Run Game Tough

Man, the Bucs seem hellbent on stopping the run.
Reading the draft profile of new Bucs safety Jordan Whitehead, it seems his greatest strength is his run-stuffing availability.
Whitehead has ties to the Bucs. His cousin is future Hall of Fame corner Darrelle Revis who couldn’t play for inept Lovie Smith. Whitehead, in a conference call this afternoon with the Bucs pen and mic club, said that he was at Revis’ draft party back in the day and that Revis’ mother is at his draft party.
Whitehead said he can play either safety position and in a pinch, can play nickel corner.
It sure seems like the Bucs, if runners are going to gain any sort of yardage on the ground, will make them pay for that real estate.

I like the plan Licht has for this whore off-season. Get physical and get nasty. All the picks in the draft fill that role.

Looks like the Bucs are looking for versatile players on defense so one year they can play one position, the next year play another position, and the third year play a little of both positions, and then throw their hands up. Mike Smith and versatility is a dangerous combination.

GMC is gonna think he died and went to heaven this year! The double and triple teams will have to come off of him, for a change.
Jason Licht is rebuilding our team, and IMHO is doing a pretty dam good job so far, at least on paper.

Your not allowed to be a hard hitter in this pu$$y a$$ Goodell league. Isn’t the new rule that your not allowed to use helmet for any type of contact? What the hell does that mean? It’s like how they’re trying to make no head contact in the NHL. Doesn’t make since.

It’s ok to trade if you are worried your guy won’t be there assuming you don’t give up the farm. How would you know if many players they wanted went a couple picks in front of them over the years…. You wouldn’t. A lot of teams trade especially in front of other teams they suspect want their guy. Like a team jumping the cowboys for a good TE this year. The Humboldt state G/T has an old coach from college on the broncos. He loves the guy and who knows what he’s told people. Marpet and Beckwith were well worth it. Aguyo not so much

New Orleans ran it down our throats even the last game of the year Kamara was picking up 6 yards a carry with ease so. That has to stop.

Hopefully our DC smitty will try..harder..to give our Defense some different looks, stunts..variations this season. We may have the players now. But I have not been impressed with Pressbox Smitty our defensive coordinator. I think everybody is going to be watching him closely this season.

I think he was a little handicapped by a terrible line and knew if he played press corners would get beat deep. I mean look at the line and the corners. Looks like this year they have confidence in the line getting pressure, maybe more blitzes with two new press corners. That being said no excuses he needs to be on point this year or he’s out. He might even get them all fired because Dirk will never fire him.

This Defense is built for Smitty’s style of play with these new draftees. He had a great Defense when he was DC at Jacksonville where he had two big DTs in the middle. He has that NOW! WOW! Smitty now can do more blitzing too. I think this will be great to have two good DLs so he can really platoon and keep them fresh so at last the Defense can win the game at the end. However, he will need to have his DL Coach mentor Stevie T to be a backup to Vita Via. We are also going to really do some goal line stands this year too. It will be fun watching the other QBs in our Division having to run for their lives finally! I also like to see our bigger CB able to cover the larger receivers in our Division.

I know all the talk is about the quarterbacks in our division, but the saints and falcons were two of the top rushing teams in the league.
