“Does Ownership Get To The Point Where They Are Sick Of Him?”

June 28th, 2018

Decisions.

The call, if there is one, will come from on high.

Sort of like when a conclave of cardinals arrive at The Vatican to select a new pope. Either the white smoke to retain America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, or the black smoke to signal his departure from the Bucs, will ultimately originate from Team Glazer’s office.

That’s what BSPN insider Dan Graziano told Dull Patrick recently on the latter’s predictable, smarmy, boring show seen on NBC Sports Network.

Of course, the subject was the tentative three-game suspension looming for Jameis over a hassle with an Uber driver in Arizona two years ago. Recorded Monday, Graziano said his information is that a three-game suspension is hardly etched in stone and in fact, could be shorter. Or, of course, could be more severe.

Graziano noted it doesn’t matter what he or Dull Patrick or anyone else think about Jameis. It is in the hands of Bucs officials with Team Glazer making the ultimate call.

“It’s an incident from two-and-a-half years ago,” Graziano said. “Did he keep [details of the hassle] from you? Does that affect your trust in him?

“Does ownership get to the point where they are sick of him?”

Graziano seemed to hint if Jameis has a bad year in 2018, it could be his final straw in Tampa Bay.

    I don’t trust his lyin’ @$$…
    Everyone says he has matured…
Then why would he have still lied?
Shows me he’s not the leader he pretends to be.

  2. BrianBucs Says:

The Eagles yesterday announced that they have restructured Nick Foles’contract to make it more cap (and trade) friendly.
My goodness Jason Licht, get on the phone! NOW!

  3. csidedave Says:

There is no way they can trust him enough to give him the big bucks in 2019 and he will be gone a good bit of this year anyway. Unless the report vindicates him, do it this year. Why wait when you know this guy will not be your leader going forward.

A very disappointed Buc fan who has defended him since his does at FSU.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

“It’s an incident from two-and-a-half years ago,” Graziano said. “Did he keep [details of the hassle] from you? Does that affect your trust in him?

The exact quote was “Did he keep it from you”….

My question Joe is: Why did you feel the need to change the quote….to describe this as a hassle?……seems to me the quote could have been left without your editing it.

  5. SC Bucs Fan Says:

I see another day of rehashing the same things

  6. The Buc Realist Says:

I think that there are two ways it could go!!!!!
    1. JW3 plays average or worse, and it will be a total clean house from GM down to players!!!!!!
2.) Jw3 plays very well the last half of the season, and the Bucs finish 7-9, and team Glazer just replace the GM and coaches, and the new regime can work with jw3 on his 5th year option, and the Glazer’s will call it a “fresh start” to sell it to the fans!!!!!!!!!

  7. AlteredEgo Says:

Sadly…the Glazers and the NFL have information on Jameis that has never been made public before this incident as well as in the current one …if Jameis is on the roster this year especially while on suspension….every week in the press and on game day pregame shows and live broadcast….this sh*t stew will be stirred up again and again and again….one man painting a negative image and perception over the whole franchise….fair or not…that is how it will be

  8. Ghastly Bucs Says:

    @Buc Realist,

I think you are forgetting Option 3.) JW3 plays average or worse and the franchise doesn’t pick up his option year and they draft a new QB in 2019. Keeping coaches and GM.

Not sure why you think GM and coaches are gone regardless of outcome.

  9. BrianBucs Says:

    AlteredEgo

    Exactly. Well said

  10. Pickgrin Says:

So many ridiculous comments of late. I can’t even….

    Get some perspective people

  11. Dewey Selmon Says:

Everything is going to blown up at the end of the year. New GM, HC and QB next year, sad to say we will be starting from scratch. Again.

  12. Defense Rules Says:

Graziano’s question … ““Does ownership get to the point where they are sick of him?” … really is the bottom line. And IMO the answer will depend on how much they TRUST Jameis going forward. None of us know the answer to that, and I’m not even sure the Glazer Boyz themselves know the answer at this point in time. Most fans seem to say it’s all about winning, but the Glazers have to take an even bigger perspective. To them, it’s a business decision worth hundreds of millions of $$$. I don’t envy them having to make the decision whether GOOD JAMEIS is a sound future investment on their part, or whether BAD JAMEIS will rear its ugly head yet again & sink the ship.

  13. AlteredEgo Says:

DS…no the HC and GM are safe….no need to blow up the whole show for one bone head actor….yeah it was the star actor….but the show will go on with the same GM & HC

  14. The Buc Realist Says:

rumors are starting to swirl that there is “electronic evidence”!!!! Which makes sense, because everything we have been hearing is that Uber is very reluctant to suspend accounts unless video or audio evidence is presented!!!!!

Word on the street is that the NFL league office will try to bury it, when JW3 and uber kate settle up and have an iron clad settlement of non-disclosure agreement!!!!!!!

The question is will team Glazer get to peak at the alleged evidence????? Are they gathering names for new GM’s?????? with the high first round draft pick next year, they will be in prime position to draft a QB that can throw a deep ball and not have to worry about transgression and year lone suspensions!!!!!!!!!!!

    #Clean_House!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Fans should be sick of the owners they were pathetic failures long before jameis and will be failures long after jameis. On field Results prove it

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think the Owners are sick of blowing everything up and starting over….they are tired of paying coaches who have been fired….I can assure you they are tired of losing and they want to win……whether or not they know how is up for debate.

    I hope Jameis survives
    I hope Licht survives
    I hope Koetter survives
    I really don’t give a rat’s a$$ about Smitty

  17. tnew Says:

Once again, this is why the Bucs need to hire a President of Football Operations This is not a decision that needs to be in Licht’s (I like his short term problem assessment skills, not long term) or the Glazer’s (too many other concerns) desk. Someone with a long term track record in the league.

  18. Buccernutter Says:

I have learned one important lesson about all of this. We are all taking this a lot more serious than the world is because we are consuming ourselves with it. This society has the shortest memory there is. Once the season is back, there will be tons of news to drown this out. It will be a forgotten memory in no time, unless Jameis sucks. If he has an amazing come from behind victory than it will take the back seat and slowly dwindle over time.

Look at Zeke. Don’t hear a peep about his issues anymore and they were sooooo much worse it’s not even comparable.

Truth his hell probably get his 3 games, we won’t go 0-3 and he’ll come back and have more motivation to get his life together than ever and I believe he’ll persevere. Nowhere to go but up guys.

But I admit being the center of attention in June sucks. Worst timing possible.

  19. AlteredEgo Says:

How anyone could shift blame to the Glazers is beyond me…if this incident had not happened NO ONE would be calling the G’Boyz out…SMH….the Bucs are GREATLY improved this year over last and if not for the “groping” incident and the deeper and deeper hole it now seems Jameis has dug for himself….we’d all be very optimistic about the upcoming season about the up coming season….some even talking playoff appearance…it ain’t the GM…it ain’t the HC…it ain’t the G’
    Boyz….it is %100 on Jameis Winston !

  20. BFFL Says:

wins come from pass rush and run game. JW groping crotch has nothing to do with that.

  21. donuts Says:

As a fan, I am worried about the psyche of this team. IMHO it was already fragile due to the extended losing….now it may be in full drain circling mode. The good news is Fitz is a strong vet presence and something in my gut says he will rally the troops to start the season.

Winston is going to have the challenge of his life ahead of him taking most of the second string snaps at camp and having no team contact for the term of his suspension. I worry he will have more timing issues when he returns, which tend to lead to bad turnovers when he presses to make a play rather than wait for the next play. I think is Fitz wins 1 or 2 games and Winston has issues that the string will be short with coach K. This has to hurt the trust in the room…no question.

  22. Steven007 Says:

The NFL now suspends players over simple hassles? Who knew?

  23. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Wins come from talented football players…. outside of warren sapp; jameis is easily the most talented bucs player. Reality is truly a beotch

  24. BucEmUp Says:

All I know is the one person benefiting from the is Mike Smith. Enjoy it while you can Mike because you are still the biggest problem this team has

  25. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Drafting a QB is virtually a non-option because the QB Class is horrible this year. Any of the QBs taken in the first round of this past draft would easily be the beat quarterback in the next class. It’s ride or die with Jameis for the next two years. We picked a terrible year for this to happen considering how weak the class happens to be (of course).

  26. JMan 5 Says:

Either way Bucs should get a vet qb for 2019 trade a few pieces and get Tua in 2020.

  27. doolnutts Says:

Today as it stands do we offer him a 100 million dollar multi-year extension no. But by no means should we cut him that would be insane. Big Ben and countless others have been accused for the same or worse and still remained on their teams. So this will be an ownership call. If it was my team I would just keep franchise tagging him like the Redskins did with Cousins. He is signed for 2019 and could be tagged in 2020 and 2021 giving us time to find a replacement should that be the route that they would like to go.

Winstons future in Tampa I think will be determined largely by his play. If he plays lights out like Big Ben did all this talk of cutting him will be gone and he’ll like get the extension.

  28. Joe Blahak Says:

They should be sick of him…They drafted him expecting this crap to be over with and here we are discussing this guys issues and poor judgement. The poor judgement thing is both on and off the field. It’s set in stone. Go get Foles now, f*ck this bullsh*t…

  29. GorrillaBuc Says:

You guys are funny Smh! What if Pittsburgh got rid of Big Ben, there’s no way they win those super bowl! What about Indy and Payton Manning? Stop bashing our QB and wait until all the info is released Star QBs don’t grow on trees!

  30. Defense Rules Says:

doolnutts, you win the ‘Sanity Award’ for today. You hit the nail right on the head IMO … “Winstons future in Tampa I think will be determined largely by his play.”

Largely but not entirely. If he plays poorly, he’s toast. IF he pulls a dumb stunt like this again, he’s toast. But assuming that he doesn’t AND that his performance on the field warrants it, Bucs would be dumb not to keep franchise-tagging him for 2020 & 2021. He hasn’t shown anyone (especially the Glazer Boyz) that he’s trustworthy enough to warrant a long-term investment.

  31. Knoxville Buc Fan Says:

For one the suspension hasn’t even been handed down. Could between 1-3 games… I guess your gonna go ahead and call it a bad year and blame JW 100% You must Be a complete idiot

  32. passthebuc Says:

I see, the fact that it happened 2 1/2 years ago makes it acceptable. The comments are getting disgusting.

  33. Steven007 Says:

passthebuc, but it’s just a “hassle” according to the Joes…

  34. Steven007 Says:

    has·sle

  35. Steven007 Says:

So a hassle is losing your keys. Or of course being accused of sexual assault buy an Uber driver.

  37. Pete I Says:

I hope Jameis survives (to finally show he isn’t just a mediocre QB with accuracy and turnover issues)
I hope Licht survives (to finally show he can be a GM in the NFL, the jury is still out)
I hope Koetter survives (to finally show he has what it takes to be an NFL Head Coach, the jury is still out on that too)

But the one constant that will survive is the Glazier boys who have shown they aren’t their dad.

    What a self-inflicted mess!

  38. Pete I Says:

Wonder if the owners read forbes? A nice article titled:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Jameis Winston Problem

Or are they to busy watching the world cup?

  39. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

JW3 has had 3 years. He is what he is….Bad decisions and interceptions!!! That’s not going to change!! Don’t drop all those dollars after this year. Move on unless you want more of what your getting!!! Sad times in Tampa. Better snatch someone right now if we can!!! Fitz isn’t the answer either. Let’s see what Licht, Koetter and Smitty are all about now??????????

  40. Buc believer Says:

You people that want Jameis gone deserve the ship show you get!!! Go root for the Cleveland freeking Browns! Jameis is a good guy (maybe needs some growing up a bit) and a great player. If he gets released that is the end of the Bucs for 10 plus years. Good luck with that.

  41. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Dear Snowflakes,
    Please move to California

The issue is between the Uber driver, Jameis , the Bucs and NFL ( and maybe Disney per Joe)

Sounds like James Comey referring to Hitlary as a “matter” instead of an investigation. LOL
