It’s all Ryan Fitzpatrick all over the nation, and this interview below Joe recommends.
A very relaxed Fitzpatrick gets into a host of topics including how much he struggled as a 2005 rookie with the Rams under offensive guru/coordinator Mike Martz.
Fitzpatrick may have aced Harvard classes but tells host Dan Patrick that Martz’s wordy offense had him getting kicked out of huddles as a struggling fourth-string QB and studying at home with note cards and his wife’s help.
Plenty of chatter here about the QB position, as well, and how Fitz does not expect more postgame fashion statements. He gets into how him wearing DeSean Jackson’s outfit and jewels originated, that his seventh child is on the way, and more.

For sure they do Dewey, however good play callers will keep people guessing no matter how much film they watch.

No I do not fear other DC’s looking at video and figuring out tendencies. We could have run the ball a little more successfully overall but outside of that this team has been awesome.
You tell us Dewey…which tendency are you seeing most…deep bombs to ME13?
DJAX? Godwin? OJ? And we haven’t had enough footballs to even target Brate yet.
So here it is Dewey…it’s not about Fitz…or later on Jameis or any “shrewd” DC….it’s ALL about our OL. If they keep playing like they have the first two weeks we are golden and it won’t matter whether it’s Fitz or JW or what tendencies another coach thinks he finds. If he can find a way to get his DL to beat our OL then he’ll have a chance to game plan.
Tendencies…LMAO….long bombs to…which player…which two players…uh at least four players in just two games….8 TD’s!!!! Tendencies….here’s a tendency they can figure out…the Bucs over two games has had a tendency to score TD’s!

We are doing so well because we have 4 receiving options in Evans, DJAx, OJ, and Godwin that can all excel at one on one matchups. They all require help coverage and defenses cannot afford to give help to 4 different receiving options.
The only thing a defense can do to beat that is get to the QB consistently in under 3 seconds. Those deep plays take time to develop and thus far our line has given 3 seconds or more to Fitz very consistently.
The real test will come when we face a defense that can continuously apply pressure. The Bears in week 4 will be an amazing barometer. The Steelers are known for their blitz packages and you can bet they are making a hoard of adjustments this week after getting steamrolled last week.

FYI NFL gamepass is giving out a free game each week. This week free on YouTube is the KC vs Steelers game. Great preview to scout Steelers for next week. I saw two 3rd and 1 trick plays. Quick pass outside to AB and forward scuttle pass up the middle to Juju. Notice how often Big Ben misses on his throws over 20 yards. Makes a Buc fan appreciate how efficient we’ve been this year.

I think some people are missing or ignoring the facts of this offense that makes it work so well
1- DJax is getting the long ball which makes him happy and holds the safeties back
2- Happy Veterans make Happy Lockerrooms that be infectious (look at the fun they are having the press conference is one example)
3 – More points and bigger leads in games take pressure off of Defense

Dewey….its not that they don’t know his offense..This is still.koetters offense with HIS PLAYS. Monken is simply coming them the way Koetter used to I’m Atlanta and 2015. I think this has a lot to do with Monken aggressive calls. It’s s refreshing to.see passing on first down and 30 pass attempts vs ten run. Which brings us to opposing defenses and Ryan Fitzpatrick. He.is just taking what they are giving him, something I’m not so sure Jameis would recognize. Once these defenses start respecting this passing game more I expect to see our run game become a little more assertive. But you dnt run the ball when you don’t have a defense. As long as Smitty continues with the more aggressive coverage I think the wins will keep coming because this offense is just an absolute perfect storm right now

Winston deserved his suspension even if I think it was a witch hunt gone bad…
But he doesn’t deserve to lose his job!!!

Dewey, it’s all about execution. At this point, the offense is clicking so well, it doesn’t matter if the defense knows the play. Hard to deal with three blazers at WR and bad ass TEs, to include Brate.

Shaun Wilson had 1 Carrie for 9 yards. I would totally like to see him get at least 3-5 carries this week. Put Wilson and Barber in the back field together. Think this would throw off the steelers.

Although I find these last two weeks to be fun and exciting, I have to remind myself that this is the same fan base that pined for Josh McClown who coincidentally has a very similar career as Fitzpatrick. Joe knows nobody who pined for Josh McCown that isn’t employed by the Bucs. Fitz is 4-1 as a Bucs starter. That’s why people are excited, not because they always wanted Fitz here.–Joe
To think that Fitz is better than Winston is hilarious to me but then again wtfdik.
I can only imagine that if Winston gets the same protection, flexibility to run and has Monken calling plays that Winston could very well throw for 8 TDS in a game. Then what?

Study football folks it does more good than bad. Winston is a good qb he just hasn’t mastered going through his progressions in a flash and his windup resembles Russell Wilson. Last night not only did amukamara know the timing he adjusted to the quick game. Jameis has NO quick game. I’m not a basher of any kind I think preseason he looked sharp and I think either or would have success with a team who actually gelled in a offseason. Jason licht is the real mvp he got off that poor man diet of years past and bring in some real pieces to the unfinished puzzle and the team has a we can’t lose swag now. Think about years past knowing the pieces wasn’t in place your confidence fades. Winning preseason ignited this.

This offense is tailored for either qb. Jameis looked the part during preseason like this was gonna be the year. But to fitz credit this has been the most talented team he’s ever play pitch and catch with maybe he’s been this qb all along. Stafford and dalton are made by they’re cast they be garbage on any other team I can bank on it. Fitz still holds the 6ints record for the jet Tf outta here with that I just appreciate winning again. One side note I must add. (Public service announcement) players have a style fitz style allows us to have a quick game versus jameis with his slow whine up throw we have no quick game he just tips the defense off but I want to see jameis behind this line to be fair about this.

The NFL is all about ‘What have you done for me lately?’ And when it comes to Fitz and Jameis, the two are at polar opposites. Fitz is doing awesome and is in command of this TEAM at this moment. Meanwhile Jameis screwed the pooch and is sitting on his couch somewhere probably kicking himself. Ride the hot hand, and if it cools off, find another hot hand to ride. It’s not rocket science.

It amazes me that Jameis is being mentioned and isn’t allowed to play. It’s people like you that divide the fan base, not America’s QB Jameis Winston.

Joe I get it, I’m thinking maybe you’re still feeling a certain type of way bc I stood up to bigotry on the site and for that I’m sorry and won’t do it again. But to suggest no one outside of OBP wasn’t pining for mcclown is simply inaccurate.
Some of jbf’s most popular and loyal readers felt that mcclown gave us the best chance to win, lol. So again I say to think that Fitz is somehow better than Winston with all things being equal is laughable at best.

You guys that picture Jameis doing what Fitzy is doing are delusional. Has JW ever had 2 games in a row where he looked in the zone? Stop getting my hopes up already. You guys are so many in number I am starting to believe he has changed. He is still a turnover machine no matter how you look at it. Maybe this will be the year it clicks for Winston but I wouldn’t bet money on it. He needs to get better at the long ball and more accurate while he’s at it. Fitzy is not going to keep having 400+ yard games so enjoy it while you can. The Steelers are going to lay 30+ points on us so I hope he can win another shootout. Jameis will eventually get to show what he can do. Some other team is going to offer Fitz a starting job next year and may want Monken too. One thing that Fitz is doing that I hope Jameis will learn is that Fitz is reading the defenses very well and picking his target based on what the defense is doing instead of deciding before the snap.
The first play yesterday was a perfect example. I have not lost hope that Jameis will get better at this with experience. Watching Fitz might be the best thing for him in the long run.
