It appears there is one Buccaneers player who can claim his dedication compares to that of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.
Of course, Joe doesn’t have a locker at One Buc Palace and can only go by those in the know.
And it’s none other than Jameis comparing his devotion to Keith Tandy’s.
During June minicamp, Jameis was asked what Bucs defensive players are challenging him most. Here was his answer.
“Everyone. You got the best defensive tackle in the world up front. You know, you really can’t see what he does because we don’t have pads and stuff,” Jameis said. “But as far as linebackers, Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David, they’re the best at their craft, as well. In that secondary, Keith Tandy, he is so smart. That’s the guy that leaves the building when I leave the building, and you’ve got two great corners in Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves. You know, everywhere around we have great guys – and Chris Conte, as well. Those guys work hard, and that’s what we want out of our defense.”
Interesting that Jameis appeared to refer to Tandy challenging him off the field in the realm of football smarts and work ethic. Joe has never heard Jameis name another player who leaves One Buc Palace when he does.
Tandy has said he’s like to be an NFL coach one day, and he has been praised for having the appropriate drive to achieve that. Joe, however, is only interested in whether Tandy can duplicate the four picks he had through the final five games of last season.
If somehow the Keith Tandy of last year’s second half shows up in September, then the Bucs defense could be capable of amazing feats this season.

I was sour on Tandy in the beginning of last year, but the more he plays, and the more we learn about him, the more I like the kid!
