Brent Grimes Is Injured

Well, perhaps there’s an clear explanation now as to why Brent Grimes was giving up on multiple plays a little early in Sunday’s practice.
After a Buccaneers day off yesterday, Grimes was in shorts on the fields of One Buc Palace today, taking mental reps as they call it.
Joe asked Dirk Koetter after practice whether it was just a veterans day off or something more.
“Brent got a little banged up as well. So if a guy is out here in shorts, that probably means there’s some reason he has to miss, but it’s nothing serious,” Koetter said. “Something that’ll just keep him out a day or so.”

Grimes doesn’t really *need* training camp per se. He’s experienced and knows what it takes to be ready.

You can expect things like this to happen….as long as there is nothing serious….we are good…..the most important thing is that players not push themselves unnecessarily.

This is good for the young guys and rookies to get way more reps!!!!! The worry is that BG24 was injured this time last year and was sub par for Usual Grimes all year long!!!!!!

Rest him till week 1 if needed. He knows the system and his role. Like others said this is good for the rookies. Through Davis into the fire a bit.
It sounds like MJ Stewart has been playing solid inside and outside. I wouldn’t be shocked if he starts outside with VHIII inside or vice versa at this point.

My first thought was awesome, more reps for the young guys. It’s not just that they need more reps, it’s that more reps gives them the opportunity to show something and take that #2 spot. Whether they do or not is up to them.

Again this is typical of the licht regime, i do think carlton davis will be a player some day, but licht goes w aging vet grimes and injured older dotson instead of addressing with some capable FA guys, bucs life continues

grimes is one of the few players we have Who will step right into gameday when the time comes. He will be ready despite any days missed.

To @Walter Seidel, he is gonna get old continuing to live, young people have the same problem. He is just fine, this rest is cautionary. As someone that knows, he is ready 😊. He is a 13 yr. vet, he will be on the field when needed. This is for @Godeep66, you should never assume about a vet just picking up a paycheck, obviously you don’t know the pay procedure, you should just ask that person you are talking about 😡

People talk about father time catching up to Tom Brady every year, it’s a fair conversation to have about Grimes. We watched ronde his entire career and saw him slow down. Just don’t think he shouldn’t have gotten 10 mil and I would have been fine with saying veteran day but injury for someone who hasn’t really been going hard is just not a good sign
