Rice Has Message For Robert Ayers
November 5th, 2017Simeon Rice is holding out the carrot. Will Robert Ayers nibble?
Former Bucs great Simeon Rice is apparently miffed that some folks are mocking his comeback, or shall Joe type, proposed comeback?
Rice has been aghast at the lack of a pass rush for his beloved Bucs (what edge rush?). He believes at age 43 and a decade removed from his last snap in the NFL, he can contribute as much as any of the Bucs defensive ends currently on the roster.
For those who forgot, the Bucs have a grand total of seven sacks through seven games, which is enough for Joe to jam his head in a oven and suck gas.
Ayers has had a good time joking about Rice’s comeback, or proposed comeback. He’s getting a good chuckle out of it and Ayers said recently that Rice better watch out because “young killers” might love nothing more than to add a notch to their belts by taking out a 43-year old defensive end hopefully headed to Canton.
Joe is guessing Ayers’ words reached Rice, who issued a very public challenge on Twitter for Ayers to work out with him to see if Rice is over-the-hill or not.
@simeon_rice: Since I’m too old to play in the NFL I cordially invite @1_900_ayersjr to week of training with me this off season #SimeonRiceChallenge
Now to be fair, Ayers has mad respect for Rice. Ayers even said that his best season sacking the quarterback may not have been equal to Rice’s worst year.
But it would be cool for Ayers to work out with Rice, if for no other reason he might be able to pick up a pointer or two.

Don’t know if ayers will be a buc come neck off-season so that may be all about nothing
Apparently ayers is a great leader in locker room but let’s face it , it’s about numbers and he ain’t got none to justify that decent salary

To me it looks like the the players are pissed at GM/HC for Bringing I’m lazy malcontents like fat baker and cry baby jackson…. how else does it go south so fast… letting Sheppard go, benching Tandy – the real leaders got shat on this offseason and it shows in their effortless play…

Ayers dont care. The culture has swallowed him whole. He put up a fight last year, but the culture did what the culture does, overpowered him, and made him apathetic.

I wish more of the SB old school Bucs would speak out…..they can say stuff the coaches can’t …..IMO there is better talent than the record shows…the coaching staff is not the problem…it is ATTITUDE

If he wants to work out with players have him call out Noah Spence. At least Spence will for sure be on the team next year…

There’s a video on DAILY SNARK on Facebook from the Panthers game. Christian McCaffrey PANCAKES Ayers with a CHIP BLOCK.
W/ Joe’s permission, it is worth the watch:

Jackson might be a cancer. Evans has not been the same since his arrival.
The only thing he has helped with is kneeling.

Funniest tape I have seen all week.
Getting beasted by McCaffery.
I hope the film room crowd at One Buc had a field day with Ayers on that clip.

@buctrooper stop, that’s a glorified crack back Ayers has his weight shifted away from McCaffery and he knocks him off balance…just stop. THAT’S A REACH!!!

I don’t care if he was off balance, getting b!tched up by a 200lb running back like that is pathetic…
