This week, Jeff and Tom recap the result — another loss — but it’s time for a focus change. Give the Bucs one more week before it’s big picture time says Tom. Jeff says that time is already at hand and Joe stops in to recount the latest from One Buc Palace. The guys talk Jameis and his injury (hint: Jeff has intel) and more. ScuttleBucs imbibe!
Presented by Fan Retreat, The ScuttleBucs is right here every Wednesday afternoon on JoeBucsFan.com, hosted by Jeff Cameron and Tom Lang, powerhouse personalities and lifelong Bucs fans at ESPN Tallahassee, 97.9 FM.
The ScuttleBucs can be found at Google Play and iTunes. It rebroadcasts Sundays on ESPN Tallahassee from 11 a.m. to noon.
Listen or download above. Read more about The ScuttleBucs below.
Of course, many of you know Cameron is the namesake of “The Jeff Cameron Show.” Joe has been a guest with Cameron for years and Cameron is a personal friend of Jameis Winston.
Cameron is a St. Petersburg native, a proud Lakewood High graduate and a diehard Bucs fan since he was a little guy running through Tampa Stadium in the late 70’s. Jeff is a 20-year radio host in Tallahassee talking Florida State and national sports on a daily basis — weekdays 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on ESPN Tallahassee 97.9 FM since 2012. Jeff has reported/opined for ESPN SportsCenter, ESPN Radio’s flagship show Mike & Mike, on SiriusXM and he appears on local shows from Seattle to Miami. He thanks the football gods daily that the Lovie Smith era is over and misses the days of Lee Roy Selmon and Doug Williams.
Tom Lang, a Clearwater and Palm Harbor native, graduated Clearwater Central Catholic in 2005. He started working in sports in the fall of 2004, covering Friday nights on the high school beat for the St. Petersburg Times. After moving up to the state capital, Tom worked the Florida State sports beat for the Rivals and 24/7 sport networks. He has an eight-year relationship with “The Jeff Cameron Show” as a producer, being promoted to Executive Producer in 2012. He is also the Operations Manager of ESPN Tallahassee. Tom still smiles at the memory of dejected Eagles fans leaving their beloved Vet as NFC Bridesmaids all those years ago, and he’s Brad Johnson’s biggest fan. Seriously.

This is a good listen. I like when Lee gets ranting about the state of the edge rush.

The Joes are such freaking haters on Doug Martin.
Y’all should bring a non bias party in to analyze the film and show you that Doug makes the most out of his carries. Dude has been injured and made mistakes but he’s the least of this team’s worries right now.
Play calling and situational football is what’s holding this Bucs’ running game back.
Damn, y’all treat Martin like Sabby Wright-Talib for f**k’s sake.

So the J0es can’t evaluate QBs, or RBs apparently… You’re really down on Doug Martin? No way! Nobody around here had any idea.
Sorry but Denver doesn’t have a worse o-line than us. They actually open holes for their running backs. BTW McCoy was only healthy for 1 winning season in the 8 or 9 years he’s been here. Doug has the same amount of winning seasons in just 5 years. So your comparison is just wrong.
Your bias is showing again. Carry on though, it’s your site, just my opinion… Joe has explained many times that this website is loaded with bias since Day 1. Joe is not objective when it comes to the overall state of the Bucs. Joe is interested in the Bucs’ success, craves it, desires it. Joe is a fan, in addition to being a journalist. Why is that so hard for you to wrap your head around? Joe offers opinion, in addition reporting plenty of news and facts.. You’ve been coming here for years and you scream bias? That’s like going to your favorite ice cream shop over and over again and complaining they push some flavors more than others on the specials board. –Joe

That’s news to both Joe, the NFL as a whole, and pretty sure news to John Elway as well.

Cmon man, he had 50 yards AFTER first contact, in a game where he rushed for 49 total. That means he’s getting hit in the backfield constantly. That is on the o-line and / or playcalling, not the RB.
A running back can’t simultaneously block people, and run the ball.
Re: Denver o-line, yes they are very bad in pass protection, but definitely better in run blocking than us. I should have clarified.
I know the site is opinion-driven Joe, but the vendetta against Martin is getting old to everyone. Especially when he is, without doubt, the best RB we have on the roster. Please understand I’m not advocating for us to resign him again next year. I would actually be happy to let him go and bring in new talent. But to suggest that he is the primary reason we don’t have a better run game this season is just plain wrong, and the film backs that up. 🙂
Film doesn’t back it up, and it didn’t last year. And the yac stats are so subjective, yet still Martin isn’t among the top-15 in the NFL in that department, per this week’s ESPN data.–Joe
