Here it says UBER does not charger per passenger
Does Uber Charge Per Person?
One of the most common questions that we hear day in & day out is “So does Uber charge you for each passenger with you?” – and it’s honestly a great question. If you remotely care about your own financials, then it’s good to know things like this.
Uber charges for multiple passengers
Answer:
No. You are not charged per passenger.*
* = Hopefully you realized the asterisk alongside that answer. Let me explain.
While it’s true that the cost of your fare has nothing to do with how many of your friends/passengers ride with you – there is some “fine print” to that statement that you should be aware getting a surprise charge costing you an arm and a leg.
Each car service option has a passenger limit to how many people are allowed to ride in the car; regardless of the actual seat count of the car – in a sense. Let me further explain…
A real-life example that I’ve personally gone through a handful of times in the past:
Scenario –
You are with a group of friends/family members/business associates/whatever. You’re all trying to go to the same destination; but you might need to take two cars since there’s 5-6 of you guys.
Where you’re going, you want to pull up in style 🙂 – So one of you request an UberBLACK car.
You’re all aware of the 4 passenger limit per black car – so you all figure that someone else will simply have to request an additional ride.
But wait! The black car arrives to pick you up. You got lucky! It’s actually, technically, an UberSUV – a high end luxury “black car” SUV – and you had just requested a black car that supposedly could only fit 4 – but you & all of your friends can fit in this single SUV that’s now here! Score!
So you all hop in the nice SUV and you’re joyous since you all got to ride together instead of being split apart into two groups. AND you think you’re getting this all for just the price of an UberBLACK – as that’s all you had requested through the app (not an UberSUV which you technically got – as they qualify for both categories).
Sound familiar? Have you gone through this same experience? No?
Well, unfortunately when it seems too good to be true; it generally is.
After the trip is finished – you guys arrive at your destination. You quickly receive the emailed receipt from Uber. You will likely then realize that the driver took notice of the fact that you had more than the 4 passenger limit that UberBLACK has; so they are actually able to charge you for the UberSUV service instead.
Now…if you request a black car, get lucky and get picked up in a nice luxury UberSUV – which happens from time to time – and you have 4 passengers or less in the car (including you); the sly “change of car service rates” change can not and will not happen.
They can only change your rates from the UberBLACK tier to UberSUV (example still stands for other services like UberX as opposed to receiving an UberXL/SUV pickup by chance) if you have more than four passengers (including you) when you took the ride in the SUV; but you had originally just requested an UberBLACK car.

Listen the Steeler’s didnt cut ties with Ben Roethlisberger after his two sex charges so why should the Bucs cut Winston if found guilty of lesser charge??

Listening to you guys I do think there is one positive behind this story.
It is in #3’s interest…it is in the Buc’s interest…and best of all it’s in the NFL’s best interest to get this taken care of NOW!!! This is bad PR for more than just the Bucs…given the current climate and all the sex charges swirling…new ones every day…the NFL wants this to disappear. Given that motivation and Jameis wealth I predict we’ll be alright by Christmas.

Bucs need to get what they can for him at draft time and get the new “franchise” QB in the draft…I’ve seen and heard enough, he aint that good…

Apples/oranges.
1. Ben was already an established Super Bowl-winning quarterback. As much as Joe likes Jameis, he’s not exactly established. (which was discussed in podcast.)
2. We live in different times. Just check the news of the day. (which was discussed in podcast.)
3. If sponsors start bailing (which was discussed in podcast.)

Darby’s credibility is shot, not only because he was involved in the earlier alleged rape, damning though that be. He also gave an immediate reaction which described a rape in progress, only to reverse himself later, after talking to Winston’s lawyer. AND he video-taped the alleged rape, then erased the video AND threw away the cell phone recorder. These facts are a matter of record and I’m certain both you and Ira know it. Also, this is the third allegation of sexual assault against Winston. Again, I’m sure you guys know this, but continually refer to this as the second. It’s not.
Joe knows of no third sexual assault allegation. Feel free to share. –Joe

Joe, when Kinsman went to the FSU authorities to file her report, the FSU Victim’s Advocate informed her that this was the 2nd allegation of sexual assault against Winston. This was reported by multiple sources at the time
Wrong! Let’s get it straight, please.
Per the NY Times, and other reports.
“A month before the rape accusation became public, the university’s victim advocate learned that a second woman had sought counseling after a sexual encounter with Mr. Winston, according to the prosecutor’s office. The woman did not call it rape — she did not say “no.” But the encounter, not previously reported, “was of such a nature that she felt violated or felt that she needed to seek some type of counseling for her emotions about the experience,” according to Georgia Cappleman, the chief assistant state attorney, who said she had spoken with the advocate but not with the woman.”

Let’s split hairs, shall we? “Felt violated” could be a form of assault, no? I did not say rape, but FSU’s Victim Advocate clearly felt this incident was relevant to Kinsman’s report.
C’mon, you wrote that you didn’t understand why we were ignoring the “third allegation” of sexual assault. There is no allegation of assault here. The “felt violated” you wrote here is also accompanied by an “or” and the newspaper didn’t even talk to the victim, who, per the report, says she didn’t say “No.” This just doesn’t qualify as an allegation, not close.–Joe
