It is the talent on the roster…not the coaches on the sidelines

I would like to see Koetter remain, bringing in a solid replacement at DC and Quarterbacks Coach…. Additionally, Todd Monken should take over Play calling and all responsibilities that accompany his title as Offensive Coordinator…

No confidence but as I’ve been saying week after week that doesn’t necessarily mean I think Koetter should be fired. I could very easily go from “No Confidence” to “Very Confident” if he sat Drug Martin and Chris Baker for the final game of the season. Make them both DNP-CD. It’s never too late for a Head Coach to make a lasting impression with the team that goes towards changing the culture and turning off the burners under his seat.
If that’s the case then Jason Licht needs to go. Four years is long enough to build a real winner and playoff team. The Bucs under Jason Licht have a worse winning percentage than they did under Mark Dominick. Someone needs to pay the price for this season’s failure.
There’s no reason to believe the Saints, Panthers, or Falcons are going to be worse next year. Even with the Saints they believe they have their next QB on the roster already should Brees retire.

D-ROME
how can you say you have no confidence in dirk but say you don’t think he deserves to be fired?….
what gives you confidence from what you’ve seen this season, that leads you to believe he’s the man for the job…..
you want to keep a coach that you and others have no confidence in?…..doesn’t make sense…..GO BUCS!!!!

813bucboi,
Just about all coaches need more than two years to fully evaluate whether they are the right person for the job for the long term. It’s why I felt it was a stupid decision to fire Lovie Smith and Koetter’s 9-7 season had little to do with what he was doing on the sidelines. Bucs would have likely gone 9-7 under Lovie. Quite frankly, if Lovie was “inept” then Dirk has been more inept this year.
Still, I think there is a difference between Koetter’s failures this year vs. someone like Ben McAdoo. McAdoo deserved to be fired as he was a cause of locker room disruption and organizational unrest. I don’t believe for a second Dirk Koetter has done that. He had a bad year. Even the New England Patriots took a step backwards during Belichick’s first year.
I hope the Glazer’s haven’t made up their mind on Koetter yet. He should be given the full 16 games to evaluate the season. I said it in another thread but sitting Doug Martin and Swaggy Baker would go a very long way for him and the team moving forward. Do you think Bill Belichick would let Swaggy’s antics go unpunished?

the only difference between to 2 is the way they lost….yeah McAdoo lost the locker room but you have to put dirks coaching decisions making and play calling into question….those same bad play calls and poor decision(personnel clock management) have cost us games this year and last year….that cant be ignored….
pats may have took a step back in first year which is understandable….new coach…new system….but what happened his second year?…improvement….superbowl I believe….
now im not says every coach has to be bill but you have to show improvement from year to year….that hasn’t happened this year….
I don’t see how sitting 2 players on a 4-11 team with nothing to play for helps his case….that should’ve been done weeks ago….that would’ve been a bigger/better statement to the team….
no doubt bill would’ve punished baker but do you think baker would act like he does if he were a member of the pats?….bill sets the tone and expectations for that team….not brady….not the defense…..I think players like doug, baker, tj ward, djax see right thru dirk….they may respect him as a man but as a coach and leader of men, nawl…..and thats a problem…GO BUCS!!!!

Pablo says no confidence.
Lovie Smith was not Tennessee ready.
Dirk Koetter was not 2017 ready.

Koetter lost all respect for not suspending Mr. Magoo the last game of the season for the tirade. The whole team saw this. All of the fans saw this. He would have gained respect for the decision. There is a major disconnect when 75% of the fans of this poll have little or no confidence. He has gained no traction in these polls because he refuses to do the right thing.

So over the last 5-weeks Dirk went from 7% (Nov 22) having no confidence in him to now having 47% have no confidence in him.
That’s a bad trend line.
