Yes, Martin and Rodgers need to go. Sign/Draft a couple backs, and sign Sims to a team friendly contract in case he gets cut in pre-season.

  2. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Yes, he should stay..he’s come through when needed..it’ll be stupid to let him go..but then again,it’s a Bucs Life..

  3. Bucssuccs Says:

Why keep Charles Sims as a back up running back who’s a one trick pony? His role is just like James White for the patriots. Except James White can actually run hard and not stutter step to the outside. And even then Charles Sims have mediocre hands.

  4. Dan Says:

Serously he’s an absolute bust. Plays when he is in are almost all bad. He’s a fumbler and a lousy runner. Bye Bye.

  5. BrianBucs Says:

Simms had most of his yards and explosive plays playing in the slot at WVU. Bucs haven’t used him right since he’s been here

  6. NFLNut Says:

The answer is YES … if he’s cheap enough. The guy is a fantastic pass-cathing back and is therefore worthy of being on an NFL squad, so to just dump him if he’s willing to accept market value or less would be silly imho.

  7. Lamarcus Says:

Yes. Until his replacement comes about. He has nice ankle breakers but slow

  8. BucEmUo Says:

Barber earned himself 20 carries a game next season

  9. Rod Munch Says:

This poll is proof of why you don’t like dummies on message boards be your GM. LOL! The guy is one of the best 3rd down backs in the league, is one of the best receivers at RB in the league and won’t be expensive to keep. You have to be really really dumb to not want Sims back. Really really dumb.

  10. Pickgrin Says:

Joe – Where’s the option for “If the price is right”? Because that would be my answer.

Quizz makes $1.6M next year. Sims is not worth much more than that IMO.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I say cut them all. None of them are worth keeping.

Cannot do any worse with a whole new group.

  12. adambomb418 Says:

He makes your offense too predictable when in the game.

  13. LakeLand Says:

    TBH,

I don’t see why Charles Sims would want to re-sign with the Bucs. The Bucs has wasted his talents for 4 seasons. He should go a team that know how to utilize his talent.

  14. loggedontosay Says:

    The coaching is the problem.

  15. DB55 Says:

    Rod,

Completely agree with you. It would be really dumb to release a guy who ran for 95 yards last season. You just can’t make-up that kind of production from anyone. Add the 0 TDs he had last season and WOW that kind of production can not be easily replaced.

900 yards and 2 TDs in 4 years – what kind of dummy doesn’t re-sign a rb like that? Glad there’s brilliant fans like you around to keep everyone honest.

  16. LakeLand Says:

    DB55

    21 carries for 95 yards
    4.5 YPC

I hope he don’t re-sign with the pathetic Bucs

  17. NFLNut Says:

    DB55,

RodMunch is right. YOU seem to think Rod wants Simms re-signed to be the #1 back, which would be stupid, but which Rod never said.

Simms is a great 3rd down back … not re-signing him would be stupid. Likewise, re-signing him to be the #1 or even the #2 back would also be stupid … the team needs to re-sign him and understand he is NOTHING more than a 3rd down back.

He’s basically the Adam Humphries of our RB corps … Humphries has NO BUSINESS being a #1, #2 or even #3 next year … but he’s a very good little possession receiver and #4 guy and we’d be stupid not to hang on to him.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

DB55 – I know you’re stuck in the past on everything else, and your hate of McCoy clearly shows you’re a complete and total dope when it comes to personnel, however Sims is a 3rd down back… do you know what that is? Seriously, do you have a clue as to what a 3rd down back does?

    Wow are you dumb.

  19. USFBUC Says:

@everyone – I posted Sims stats over the past two seasons already and he isn’t really that good, his stats are basically identical to Barber’s who is four years younger and putting up the same level of performance for about half the money.

  20. NFLNut Says:

^ Barber is a quality #2 back … Simms is a quality 3rd down back … they do different things for a team …

  21. Getaclue Says:

Simms averaged 4.5 yards a carry this year and really shunned towards the end of the season. I feel like he hasn’t been 100 percent till now. Patriots always keep one guy w his skill set on the team and so should we. Unless we somehow end up w Barkley I think we should retain him
