Kwon With The Interception!! Dirk Koetter Reacts
July 31st, 2018There’s a pattern brewing at Buccaneers training camp through five days of work.
Yes, it’s early, but it’s real and Dirk Koetter acknowledges it.
The offense is starting slow and finishing big. Joe is not surprised because that’s how Koetter offenses have trended through his two seasons as head coach. The Bucs have been rather impotent in the first halves of games.
After practice today, Joe asked Koetter about the defense’s quickness and Kwon Alexander’s interception of a short Ryan Fitzpatrick dumpoff pass over the middle. It appeared to hit a lineman in the shoulder area and then rebound directly into Kwon’s gut.
“The defense got off to a fast start today,” Koetter said. “That’s kind of the pattern we’ve been in here the last couple of days, fast start by the defense and then the offense has finished a little better in the second half. You know, we’ll just have to keep talking, we need the offense to start a little faster and we need the defense to finish a little better.”
Welcome to the conundrum of training camp. When one side wins, the other side loses.
At least new kicker Chandler Catanzaro is breaking the tie in a good way. He has been money and was perfect again today from various distances.

“we need the offense to start a little faster and we need the defense to finish a little better”
The more things change – the more they stay the same….

I see the JW mancrushers already talking down Fitzpatrick. They are too ignorant to read that the ball was tipped by an offensive lineman. One that was probably not at the correct position when the ball was thrown. It’s not Fitzies fault that JW grabbed a crouch of an inasant youg Lady and how now been thrusted is not this position.

So… same as it ever was?
Offense starts slow. Defense can’t hold at the end.

Damn joe did you put me in the cooler?
I’ve barely been on here in weeks, and yet all my comments are just disappearing into the ether when I click submit.

no man crush….just keeping it real…
we know the ball was tipped….sounds like he should’ve put more air on the ball…..the ball didn’t hit a RB, WR or TE in the hands that led to a tip….it was an inaccurate pass……

I wonder what you have to do to be “put in the cooler.” I’ve said some incredibly stupid stuff. For example, last year at this time I predicted the Bucs would go 12-4.
I’ve also had some horribly written posts with multiple grammar errors and typos, but I still haven’t got my picture in the Rolling Stone and haven’t ever been put in the cooler.

The Bucs have been rather impotent in the first halves of games.
^^^Here’s why. He game plans very little for the first half then makes adjustments in the second.
Here’s why winning teams DON’T do that. They don’t micromanage the game. They script a few plays to start and test the defense then let the QB and OC exploit what the defense gives. JW would do so well in that kind of game plan. But, Klueless has his dumb plays and hopes the defense won’t pay attention or forget they saw that same play 100 times during film study.

SB, I don’t believe in Catanzaro. He’s had more ups and downs than the space shuttle fleet. As far as I’m concerned, kicking FGs is still a pray to God situation until proven otherwise, just like Red Zone Offense.
