The Bills’ Crying Rookie Cornerback

Buffalo starting rookie corner Tre’Davious White wept after his last game — no, he wasn’t watching Vernon Hargreaves film — so there’s good reason to think he might need a big box of tissues with DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans on the field Sunday.
Of course, that was the expected weekly dream of Bucs fans, Jackson and Mike Evans sending secondaries and defensive coordinators into fits of dread this season.
So far, that hasn’t materialized consistently. But Sunday is a new day and it’s time for the Bucs’ studs to feast on a rookie first-round pick of a cornerback who has had good days and bad.
This neat story from WGGR-AM in Buffalo is worth the read.
The team’s first round pick this past draft was beaten several times early by A.J. Green and the Cincinnati Bengals offense. Three of the first six Bengals plays were passes to Green. He caught all of them, the last for a huge 77-yard touchdown with White trailing in coverage. That gave the Bengals a 7-0 lead.
White bounced back well, for the most part, making several plays to breakup Andy Dalton passes. But later in the game, on the last play of the third quarter, the Dalton-to-Green connection got him again. This time on a big third down and ten from near midfield with the Bills up by three points. A stop on that play and the Bills are in excellent shape headed to the fourth quarter. But Green made the catch for 47-yards and, on the very next play, Cincinnati scored a touchdown to take a lead they’d never give back.
When reporters got to the Bills’ locker room after the game the rookie was nowhere to be found. Some assumed he didn’t want to take accountability for his performance and left his teammates to answer for the loss. Others thought he may have suffered an unknown injury. But Wednesday, White explained why he left. And he admitted something professional athletes rarely do.
“Man, I cried,” he said. “It hurt so bad.
“That’s why I left the locker room. I didn’t want you guys to see me like that. I had to get up out of there.”

White is the Bills’ No. 1 corner, and Mike Evans has six inches on him and more experience and power. DeSean Jackson can outrun and out-dazzle anyone.
It’s really time for the Bucs to make #WeaponsForWinston more than a catchy spring hashtag.

Who’s gonna get our stud receivers the ball? Dirk had to prove he can call a game like he’s trying to put up 50 and Winston has to prove he can hit open receivers. Until that happens it doesn’t really matter who is defending us

Superficial worry. We’d better be worried about Buffalo’s pass rush! And we’d better be worried about Tyrod Taylors ability to get out of the pocket, scambleing for runs and passing down the field. Buffalo is a better team than Arizona Bucs fans. And they have Yet to lose at home. Thats what I’m worried about. Not a Bills rookie CB.

Tre White has been balln tho. He has like 12 passes defensed and scored 2 TDs. And lets be honest. D-Jax aint AJ Green and Mike Evans wont burn past anybody lmao.
Read an interesting stat just a moment ago. Buffalo is 1 of 4 teams that has more INTs (5) than TD passes allowed (4). I have no confidence that this offense will change that….

I watched all of the Falcons and Bills game. And they did a job on Julio Jones,Muhammad Sanu and Taylor Gabriel. Julio, 3 catches 30 yards, Sanu 1 catch 3 yards. Taylor Gabriel, 0 catches, 5 targets.

Tampa Bay sports writers, big and small, never seem to get it. Last week we were supposed to get to Carson Palmer, and DJax was supposed to come up big. It was revenge time. How did that turn out. The week before that, we were supposed to feast on that last-in-league (not to be confused with our second to last) defense from the Boston area. Fail on offense–F grade. Two weeks prior, it was the awful Case Freakin’ Keenum…the Bucs were going to aniilhate him. Whoops.
Right now, I don’t know which team the Bucs can beat. Maybe the 49ers, but we won’t see them unless we both make the playoffs.
Time a dose of humble pie. I don’t want to see any predictions of where the Bucs can explain. Right now they can’t do a thing.
Let’s turn the second complete game of the year Bucs, shall we?

Wonder if the Bills are saying exactly the same thing about our first-round pick of a cornerback. You know, the the one who so far this season has bad days and even worse days. Personally I’m impressed with a young man who apparently cares as much as he does about his profession (“It hurt so bad”).

Bills are coming off a bye week,…..Bucs have Get Mean Cuz …of @ kicking.
Bucs cannot get picked or fumble/turnover in 1st half.
Bucs have to find it to run….Martin/Rodgers have to shine. (Shine or hang/Pirate saying )
Most of the league is in the 3/3 … where are we going….this is a big weekend for many teams.
Whoever is QB for Bucs….if we can get to the Bill’s 30 6 Times there is hope,that and the FG kicker going 3/3,4/4.
If Bucs can put up 24+ points….they should win.

What u said proves ur off track. Watch the tape. Djx is hardly open. Jw missed twice. Proof is on the tape. Otherwise djx requires a qb to be 100 percent accurate. He can’t separate. He don’t make adjustments to catch it. That’s not his job. I like receivers that make effort to catch it not relying on 100 percent accuracy

Well winston needs to know that djax is here to create big plays and get other receivers one on one ? You are saying that isn’t happening and mike Evans or cameron brate are always double covered? And winston is spoiled with this offense you cant be a gunslinger without a deep ball?

White looks better than VH3 already and I am ashamed that I thought VH was first round talent. IF he is then good but hasn’t looked it so far.

I’ll dumb it down a bit here. Nfl defenses are not stupid. He has a poor route tree. Got the boot outta Washington Cousin is just fine. He is at best unnecessary and non factor. Keotter trying to please him to keep locker room clean cuz djx is known for destruction. Djx should understand the patients within this system. Djx is impatient. He wants to be the 1 to watch.

About that pats over throw it hurt and it was whack. That was a bad throw. The other throws look so damn ugly. We can blame jw. But that same play proves djx is not a fit here. That was the only time it felt real. Those other force fed Kleenex tissue box jw was throwing at him is killing him. He has no problem w the other guys. Just djx. Remove this guy plz

At best. It not working anyway and time is running out on the season. Let’s blame who been in this system for 3 years now. Djx is the new guy and he needs to understand he is the 4th option not the 2nd. When koetter licht jw understand this and bark him down our offense will take flight as predicted in the beginning of the year. No way he can be 2nd. He has to 3rd to 4th and big plays will be there. From what I heard chemistry was OFF. So I expected misses. But it’s time to real and this is my suggestion

At least he cares about himself. Knows when he messed up, and takes full responsibility. Our second yr guy hasn’t showed half of what white has, and white has only played in 6 games.
White is a heck of a CB,I wouldn’t take his bad day last week as a sign of great weakness. The kid can ball.

Ryan Smith started the First NFL game he played in. Yeah, he got picked on. But he learned. In the games he played in since- you havent heard his name mentioned.
He is an improvement.
