Jameis Has “No Structural Damage”
October 16th, 2017Huge news out of One Buc Palace this evening should curb anti-depressant use from Lakeland to Largo — and at Joe’s house.
Winning head coach Dirk Koetter detailed that America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, has not been ruled out of Sunday’s game after Jameis had an MRI on his injured throwing shoulder.
The test revealed a sprained AC joint that was affecting Jameis’ velocity during the game, hence why Jameis was pulled in the first half against Arizona yesterday.
“He just felt like he couldn’t drive the ball down the field like he needed to,” Koetter said.
It’s very much a day-to-day situation, Koetter said, which is encouraging news.
Koetter said Jameis “will be cleared medically to play.”
That’s all Joe needs to hear. Thank you, football gods (minus whatever you dropped on Bucs fans yesterday).
Wednesday is the next step, how Jameis feels throwing the football when the team resumes practicing.

Here come the “Fitzpatrick is better losers”
October 16th, 2017 at 8:25 pm
Maybe Jameis should start throwing with his left arm on the long passes which might help to not overthrow 🙂
October 16th, 2017 at 8:28 pm
@Broy34
Lol you beat me too it bro. They will be here no doubt.
October 16th, 2017 at 8:38 pm
I like Jameis. Overall he seems to have hit a wall. Im sure he will get better but he needs to know his defense has his back. They dont…
Also did anyone else notice how many times the name Ryan Griffin came out of Koetters mouth on his press conference today?
October 16th, 2017 at 8:42 pm
I suspect Jameis will start no matter what his condition since he has started every game as a Buc.
And, Koetter needs a victory in order to keep his Joe-given “Winning Bucs Head Coach” title.

“Kobe Faker resides in Lakeland. Why does JBF continuously imply that poster Lakeland and myself are drug addicts?”
October 16th, 2017 at 8:52 pm
That long TD pass from Fitzmagic to Evans is something I just don’t think Jameis can do on a semi regular basis. With that said I don’t think anyone really wants him to start over Jameis. But I do think Jameis may be what he is going to be.
I can’t think of anyone who was not accurate 3 years in and then became accurate. Jameis is good not great, and good can win a lot of games an maybe a Superbowl. It did for us once before.
October 16th, 2017 at 8:54 pm
Faker have you read any of your posts?
October 16th, 2017 at 8:57 pm
For the people who blast Jameis and want him benched yada yada…HE IS THE CATALYST that helps the team GO…no matter what u feel he lacks …his TEAM mates feel better when he is there some things aren’t quantitative…it’s cohesiveness like Martin…they love the guy.
Ask military guys who has been in the trenches who they would rather have there with them , the selfish sharp shooter are the valiant selfless leader.
Some qualities are irreplaceable…talent alone isn’t enough for the Bucs they need heart!
1, 2, 3 family!!!
October 16th, 2017 at 8:58 pm
lol Capt
October 16th, 2017 at 9:01 pm
But someone gots some dain brammage on that team for not being prepared to play. No, not putting it all on Jameis…mostly to the guys that wear Bucs DryTec polos.

“Love is the reason for the fight”
October 16th, 2017 at 9:03 pm
Should have kept Glennon. He can make those throws.
Just kidding.
October 16th, 2017 at 9:04 pm
He has not hit a wall IMO!
“Love is the reason for the fight”
October 16th, 2017 at 9:07 pm
It doesn’t really matter who starts the way he’s playing if Winston can’t go with Humphrey at qb can be much worse lmao
October 16th, 2017 at 9:16 pm
I don’t get the play calling. Jameie was off to a good start in Arizona and was moving the chains, then we got into running it up the middle on successive plays and leaving him in third and long.
Needs to be fixed IMO and Winston will deliver.
October 16th, 2017 at 9:24 pm
Lakeland shout out.tampaaaaaa. We will be on a five-game win streak remember this

“That long TD pass from Fitzmagic to Evans is something I just don’t think Jameis can do on a semi regular basis.”
You clearly have not been watching. Winston to Evans has happened a lot.
October 16th, 2017 at 9:42 pm
I hate to see Winston injured, especially his throwing arm.
Can’t be a good thing for an already inaccurate QB with a long delivery.
It’s concerning for already under performing offensive roster.
October 16th, 2017 at 9:43 pm
I hope Fitz starts this week. Better yet, JW starts and plays like crap (again) and they bench him for Fitz. Maybe we should give Colin K a call….
October 16th, 2017 at 9:44 pm
I love Jameis. He’s our guy, no doubt….
But, seriously, WHY IS HE MISSING SO MANY THROWS???!?
That’s definitely one of the main storylines of these 1st 5 games.
October 16th, 2017 at 9:54 pm
I say if the score would of been 14-14 Jameis’s arm would of felt better and he would of continued. But with the way things were going they did the right thing.
October 16th, 2017 at 10:25 pm
Enough with this. If Jameis is missing certain throws, DON’T HAVE HIM MAKE THOSE THROWS. It’s real simple.
That’s like reactivating Nick Folk and push him out on the field and blaming him for missing kicks. Blame the folks who expect him to make the kicks.
Jameis is who Jameis is. Why he suddenly can’t hit DeSean Jackson deep, that’s a coaching question. How about crafting an offense to his strengths rather than continued bitching like little girls about something he struggles with?
October 16th, 2017 at 11:05 pm
Joe You NAILED IT!!!
Play to your QB strength and he will light it up! I really can’t believe some of these posters actually think Jaboo is the only one of the top 10 or maybe 20 QB’s that have deficiencies. For instance some can’t scramble and extend plays like JW can.
However, their deficiencies are camouflaged by calling plays to maximize their abilities. AND on that note if Koetter says he design different plays for Fitz…makes me go🤔so why is Jameis missing the receivers unless something maybe breaking down with the routes.
No not possible…it has to be Jameis, right.? …just listen to what Monken keeps saying, the routes…
October 16th, 2017 at 11:05 pm
Which throws would those be? The needless high “Roger Clemens” fastball to Martin on his first night back or the nine yard overthrow to Evans to start the game yesterday? The point is he is missing all kinds of throws. Winston is the number one overall pick in his third year that hasn’t missed time. Why do you expect the fans to deflect the blame to someone else? His completion percentage is 58%, 60% and 60% so far through each year. That looks to be well below league average. Sorry, but at some point he has to adapt and overcome. Even from his own coaching. I find it hard to believe there are not throws that he can make called each game with Brate, Howard, Humpries, Evans and Jackson on the field at the same time.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:10 pm
Glad to hear Freeman… errr Winston should play Sunday. Wouldn’t want anyone to catch balls, and mess up our draft chances.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:30 pm
All you Winston haters enjoy it while it lasts. Because when he plays better and wins some games you’ll all disappear, like last years 5 game win streak. You know it all’s were nowhere to be found. Give us a break with the constant nit picking. Just saying.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:30 pm
Mr. E Nigma Says:
“Why do you expect the fans to deflect the blame to someone else? His completion percentage is 58%, 60% and 60% so far through each year.”
The great Joe Montana had a career completion % of 63%. He also had a season where he dipped below 60%. Yet had a few seasons where he hovered in the 60-61%.
Tom Brady went to the SB and won it in 2004. His completion % for the season 60%.
I could go on for days and days…
How about Marino? The greatest QB to never win a SB. Career completion % is 59% where he had MANY seasons below 60%.
Should I go on?
October 16th, 2017 at 11:35 pm
Just let Jameis leave and be great elsewhere and all these idiots will be the first ones complaining “why did we let him go”? These are the same folks that used to say Donald Penn stinks.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:40 pm
87 give up they had their pee brain minds made up before the draft.

Enigma a person or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand.
Every fan is entitled to their own opinon, and every fan is entitled to their on facts. However the operative word is a FAN!
I AM AN UNAPOLOGETIC FAN OF JAMEIS WINSTON AND THE BUCS☠,
No hidden agendas…
October 16th, 2017 at 11:42 pm
Nope no Fitz is better
Just Jameis needs to step his game up quickly and get out of whatever funk he’s in.
Cause it’s trickling down and his accuracy even pre injury has been awful.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:52 pm
And stop the nonsensical defensiveness.
Being able to say when your QB is struggling doesn’t make anyone less of a fan, just makes you a realist and not a homer who lives in a fairytale land where Winston is perfect and can do no wrong.
YES
we have lots of crappy things that need fixing starting from the coaching on down in many areas. And yes one of one of those areas that is currently weak as well happens to be our QB play. GASP* I said it.
By no means does that mean I am saying change QBs or that I don’t believe in him, I do, he just has to get out of this funk that I am simply acknowledging.
If you don’t agree fine, no sweat off my back.
October 16th, 2017 at 11:55 pm
People in Lakeland don’t care nothing about these perennial losers. We actually win football games in Lakeland.
October 17th, 2017 at 12:07 am
So, we are supposed to believe that Koetter is calling the wrong throws for Winston? Throws he knows Winston has trouble with. It makes no sense that Koetter would put his own job in jeopardy. Wasn’t he supposed to be a QB guru? These are bs excuses for another chapter in the lost decade. I want Winston to succeed just as much as the next. After watching the game a second time he wasn’t terrible. The D is mostly to blame but that is another story. Winston still made some poor throws and was ineffective. Which combined with the other weeks paints a bad image so far.
The fans of this team are smart enough to not accept nonsense as an explanation for shortcomings. Time is running out for the playoffs. 9-7 seasons get coaches fired in this city.
October 17th, 2017 at 12:13 am
The only question Fitzpatrick should be the answer to is who is a barely passable stop-gap backup QB. Period. There is no QB controversy. Jameis is the best QB on the roster.
That said, Jameis is just not very good. The only consistent this about him is he consistently kills drives between flashes of brilliance. I’d love to be proven wrong and have him develop, but he’s basically the same QB for his previous 21 games. There has been zero development since the start of year 2.
October 17th, 2017 at 12:16 am
And for those comparing Jameis’ woeful completion percentage to guys who played 25 years ago before numerous rule changes benefited mightily the passing game are delusional. 60% in today’s NFL is 27th in the league.
October 17th, 2017 at 1:09 am
daveman …you want me to cite the QB’s ahead of Jameis in comp % 2017? Rivers with 61%. Wentz at 61%. Trevor Simien at 61%.
Russell Wilson and Big Ben are in the top 20 with 62% each.
The Bucs have only played 5 games. 11 more to go sunshine. 🙂
October 17th, 2017 at 1:59 am
Gotta win this one. Must beat buffalo to stay alive! Go bucs!
October 17th, 2017 at 2:02 am
SMH…one real true fact about the posters on JBF…you dawg these players out constantly…quite frankly even when they win games you still witch and moan. Ok maybe they don’t play up to your expectations, they are the players we have.
No coaches, kickers….etc….can make it here.
When I go on other team blogs nobody dog out their team like the BUCs…the team isn’t the only culture that needs to change. Quite frankly I don’t think you could handle having a wining team.
You need to be able to tear down the team all the time, regardless.
They haven’t as a team got it all perfect, but they are showing more fight and grit then they have done in the past.
No one likes the loses…but still GO BUCS â˜
October 17th, 2017 at 2:45 am
oh cry me a damn river
This team from the coaching on down deserves the criticism.
Absolutely awful display the past two weeks to go along with the one in Minnie to Case Keenum. Outright embarrassing.
Frankly unless things change quickly we are looking at a top 5 pick next April.
October 17th, 2017 at 6:55 am
His problem is he goes for the home run play too often. Remember on hard knocks when Jameis said Koetter keeps telling him to check it down, and Jameis was trying to work on it? So many times he tries to throw it deep(ish) when theres someone wide open either near or at the first down line.
He just needs to learn patience. He could be a great dink and dunker. And theres nothing wrong with that. Brady won some super bowls being a dink and dunker. Dak looks good in that role. Patience young Jameis!!
October 17th, 2017 at 7:39 am
If JW had the same completion % as Brady, he’d have 2 more completions per game.
October 17th, 2017 at 10:39 am
Sign Brock Osweiler
October 17th, 2017 at 10:48 am
So no Fitz is not better, but I don’t think it would hurt to let Jameis see someone else’s approach to running the offense for a game or two. Learn the value of a check down.
October 17th, 2017 at 12:19 pm
Go right ahead. Play Jameis in Buffalo. Then when he tears something in that shoulder say, The doctors cleared him though. Rest the Guy. Its not gonna hurt anything. And we probably will not beat Buffalo anyways..Thats right, I said it!
Start Fitzgerald and let Jameis heal completely. Don’t be surprised by Fitz. He can and does move the ball club. HE savvy and smart. And who knows what..the football Gods are thinking on any given Sunday. Fitz just might..suprise the hel out of us!! What the hell do we have to lose by resting Jameis for one game?
October 17th, 2017 at 12:41 pm
Changing topics a little bit to something lighter. Did anybody notice Fitz plays with his wedding band on? It’s not on his throwing hand, but geez, I can’t stand to wear mine when playing golf. I kept thinking, that thing is gonna get smashed on his finger or caught in gear.
