Bucs Catching Miami At The Right Time

November 14th, 2017

Embarrassed

Monday Night Football was so darn fun last night. It’s hard to top the ironic humor of Cam Newton showing his frustration over ex-Buc Russell Shepard’s drops and Shepard not coming back to the football.

It was also enjoyable to see Tampa Bay’s next opponent, the one Carolina beat 45-21, is in train-wreck mode.

Tampa Bay heads to Miami on Sunday for the Hurricane Irma make-up game.

The Dolphins, which have the highest paid defensive line in the NFL, allowed 294 yards on the ground to the Panthers in Charlotte last night. That was the story of the game, not the four touchdown passes thrown by Newton, which led to Miami (4-5) allowing a whopping 548 yards of offense.

Bad tackling was the word from Ndamukong Suh and others, via the Miami Herald. And now the Dolphins have a very short week to get ready for the Bucs.

Man, the Bucs are catching Miami at just the right time. (Hey, with that kind of run defense, maybe Doug Martin can manage 3.5 yards per carry to improve his season average.)

The Bucs have enough in the tank, even with Ryan Fitzpatrick, to beat another backup quarterback, Jay Cutler, and a reeling Dolphins team that’s been outscored 112-45 in its last three games, all losses.

Given all the regime-change chatter swirling about Tampa, Sunday could be a very important game for the Bucs franchise.

Suh has really helped that run defense! Maybe we can sneak out a win, need to score some points on offense though, been a while. Need to get after Cutler early for sure.

  2. feelthepewterpower Says:

Catching Miami at the right team…then catching Atlanta at the right time because they, too, will be coming off a short week plus a west coast trip even though they are playing at home! How huge would that be to pull off the next two…to slowly crawl back into the playoff race!

  3. Kyle Says:

Joe, did you hear gruden talk about the jameis missing a few throws when they played carolina during last nights broadcast? Gruden has janeis on hus mind, i wonder if that means anything……lol

  4. feelthepewterpower Says:

Let’s title this game “Opening Day” and come out with that mentality and for the remainder of the season!

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

Man, Suh really lead his team didn’t he?!!! 3 assists!!!

    2017 season stats:
    27 T; 11 Ast; 3.5 Sacks (Suh)
    27 T; 6 Ast; 3 Sacks (GMC)

Stats don’t lie, neither do wins/losses. But wait, Suh’s got “attitude”!!!

  6. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Hey at least Suh never bought any ice cream for his teammates…the ultimate sin for an NFL players.

And not only does he not help opponents up….he stomps on them when they’re down…he’s totally lacking in class! Geez I wish we were paying GMC twice as much as he’s currently earning….Suh money…for what?

  7. MadMax Says:

But are we going to be ready? No Kicker or QB to blame a loss on…so the D and Coaches better be ready.

  8. Lakeland Says:

    2017 NFC South Standings

    New Orleans 7-2

    Carolina 7-3

    Atlanta 5-4

    Tampa Bay 3-6

It don’t look good for the Tampa bay Succaneers

  9. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Saints are 7-2, Panthers are 7-3

We are 3-6 ,It’s very easy to see

That we should be tanking, for Saquon Barkley

  10. Fire the glazers Says:

The dolphins could also be looking to rebound Against a boring lackluster Bucs offense. Especially after getting their teeth kicked in by FIG Newton and the bubblegum blue panthers. I smell a butt whoop in this upcoming Sunday. Just a realist who hates getting his hopes up over a still over hyped BUCS team.&

^^^Hell yea I’m digging this ish right here! So if Fitz wins in Miami does JW come back or does Koetter keep him benched?

  12. Joeypoppems Says:

Panthers ran for 294 yards, which means the Bucs will run for 80 because math…

  13. Pawel Says:

I want Koetter to give up his OC duty.

  14. Kobe Faker Says:

    hey Lake

  15. BucEmUp Says:

Is it possible the bucs can win 7 in a row???!!!

  16. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I don’t think it matters regardless, I don’t expect Jameis back until after Green Bay at the earliest. I don’t think the cold of Green Bay will be good for his shoulder, especially if he were to land on it. I also think it depends on how Fitz plays. If he plays lights out, then maybe he rides it a little and doesn’t rush Jameis back. If he plays like how he did against the Jets and they win, he will probably try to get Jameis back in sooner than later. But once Jameis is 100%, he’s coming back regardless. He is the franchise.

    No

  19. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Bucemup

Long shot to win 7 but not impossible but here is Buc Luck for you. We could win 7 in a row…end up with ten wins…and once again be left out of the playoffs.

In fact if you look at the current standings I’m not sure I see how the Bucs get in with ten.

  20. Rob Says:

Great to see all the optimistic comments about the Bucs turning things around and getting back in the playoff race. Problem is, even as a die hard Buc fan, I know the reality of that monumental task and this team can’t score enough points to beat the teams we are about to play. Am I alone in seeing the ashen look on Koetter’s face lately? That man has put everything into this team and has literally next to nothing to show for it except swirling rumors of a pending coaching change. If the Bucs don’t finish with at least 7 wins, Koetter is toast. I would love to have Gruden back, I won’t lie. I also thought Koetter would do much, much better than this. I’m so disappointed in this abortion of a season as we sit at 3-6 and wonder what the hell happened. Hoping for a miracle and a run of gritty, smart, effective play but really? Go Bucs!

  21. Bucsfanman Says:

I got a chuckle out of that too!^^^

  22. Buccan8 Says:

The Faker couldn’t keep his promise a full day 🙁 But that’s ok, I like the characters on this site and welcome all of them, as long as they aren’t ridiculous. It’s like the old days of Finebaum when he was just in Birmingham and we were treated to the daily Bammers and Barners during it out on the airwaves 🙂 You guys help me remember that my life could be so much worse—and that’s coming from a UF/Bucs fan!! 🙂

  23. Buc believer Says:

Joe just can’t WAIT to seize every opportunity he has to slam Martin. Maybe your boy/man the cartoon loving oh my goodness did I hit you to hard did your mommie make brownies for the team again 100 million dollar stealing Geraldine Mcfaker might be able to actually show up and play a game this weekend.

  24. 813bucboi Says:

I don’t know about catching them at the right time….they might be catching us at the right time….this season, you’ve been getting blown out and embarrassed on the road….we don’t commit to the run like CAR does nor do we use all our weapons(OJ..barber..)….we normally come out flat on the road….we’ll see what happens sunday….hoping for a streak….GO BUCS!!!

  25. Jarid Says:

    Win 2 ….then drop 5 straight…ya know its coming

I agree forgot Green Bay was on the road. I don’t want the franchise back at all actually until Koetter goes or a good OC is brought in. I blame Koetter for the injury putting JW is empty sets against very very good passrush defenses see Buffalo. I’d rather ride it out with Fitz this year.

  27. Not there yet Says:

Really Joe? They beat the Jets and now suddenly we’re playing Miami at the right time? Pass offense and rush offense sucks no matter who is at quarterback. Lol at where Carolina sits in the division, Tampa won’t best them just because Carolina made it look easy. After everything they’ve shown this year your actually typing the bucs have an easy win? I would not be surprised if they come out and get the crap kicked out of them.

  28. Pelbuc Says:

When will everyone realize the the Bucs are the cure to every other teams’ ills. The Dolphins will take out their frustrations on the underachieving Bucs. Then we can concentrate on getting a new GM and coach.

  29. mike johnson Says:

Very winnable game for the Bucs. We shall see come Sunday.

  30. Tampa Bay Tailgater Says:

I’m leaving for Miami Friday morning and will be there in Section 111.

    Go Bucs!

  31. Bucsfanman Says:

Represent Tampa Tailgater! Watch out for those $25 Mojitos in South Beach! They sneak up on you.

  32. unbelievable Says:

Hurry up Joe, only 7 games left to take cheap shots at Martin while refusing to blame the poor play of the o-line!

  33. Bucsfanman Says:

@unbelievable- A blind man can see that we have o-line problems!!

  34. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    TB Tailgater

Have a great time…I’m jealous. Wouldn’t want to live there but I’ve always enjoyed visiting Miami!!!

Wife and I have several cities like that…love visiting New York…DC…and San Fran but would not want to live there.

Hopefully the Bucs will end up making your trip very enjoyable!!!

  35. B Coburn Says:

I’d almost feel more comfortable facing them on a win at streak. Got embarrassed and pissed off? Just play thr bucs and you will be firing on all cylinders again.

  36. BucsFanDan Says:

Yeah, im in the camp that you never want to play a team after being embarassed on national tv…. I also think Cams behavior was a display classlessness, his antics celebrations and taunts belong in pop warner, nothing like rubbing salt in the wounds of your opponents. Act like you’ve been there before

  37. BigMacAttack Says:

I wouldn’t hold my breath on a Bucs’ win. It it would update be nice. It could be very a low scoring game if our defense shows up. Bet
