Dismisses injury.
In the words of Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, it’s all a fuss over very little.
Friday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times shook the Bucs football world when he Twittered that GMC has a potential groin/pelvic injury and may need to undergo an MRI.
Somewhere in South Florida, Jay Ajayi began drooling.
But in a follow-up tweet roughly two hours later, Stroud got a hold of GMC and the Pro Bowl defensive tackle said, in so many words, folks need to chill.
@NFLSTROUD: More #Bucs Gerald McCoy has a groin strain and won’t play Sat. Not serious. “Whatever happened to good old fashion rest? McCoy said. I’m fine.”
Joe isn’t sure when GMC got this injury but in Joe’s practice notes Wednesday, Joe included how he saw GMC very slowly get up from a play and gingerly walk off the practice field. His first couple of steps seemed to be a limp, but after that, it just looked like GMC was awfully sore, not much worse. Joe even typed how it was unlikely serious.
GMC returned to practice Thursday, the final day of training camp.
This is still something to keep an eye on. A 29-year old defensive tackle, who already more than once in recent months has noted how his body is beat up from years of football pounding, now has a sore groin and pelvis, which is a lower back bone that effects hips and legs.
GMC’s greatest attribute is his get-off. Even Warren Sapp told Joe once GMC has a better get-off than he did. If GMC has a pelvic issue, then this could mess with his back and legs and that simply is not a good sign for any lineman on either side of the ball, much less for a guy like GMC who depends on his burst.
This GMC issue bears monitoring.

When it comes to injuries and all things proprioception, move over guys! Doctor Stroud is in the house! I can diagnose any injury from at least 1000 miles away from my air conditioned office at the Tampa Bay Times.

here we go again……………GMC saying he’s ok…………he’s saying he’s fine…………….
……..then when he get’s hurt early or late in the season (for real)…………he’ll go ahead blame it on a previous injury
….and then GMC will claim he fought through it and the whole NFL world and gullible fans will eat it up and say “See, look how tough he is”……and then he’ll be out for a few games.
THIS IS THE SAME PATTERN we’ve seen from him almost every single year in some shape or form……………this is complete nonsense.

but it doesn’t matter because ESPN will proclaim he’s a TOP 5 DT in the NFL even though he’s never on the field or making plays when he’s needed most

And facts do not matter!!! D.R. pointed out that GMC started an average of 15 games a season for the past five years.
Morons here wish to compare GMC to Sapp…a freaking HOF and a generational talent. The OBVIOUS comparision is however to SUH!!!
So how’s that working out? Well for all the whiners complaining about GMC taking his paycheck and not producing….Suh ripped off the Dolphins for 7 million more per year than GMC gets from the Bucs!!! He makes over 3 million more than JJ Watt. That’s seven MILLION MORE per year than GMC!!! 20 Million to 13 million. Gotta give some credit to the Bucs management there for locking up GMC early. Why did the Lions let Suh go if he’s worth the money?
And his production? In his two years with the Dophins he has a whopping 11 sacks to GMC’s 15.5 over the same period…for seven million MORE $$$.
If you look at the past four years GMC 33.5 sacks to Suh’s 25!!!

Last year I pointed out to tmax 5 games where McCoy came up big in the 4th quarter, but he just ignores it and pretends it didn’t happen.
Then you’ve got this anthem character, who has written more idiotic and factually incorrect nonsense over the last week than anyone on this board. He’s clueless about the history of the Bucs.
But sadly this is our country in 2017- peoole simply refuse to acknowledge the truth because it doesn’t jive with their personal opinions, no matter how baseless and moronic they might be.
