Another quiet day
DeSean Jackson has seven games this season in which he’s had 40 receiving yards or less.
It’s awesome that the Bucs signed Jackson for $11 million per season in March. Joe was all for it. But why can’t Dirk Koetter figure out how to use him?
Joe doesn’t want to hear any BS spin.
Those numbers above are unacceptable. They might be tolerable if Mike Evans was lighting things up, but he’s not.
Joe wonders what Team Glazer is thinking seeing Jackson more invisible than visible. It can’t be pretty.
Through 12 games, Jackson’s lack of productivity is stunning. And what makes it more stunning is that coaches have praised his work ethic and leadership and focus.
No, this isn’t on Jackson, who turned 31 last week.
It just feels like the Bucs flushed a season from a guy who probably arrived with only two strong years remaining in his body.
As this season closes out, Joe sure hopes Koetter figures out how to make Jackson a weapon. Otherwise, there’s really no reason to keep him next year. Trade him and use the cash on a pass rusher. Let Chris Godwin start and draft another receiver in the third or fourth round.

I like DJax but it’s one of the biggest wastes of money this team has ever made.
Totally ignorant to use your spending money in the passing game(our only strength coming into the season) while the other 3 facets of the game all had gaping holes.
This ignorant coaching staff has actually made the one strong part of the team get worse. I honestly would like to see an interim HC at this point. I just don’t see any other options at this point.

Brate and Hump are Jaboo’s locks underneath, in the slot and in the seam…all while Evans and Jackson run loooooong developing routes cribbed off of Dan Coryell’s playbook. It’s a proven system. Why would we ever think to scheme to our strengths? That’s crazy talk.

More weapons for Winston in 2018… ignore defense again in free agency. Draft another TE WR at the top of the draft. Licht is a joke and Koetter / Smith could not win with Ryan , Jones , Gonzalez in ATL…. told y’all falcon fans could not wait for them to get ran out of town.

Worry not, Jackson will return to his 1200 yards per season form next year, after the Bucs cut him and he lands on a team that has a QB who can throw a deep pass with accuracy, like he had his first 10 years in the league with two different franchises and 4-5 different QB’s.
Only the Bucs can render insignificant one of the best deep threats in the history of the NFL. It leads one to question the decision to sign him, right?

There is no gurantee in high draft picks…just let the Bucs play…their best…smh…there is a lesson in learning to compete.
Gosh Buc up…we are on the same journey that other teams has had to overcome…winning season last year with a less than stellar team, losing season this year on an identity quest so just BUC UP!!!

A higher draft pick is nothing but another player wasted especially if it’s a running back, dirk already had too many offensive weapons he’ll have no idea what to do with another weapon his brain would explode. These idiots will probably once again try to justify keeping Doug Martin on the roster for “insurance”

It’s not Jackson’s fault the offense is terrible. Exactly Evans hasn’t been doing anything either. Their is a bigger problem at hand and it’s not the weapons

DONT MAKE EXCUSE TO TRADE PLAYER TO USE CASH JOE!! we have plenty of cash under cap every year that has never been an issue. (cap room)
This comes down to coaches putting him in position to make plays and a QB that can get him the ball in stride. Atlanta made sure to get JULIO the ball and did, we just dont have matty ice throwing the ball on target.
We need jackson next year and we have more than enough money to keep him, get rid of dead weight (martin,conte-age,)
