Bucs In A Messy, Messy Place

November 17th, 2017

Team Glazer will have a lot to consider

Joe feels punched in the gut.

The fresh allegations against America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, are a disaster for the Buccaneers franchise.

Oh sure, maybe everything ends happily ever after. But what are the odds of that happening at this point?

Jameis is the face of the franchise and, justified or not, Jameis has a big pile of feces smeared on his face right now. He’s been accused of groping — as a Buccaneer. That’s a lot different than being accused when you’re not a Buccaneer.

And while Jameis denied the charge today, he did not deny being in the car within arms length of the female Uber driver whose crotch he is accused of grabbing without permission in March of 2016. Combine that with the fact she filed a complaint to Uber shortly after the alleged incident, that means legions of Bucs fans will declare Jameis guilty regardless of what happens next.

That public conviction is a huge problem for the Bucs. Again, Jameis is the unquestioned “face” of the franchise.

Joe hears fans already screaming “Ben Roethlisberger’s situation was much worse, so this is no big deal for Jameis.” Joe counters by saying this is a very big deal — in a different era in this country, and Jameis isn’t a quarterback with a Super Bowl under his belt like Roethlisberger was when he was accused of sexual assault.

No, Joe is not saying Jameis hasn’t won enough to be a criminal. But the reality is Team Glazer will be weighing Jamies’ value to the franchise in the coming days, and Jameis’ stock has plummeted, fair or unfair.

At best, the team, which is firmly in the NFC South basement, is in an incredibly unstable state.

Remember, Bucs general manager Jason Licht, the guy who led the investigation into Jameis’ character, does not have a contract for the 2018 season. And the Chucky-to-the-Bucs/Koetter’s-gone rumors have gone national in a big way — with Team Glazer doing nothing to throw water on that fire.

If the Bucs lose Sunday to the lowly Dolphins, it’s going to get so darn ugly around here — even uglier than it is tonight.

No team needs a win more than the Bucs do on Sunday.

    Atleast the Lightning are good!

  2. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I in now way want this to happen. But I see the glazers considering firing Koetter (maybe Licht) bringing in Chucky, and idk if they move on from JW now or not. But Kirk Cousins is gonna be out there🤔🤔

  3. NJBucs Says:

And the best part is…… I will be in attendance! I am bringing my 1-8 record for watching the Bucs to Miami. Oh boy, how excited I am!

  4. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe

This is a very messy situation, that even as much as I like the coaches could bring a big broom to one Buc for the top down!!!!!!! For the moment, maybe we can find this guy so he can be the “face of the francise” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glCRe7cSqhw

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Chris in WA Says:

Time to start seriously considering Kirk Cousins. He had chemistry with DJax and could connect on the deep ball.

  6. Nate Says:

LOL…..its sad but a chucky one more chance under a backup to starter mayfield ….or flowers 2nd rd…..bring back the creamsickles #whatlavontesaid
and redo the pirate on some mean stick carrying ssssshhhh

re hire gruden brooks gm like sf did w/ lynch and make this right….you’ve BEEN promising a place with the organization….

clean this up w/ a whole new talented offense this time for gruden and brooks can build up the D how it was b4 montee and he broke down hurt in the last game and never played again

they hugged superbowl …..that’s what this team needs glazers that hug with grudens offense with this offense and brooks idealogy on defense….

  7. Joel Says:

Guilty until proven innocent. The new normal in this country. So sad.

This happened over a year and a half ago and doesn’t come out until now?

    Something is super fishy.

  8. America's Groper Says:

I tried to tell you about what i am about on the cafeteria’s table at FSU

  9. 911bucs Says:

    Realist,
Omg that ( YouTube Link) is hilarious. Well done sir!

  10. Nate Says:

1st choice / baker mayfield only QB to have over 70% comp percentage I don’t care what D your in as long as its Double A

    OR lamar jackson

    2nd quentin flowers

GO all d line o line rb

Books and Gruden….like I heard here from the top down brooooooooommmm!!!

  11. Dom is gone Says:

Joel you think all the actress coming out against the pigs In Hollywood are all making things up because it been years since assaults took place? You guys defending Jamies… hope your daughters end up in a car with him… with his history it’s more likely he is guilty than innocent

  12. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Open the vault for Gruden, while at it, get Cousins in here too..

  13. Reedo Says:

I was a big Jameis fan during his FSU days. Hoped my way through the rape charge. Been okay with him as our QB. But if true, this would kill it for me. I don’t need the drama. And I see it as a self control/discipline issue. I don’t doubt his dedication and drive but I’m not alone in being concerned about the self control. This would be just another red flag on that concern. It’s indicative of a personal problem that shows itself on the field. Not to mention the stink of the offense. Not worth it.

  14. Waterboy Says:

With his history hopefully he’s smarter than that. I’ll reserve judgement for now until more details are available.

  15. The Buc Realist Says:

A lot has been said about our QB today!!! I think everyone needs to take a step back until the facts and more of the investigation comes to light!!!!!! The only “fact” we definitely know at this point is that clearly our QB is no homo!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Captain Big Stick Says:

    Lets Go Magic!

  17. lightningbuc Says:

    SIEGE THE CROTCH!

  18. Jameis Weinstein Says:

All of this falls on Jason Lichts shoulders. Fire Jason Licht, Dirk Koetter. Face it, clean the house. Every position on this team sucks. Anyone can do better staff wise. To top things off, I say go DE first round, RB second round, CB third round . . . Honestly next year should have a better Quarterback selection than this years.

  19. Warrenfb12 Says:

Why would gruden come here if Jameis is toast?

  20. Nate Says:

Josh Allen to bucs 2018..he throws on the run no worse than jameis maybe even better..bring on gruden and brooks….CLEAN THIS UP GLAZERS….

bring back the killerkreamsicles!!!!!!! #lavontedavidsaidit #onlywaytofixthismessglazers

  21. Chris Says:

The guy who was accused of rape, stood on the table and said grab her in the p,,,y should never find himself in a situation, seated next to a female thats no his,,, eife, gf, sister or mother. Just shows more signs of a immature, no common sense or lack of judgement guy on and off thr field. It might not be too long before he finds himself pissing on the cockroaches on the front porch of a dilapidated house in Alabama.

  22. Wesley Says:

Lets reserve judgment for now, nothing is proven. She could easily be full of crap.

  23. Capt. Blighe Says:

If not for Jameis History this would not be a big deal. If the Gruden thing has any truth to it at all, Winston would be a big part of the lure for him. Now I think this hurts the chance of getting Gruden.

  24. Serge Says:

Cuting Reedy and promoting Martino makes no sense, unless he likes to use Winstons Uber account.

  25. Not there yet Says:

What are the chances he gets caught in this type of situation in college then in the pros but it’s innocent in both cases? Innocent until proven guilty sure but it’s too much coincidence. Lol I’d rather him fail a drug test and claim second hand smoke than groping a woman. Koetter had these same issues in his college program and not that it’s his fault but after the fiasco in New Orleans this teams needs a coach with testicular fortitude to handle this football team

  26. America's Groper Says:

Don’t worry Bucs Fan, me and my cuz Zeke in the Big D got this.

  27. Not there yet Says:

Let’s hope Bernard Reedy was the one in the driver’s seat and that’s why he got cut. We can hope

  28. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

This season just keeps getting better and better…

  29. D.L. Says:

Why would we want Chucky back? I got tired of all those winning seasons and playoff appearances. Morris, Schiano, Smith, and Koetter have been a nice change of pace.

  30. Dom is gone Says:

He can always use his lack of accuracy as a defense… reaching for the crotch he more tha likely would have touched her knee or shoulder???

  31. Mike n Says:

Man, this sucks. At least this takes the focus off the idiotic way he acted during the saints games. That was terrible and it happened. The allegations are just that and who knows, innocent until guilty. I believe Tom Brady and zeke were innocent but they still missed games

  32. Nate Says:

gruden coach/ brooks gm….baker Mayfield rebuld both lines offense and defense and secondary add rb = 10 wins …..give gruden that ill roll the dice on a run and shoot offense and qb with all this talent and derrick brooks to fix the D

bring back the creamsickles redo the pirate….bring back a complete new vibe and the playoff vibe creamsickles ….

    #lavontesaidit…..only fix glazers

  33. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Hmm Arizona needs a QB so maybe they just unleashed this crap just because they know the Bucs are in disarray hoping that we do something stupid and get rid of Jameis. Just like some of the other great QBs we let go. What a dumb move that would be. Also I can say is their is something definitely odd with timing of this story and hope I just hope the Glazers wait for factual evidence. If we get rid of Jameis with no facts I will quit as a long time season ticket holder of the Bucs. It’s as simple as that. I respect Jameis and I find it sad how many are just jumping to conclusions on him. Most are trying to destroy a young mans life. When judgment is due we will talk until then he is innocent until proven guilty so respect that people. You would want the same. Go Bucs! I’ll pray for you Jameis for your protection.

  34. Jason Says:

Move on from the QB, Coach and GM. What a hot steaming Pile of Dung we look like. Absolutely embarrassing for sure

  35. Nate Says:

have gruden and brooks keep mike smith…..he just needs better evaluation from a player perspective

gruden /smith ….brooks gm done deal!!!

  36. FortMyersDave Says:

Interesting timing for this to come out. Joe, I may be incorrect but it seems like you think Big Ben gets a pass because of his numbers and Jameis is guilty until proven innocent? I get the comparisons: Jameis is no Brady or Peyton Manning and just linking him to Big Ben makes him “appear” guilty…..Methinks the Uber driver is trying to cash in on the “situation” in this country with everyone being accused of sexual harassment from Senator Al Franken on down the list…. If there was something to this, the driver would have spoke up sooner. Love that the St Pete Times has this on page one instead of the serial killer in Seminolle Heights/Sulfur Springs. Feeding frenzy for the anti-Buc crowd: have at it!

  37. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

We as Bucs fans can at least be proud that Jameis grabs a wattle bottle with one hand and doesn’t look like a b!t@h while drinking it.

  38. Bucnut2 Says:

Some of us were saying his character concerns made him a risky pick. I sincerely hope he is innocent of this. Given his past, not sure he is.

  39. Pickgrin Says:

“Jameis’ stock has plummeted, fair or unfair”

And why is that? Because of an allegation made against Jameis with no proof whatsoever for something that happened almost 2 years ago?

No police report. No proof of wrongdoing. No mention of this or objection about the alleged incident by anyone for 20 months. And Jameis vehemently denies any wrong doing in reference to the “reported incident”.

But he’s guilty in the court of public opinion because the NFL (trying to save face)decided to look into this (2 years after the fact) since they botched the Elliot “incident” so badly?

    Stinks to high heaven.

Innocent until proven guilty is the law of the land – unless you are an African American NFL Quarterback apparently…

  40. feelthepewterpower Says:

Why is this coming out now? Why not March 2016??

  41. Dave Says:

What an awful season this turned out to be.

  42. Dom is gone Says:

Why does the F in time frame matter???? If he did it he is a POS !

  43. Pickgrin Says:

    Bucnut2 Says

“I sincerely hope he is innocent of this” (Goes outside and does a couple cartwheels then pops the bottle of special champagne he’s been saving)

  44. Buc4lyfe79 Says:

I place the short comings of this years team SOLEY on the shoulders of the Glazers. THEY desired this team to be on Hard Knocks. A team that was so young and immature that they believed their own week 1 press clippings from last year. Doesn’t mater that they were able to realize and partially live up to their potential by going on a win streak to finish out last year. Just because you can come together as a unit and start to realize your potential, doesn’t suddenly make a core bunch of young 20 something year olds mature. And what transpired while Hard Knocks was in town this year? Showboating for the cameras, more effort in playing to the cameras instead of serious effort on the practice fields of training camp, something the head coach was CONSTANTLY harping about. Shame on the Glazers for wanting to push their young unaccomplished team out into the lime light based on their paper potential without actually having sustained success already on the record and showing they were mature enough in their development first to maintain it as the norm. As far as #3 goes with this newest set of questionable circumstances, I don’t personally believe that JW is stupid enough to have committed such an act and think he could get away with it, not to mention risk sacrificing his entire career in the process, but what I do fault JW for is obviously STILL having the kind of people hanging around him that would commit such an act. Sooner or later, you’re judged by the company you keep, and if he’s still keeping that kind of company, he obviously isn’t as smart or mature as he tries to present himself out to be. And it should also make everyone wonder, why if commiting such an act is not in your character, why you would keep the company of those who do have that little of character….Never stopped being a “Bucs Life” smh…Boy, as a fan do I feel SEIGED right now, crappy english and all.

  45. The Buc Realist Says:

A lot has been said about our QB today!!! I think everyone needs to take a step back until the facts and more of the investigation comes to light!!!!!! The only “fact” we definitely know at this point is that clearly our QB is no H0m0!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. HooliganSixx Says:

not good. very difficult to support Jameis. too much BS surrounding Jameis, this coaching staff, GM and the organization in general. it is time to bring in some real football people to run this. JAX looks much more stable with Tom Coughlin helping call the shots up there. we need a calming influence and somebody to light a fire. people with a successful history in the BUCS Org.

    1. New GM Derrick Brooks
    2. New HC Jon Gruden
    3. New DC Hardy Nickerson
    4. New OC Keenan McCardell

  47. Dom is gone Says:

Only fact we know is our QB had been accused multiple times as being a POS sexual predator!

  48. SteelStudBuc Says:

Trade him to the Bengals. They don’t care about that kinda stuff.

  49. Chris in WA Says:

For everyone saying “No proof” or “Why didn’t she come forward in 2016” there is proof (although it is limited so far) and she did come forward in 2016 to Uber.

Nobody, including Jameis, denies he was in the car that night. Nobody, including Jameis, denies that a complaint was filed shortly afterwards to Uber about the incident and that Jameis’s account was suspended afterwards.

As to why someone wouldn’t come forward? Some people don’t want the stress that can come with all the media attention and harassment from others. She is not claiming to be a victim of a brutal rape or anything that serious, just groping. Maybe she didn’t view it seriously enough to warrant charges and the ensuring media circus that would have accompanied. As to why someone would come forward now: You would have to be living under a rock the past 4 weeks to not know why. Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and others are being accused and actually admitting to it so these accusations aren’t always unfounded. Women (and men like Terry Crews) now feel empowered and safe to come forward.

  50. Dave Says:

Considering Goodell suspends players with only an allegation, Jameis is going to be missing some games next year no matter what.

  51. AlteredEgo Says:

    LOL….what a circle fire squad we are….

  52. ClodHopper Says:

I don’t care if he did it or not. He’s still my quarterback.

  53. JimmyJack Says:

What bothers me is that we will likely never know if Winston is guilty or not. It will be he/said, she/said. Somebody involved will be proven to be a liar and us fans will never know which.

I don’t know if I want to continue supporting Winston or if I wish him an exit from the NFL. The only hope is that this allegation turn out differently then those before it and the truth comes out but that likely won’t happen.

This guy will get suspended and we will know little more then we do today. No fun rooting for a QB with negative clouds over his head. We will see what happens…….fair or unfair but I will likely be calling for a new QB in this town.

  54. Dom is gone Says:

Clodhopper hope your sister or daughter is next… y’all defending him are probably same pieces of crap that cheered for a Jeremy Stevens who raped a young lady…. oh and all you Gruden fans he’s the one who turned a blind eye to Stevens…. would probably praise Winston for rape … Groping

  55. Macklemore Says:

It is important to note that Winston issued this statement: “The accusation is false, and given the nature of the allegation and increased awareness and consideration of these types of matters, I am addressing this false report immediately. At the time of the alleged incident, I denied the allegations to Uber, yet they still decided to suspend my account.” Note the language: “I am addressing this false report immediately,” but then he goes on to say that “I denied the allegations, yet they still decided to suspend my account” So he didn’t immediately address the issue. Uber suspended his account when the driver reported this incident–if you were accused of groping an Uber driver and Uber suspended your account, wouldn’t you speak up before now? Wouldn’t Just wondering.

  56. Rayjay1122 Says:

We have officially surpassed the Browns at ineptitude and chaos. WTG Bucs.

  57. Eric Says:

Time to move on, the ship is sinking and it’s time for some people on this ship to walk the plank! 1st in line is the inaccurate one. I knew this guy was garbage both on and off the field. Look at the track record FSU fan boys! Between the crab legs, sexual assault in college, head butting a player, licking his fingers, starting a problem with Lattimore while benched and getting our best player suspended and now again with sexual misconduct. Some of you refuse to accept what he really is, a POS! I’m sorry, maybe one sexual allegation but two in less than 5 years .

  58. Eric Says:

Plus he has a losing record and can’t throw a deep ball. Yeah lets keep him!

  59. ClodHopper Says:

Jameis is just the first domino. There will be more just like there was more from Hollywood and the government.

Does anyone reallly believe that alpha male, professional athletes full of testosterone are choir boys to the ladies while out with the guys? And in their sexual prime to boot!!

  60. JimmyJack Says:

Macklemore…..It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that speaking up publicly would not be in Winstons best interest.

You seem to be trying to uncover clues from his statement which won’t get you anywhere……….The guy is a millionaire with an agent and great support system for public statements. Your going to have a hard time finding any incriminating evidence from a statement, especially in written form.

Don’t quit your day job P.I.

  61. Eric Says:

There is a saying in Tennessee, I know it’s in Texas probably in Tennessee ,it says Fool me once shame on you- Fool me, can’t get fooled again.
    George W. BUSH

  62. FortMyersDave Says:

RayJay1122! Bucs no where near the ineptitude of either the Giants or Browns. One allegation does not make a 1-15 or 0-16 franchise!

  63. JimmyJack Says:

    Clod you are a idiot

  64. Republican17 Says:

I’d play my Trump card and declare “the president said it’s okay “

  65. Warrenfb12 Says:

I think we all feel punched in the gut

  66. EA Says:

Thanks Lovie for setting this team back another decade.
“I am VEEERY Disappointed, Simple as that.”

  67. ClodHopper Says:

    Jimmy

You might want to practice breathing out of your nose and picking your knuckles up off the floor

  68. Macklemore Says:

You don’t have to be a choir boy not to grope women without their permission. Somehow I can’t see Mariota doing this–or even being remotely associated with something like this.

  69. cmurda Says:

@Joe. He did deny being in the front seat so, yes, he would be more than an arm’s length away.

  70. Volbuc1 Says:

Your boy Chucky ain’t never coaching Tampa again especially now. He will be laughing all the way to Rocky Top!! Good luck Tampa. Carma is a bi$:h.

  71. cmurda Says:

@Macklemore. Why would Winston say anything about his Uber account being suspended before this? That makes no sense? His issue would be with Uber, not the public.

  72. LakeLand Says:

Groping women wasn’t a big deal on 11-8-2016

65 million people voted for Trump

Trump was on tape bragging about it

  73. Ken G Says:

    Things not mentioned enough today:
    1. he was loaded in public. Who do you believe: a drunk guy with 5 instances at FSU where his truthfulness/impulse control were questioned or the sober driver who reported it to her company and got him banned.
    2. He pulled this behavior AFTER being made Mr. Buccaneer and while he was in the midst of a civil lawsuit where HE counter-sued the woman who says he raped her. This would have killed him in the lawsuit as further evidence of predatory behavior.
    3. He has some kind of homophobia thing going.
    4. who leaked this? Maybe Bucs are looking for his exit. Maybe Winston wants out. It seems like this was intentional on somebody’s part.

  74. Nate Says:

fire squads???? @Alteredego UMMMMMM…..jameis wrong or not has been being AROUND B.S. again and why not mention the UBER thing

OUT FRONT>>..if I had friend and been in a car I’m saying after uber did what they did….LOOK I seen a friend at that time do something I may get accused of …do whats morally right 1st it never looks as bad……SMH

I SHOULD of stood up and said it was wrong when it happened

    none of that….

Jameis from this to FL troubles before to the W embarrassment he might need a new change ….

Id keep jameis but only if he beats out my next qb I’m drafting high in the draft…..

Gruden and Brooks give him POSSIBLY ONE last chance if he cant way over and clearly out shine baker Mayfield or Josh Allen in preseason he rides the bench

  75. NFLNut Says:

    **********

Peyton Manning got out before the news about him putting his anus and testicles on a female trainer cost him a massive suspension … Zeke got 6 games with NO PROOF that he did anything wrong … Jameis could get 6 games as well even if he did nothing wrong … this is the new norm and the witch-hunt has just begun … I wouldn’t doubt if high profile players on every team get outed, even if there is no truth to the reports, over the next few years …

    **********

  76. LifeOfABucFan Says:

    Ken G…all great points!!!!

  77. Getaclue Says:

Bucs winning Sunday actually makes it worse with the Winston situation , the question is has koetter lost control of his players and gruden can straighten them out

  78. WeAreLost Says:

Politics and football, fukc me i cant wait to die. If he did do it then fukc him, if he didn’t do it hes still screwed. I just find a hard time seeing the light on the end of the tunnel on this one. Go Bucs, I guess.

  79. JimmyJack Says:

Well done Clod you really drove your point home with that babbling.

    I reassess……..You are a idiot.

  80. Chris in WA Says:

It’s okay to admit that you messed up on your QB and look towards the future. The Rams did it with Sam Bradford. Eagles did it with Kevin Kolb and Nick Foles. Browns thought Johnny Football would light up the leauge (so did Joe). Too many times has Jameis’s name appeared in the media for negative reasons not even counting sexual related incidents. A list:

    -Publix crab legs
-Jumping on a table and shouting “FHRITP”
-Telling a bunch of school-aged children that ladies are supposed to be silent
-The debacle in New Orleans 2 weeks ago

This isn’t the media out to get Jamies, this is Jameis putting his foot into his own mouth time and time again on his own free will. Jameis has been an embarrassment since his very first throw in the NFL which was a pick 6 against the Tennessee Titans and Mariota. While Jameis has played at an okay level since he has been in the NFL the distractions and controversy have not been worth it. We will have a huge contract year coming up very shortly and need to decide quickly if this will be the face of the franchise.

  81. Frank Pillow Says:

Glad to see this post, Joe. I voiced many of these same points (albeit less thoroughly) in response to an earlier story. This whole thing stinks like Carl Nicks’ festering-MERSA riddled-big toe. Mrs Tynes, sadly, was right, “It’s a Bucs Life.” Let me be clear, the analogy here is not intended to equalize an infection with alleged inappropriate touching/harassing. Not at all. I merely reference it as a pontential gauge of how much of a black-eye ownership is willing to withstand. In that case, MERSA was the icing on the cake of a season lost to underachieving dysfunction. Ironically too involving a QB. Only ownership knows its threshold- but I have to believe they are mighty disappointed in the goings on here.

  82. Blackmagic00 Says:

We are all insane, including the organization and especially those of us who are tenured fans. No what I mean? Still go hum bucs.

  83. Macklemore Says:

It just seems odd that if Uber suspended Jameis from using Uber explicitly for groping a woman–and he says he didn’t do it–that some of his friends were in the car–why wouldn’t he want to clear his name at that time–He had experience with this before. He could’ve handled this privately with Uber (obviously, they didn’t go to the press at that time) to show that he was innocent. The fact that Uber cancelled his account when this actually happened and he did nothing to clear his name is telling. Winston has always had a tendency to blame others for his behavior. And if he was with friends and they groped her, why wouldn’t he take a stand? Who were these friends?

  84. MadMax Says:

Yep, I’ll say it again and was the first one here saying it before the trade deadline….we shouldve traded him. Not looking like such a bad idea now huh…smh.

  85. MadMax Says:

And we wouldve got a lot more for him then than we can now.

  86. JimmyJack Says:

No it’s not telling Macklemore……..If an account gets used for Uber and the driver reports back saying she was groped of course they are go in to suspend the account, regardless of how exactly it happened.

None of that specifically proves that Winston groped anybody. I’m not defending Winston by saying that I’m just saying it doesn’t tell anything that you seem to think it does.

Just gotta wait for the facts to come out rather then playing Dick Tracey bro.

  87. BUC MAN Says:

I said it from the begaining when Wintson had all that baggage, That he will be a problem child for the Buc’s , and they should of drafted Mariota, Now look at what we have to deal with .. Like I said , I give him a few more years and he will be history !!!

  88. PRBucFan Says:

Chucky wont come back to a QBless Bucs team

  89. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Mad Max and Buc Man Winstons going nowhere! He’s our QB! Go Bucs!

  90. FortMyersDave Says:

Yeah I’m tired and 87 is right Says: You are correct sir. The trolls are all ready to yell 3-13 and run JW out of town….. Very likely someone is trying to extort coin from a celebrity (imagine that!)…. Unless Winston is handcuffed and in jail he is going to be Tampa Bay starting QB fans. JBF viewers, what a rush to judgement: you do realize there are people who make a living out of extortion, look at Hollywood and Washington, the NFL players are an easier mark as they are younger and immature when compared to politicians…?

I agree with 87 is right: JW is going nowhere. The allegation make for news and ALL the media made poor assumptions…. Big Ben gets a pass, why? Pittsburgh gets good ratings? Does color matter? Nontheless Winston is the starter for Tampa, and will be in 2018, JBF is supposed to be for Buc fans, yet I read more negative stuff here than anywhere else. Good for JBF, below average as a Buc fan….

  91. BUC MAN Says:

I’M TIRED AND 87 IS RIGHT…. WINSTON IS A BUMMMMMM. HE WILL ALWAYS HAVE BAGGAGE … CAN’T CHANGE THE COLOR OF A ZEBA……

  92. Roy T. Buford Says:

Joe, I don’t tie a win Sunday to this situation in any way, though I can see you point about how it will get uglier, earlier. As a season ticket holder and being close to many in the Bucs organization, I don’t want to see them ever lose, but I get a feeling the owners have a short fuse on this type of stuff. Even if Jameis had a SB under his belt, I think they’d cut the baby, no delay, if Jameis is not only found to have done what is alleged, but lied to them about it. He is already going to get smacked internally for not telling them of it, IF he didn’t say anything. And if Jameis said something and the Glazers weren’t told, boy oh boy. So I think a win Sunday is low on anyone’s priority list, other than Dirk Koetter, Jason Licht, and maybe the players. Here’s one though: I’ll bet we don’t see Jameis out there high fiving and jumping around….not due to his decision, but the team’s. Awkward weekend indeed. Glad I’m not goind down as originally planned.

  93. BucEmUp Says:

Kirk Cousins woukd crap his pants with the chance of playing with Mike Evans djax and these weapons. And you know he can git djax.

I like koetter but gruden and cousins spells superbowl title to me

  94. Supersam Says:

Get rid of Licht, Keotter and Winsnone immediately after the season. Time to take the trash out.

  95. Buc believer Says:

I don’t think he did it!

  96. Dooshlarue Says:

Maybe “Eating them W’s” be having a different meaning man…..
Like I be eatin’ dem hoes yo.

  97. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

When is the last time anyone here used Uber and they let you ride in the front passenger seat?

    Think about it, people.

  98. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

And you guys are fooling yourselves if you think Kirk Cousins would be able to come here.

  99. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Macklemore Says
“It just seems odd that if Uber suspended Jameis from using Uber explicitly for groping a woman–and he says he didn’t do it–that some of his friends were in the car–why wouldn’t he want to clear his name at that time…”

My wife can no longer use Uber. Know why?

Because whoever rode in the vehicle before she did left a small mess, and the Uber driver accused her of doing it. Charged her an extra $100 for cleaning the mess. We fought it, the money was never refunded and Uber blacklisted her.

So there is no clearing yourself with Uber.

  100. Mike Johnson Says:

Bucs in a messy place? I’m laughing so hard..my bellies bursting!! Always have been always will be with there present coaching staff. These coaches will not win us a superbowl. Sure with Koetter, we will make the playoffs in maybe 2 yrs. But thats it. Hell, Stevie Wonder can see it!!

  101. NFLNut Says:

    ***********

Apparently, this was in the offseason after his rookie year and according to him and his rep, Jameis was in the backseat with friends and one other unnamed guy was in the front-seat who may or may not have put his hand on the driver.

Apparently she had no idea who touched her, which her first text to a friend shows, but then later says it was Jameis … however according to Jameis’ rep when uber got involved the driver did not I.D. Jameis either and his account was suspended simply because it was the account used to book the uber.

All of the above said, I think it’s likely that the driver was “touched” and is not lying but that Jameis himself was in the back-seat and that it was another passenger in the front-seat that touched her. If that is the case, anyone including Florio, is being very irresponsible in accusing Jameis of any wrong-doing or even of making a bad decision as he did nothing wrong.

If I hail a cab with three friends after partying and one of them sits in the front with the cab driver and acts like a moron, that is not on me by any stretch of the imagination.

I also think that if Jameis did this, he’d want to just admit it to the league immediately and take his 6 week suspension right now, for weeks 10-16, come back play the last game of the year at home against the Saints and go into next year with a clean slate … that he immediately came out and said the accusation is false and gave specific details that he was in the back-seat, make it pretty obvious that he did nothing wrong.

At worst Jameis will get a 6 game suspension but I have a feeling this will blow over, the driver may even come out and say it wasn’t Jameis but a friend of Jameis, the fast food camera may show Jameis wasn’t in the front-seat, etc., and he won’t be suspended a single game … but … we’ll see.

However, Jameis finds himself living in the age of public witch-hunts and he is hated by many, so the young man better buckle up and prepare for a bumpy ride in life, not just this year …

Buc4Lyfe79 says: As far as #3 goes with this newest set of questionable circumstances, I don’t personally believe that JW is stupid enough to have committed such an act and think he could get away with it, not to mention risk sacrificing his entire career in the process, but what I do fault JW for is obviously STILL having the kind of people hanging around him that would commit such an act. Sooner or later, you’re judged by the company you keep, and if he’s still keeping that kind of company, he obviously isn’t as smart or mature as he tries to present himself out to be
    ============================================
    This. 1000%

It’s a lack of mature judgment.

I’m a woman. Do some women make false accusations? Yes. But I have to believe that percentage is much lower than the percentage that turn out to be true.

Furthermore, why is it MOST men (rich/not, famous/not) are gentlemen and go their entire lives without having allegations like this leveled at them, and this young man has had SEVERAL similar lapses of judgement in the past? Likely because the truth is somewhere in there, under table “proclamations,” Uber rides, and piles of crab legs.

  103. chickster Says:

Glazers have no control over this team . The discipline is week Head coach is week , Gm is week .Lets all stop pretending that we all saw our qb eat his fingers a couple of weeks ago and it made me think that our qb has something terribly wrong with him .

  104. FortMyersDave Says:

People, why not hear what the young man says before we crucify him???? Maybe I am in the minority but allegations are just words, harmful but just words……. Let the man defend himself before we hang him !
