This is the kind of weekly habit we could all get into.
Last night, in the second of the five-part season series of “Hard Knocks,” the NFL Films crew did a feature on the close bond of the first couple of the Bucs, Brent and Miko Grimes.
They showed a scene of Brent and Miko running sprints on the Bucs practice fields, winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter and Miko sharing a warm embrace after practice, and a cute snapshot of home life with Brent playing with their little boy Aiden while mom Miko tries her best not to get hit by friendly fire between the two.
Then, Miko explained her ritual with Brent for road games.
Miko said she will fly into town, trying her best to land about the same time as the Bucs land. After the two check in at the hotel — Miko often stays at the team hotel but on a different floor than the team — she chooses the trendiest restaurant in the town for her and Brent to dine at before heading for her hotel room.
“And then we will have, uh, a little hanky panky,” Miko said. “A little fun.”
Brent added he always makes sure Miko has good seats down close to the field not so much that he can see her, but more importantly, that he can hear her.
Miko added on mornings before kickoff, she will constantly text Brent whatever she can think of to help motivate him. She will do serious research to find weaknesses in opposing quarterbacks or wide receivers and provide Brent with trash talk material, or whatever she can find to give Brent any sort of edge possible.

Miko may be brash – but there’s a lot to be said for taking such good care of your man. Brent be dippin into that fountain of youth before every game. Awesome!

Miko is just unabashedly herself. For better or worse. I’d rather deal with real people then fake people so I appreciate her for who she is. I am just so happy to see Grimes in a Bucs uniform. I freaking hated playing the falcons (will always hate the dirty birds) when Grimes was on there team just making play after play against us.

So glad Grimes is a Buc. Man, that cut on his leg was nasty. Hope it doesn’t mess with his game this season. I’ve always loved watching Grimes, even when he was harassing Freeman and killing our playoff run. Just a really cool dude and a unique football talent, who deserves a super bowl.

My wife looked at me during the last HBO episode of our Bucs and said, Honey, Grimes wife has a filthy mouth. And I said, you are correct dear, would you pour me another shot of crown royal?

Miko was my favorite part of Hard Knocks so far! Hope to see more of her.
