Hopeless …like in 4-12 hopeless….like did our GM take off and go on a cruise hopeless….like will our team continue to regress hopeless! We will be at the bottom once again!! Cheerleaders ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
What’s rediculous is not acquiring Robert Quinn. The other nonmoves suck too.
I am waiting to see what we got after the draft, but the FA pool is not as good as the players that were traded for poennies on the dollar.
I guess Licht has to save his draft picks so he has ammo to trade up for a kicker.
After the nonmoves, if we don’t come away with Bradley Christmas B.B., Saquon Barkley or Quentin. Else, the. I will be very disappointed and dissatisfied if we are unable to land one of those 3 or trade down if their all gone.
I’m okay. Winning free agency didn’t help this team last year or back in 2014. Most teams don’t trade away there good players. Once this team gets close, that when you make a splash trade to put you over top. Right now the fans want trades to be a winning organization, but to win you must build through the draft.
It appears they (Licht and Koetter) don’t trust their decision making when acquiring released or free agent talent, Licht’s strength is in the draft. Be prepared for Licht to make some bold moves and aggresive trades to move up in the draft if they don’t aquire any significant free agent talent. only problem i see is the development of young players, heck they haven’t given their new DL coach anything to work with yet besides cleaning up a current mess.
Just hope they realize this is a make or break year for Licht and Koetter, being close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
Steve – you have been one of the worst “freak out” offenders here of late. Take a valium or something.
2 years of Quinn for $13M per or whatever was likely not worth a 3rd rd pick (which is basically a late 2nd rounder this year). Licht offered our 4th which was a better offer than Miami’s 4th and obviously felt that was all he was comfortable risking on Quinn. That decision may or may not prove to be wise but the decision was made and I understand why – its time to move on.
Free Agency is right around the corner and hundreds of players are coming available. 28 other teams have not acquired any new players yet either.
Everyone needs to let this offseason play out for awhile before getting all upset
Many just don’t understand where the roster actually stands!!!!! The Bucs are not drafting at the bottom of rounds, and need that 1 player to push this team over the hill!!!!!! The roster was wrecked from talk show dominik and loser lovie!!!!!!!!! and now, this offseason, after putting in the resources to “fix the offense” that started in 2015 was a directive straight from the Glazers!!!!!! Now they are going to fix the defense!!!!!!! and to do that you need young, fast, and healthy players!!!!!!!!
Sheep and so-called buc fans will always cry and whine when they see known names being traded and or signed!!!!!
The cold hard fact is that this roster was a full roster rebuild after talk show dominik, just like I told you back then!!!!!!!!
Lol 90% are either hopeless, confused, or want to travel through time to get through this garbage. Jason and Dirk are so screwed if this team doesn’t win next year.
The Funny part is that the one’s freaking out, hopeless and giving up before the league year even starts are the same ones that wanted to see loser lovie for a third year!!!!!!!!
You’re right and I’m sorry. I picked a helluva time to quit smoking.
I hope we get a legit RDE for pass rush purposes. I am skeptical, but will remain faithful as I have the expectation that the Buccaneers will not finish in last place and make a push for the playoffs.
I’m also terrified Jameis will be suspended, thus torpedoing our season.
Jameis will not be suspended Steve. No LEO involvement – no charges – no evidence – no suspension.
And we are not likely to acquire “a legit RDE” this year. There’s not much out there – so better to just assume it won’t happen. Need to bolster the interior of our DL in this years draft which is pretty strong at that position, hope that Spence, Ayers, Gholston and whoever else gets signed or drafted can do an adequate job and look to next years draft where there will be alot more young DE end talent to choose from.
Do you think we have a guy that gets 10+ sacks this year, finally? Quinn could have been that guy. Calais Campbell could’ve been that guy the past year and counting.
I am glad that you think Jameis won’t be suspended. That would be a huge relief to have him in the fold for all 16 games barring injury.
I also think we can’t count on Noah Spence, and VHIII is a bust. I hope I am wrong and both early draft picks pan out this year.
This year we need to step up, and we need to show improvement. Our defense must have a legit edge rush, hence why I am so sour about the lack of acquisitions made to bolster the line.
I picked just show me after the draft. While it sucks missing out on R. Quinn I’m willing to wait. DK and JL know they have to fix the DL. We’ll see what happens. Also, I like what I hear about Nathan Sheperd DT. outta Fort Hayes St. PR has him going in the 2nd/3rd, nfl.com has him projected between the 4th/5th.
The roster was wrecked from talk show dominik and loser lovie!!!!!!!!!
Um, Jason Licht was the GM in 2014 and 2015 not Lovie Smith. If you believe Lovie Smith was calling all the shots in those seasons then Lovie Smith was a better talent scout than Jason Licht. That would mean Lovie made the decisions on Mike Evans, Jameis Winston, Ali Marpet, Kwon Alexander, ASJ (who is thriving elsewhere), Cameron Brate, Adam Humphries….you know, the core guys on this roster.
Want to compare “Lovie’s drafts” with “Licht’s drafts”? How was 2016 compared to “Lovie’s drafts”?
Control of the final 53 is very different than acquiring the draft picks and free agents. You know that Jason Licht owns all of this and the Bucs have a worse winning percentage under Jason Licht than they did under Mark Dominick. That speaks volumes.
My selection was “Other”. Hopeless doesn’t quite cut it. Disappointed is more like it. The Bucs are going to regret not landing Robert Quinn just like they regret not landing Calais Campbell. They needed to bring in an experienced guy on the edge who can produce. There’s no one left unless the Bucs go guns blazing with an over-the-top trade offer.
Given the lack of moves it seems that Jason Licht is sticking to his plan whatever that may be. In some ways I find that admirable to not be swayed by fan pressure, ownership pressure, the pressure to be successful. By the OTA’s we’ll all know whether his decision making was rooted in ignorance or arrogance. I hope it’s the latter.
Yes it has… legal tampering period already began. Winners make moves losers stay the course wait to last minute and get left overs, has beens and injury prone gambles aka buccaneer men. Glazers are not even trying to field a respectable team
Here is one undeniable fact..You can draft the best running back, O-lineman, Safety or CB all you like. Won’t/Don’t mean nothin at all if this sorry A.. Buc defense does not get a pass rush or a hellava lot more pressure than they have been getting. Because the opposing QB is going to eat you alive given time. And thats..Just fact!!
LOVIE took the hit like a man…packed his sh*t and moved on like a man even after being BACK-STABBED by your current, hopeless, clueless GM and Head Coach. Some here wanted a kiss butt goodbye…not his style not mine either! I wonder who will be the POS when this season is over!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!
Legal tampering period starts Monday – get your facts straight Debby Downer.
Steve – I doubt we see 10 sacks from any one player this year – Spence absolutely has that potential IMO but he’s got to stay healthy all year.
Would be somewhat surprised if either Quinn or Campbell gets 10 sacks again this year though. Both have that potential of course as both have done it before. Campbell is as likely as not to either fall back to earth with his stats or not play the whole season due to injury because he’s getting old. We shall see.
Bucs WILL improve this year though. I pretty much guarantee it. Nowhere to go but up. Even without legit edge pass rushers and being short on talent in the backfield on both sides of the ball last year, the overall talent on this team was way better than 5-11 and Koetter/Smith/Entire coaching staff pretty much know its either win or be fired in 2018.
Where’s the don’t give a crap option? The bucs are going to be trash this year again just expect it and move on. They’re the nfc browns with clueless management. Just imagine if they never had that 5 game streak 2 years ago. Lol. Jason licht is a terrible gm I wanted him gone with lovie. Follow the licht!!! Into the toilet bowl!!
Just imagine if they never had that 5 game streak 2 years ago.
Yeah, no kidding. That fluke run got people contract extensions and raises. Decisions were made in the off season to not address certain positions because they thought they were at the cusp for a playoff run in 2017 with most of the guys they had. To be fair most thought that.
