One-Dimensional Loss

December 3rd, 2017

Horrendous day doesn’t matter.

The Bucs achieved the dream of every defensive coordinator in the NFL today — and they managed to lose anyway.

This overtime loss never should have happened.

Jiminy Christmas! Packers QB Brett Hundley was 13-for-22 for 84 yards with an early interception. He was brutal. The Bucs totally made the Packers one-dimensional.

But the Bucs gave up the booty on the ground and in overtime in the second half when it mattered. Did they not know what was coming?

Defenses dream of choking off a facet of an offense like that, yet somehow for the Bucs it didn’t matter. Mike Smith is either very unlucky or very bad.

Last Joe checked, the Packers weren’t lining up Adrian Peterson in his prime (or against the Bucs early this season). There was no Pro Bowl candidate toting the rock on that side of the ball.

The Packers’ offensive line is not special.

Jordy Nelson had five catches for 17 yards. When does that happen? Yet the Bucs lost.

Paper or plastic?

yet all these dumarses keep putting all the blame on winston while giving captain blowout another free pass because he and his pansy arse defense can’t hold a lead

  2. Season Is Over Says:

No one cares as long as McCoy made $500,000 per tackle.

  3. ATLBucsfan Says:

It was easy to see that in the fourth quarter the Packers were not going to let Hundley throw the ball! Yet our defense couldn’t see that? Really? No closing down the A gaps, no LBs coming up to stop them. Ugh. Sad. Really sad.

  4. JWBUCS Says:

The Bucs form of play was disgusting!

  5. Frank Pillow Says:

Just a downright heartless and humiliating effort at the end of the game by the D. There were loafs aplenty throughout the 4th quarter and even OT. The film don’t lie. Equally disappointing is a coaching staff that refuses to make meaningful adjustments and/or recognize how they’re being attacked. This should be the end of the line for Licht, Smith, and Dirk von Dirk Dirk.

  6. Crazed Fan Says:

His name is Jamies not Jesus. He made a mistake, But he came back with some gutsy plays and took the lead. That’s what Tom Brady would have done and you all would have said he never quits!!! That’s what I WANT my quarterback to do, erase mistakes and take the damn lead!!!

  7. EA Says:

Nothing but a bunch of tired bodies in the D line, need to inject some youth next year when Harbaugh takes over.

  8. JimmyJack Says:

I don’t understand how this team comes out at halftime and just continues to get beat with the rush. They come out in OT and continue to get beat with the rush. This is a lack of preparation, game planning and adjustment. Well coached teams are prepared and make the adjustment before the half.

Complete butchery by the coaching staff starting with Dirk.

Our offense is completely unable to take away the pass rush when their QB is under duress……..We just continue to drop back seven steps and play right into their hands. This HC totally sucks

  9. Hodad Says:

We could’ve won this one if only McCoy had some help! Just a joke tmaxcon.

  10. Greg Says:

Many players get new contract and take plays off. I think smith quit coaching a while ago. If it happens w players it happens w coaches

  11. Grt1 Says:

It’s fishing season boys!!!!!! Jameis did protect the ball better in the second half man O line got their butts handed to them Jameis had no time and couldn’t get his rhythm. E Smith killed us today. We’re going to get murdered these next few games

  12. tmaxcon Says:

    Hodad

every player the bucs try to bring in to help mccoy turns to crap… they meet that soft POS quitter and it sucks the life out of them and will to win… the legacy of that little beotch you are a fan of his the FACE OF THE BASEMENT years… mccoy has never and will never win a meaningful game with the bucs. captain blowout is a career loser with a smile the results prove it.

  13. JimmyJack Says:

Same thing happened with Carolina……We drop back all day and just allow their pass rush to tee off on us. The result is our QB throwing off his heels being forced into mistakes and an Oline committing fouls as their only resort.

All the investment in the passing game and a HC who has little ability to use the weapons at his disposal.

Same crap on Defense……Four probowler caliber players and a defense designed to give them little ability to make plays.

Our coaching staff looks like boys amongst men out there…..They are ruining any talent we have on the team and their disgraceful record of 4 wins against bottom tier rebuilding teams proves it.

    Media retreat suppression fire…….cover fire

  15. Rrsrq Says:

The question for me is why do our defensive ends always let qbs get around the edge, they always pinch in first, is that lack of talent, coaching, both

  16. kgh4life Says:

    @EA

I like your thinking EA, i also suggested Harbaugh: he’s tough and has a great offensive mind which is needed to help develop Winston.

  17. tmaxcon Says:

    kgh4life

why would harbaugh take a pay cut to come to one of the most embarrassing sports franchises on the entire planet. leaving a prestige college position which is far more rewarding financially than coming to a small market disgrace of a nfl franchise. no one, players or coaches want to come to this crap show ran by the glazer clowns. it’s not a desirable location…. there is no hope until the tv money gets cut in half and the owners does us bucs fans a favor and eliminate the team.

  18. D-Rome Says:

Mike Smith is either very unlucky or very bad.

Worse than Lovie. That’s what he is.

  19. tmaxcon Says:

contracting the bucs would be mercy to all buc fans.

Sidenote…my just reminded me that Brett is the first backup QB we played and kept under 300 yda 😂

  21. NFLNut Says:

    *******

Jameis looked very good, as he always does when he’s healthy, but the Bucs should have lost to the Jets and Phins on purpose to get a higher pick … but hey, it could be worse, Tampa could be stuck with Mariota at QB, a guy who has more picks than TD’s and has to be literally carried by his running game and defense to victory … the Bucs future is still brighter than most teams … I just wish they played in the weak AFC South instead of the murderous NFC South

    *******

  22. NFLNut Says:

    **************

Knowledgeable fans know that a QB only contributes about 5-10% to a team’s end result … that said, it didn’t matter that Jameis was infinitely better than Packers QB Hundley as the Packers are a far better TEAM than the Buccaneers … it’s the story of Tarkenton’s, Fouts, Marino’s and Moon’s career …

Anyways, Jameis looked very good, as he always does when he’s healthy, but the Bucs should have lost to the Jets and Phins on purpose to get a higher pick … but hey, it could be worse, Tampa could be stuck with Mariota at QB, a guy who has more picks than TD’s and has to be literally carried by his running game and defense to victory … the Bucs future is still brighter than most teams … I just wish they played in the weak AFC South instead of the murderous NFC South

  23. not there yet Says:

Ultimately this lots falls at the feet of the head coach who accepts the defensive game plan he’s given every week. This guy can’t be given credit for anything anymore. Waiting for someone to at least give him credit for developing Winston lol. Dumpster fire and that was going to be the easiest win the rest of the year so now that you know he probably won’t win anymore games this year it’s time to start talking about potential head coaches

  24. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Look at the bright side of all this.
We played the Packers at home, and gave them a scare.
Ok, we lost at the very end, but we scared the heck out of a stadium full of Cheeseheads, until the last minute.
A win would have done us no good, our season is over.
But, this means better draft picks, for next year.

  25. Who Dat Says:

Man U is worth how many billion? It’s the only team that wins the Glazer’s care about

  26. Hodad Says:

tmax, I agree with you. I’m not a McCoy fan, he’s part of a larger problem, certainly not the solution.

  27. cgmaster Says:

The defensive Ends in particular were horrid in this game. multiple times they lost edge contain on a qb running a read option on them. They act like they haven’t seen that play all season. Just horrible defensive line play and they couldn’t have been tired in the 4th. The offense was killing time of possession all through the first three quarters.
