Blake, the kicker tryouts are on Monday. No need to cut him now till you have a replacement. If none of the kickers stands out they can ride with Folk. I voted go for it every time when in FG range. I’ve said “F it”. Just go for it on 4th down if we can’t make it anyway.
I keep hoping I’m going to see this offense, and the guy (DK) who created it, come into its own. Hasn’t happened yet. Folk? Just more Buc Luck-weird and bad. C’mon offense!!!!!!!
I say cut ur losses…Folks that is, before morale issues begin to surface at One Bucs Place due to his inconsistency. Jameis can only do so much to keep teammates from turning on Folks. Keeping him on board will eventually create a domino effect n lead to a don’t care attitude with others when they don’t perform well i.e., fumble, drop pass, missed block, etc. Let’s just take a snippet from Steelers coach Mike Tomlinson n just go for two after td or go for first down on 4th n short. Let’s get real n get out of animation cartoon mode. That’s all Folks!
I was at the game but a friend told me that Jay Feely on one of the broadcasts diagnosed Folks Problem immediately. Apparently he could somehow tell that he was curling the toe on his kicking foot when he was striking the ball which apparently you never do. I would like to think that the special teams coach could diagnose this as well.
@steven007 yes he said he could see it before Folk was striking the ball with his foot. Additionally, he said Folk was lifting his head up before following through, meaning he lost his confidence cuz he was looking too early and didn’t trust his instincts. The same thing Agauyo did all last season.
Unbelievable, thanks for the confirmation and additional information. Agreed, at this point I just think we need to find a kicker who is confident. Screw the historical field goal percentage Etc. Obviously getting the so-called best college kicker of all time followed up by a career 85% kicker hasn’t gone so well for us.
When a kicker has lost his stroke, he begins to overthink his mechanics and look up before his full follow-through. When you’re zoned you have no need to look up because your mental gyro knows it went straight before your toe ever touched the ball. The entire set-snap-hold-placement-kick-follow-through operation is in slow motion. You just *feel* it. Psycho Cybernetics.
Folk has contracted Aguayoitis, aka AADS-Aguayo Accuracy Deficiency Syndrome.
Can’t recall his name right now, But that injured Chiefs kicker they let go is a good one. It might be a good idea to sign him now. Because I guarantee you, once he recovers, somebody else will. He can Kick.
Get a kicker in here asap ! Season is in full swing and Folk has cost us one game already ! One to many ! Can not afford to wait or hope he improves ! We are restoring on the edge of disaster as long as he stays ! Still no pass rush , no stud running back , and no kicker Jason !
You know after watching the games today it is hard to understand why our offense does not throw a variety of different passes. I mean we really need to mix it up more and throw more slants, quick outs, and screens. The entire league does that but us and the Raiders. Plus it is hard to be excited about our team as we have beat two teams with a combined 1 win. Not encouraging at all.
“Psycho Cybernetics” “Aguayoitis, aka AADS-Aguayo Accuracy Deficiency Syndrome.” “There is no cure!”
HAHAHAHAHA!!
Thanks, Cobraboy I needed that laugh.
Have to get someone else …. there are at least 100 guys out there who can hit from 31 yards. Outside 40, go for it or punt. It seems to me we have the best punter in the league so it isn’t the worst option I can think of.
The way I see it is you changed the point after distance, shortened the kickoff field to create fewer runbacks and as a result altered the traditional kicker profile. Aquayo came into the league and couldn’t adjust, not to mention the pressure we put on him taking him in the 2nd round. Folk is an old-timer who can’t adapt to a new system. It seems when you keep 2 they focus on the competition soooooo, I would 1) find a UDFA who doesn’t have to worry about his reputation, 2) get a youngster that is not affected by rule changes, and 3) keep two on the roster to focus on competition. This position produces points and unfortunately we have lost an important game already this year and a bid for the playoffs last year. This is a priority and unlike past years must be addressed like a RB, or WR.
Please check my profile and see why everyone of my post are delayed for content. this has been going on for at least 8 months. I have never posted a derogatory comment about another poster, never used profanity, and have for the most part been very supportive of the jo’s and Buc’s. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Let Joe kick!

Lol at the last 2 choices.
October 8th, 2017 at 3:21 pm
Who would be good example of a kicker evaluator.
October 8th, 2017 at 3:21 pm
Hire a kicker evaluated who is also into hypnosis. sign a kicker with a good leg who can also be hypnotized.
October 8th, 2017 at 3:28 pm
The mere fact that Folk is even still on the roster is quite shocking to me.
October 8th, 2017 at 3:36 pm
They are bringing in 6 kickers Monday for tryouts. Including the chiefs injured kicker, they’re going to give him a physical.

Where is the bring back Aguayo option 😀

Such fragile psyches on these kickers….

I know the go for it is supposed to be a joke but what the hell its not like there’s going to be a lot of good kickers available anyway
October 8th, 2017 at 5:31 pm
I didn’t read any comments yet. My gut say’s they give him another shot.
October 8th, 2017 at 5:31 pm
To hear many fans talk, kickers are a nickel a baker’s dozen.
Another myth bites the dust.
October 8th, 2017 at 5:32 pm
Jason Licht has an eye on FSU Kicker, Ricky Aguayo. He might trade a 2nd and 3rd to draft Roberto lil bro in the 1st round.

Folk’s gonna have to nail some FG’s in that crowded loud dome over in Arizona. I just have no faith in him doing it.
October 8th, 2017 at 5:59 pm
I say keep two until one proves himself.
And I believe the Bucs started considering that when they cut Smith, which is why he was never replaced.
October 8th, 2017 at 6:02 pm
Cut Folk, sign another kicker.
Folk is broken.
October 8th, 2017 at 6:14 pm
Are we past the trade deadline? Call San Fran, offer a 3rd rounder for Gould.
October 8th, 2017 at 6:21 pm
The Packers have missed two PATs, we’d better sign the best available kicker before they do.

We have to MAKE FIELD GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
