Report: A Deal! Bucs Ink Two-Career-Sack Tackle
March 14th, 2018UPDATED: 12:04 p.m – Yes!!! Maybe.
The Bucs have a new defensive tackle, a run stuffer with two career sacks. Think Akeem Spence minus the pass rush skills.
The fresh meat is Beau Allen, per the Tampa Bay Times. He comes fresh off the Eagles roster. The 2014 seventh-round pick by the Eagles was a fixture on their roster as a rotational run stuffer since he joined the team.
Now he’ll be a Buccaneer, hopefully returning the run defense to what it was in 2016 and under Lovie Smith, before it fell into the crapper last season.
Per NJ.com, Allen was a key cog and beat man Eliot Shorr-Parks was lobbying for the Eagles to keep him.
Allen played 423 snaps this season for the Eagles, only 70 less snaps than starter Timmy Jernigan, and not considerably less than the team’s best defensive tackle, Fletcher Cox (607).
The NFL’s 32-ranked defense probably just got better. So that’s a good thing.
For those wondering, the Super Bowl champion Eagles replaced Allen with veteran Ravens and Lions stud Haloti Ngata.

Wow!
March 14th, 2018 at 12:03 pm
We need players like this…..albeit not enough….I’ve heard some good things about this guy.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:05 pm
As I said elsewhere, is it a good signing?
I guess that depends on how you look at it. He’s not a big name. He’s not a sack master. What he is? Depth and a run stopper, which the Bucs struggled with last year (among many other things).
I’m sure many here scoff at it, but he’s a good enough signing for now.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:05 pm
This just in Bucs about to sign backup long snapper too…
March 14th, 2018 at 12:05 pm
Updating an earlier post….Eagles will save $9 million against their cap by designating Vinny Curry a post-June 1 release or post-June 1 trade.
Both of those can be realized after 4:00pm today, and they will carry a $2 million dead money hit until June 1.
Keep an eye on it Buc faithful!
Go Bucs!

This is Jason Licht BIG, GIGANTIC free agency signing.
I give Jason Licht an A+ in free agency
He just nailed Mean Joe Greene 2.0
March 14th, 2018 at 12:06 pm
Bucs are going crazy now!!!!!!! Lol

All locker room guys. Am I the only one who sess it. 2010- no big names 10 wins. As a family
2016- no big signings. 9-7. As a family. Listen to pawloski’s intro man. Reminds you what a united locker room can do. We weren’t paying 15 a year for solder or trumaine. Add Jensen. Add the skins pass rusher and okafor. Add gains. And build through this draft. Move up for Chubb or sit back and watch Barkley fall the way the free agency is going.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:07 pm
Welcome to Tampa. Hopefully you can show your teammates what it takes to win a Super Bowl.

Kobe Faker
March 14th, 2018 at 12:09 pm
Jason Light has a history of signing and re-signing defensive line men who will never ever ever ever put pressure on the quarterback. It’s absolute insanity. Looks like he has not learned his lesson and will be fired soon. Just remembering the glory days of the buck in your defense when all four defense of Lyman and are back ups all had speed and were able to get to a quarterback. That’s how you help your secondary.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:10 pm
Typical joke signing by the joke team of the NFL. Great job Glazers and licht!!! LMFAO
March 14th, 2018 at 12:10 pm
Think Akeem Spence + 30 more LBs actually…
Or Clinton McDonald + 40 more LBs…
3-4 NT depth? Or just a big a4ss dude in general
March 14th, 2018 at 12:11 pm
Yay.. A body…
March 14th, 2018 at 12:12 pm
big stick carriers huh!!!!!!!……
looks like glazers are building depth for the next regime!!!!!!….
no urgency….no excuse
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!!…..GO BUCS!!!!!
March 14th, 2018 at 12:12 pm
I’m just happy they did anything at all to tweak that DL. I’m sure we’re not done either. We can use a run stuffer. He’s not being brought in as a starter for pass rush.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:15 pm
I bet he’ll keep his eyes on the ball and not jump off sides.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:16 pm
Lol, wow.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:18 pm
Just read he was originally drafted to play NT in a 3-4; but was scheme versatile / did well in 4-3 as well.
PFF rated him as “average” for the year / much better than Baker’s grade. Then again he was playing on a line with a bunch of studs around him
March 14th, 2018 at 12:18 pm
Its a depth signing. I wonder if this means Clint McDonald is out now
March 14th, 2018 at 12:19 pm
How about Beau being rated as the number 1 best run defender on the market. I think he will be a welcome addition to a team that was 23rd against the run last year. I am happy to have a durable super bowl winning contributor added to the team. Go Bucs!
March 14th, 2018 at 12:23 pm
He may not make the team. What a joke. Seems like Licht is signing his own walking papers.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:24 pm
This is pathetic man
March 14th, 2018 at 12:25 pm
I’m afraid for our team! It’s like I understand what’s going on tho. They are taking the slow safer route to improving. It could put us in a great position in a few years but they need to stop telling us they are focused on winning now cause it doesn’t seem like they want to win this upcoming season
March 14th, 2018 at 12:35 pm
Welcome to squad son. Happy to have you in the rotation.
Hopefully U help fix this – putrid run defense.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:35 pm
This is one of the “doubles” Ira was talking about. This guy apparently is a very solid rotational player. If they draft Vita Vea, we should be stout up the gut, no matter who’s in the game. Also will be interesting to see how Stevie T is doing.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:36 pm
Not a surprise if you read other sources of Bucs info other than JBF.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:37 pm
Jason “Bargain Players” Licht strikes again
March 14th, 2018 at 12:38 pm
It’s starting to look to me like the Glazers have told Licht not to spend big money this offseason in case Licht/Koetter are shown the door in 10 months.

Hypothetical phone call –
Swaggy: Hello Beau, it’s me Swaggy
Beau: Oh hello Swaggy
Swaggy: Listen, I got a hot tip for you, I know your entering free agency.
Beau: Yeah I am not sure what to do, just want to get paid.
Swaggy: Okay look, sign with the Bucs, do one year instant millionaire.
Beau: Like you just did, how was that?
Swaggy: Are you kidding, hardly ever practiced, no one on the team ever called me out on it, half @$$ effort, old man Smitty and Hayes argued back and forth so much no one ever yelled at me.
Beau: Yeah but isn’t McCoy the team captain? Is he a hard @$$?
Swaggy: Softer than soft serve on the beach in mid July, come get this easy big money.
Beau: Sounds great, I’ll have my agent call Licht. Thanks buddy
March 14th, 2018 at 12:39 pm
Lmao
Real tears.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:44 pm
He’s got more playoff experience then our star McCoy! Yes, that’s how bad it is.

————————————————————————
This guy isn’t a double. He’s a bunt that doesn’t even get on base.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:56 pm
You have to win on 1st and 2nd down if you want to get into good pass rush situations.
March 14th, 2018 at 12:57 pm

GhostofSchiano
LMAO – Good one bruh
March 14th, 2018 at 1:05 pm
Depth signing perhaps? Rotational guy? As long as he’s better than Baker, it’s an upgrade.
March 14th, 2018 at 1:07 pm
If nothing else, at least his hair has a chance at making a sack. That’s a plus, right?!
March 14th, 2018 at 1:09 pm
Why is everyone so down? He will do just fine on our practice squad. After all that is what he was signed for right?
March 14th, 2018 at 1:12 pm
Julius Peppers staying with Panthers.
March 14th, 2018 at 1:24 pm
This season is all about the SCRUBS! I didn’t know there was a strike!
March 14th, 2018 at 1:24 pm
Happy to have Allen over Baker.
Now cut Sweezy!
March 14th, 2018 at 1:30 pm
Brad Culpepper part II.
March 14th, 2018 at 1:36 pm
Three 3rd rate players = one 1st rate player! We all know that. Now we get two more scrubs and it’s just like landing a big name.
March 14th, 2018 at 1:37 pm
LMAO ghostofschiano you got new dying. This is probably exactly how it goes down. Question what’s some options for a new GM???
March 14th, 2018 at 1:38 pm
It’s gonna hurt to see our own John Lynch turn around the 49era in only 2 years
March 14th, 2018 at 1:58 pm
at least he plays DL… That’s something.
