through the history books and let me know the last time a rookie(or any player for that matter) was traded who had absolutely no NFL film and was nothing but a healthy scratch.
And he is absolutely not worth more then a comp pick because that pick could yoeld a player who would not be a healthy scratch.
Shaun Wilson has more trade value right now.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:31 pm
Somebody wanting ROJO in a trade? That’s the silliest idea I ever heard. maybe try to come up with a better idea and throw beckwith or LDVs name in there. I can’t even begin to imagine where you came up with ROJO.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:34 pm
If the lions lose this game you may want to offer Detroit a 6th round pick for Blount. He cost all of 2 mill per year. Spotract says the Bucs have 5.9 in cap space (if I’m reading it correctly) so that’s more that enough.
Maybe make an offer for clayborn too. Lol. He 4mil against the cap. #Genius
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:35 pm
Let’s fabricate a controversy to kill a season before it has even really begun. It’s pretty apparent the local media just can’t handle success. They puff out their collective chest and try to act like their colleagues in New York. Matter of fact I bet most of the local sports reporters here are from the northeast. Let me be frank, this is a small market team with a small market fanbase that should be treated a little more delicate considering it’s volatility. It’s not New York where all reporters usually behave like @ssholes, and fans are born into tradition. Give Koetter, and his players some room to breathe. Jameis is still a part of this team and should abide his time while Fitz is hot. Don’t listen to the white noise Jameis just soak in all you can. Your time will come again.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:37 pm
Jameis isn’t going anywhere. So many of the fans who actually go to the games do not want to see the team give up on him. Come on it’s a Bucs family and we should be cheering for our entire team! Go Bucs and I’ll see you on Monday night!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:39 pm
But Eric what would you do if you were the head coach? Just think two weeks ago you were on the hot seat.
Even though everybody said we would start 0-3 it wasn’t just because of Fitzpatrick they would have predicted that with Winston also. Now we are sitting 2-0 and looking great doing it. You would risk losing that momentum and perhaps even your job by taking out the quarterback that’s leading you right now?
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:48 pm
I think y’all are too worried about the running game…….which is a good thing I admitted.
But I think it’s too early to tell. We haven’t called a running game and haven’t needed one yet.
I’m waiting to see us in a game where we go somewhere close to 50/50 run pass in the first half……I say first half because we have(basically) put the first two games away early and where in a “milk the clock” mode in the 2nd which is a different situation.
Make no mistakes we are not attacking with our run at all. Only with the pass.
Our running game hasn’t been tested yet IMO
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:51 pm
Correction……. Our running game has been tested an end game situation and failed. But that’s nothing new. End game situations are somewhat similar Too Short yardage situations both of which we’ve always been bad at. I’ve come to accept the fact that will always be bad in those situations under Dirk……. My Hope Is that the defense can at least win their battles in their situations.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:04 pm
JimmyJack, stick with him but there is no way I’m waiting until he completely implode and he will he is Ryan Fitzpatrick the minute he start showing signs move on!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:06 pm
I hate knowing we’re going to give Fitz a starter contract. It’s been done a million times before and always backfires. But if that’s not a Bucs move, I don’t know what is.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:07 pm
Bring Bell to Tampa please
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:19 pm
Eric I can totally agree with you there. I’m a huge Winston fan myself but Fitzmagic has captured my 💓. To see an old man given one final try for his career and do what his doing leaves me speechless. The guy has shown us how much heart he has for the game. I’m very proud of Ryan. I’m proud to have him as a Buc
I guess it’s just a perspective thing. Some folks love to cheer for the fastest guy or the stongest or most athletic guy. For me I love to cheer for the guys with the most heart and will power and Fitzpatrick has it(plus he’s Irish)………And for the record I think Jamie’s has that same heart and will power for the game. And I believe he will prove it by embracing his role when he returns.
And yeah, I know Fitzpatrick might taper off and get pulled but either way his time here has been a success and he has been one of the funniest Bucs to follow over the years IMO.
GOOO BUCS!!!!!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:23 pm
I don’t think it’s crossed Coach Koetter’s mind. By now everyone has known for 6 days that on Tuesday morning Koetter will say:
“Ryan Fitzpatrick is our quarterback.”
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:53 pm
Throw Fitz to the Bears so Jameis can come back with practice time and not get hurt by the Bears daunting defense.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:56 pm
Bucs fans. Note if the Bucs beat the downtrodden Steelers tomorrow, we will be ranked the best team in the NFC due to our conference record (over the Rams.) WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Let’s Go Bucs!! I need a sandwich ASAP Bucs fever is taking over control!!!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:58 pm
BucEmUp Says:
September 23rd, 2018 at 7:34 pm
Not there yet….yeah an amateur coach in first place nfc south
Seriously? One loss may change that….can’t believe how stupid people sound 2 games into the year thinking it matters that we are 2-0 there 14 games to go dufus. Unbelievable how desperate bucs fans are they can’t even be objective.
September 24th, 2018 at 12:23 am
Not to be Debbie downer but what happens if Bucs lose their next 2 games – they will be underdogs in both and a very real possibility
September 24th, 2018 at 2:11 am
JimmyJack to be honest we haven’t been a good team at goaline / running the clock out situations since Cadillac was healthy or Maybe even back to Alstott. I guess Blount was good at running the clock and grinding out yards, but he never did well in those goal to go / short yardage situations.
September 24th, 2018 at 4:18 am
LOL! Ronald Jones is getting hit 7 yards behind the LOS by 3 opponents when playing behind a 3rd string offensive line – and because of that he has no value, despite being a 2nd rounder on everyones boards. LOL! You fake news drama queens crack me up and you’re the same dopes calling Justin Evans a bust last year after preseason game 1, and the same dopes saying D Smith was a bust his rookie year because you read a rumor saying he’s “lazy” and you’re the same dopes saying D-Jax had to be cut, etc etc etc. Ronald Jones has trade value, but it’s not even about his value, it’s about saving face and getting a return. The teams that can afford to trade for Bell and sign him to an extension is short, and it’s teams like San Fran and Cleveland that just signed RB’s to big deal and are unlikely to be in any playoff run and thus aren’t going to give up much. I could certainly be wrong, but I really don’t think so. In fact I think Pittsburgh would pull the franchise tag right now and get nothing if they didn’t think he’d immediately go sign with the Patriots, which is most likely what he’d do. Pittsburgh also is very unlikely to trade him to any team with legit playoff hopes in the AFC, so that takes a team like Indy off the plate. When you do the math there isn’t a big market for Bell because of his contract demands, yet the Bucs can get it done because of the way they do contracts and the flexibility they have to dump guys next year.
But as I said to start this, will any of it happen? No. It’s all just speculation but in the end Licht doesn’t have the balls to pull off a deal like this, just like he didn’t have the balls to get the Talib deal done or the Quinn deal done. He did get the JPP deal done, so that’s good, but he also probably overpaid considering how cheap Quinn went for – not that I’m really complaining all that much, just pointing out how cheap guys are even if you don’t happen to think they are.
September 24th, 2018 at 4:23 am
Did you guys see that Bears pass rush. Gruden really stuck it to the Bucs trading Mack to the Bears, who already had an up and coming defense. On the road, in Chicago, a place they rarely win in, playing a team with a swarming pass rush… that game might go very very poorly. Hope not, I hope Monken has an answer for it, but we still need to try to win this Pitts game, which is another team we never beat at home (but do OK on the road strangely).
Anywho even if the Bucs are 2-2, who doesn’t see that as a huge success based on preseason talk? Hopefully that won’t be the case, and no reason to prepare for the worst at this point, but for those that already are, keep your head on straight and realize 2-2 going through that 4 game stretch, that would be quite good – and if they’re 3-1 or Allah be praised 4-0, then we know Fitz or Dirk or someone sold his soul to Satan.
September 24th, 2018 at 5:08 am
Week 3 begins the implosion- it a law of the universe- franchise is a circus and it’s time to fire these clowns out of the cannons!
#BlameJameis
September 24th, 2018 at 5:31 am
Tua> Jameis
September 24th, 2018 at 5:34 am
Trade for Russ Wilson
September 24th, 2018 at 7:16 am
Benching Jameis would be stupid. While I am happy that the Bucs have been winning and I hope that continues it seems stupid to bench the only franchise quarterback we have ever had in our 42 year history not named Steve Young. If they wait until after the bye week before putting Jameis back in that would be OK but waiting any longer may make things much worse.

People actually advocating sucking enough again to get a top pick in the draft. This is real life not a video game. How often does one gm get a chance to pick two potential franchise quarterbacks? How do you think we possibly get tua?

@Phil
“bench the only franchise quarterback we have ever had in our 42 year history not named Steve Young.”

Steve Young was asked, Do you think Jameis Winston is a franchise QB?
“No, because a true franchise quarterback is the reason the team is in position to win every week,” “Franchise quarterbacks develop and you know it when you have consistency through the regular season and playoffs. Obviously, my definition doesn’t have as many franchise tags as others but certainly Jameis is not there yet.”

Joe. What I don’t get is why does it matter so much an everyone getting all bent out of shape who our QB is going to be. We are winning an looking dam good good doing it well the offense is lol. With the way the O-line is playing an the WRs winning their match ups you could put Chris Simms back there an he’s going get us some Ws to haha maybe come on Tampa fans let’s support who ever is back there cuz that’s what real fans do

Gee
it had to be the worst kept secret anyway…
Anybody with any common sense would know that barring injury or a six interception game that Fitz would be starting.
Everybody knows that…
