Jameis Winston Fires Back At Greg Auman
July 13th, 2018Earlier this week, Joe shared the words of NFL super-insider and Hall of Fame voter Peter King, who said Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, should return to the Bucs “with his tail between his legs.”
It seems Tampa Bay Times writer Greg Auman has a similar mindset.
Auman firmly believes a t-shirt worn by Jameis’ personal trainer, seen via a workout/motivation video on Jameis’ Instagram feed today, was controversial.
The shirt appears to be in the style issued by the NFL Players Association and reads “JAMEIS AGAINST THE WORLD” on the front.
Auman typed a whole story about it that included the following paragraph:
The shirt’s use here might be simple motivation for Winston — teams often create an “us against the world” mindset to build a group closer together. For some fans, the message wasn’t what they wanted to see from someone who publicly apologized for actions that led to a three-game suspension, after strongly denying any wrongdoing when initially accused. Reaction on social media Friday was divided and strong from both sides.
Among other laughs, Joe got a good one out of Auman’s choice of phrasing with “the shirt’s use here.” …Perhaps it’s just, you know, a fun t-shirt his trainer likes to wear?
Auman added on Twitter that Jameis and his camp dropped the ball and used poor judgment.
There could be more awareness from Winston and his camp — pointing to the words on the shirt during video — than was shown today, yes. https://t.co/YoGCZxVp7f
— Greg Auman (@gregauman) July 13, 2018
Well, Jameis saw what was brewing on social media and wagged a Twitter finger of shame at Auman an hour or so later.
@gregauman we making T shirt articles now. Come on I know your getting anxious for the season like me too. #assumptions
— Jameis Winston (@Jaboowins) July 13, 2018
Joe’s not sure where Auman was going this afternoon, but Joe certainly understood King’s take, though Joe disagrees. Jameis does not need to behave a certain way to win over the media. He doesn’t need to live life walking on eggshells to win over fans or teammates. He simply needs to win games. That, along with standard and acceptable behavior, will determine his NFL future.
Hopefully, Jameis learned years ago that he’ll have daggers thrown his way by factions of fans and media no matter what he does — good or bad.
((In related a story, Joe heard a rumor that Jameis’ landscaper was seen wearing a t-shirt that reads, “UBER SUCKS; SUPPORT THE CABBIES” in the background of a Jameis Snapchat video.”))
July 13th, 2018 at 6:31 pm
Yea, he didn’t earn any of it. Bad decision after bad decision after bad decision. But, fortunately for him, the Bucs organization is a walking bad decision with a giant red flag hanging over their facility.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:31 pm
Beef going on between Joe and Greg. Cmon… you guys are too sensitive nowadays
Beef? What beef? Jameis Tweeted and Joe started typing. –Joe
July 13th, 2018 at 6:34 pm
Winston should just do his work and try and stay out of the spot light. The TShirt was stupid. Just go to work and do your job and this will pass.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:40 pm
Jameis believes he did nothing wrong and that he’s being set up by our current political climate. He made an agreement with the NFL to make a statement in return for a reduced suspension. Is this all really that hard to fathom?
July 13th, 2018 at 6:40 pm
+1 for AHBuc, that was funny.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:42 pm
Either Jameis needs to explain more (won’t happen)…..or leave this completely alone….and that would include denouncing anyone who tries to stir things up. He has enough problems winning back the fans much less rubbing it in.
I root for Jameis to succeed….this is why my advice would be to STFU.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:42 pm
The Tshirts are a NFLPA thing. They literally gave one to every player. Jameis is 100% right to call Auman out here. It’s a non-story.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:48 pm
I believe the shirt read: UBER SUCKS: GROPE THE CABBIES.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:53 pm
SchwiftyBuc,
So the NFLPA literally gave every player a “JAMEIS AGAINST THE WORLD” t-shirt?
Literally?
Every player in the NFL?
Really?
July 13th, 2018 at 6:53 pm
Its going to be a long 2 weeks until the start of TC…
Hang in there Jameis. Haters gonna Hate no matter what you do – so just hang in there – get your work in during TC and then ball out when you come back from suspension. Little else is going shut up the judgmentalists.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:55 pm
It’s not just a t-shirt and Jameis knows it..
In fact it’s obvious is that Winston is fighting back. Yes, he didn’t appeal the suspension (he negotiated which is a quite way of appealing). He then issued an apology that ‘needed work’. He fired his agents, and now the Tshirt. He’s defending himself as vigorously as he can within the terms of the agreement. I’m sure there will be more.
And Joe… You see hidden meaning in everything so I’m not quite buying your ‘just a tshirt take on this! Ha.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:56 pm
@Dave Pear
No genius. They gave every player a *Player Name Here* Against the World shirt.
Nice try though bud.
July 13th, 2018 at 6:58 pm
*Player Name Here*,
So, every player has a PLAYER NAME HERE AGAINST THE WORLD t-shirt?
Why?
July 13th, 2018 at 6:58 pm
I’m tired of hearing about this guy, but I agree with Peter King. Jamis Winston needs to keep a low profile.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:00 pm
If that’s a genuine attempt at being funny, I feel sorry for your wife and kids.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:01 pm
This article and the one by Tom Jones just gives more ammo to the people who feel Jameis gets a bad rap. It is perfectly fine to hammer him for stuff he does wrong but why look for stuff to stir up people and twist crap around. This is exactly what Justin P means by evil Bucs media. Primo example right here. The sad part weak minded take the bait. BTW CharlieB nailed it.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:02 pm
If I was allowed to post links, I’d post one to the picture Auman went on to post later of Ali Marpet wearing his “Marpet Against The World Shirt.”
Feel free to continue making cringe-worthy jokes though smart guy.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:03 pm
I’m not a fan of TBT, Auman, Tom Jones, etc. But I also think these statements from above miss the point: “Jameis does not need to behave a certain way to win over the media. He doesn’t need to live life walking on eggshells to win over fans or teammates. He simply needs to win games. That, along with standard and acceptable behavior, will determine his NFL future.”
Uh, no, I don’t agree. Jameis has every right to speak his mind–but there are consequences given this time when people are still taking this in, evaluating what they’d like to see happen. However for the sake of any shot at getting public opinion back to favor his side (it seems pretty divided), Jameis needs to just play football and shut up altogether and let his play speak for itself. He DOES need to walk on eggshells and MUST avoid breaking any more eggs IF he wants any shot at getting back acceptance by the majority of fans. Jameis has yet to show over the long term he can conduct himself with acceptable behavior. His character was already questionable given his FSU days. The shirt worn by his trainer is indeed a bad call. That may not be Jameis’s idea but the appearance is that in putting the two together, looks like Jameis is acting like the victim here. Who is advising this guy?
July 13th, 2018 at 7:06 pm
Even JP Peterson thought it was in poor taste.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:06 pm
Greg Auman is a journalist’s journalist. Hard worker, respectful, helps anyone who asks him. And a total alpha dog stud with the written word.
Jameis Winston is a football player’s footballer. A stone baller who runs 20 yards downfield to block linebackers. First in to the office, last to leave. Wants to win, preseason or Walmart parking lot.
I don’t see any meanness, one alpha dog chiding another and getting some thrown back at him.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:08 pm
This is the stuff we as Bucs fans will have to tolerate until he is gone. I think he needs to just leave. He ain’t worth the trouble with a sub .500 record as a starter. What a do you people see in him I will never understand.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:14 pm
Lmao
July 13th, 2018 at 7:16 pm
MY personal opinion is I don’t care personally what Winston wears, whether he chooses to shoot himself in the foot or not.
I will be silent when he’s announced (won’t hurt his feelings, or hurt anyone elses); I can’t cheer for a guy on a personel that I think is guilty of everything accused of given his track record and has a propensity to lie. However, as a BUCS fan, I hope he scores on every drive, does his job to win every game (although he’s not starting out well by continuing to hurt his team with a three game suspension), and stays healthy all year. Also as a BUCS fan, I also don’t think (and I don’t expect) he will ever return to being the face of this franchise, and they should off ramp him soonest chance they get. The Bucs CAN find a QB who is a leader, who can win AND who will not constantly hurt his team and disgrace his community and bamboozle his team and fans. Seen Enough.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:19 pm
Should we cut Jameis for the shirt?? What do you haters think. Hahahaha FIRETHECANNONS!!! GOBUCS!!!!!!!
July 13th, 2018 at 7:22 pm
All you people who are hating in Jameis should look in the mirror!! Yes he messed up BIG TIME, but let’s be real, he’s not going anywhere, he is here and y’all need to just get over it. GOBUCS!!
July 13th, 2018 at 7:23 pm
I think a fitting T-Shirt in response would be “Jameis Gropes the World.” That way, with what his trainer wore, all sides are covered. T
July 13th, 2018 at 7:27 pm
Frieking liberals who can’t let people just be themselves. Its a T-shirt. If you want to crucify him for making a move on a hottie while he was drunk go ahead (like you never did it and felt like a jackass the next day) but STFU and get a damn life man!!! Let this work itself out. It happened two years ago, he’s got a wife, he’s got a kid, he said he quit drinking. This is obviously his last chance, problem is that nobody is really giving him….the chance without beating him down. Let the kid try and redeem himself and if he screws up or doesnt perform then cut him….Find something else to talk about already.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:28 pm
Hopefully FINALLY his wrong doing becomes a learning moment for him and for the very least his sons sake
July 13th, 2018 at 7:36 pm
4-16….PROVE IT….the only “evidence”….that is relevant now…your ball !…been here since 1976 and LeeRoy a 1st overall pick…..your ball….
July 13th, 2018 at 7:40 pm
If he’s like me, that was just the shirt at the top of the laundry pile when he got dressed in the morning.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:48 pm
BucEmUp, while I agree with most of what you said with laying off of Winston, you need a little history lesson on liberals. Generally speaking they are more acceptant of others with different views, it’s conservatives who are not accepting of people being themselves.
July 13th, 2018 at 7:55 pm
@Skipper
Maybe that used to be the case. But it isn’t any more. The regressive left is quickly becoming the party of witch hunts, silencing those who disagree, manufactured outrage in order to destroy someones reputation, and a general sense of blind righteous indignation. This leads to totally rational, moral people who hold conservative views being likened to the Naht-zee’s.
For example, the recent case of Maxine Waters openly calling for people to form crowds and harass members of the GOP in public places.

July 13th, 2018 at 7:57 pm
Joe, unrelated, but great point on Doug Martin from ESPN.com
“The Bucs will have to prove that their taste in running backs has improved after giving Doug Martin an extension, only to see him become the first NFL player since 1934 to carry the ball 100 times and average fewer than 3.0 yards per rush in consecutive seasons.”
July 13th, 2018 at 8:02 pm
For example. Recently, a prominent figure in the left, Maxine Waters, openly called for people to form crowds and harass people in public for working in the WH. And zero people on the left called her out for it.

July 13th, 2018 at 8:05 pm
No wonder the players are soft
July 13th, 2018 at 8:12 pm
Joe’s quarterback, the human ATM (America’s turnover machine), doesn’t give a flying truck about what anyone thinks. The fact that he is figuratively flipping his middle finger at anyone who doesn’t care for his trainwreck of a football life speaks volumes of his character, or lack of it. After he pulls a muscle or whatever, and the Bucs are on the hook for 20 million, this organization will get exactly what it deserves. Wonderkind, keep doing whatever you want and you show the world what you are made of. Such a role model for all your legion of fans you are. What a self righteous POC. Go Bucs!
July 13th, 2018 at 8:16 pm
Liberals? Yea im sure all these people hating on jameis are liberals. Gtfoh

Please show at least Some kind of Intelligence!!!!! Please! We deserve this!
July 13th, 2018 at 8:29 pm
@SB….Greg Auman (and Tom Jones for that matter) knows nothing about sports. Why should anyone demand Winston know anything about written English?
July 13th, 2018 at 8:30 pm
Thanks Schwifty!
July 13th, 2018 at 8:30 pm
But Roy……Jameis was an A student and Stanford wanted him
July 13th, 2018 at 8:34 pm
Look I am not trying to be an ass and mess with JW for his ebonics and sometimes 6th grade English because he is suspended. I fought very hard as a Gator fan to defend this guy and Believe in him when he was drafted. I had Tons of arguments with my friends at the time. I am paying a price too right now and still trying to stay true to my team
July 13th, 2018 at 8:41 pm
Greg Auman and Tom Jones can both go jump off a bridge. No one likes them anyway. Haters keep hating, it’s nothing new.
July 13th, 2018 at 8:43 pm
Not sure why media thinks they are the end all be all to what should and shouldn’t be done. The arrogance has gotten out of hand. Your opinion is not law and if I’m an NFL player who the hell cares what Greg auman thinks? GMC does lol ok who else cares? You don’t get to decide or dictate what a player should or shouldn’t do. Write about football that’s what guys who can’t play it do. This ain’t no fashion show and only haters make controversy out of a t-shirt. Jameis against the world yes ok I’m still waiting for someone to explain the problem with it like I’m waiting for this Uber driver to actually file a complaint with the law because last time I checked Uber and the NFL can’t prosecute someone for sexual assault.
July 13th, 2018 at 8:44 pm
It’s basically like yelling profanities in the hall at FSU while under investigation for rape….The dude is clueless. Not sure why folks have high expectations of him, he’s simply being who he’s always been…off the field and on it.
July 13th, 2018 at 9:04 pm
Again it is clear he doesn’t think he didn’t do anything wrong and if he truly believes that wouldn’t you think he is sick of people like Roy T Buford saying stuff that he thinks is untrue and frankly hasn’t been proven. BTW since when does the NFL do a good job of investigations? Remember Ray Rice yeah they did a great job getting all the facts there. But they are the gospel right?
July 13th, 2018 at 9:23 pm

Man, that FSU education is on strong display in that error riddled tweet of Jaboo’s.
July 13th, 2018 at 10:02 pm
Now we’re getting on Jameis for making a your, you’re mistake on a tweet? I suggested to Joe that we bar anyone who always gets your, you’re or there, their, they’re correct.
Don’t think we’d lose too many posters.
July 13th, 2018 at 10:08 pm
The your/you’re mistake was one of many in that tweet. If you can’t figure the rest out, you must have attended FSU just like Jaboo.
July 13th, 2018 at 10:11 pm
Joe has it right. JW just needs to WIN GAMES and the masses will forgive and forget.

July 13th, 2018 at 10:27 pm
“Hopefully, Jameis learned years ago that he’ll have daggers thrown his way by factions of fans and media no matter what he does — good or bad.”
JOE!!! That’s called enabling. It’s totally wrong. C’mon, man, there’s nothing “wrong” with what Joe’s sentence above and. Nothing whatsoever. –Joe
Nobody started out picking on Jameis. In fact I feel certain he has been treated exceptionally well simply because he’s a great athlete. His pooop doesn’t stink to many and it hasn’t for at least a decade.
Nobody is throwing daggers at Jameis no matter what he does….getting charged with rape…groping a girl…out partying with Darby BOTH times he got in these jams the second time after the Bucs take a chance?
PUHLEEZE! Cry me a river for poor Baby Jameis who gets attacked no matter what he does.
Sooo…Cam had computergate….what other QB currently in the NFL has NEARLY the off field baggage that Fameis brings to game four this year.
Seriously…I do not know…Rapelisberger will certainly be brought up…he lucked out that it was long before #metoo….so there’s 1…2 if you count Cam’s UF computer deal…how many more…I honestly do not know.
But I would wager in my lack of knowledge that nobody is going to find a QB in this league with the sheer number of off field scrapes Jameis has been in.
The Tshirt story is stupid on both side. My only beef is that Jameis did not get it right. The shirt should say…
Jameis Winston against Jameis!
July 13th, 2018 at 10:44 pm
Jameis Winston isn’t going anywhere. Best thing to happen to the Bucs is Winston grows up, plays great, team wins and Tampa signs him to a friendlier team contract and all that extra dough can be spent on other positions of need. This could really be beneficial down the road. Thanks JaBoo!
July 13th, 2018 at 10:45 pm

Is anyone truly surprised by any of this? When he got in trouble at publix , what did he do on camera when he was drafted? You guessed it! Ate Friggen crab legs! What did he do after being accused of rape? You guessed it! Some short time later you hear of him jumping on a table yelling grab her in the p___y! Hell, after his bbgun crap he probably watched the 24 hour marathon of a Christmas story! If this fool don’t start growing up and winning ball games l know he will be done in this league like Freeman… Sheesh
July 13th, 2018 at 11:00 pm
SB. Were you really just complaining about grammar errors in a social media post and then doing the exact same thing? Way to go randomly capitalizing first letters in the middle of a sentence. You cant make this stuff up
July 13th, 2018 at 11:10 pm
Jameis is just having a little fun with the media. He did have a plate of crab legs on draft night. LOL
July 13th, 2018 at 11:13 pm
Surely, the idea that all JW needs to do is win and all will be forgiven is what landed Winston in this situation in the first place. That was the mindset at FSU. He won games so his behavior was tolerated. The shirt is only a big deal because Winston has continued making stupid decisions. He certainly isn’t a victim–he’s a victimizer—like when he nearly ran over Shelton Quarles to get at the ref. He doesn’t have the common sense to see how that shirt might be read and that is another indication that he has learned nothing. Kind of like posting that pic of crab legs on draft day.
July 13th, 2018 at 11:15 pm
“O ok. Not your words o I get it now you just typed what other ppl said without quoting them? Sooo you just write and not put what you think?”
Casey Hayward CB Jacksonville in response to Bucky Brooks calling him a system Corner.
I really hope you fools trying to make a big deal out of Jameis not using a question mark and using the wrong version of your/you’re are just joking. Otherwise you need to get a life.

Now more than ever, Winston needs to be seen and not heard and keep a very low profile.

No, its more like

Not many cheerleaders for Sex offenders.
I dont remember- Is there any other QB in NFL history, that was labeled a sex offender by the League?
Yet another disgusting low, for a team with a history primarily filled with Lows.

Im sure more are forth coming

Imagine that Schwifty, when a narcistic Reality TV star who sexually assaults women, berates war heroes, berates families of fallen soldiers, and mocks the handicapped becomes president some Americans become concerned. You don’t have to be a liberal to oppose the shtbag! He also requested that Russia hack emails during the election and they promptly did just that. Turn off Fox for a bit and you would be concerned too!
July 14th, 2018 at 12:11 am
Human beings can be divided into two categories. One side looks for grammer mistakes and thinks that finding them is meaningful. The other side types words and knows that anybody can read it and make perfect sense of it. Searching for commas and apostrophes is of no interest.
Honestly, proper writing went out the window when people started typing things that aren’t even words like GHOG or LOL or SDMF and expecting that the rest of the world actually understands them.
But for those that feel a urge to turn social media into a spelling bee I employ you to not be two faced about it and make sure to correct and grammer mistakes for any smoking hot chicks you meet. I’m sure your sex life will thank you.

TDTB you represent everything that’s wrong with football. There’s probably 10,000 aces on the web to talk politics yet you try to force it into football talk where it doesn’t belong.
July 14th, 2018 at 12:43 am
Jameis, just put the phone down and step away from the spotlight.
July 14th, 2018 at 1:45 am
And Jameis is the childish, immature one. SMH. ..People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
Also, Jameis went to college to become a professional athlete, double majored in football and baseball. FOOTBALL, CHECK! He was not an English major, I think the president finished college and speaks or writes not any better and he’s president, whoa!
Jameis may not make it in Tampa but he will make it. I wonder if he can count the dollars he has made this far or will his grammar interfere with counting$$$.
Give me a break!

@Ndog says: “Again it is clear he doesn’t think he didn’t do anything wrong and if he truly believes that wouldn’t you think he is sick of people like Roy T Buford saying stuff that he thinks is untrue and frankly hasn’t been proven.”
Even guys convicted of heinous crimes get tired of people saying stuff. That’s just too bad. The NFL concluded he did what was alleged…period…and our starting QB, the guy brought in lead this team and be there to get wins, is out for an important part of the season. He’s not there when he’s needed because of being stupid. You might vey well blame the NFL for this part, not Jameis.
Don’t forget, Jameis likely knows clearly he lied about and tried to cover up key details to his team and fans. That’s directly against those who have supported him before (like myself)…on a second chance already. He’s never apologized for that yet (and I don’t want to hear it now); in fact, he’s only blamed alcohol and continued the lie about it until recently when he was flat busted on it.
When I throw down $2K for a Bucs game I expect the starting QB to be there; when I have a guy’s image painted on the side of my (and yours too) stadium, I expect him to be a law abiding citizen and not a festering sore that keeps flaring up. I would bet at least 2/3 of the fan base takes this position, and about half of those are done with this guy. And he’s not that good on the field so far either. So as I said above, he should shut up and play football and let that speak for him.
July 14th, 2018 at 8:22 am
Its really strange how the bucs fan base is divided over the winston issues, it seems the blowhard stickcarriers & FSU ppl blindly support him because he can throw a football at an average rate, the guy didnr get a DUI or in a barfight he is showing a pattern of disrespct to women, and the shirt ppl in his group were wearing seems as though jameis feels he did no wrong… jameis is a strange cat, do believe in his head & heart he is genuine with kids & community and wants to be the GOAT for the bucs and NFL, but he seems to legit have issues and probably should keep his head down and not have a spotlight on him now

JimmyJack – read the comments! Schwifty is the one who started the politics. Read the comments before you accuse me of bringing politics into the discussion.
July 14th, 2018 at 8:50 am
The season needs to start soon. IMO this time of year allows people to remove any and all filters (restraint, empathy, understanding of people and the game) such that they spout absolutes about any and everything. If (and I believe they will) the players and coaches follow thru on the process they are on (starts with better players) we will win consistently and absolute unreasoned, unfiltered comments will evaporate. I think this applies across the board, but specifically for this thread, comments about Winston’s character and position as the Bucs franchise (I didn’t say All Pro or HOF) QB will evaporate as well. Like anyone who is committed to their craft, when you face criticism you use it as motivation to do better. IMO that’s what Winston is doing now and what any other committed person (reporter, pilot, parent, student, fisherman, actor, mechanic, painter, architect…you name it) would do. Bring on the season so we can see the truth! Go Bucs!
July 14th, 2018 at 9:37 am
The nfl gave every single player the shirt. Gtfo. All of you are morons
July 14th, 2018 at 10:58 am
@Gabriel. If the NFL gave every player free condoms, that doesn’t mean they should be paraded around, especially for some players. Gtfo.
July 14th, 2018 at 11:07 am
I don’t blame Jameis. The Tampa sports media is lazy.
July 14th, 2018 at 11:32 am
Jameis should worry about setting a solid foundation for his future marriage and newborn child after being a serial cheater. Then he should worry about football. He shouldn’t be putting himself against the world. He did these things to himself and had punches pulled for him by Tallahassee PD and recently the NFL. If he fails it will be in spite of the added help.
July 14th, 2018 at 11:32 am
@Roy T. Buford
“B-But Jameis shouldn’t let his trainer wear the shirt, c-cause he’s in trouble.”
Get a life. It’s really kind of sickening how you can be so obsessed with the guy, yet at the same time be so ill-informed.
July 14th, 2018 at 11:55 am
I think Jameis should get a life instead, don’t you? Hey, the article is about him–and so people comment. Great concept, huh?
It’s pretty clear that things going around Jameis he’s associated with, especially people he hires and how they present themselves reflect on him, is important to be mindful of. Of course, we’re talking about the same guy, again in hot water for his character, who was out the night in BIG question with convicted rapist and another troublemaker. So maybe Jameis just isn’t learning at all.
July 14th, 2018 at 12:07 pm
Schwifty
It appears to me YOU are the one who is misinformed.
BTW I’ve earned an entire new level of respect for your cult leader er President.
I’m truly impressed now that President Trump has informed us all he is the most popular Republican President in history…beating not only Ronald Reagan but better poll numbers than ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
Do you people even pay attention. That’s truly impressive. Where did “The Donald” come up with polling from the Lincoln administration. Although I readily concede Lincoln managed a Civil War so if you include the traitors in the South who fought AGAINST the U.S. I feel pretty sure Lincoln’s “poll numbers” LOL suffered.
July 14th, 2018 at 12:35 pm
@skipper – thank you for posting something with truth and merit.
@schwifty and @bucemup – pull your heads out of your collective a$$es and step outside your echo chamber. Your statements could not be more wrong. You think everyone who doesn’t agree with you is some stereotypical caricature that’s been created by faux news.
The fact is there are tons of people on this board who have been harping on Jameis, and are also staunch defenders of 45.
So again, you could not be more wrong. Your ignorance however is on full display, so congrats on that.

July 14th, 2018 at 1:12 pm
I don’t know why so many here think things have to be “either – or” about idelogies. I’m a conservative republican who detests Trump from a personal view (as well as the current Congress) and didn’t vote for Trump in the primary. I left my vote of Dennis Ross blank because he’s a do nothing GOP loser who does a terrble job in the swamp. But Hillary and her democratic/liberal ilk are much worse, and I think dangerous too. Maxine, Nancy, Chuck, Warren…awful. So I voted for Trump in the general election and frankly, I’m happy with stuff he’s done so far–still don’t think he’s a good guy personally at all but he’s doing the job. I wince at much of what he says. He’s don’t nothing but good things IN OFFICE, IN THE POSITION he holds. My opinion.
I didn’t trust Winston (didn’t want Martiota either…wanted a DE) as first overall. However, being a Bucs fan I gave Winston a chance and the benefit of the doubt on all his FSU baggage and questionable character issues. Getting past his first year, I was impressed overall. I had always said the real Winston would be what he did the first time no one was looking or supervising him. And he did just that…scrwed up the very time he was on his own–and lied about it all until recently. Lied to the people who gave him a chance, whom he’s supposed to care about. He disgraced our team, the community, and is so far a proven terrible leader and role model. He frankly hasn’t done much good in anything since being in the position.
I laugh when I see lefties blame righties for hating on Winston, and vice versa. I look at the job, look at who represents what, and go from there. No politics in it from me when it comes to sports. Political halos don’t transfer to pure sports. Of course, in cases like Kap and kneeldowns that bring politics and protest to the game, I see in some cases it does cross into politics.
If Trump screws up in office with what he’s apparently done before, I want him gone in a manner quicly as possible than doesn’t hurt the country. We can find a president that represents what I think without him being a dirtbag.
Winston has already screwed up (again) and gets to sit out a key part of the season because of it…hurting his team, yet again. It’s time for him to go–in a manner that doesn’t hurt the team. And that will take a year or two. We can find a QB that represents the team and community well without being a dirtbag.

July 14th, 2018 at 2:03 pm
Wait til these tariffs kick in Roy! You won’t be too happy when youre paying mor for cars, TVs, etc. Trump is making America look awful right now. He is taking a dump all over Europe and going to meet with his buddy Putin claiming that will be the easy meeting! Yesterday a dozen Russians were indicted for hacking emails. They started hacking the day he requested Russians to hack emails. He is making a mockery of America and destroying alliances with our closest allies.
July 14th, 2018 at 2:04 pm
LOL
July 14th, 2018 at 2:05 pm
You won’t be happy when these tariffs kick in. He is making a mockery of America and destroying alliances that have made the world safer until now.
July 14th, 2018 at 2:19 pm
@Unb
Don’t watch Fox news bro. Sorry. I have no political affiliation. I’m just speaking on what I’ve seen dude. Maybe you should go on youtube and watch some SJW vs Logic videos. Or watch what happened at Evergreen University back in fall 2017. I’m telling you bro, the ideologies being pushed by the new left are some scary, scary prospects.
The left is being taken over, you and other real, truly rational and moderate liberals need to realize that and take your part back before it’s too late. Much love, no hate, all facts.
July 14th, 2018 at 2:30 pm
Joe,
after watching that long video if the only thing you walked away with was the t-shirt then you’ve got serious bias, imo.
That session was nothing short of a Nike Commercial. All while praising the lord.
Then to find out EVERYONE gets the same T and seeing Ali Marpet with his T, Greg totally has egg all over his face.
AND THEN YOU FIND OUT GREG WENT TO UF
it’s all laughable, the TB media and 50% of the fan base are a complete joke.
July 14th, 2018 at 2:48 pm
@TDTB…..disagree. For decades our country has been too tolerant of unfair trade…big deficits, always having to pay for others, never wanting to stand up for our country because of the PC BS. I recommmend you just stop listening to the rhetoric so much on the airwaves and stick to the facts on the ground. The talking heads really do get people going. I don’t know how much you’ve beeen around politics, but you should know even the people in elected positions act like normal people at the end of the day in most cases I’ve seen.
OMG, kids are getting separated from their parents at the border. Been going on for decades….yet NOW people (pretend to) care. Just one example.
I like football and other sports to get away from that stuff. So that’s pretty much all I’ll say on the potitical BS for now–just don’t be too serious about the shrill media.
July 14th, 2018 at 3:00 pm
Marpet and probably 98% of the NFL (and really, in this case players’ handlers that do reflect on the players they are hired to support) can pretty much wear the shirt and no one would accuse them of pretending to portray themselves as the victim, with an axe to grind against everyone. 98% of the NFL players aren’t dealing with serious, serious, character issues. The other 2% or so should just lay low. That’s not a hard concept to grasp. Had Auman put out his article, folks would have responded–most wouldn’t know or care. Who really reads TBT, and I think Auman is a hand-to-mouth reporter, a dim bulb in my view. But Winston opening his big trap at a time when he should lay low (yeah, it’s his right) has elevated this to national media levels–again. No more egg on Auman’s face than was already there…and most would not have noticed it. Seriously, is anyone advising Jameis from a PR perspective. Is he this dumb?
July 14th, 2018 at 3:04 pm
Roy
Did you watch the video or are you just running off at the mouth with no facts or context?
July 14th, 2018 at 3:04 pm
Just one example of national media…Mike Florio writes this (not my words!): “As to the T-shirt, it’s a close question. Given that Winston will serve a three-game suspension for sexually assaulting an Uber driver, the best approach may be to assume a low profile, and to do nothing that would constitute anything other than full and complete contrition for his conduct and acceptance of his punishment. Which would mean that a T-shirt proclaiming “Jameis Against The World” (even if it was produced by the NFLPA for a variety of players) probably shouldn’t show up in any video from a pre-training camp workout posted by Winston to Instagram.”
July 14th, 2018 at 3:15 pm
Here’s a little more from Florio, if I may: “Indeed, if Winston will show unnecessary sensitivity when it comes to a Tampa columnist raising a fair question about a misguided wardrobe choice by Winston’s trainer, what will Winston do when he walks into a stadium as the quarterback of the visiting team and fans let him have it? What will he do if/when some fans at Raymond James Stadium choose to do the same?”
I don’t agree with him on a lot, but these are good points. I speak from experience as a guy who goes to several away games a year, I always catch flak, most of the time in fun, about the Bucs. And I’ve said as a Bcus fan while I hope Winston scores every time he touches the ball and gets through the season healthy, I will be silent when he runs out of the tunnel at the RayJay. Remember when Kap showed up in Miami? Not good. When someone chides me with numerous names they will call Winston while I sit in their stadium in Bucs colors, at this point, I have to say “Hey, I don’t disagree.” Just like my neighbor who’s a big Steelers fan…he loves his team, but thinks Big Ben should have gone to jail.
Someone needs to get Winston some PR sense. I don’t know, but couldn’t blame him if old Hall of Famer #55 is done with him too.
July 14th, 2018 at 3:20 pm
I’m not a JW fan but doesn’t everyone just want him to fly under the radar, work hard on his game and get ready for the season. Seriously. I’m not bagging on him but stay off twitter…avoid eating W’s or anything like that. Go practice hard and get ready for the season. Stay out of the news.
July 14th, 2018 at 3:38 pm
T. rex
Watch the video then come back and read your post.
July 14th, 2018 at 4:29 pm
Meh……How many Cut Em’s is that now Bubba?????
July 14th, 2018 at 4:37 pm
@schwifty
You can find examples of any group of people doing completely stupid asinine sh!t on youtube. C’mon man, that’s hardly the norm, nor is it the majority of people who lean left. Nothing is being taken over- you just see the most extreme examples being sensationalized on youtube channels and media outlets.
Same as it ever was.
You bring up M Waters saying that, but meanwhile the guy in office has literally advocated for violence against protesters, asked a foreign nation to hack his opponent, threatened to throw that same political opponent in jail, and praised the white suprem cists who ran over and killed someone in NC as ‘fine people’. Plus about 1000 other disgusting idiotic things that I don’t care to go into.
So acting like it’s one sided is foolish.
Anyways my entire original point to you and BucEmUp was that many of the people on here who are skewering Jameis are on the right, it’s not just the libs like you both claimed.
And TDTB is right, we will seeing disastrous effects on our economy over the next few years. But whatever- go Bucs, etc., etc.
July 14th, 2018 at 5:23 pm
…….and the Winston TRAIN WRECK continues…………….smh
July 14th, 2018 at 6:22 pm
@TDTB….I do work with a coalition on a routine basis at MacDill AFB. All of NATO, and many more. Trust me, the alliances are strong. Again, don’t get sucked in by the pols and the talking heads.
July 14th, 2018 at 6:28 pm
@Unbe and StPete
Like I told you, I don’t have any kind of political affiliation one way or another. I didn’t vote for Trump. And I accede he’s a doofus who says a bunch of dumb crap constantly. But, since I’m not brainwashed into thinking he’s some kind of evil genius by the mainstream media, I also recognized that when it comes to actual policy(Not Rhetoric on twitter or otherwise), before these ridiculous tarriffs being imposed, he was doing a pretty decent job. And was rightfully allowing the middle class and small business owners to thrive.
These tariffs are awful. And the only thing they’ll do is raise prices for us. But please, I implore you to listen to me while letting go of any preconceived bias you have against me, radical socialist’s are indeed becoming the new face of the left. Take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a prime example of this. She is a blatantly outright socialist, who just defeated the incumbent dem rep from her state. And she represents the toxic, post modern, overly PC thought policing that is quickly becoming the norm on college campuses.
These kids are not just going to vanish into thin air, they are soon going to be entering the work force and the voting public. And no one on the left, yourselves included seem to see the eminent tidal wave closing in on you.
July 14th, 2018 at 6:58 pm
@Unbe
Already told you I’m not a trump supporter, and I agree these recent Tariffs are going to be awful and do nothing but raise prices for American’s. But you’re deeply wrong here dude.
The radical left is becoming more and more mainstream day by day. Take the recent example of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, someone who’s openly a radical Socialist is about to become a senator.
The PC thought police will soon be coming for anyone and everyone who doesn’t submit to their beliefs. Or at least they would if they had the means to do so.
Also, just want to you and St.Pete to realize that you’ve been brainwashed by the mainstream media. The findings of the FBI investigation showed no ties between the russian hackers and the Potus. And that Hillary is indeed one of the most corrupt politicians there is. And that she should absolutely be in jail not only for disclosing classified information and then scrubbing her server clean.
But you need to look up the case of Seth Rich. And tell me that you would be more comfortable with a psycho like Clinton in the office more than you are with a doofus like Drump.
July 14th, 2018 at 9:45 pm
uh lol, well i thought those messages were just getting deleted by the filter so i changed it up a bit, but i guess they went into moderation or something. So uhh… yeah.
July 14th, 2018 at 10:20 pm
Seth Rich?
Wow we have a true right wing nutjob here.
July 14th, 2018 at 11:41 pm
Love how Schwifty says he isn’t a right winger. Yet he regurgitates every talking point that the state run media….err Fox News brainswashes its followers with.
July 15th, 2018 at 12:11 am
@Stpete
So you don’t even find it the least bit curious that A guy was a prominent campaigner of the Obama campaign went on to disclose information to wikileaks, and then gets shot twice in the back during a “botched robbery” in which none of his possessions were removed from his home?
If you can look at that case objectively and not see anything remotely out of the ordinary, then I’m sorry but we just don’t perceive the world in the same way whatsoever.
And @TDTB Sorry. But I like I said I don’t watch any main stream news outlets, Fox news included. Because they are all biased, in addition to being bought and paid for to push an agenda. Something tells me that you with out a doubt watch NBC and CNN.
July 15th, 2018 at 7:50 am
Marpet has the same shirt
July 15th, 2018 at 9:18 am
I watch all news outlets. No Fox? My guess is Breitbart then lol. Conspiracy much????
July 15th, 2018 at 9:28 am
Yknow what? – I decided to actually wear my Winston #3 jersey again today, just as a small show of support… and to say cmon, at some point enough is enough.
We all agree that Jameis made a huge error in judgement and he is paying dearly for it. But he is also a kid that has demonstrated over and over to the Tampa Bay community that he has a huge heart in the community and wants to win football games for our Bucs.
He deserves a chance to make things right, and I truly believe that he will.
July 15th, 2018 at 9:47 am
SB says
*Your’e*
Stanford definitely did not want the kid for his intellect I support the kid but Dam Man! Spell correct before you hit send!”
Um… seriously SB? — It is “You’re”, not “Your’e”.
and Dam………….. is spelled Damn.
July 15th, 2018 at 5:12 pm
A more apt shirt would have read Jameis against a small part of the world.
