Vernon Hargreaves Returns

A major Buccaneers X-factor entering this season (before today’s scary Donovan Smith injury), Vernon Hargreaves endured a groin issue 12 days ago in the preseason opener at Miami.
Last week he spent a lot of time riding the exercise bike in Nashville, and yesterday he wasn’t practicing in Tampa but was working on the field with staff.
Today, he was back practicing in pads and impressing his head coach.
“He looked really good,” Dirk Koetter said of Hargreaves. “Vernon looked quick. He looked fast. He was communicating. He had a nice sack out there in team period, so it was good to have him back.”
This sets up one heck of a third preseason game on Friday against the Lions and their strong passing attack. The No. 2 cornerback job opposite Brent Grimes is up for grabs and Hargreaves wants it — even if there’s a long line of experts who think he’s best as a nickel corner.

Excellent news. We need him on the field to see if he has improved his game. Would rather find out now than in the regular season.
However the CB position shakes out, at least we’ll have excellent depth…and its better the have a first round pick become a quality backup than to have him completely wash out of the NFL.
Personally, I am hoping for the best in regard to VHIII.

Stanglassman that was awesome! True but the Bucs love Hargraves energy and love of the game. I dont care if hes inside or outside Joe makes too big of a deal of it. Still sick about Smith. We have no one to play left tackle no matter what bs they try to spin.

Just watched Koetter’s PC. Unless he’s just trying to build his name up for a trade, Baily is set for a number five or six if we keep six WR. Hopefully Watson can make the five or six also.

Hargreaves is a slot corner. Too slow, doesn’t tackle well on the edge and not athletic enough to play on the outside. Hopefully he nails down the slot so he’s not a total waste.

Like I been telling all of you “Simple Minded” Little Sheepiel, Hargreaves is nothing more than a Blind Man Who can’t spell “CAT”!. In 2 Yrs., Hargreaves will be selling WEED back in the Hood in Belmont Hights, (That’s the Black Hood in TAMPA) for all of you Folks! It wasn’t just the coaches fault, you can also blame the poor pass rush. Hargreaves is just as fast as Davis and M J Stewart. He has great feet and hips, he just lost his confidence and had a hard time learning to play off the receivers. He was known a close man-to-man coverage in college and felt out of place in his new role. Let’s see what he can now do his 3rd year in the system with a new pass rushing D-line.

Hargraves groin injury report i read provided me with the knowledge that he had lost his balls, he has recently found them and willing to try them out again in practice and in game situations. Hopefully the pair he found is an upgrade to the ones he had and are made of a much harder substance, cause he’s gonna need ones of steel.
