Jameis Still “Trying To Change The Culture”

July 1st, 2017

The “C” word returns

Moments after the 2015 season ended, America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, spewed an epic rant about how Bucs players radically needed to change.

Early last year, when the Bucs got off to a brutal, frustrating start, Dirk Koetter talked about something in the Bucs culture that he needed to personally fix.

Well, the Bucs won five in a row at midseason and finished 9-7 for 2016 — a play or two from 10-6 and the playoffs.

But per Jameis, talking to NFL Network today, the Bucs remain a team seeking to dump the loser mentality from its collective soul.

“It’s a different mindset because we’re trying to change the culture into a winning culture,” Winston said. “The expectations, we’re going to have those, and we’re going to have our doubts. But as a team, we have to come together and help change that culture.”

Hmmm, so why is Jameis still talking about finding a winning culture? Joe could speculate all weekend long.

Perhaps the Bucs are still finding “weeds in the roses?

Until the Buccaneers find some success in the post season, the quest for “winning culture change” will continue.

    Make it so #3.

Joe, because I care, I’ll make this easy for you so you can speculate about cheerleaders versus trying to get a handle on the obvious which easy for anyone to see. Until the bucs rid themselves of career losers who do not have the drive nor are hostile, badass or win at all cost guys the losing culture will still cultivate. especially considering the leader of the losing culture is already crying about his knees and setting the table for another mediocre season that the fanboys will cry; he needs help, he’s quadruple teamed every play, he’s good in the community… but never do they say remember that game 93 took over

  3. Pickgrin Says:

GMC played well last year and the Buccaneers are a much better team with Gerald than without him.

No knowledgeable football fan would dispute that…. –

  4. Dewey Selmon Says:

We are still in the first quarter of Dirk/Jameis. They still have years ahead of them. The culture is changing. Do you think DeSean Jackson would of signed with Lovie/mcClown?

TMAX just shows how ignorant he is about NFL defense when he constantly attacks GMC. Just let him continue to show his lack of football knowledge.

The rest of us realize that it is not a fluke to be voted into the Pro Bowl year in and year out. Has he had injuries? Sure, who on the DL hasn’t had injuries? GMC constantly takes up 2 opposing OL because he is always double teamed and even then sometimes he wins and gets a sack or TFL on a ball carrier. If you want to trash anyone then consider all of our defensive linemen who could not get regular penetration when taking on a single blocker.

You see, GMC’s peers in the league at the player and coaching levels realize how good he is. I guess TMAX knows more than all of them though. Armchair know it all.

Mentally they need to get in the playoffs….Until that happens they view themselves as unaccomplished….aka losers.

How many games has he taken over. Please include date or YouTube link. I could give a rats ass what his peers say he’s a career loser who has has quit on coaches. When they start handing out Lombardi trophies for peer praise let me know.

I’m literally so sick of seeing peeps like tmaxcon think they know wtf they’re talking about. Please, if ur gonna be negative, then get the fuk out.

I clicked on the “weeds in the roses” link, and I remember all of those posters. I wish that some of them could come back. The trolls that are circling these waters have done their best to embarrass the fan base in general, and soil this website, in particular.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The answer to this is simple….you always have to work on motivating culture….you never stop working on it….you don’t take it for granted. Jameis knows this.

If you think for one second, Jameis is spending his time working on GMC…then you are absolutely a fool.

  11. Bob in valrico Says:

I have been puzzled by Jameis’s epic rant for sometime.Maybe he thought some defensive players were a little too happy that the season was over.Maybe he knew that Lovie would be in hot water.I found it hard to fault them after two dismal years. First and foremost it is coaches job to instill a
winning attitude and Lovie didn’t inspire confidence with most of the players.

“How many games has he taken over… ”

How many players on this team have done that? I think maybe Jameis has tried. Who else?

    No one.

So by your reasoning, we should cut most of the team.

“The CultThe” INCLUDES The Fan Base.

If GMC has been a cancer than Fans of Depression like T Maxx are palpitations in the rectum.

The two wpuld go hand and hand in my opinion.

Difference is. One of them you live with the other you simply remove.

GMC is more like the scar that reminds you of the cancer.

If anything GMC and LVD are the only reasons we had hope as fans that we would be ok.

Guess what… Thank God for both of those career loosers. They have made it bearable to be a Bucs fan. Our expectations for them have been high. But now we dont just have them to look forward to….

All GMC needs to do is what he has always done… Show up and PRODUCE ALL PRO NUMBERS.

And the palpitations in the rectum are hardly noticeable!!!

Time to rise up Fans of Inspiration…. The culture change is in our hands now!!!!

Let’s not relegate this to the players. Many fans need a culture change. I’m on the gig Thursdays,I wear a Tampa Bay Winston thingamaghig around my neck everyday you know the one’s you clip IDs to. A guy approaches wearing a Buccaneer Tee shirt( I’m seeing more and more of this )I says to him “you ready to watch’em win the Superbowl next year” He says playoffs first round. I’m like d@$! this fan base sucks. Look man I get it you gotta make the playoffs first before you can win a Superbowl but to me to h3ll with that being the be all end all. My mindset is about winning next years Superbowl. Nick burleson said ME didn’t make his list because we didn’t make the playoffs. Screw the playoffs,if you don’t go on to win the Superbowl what really dose it matter.

  15. rayjay1122 Says:

    Here you go TMAX

    http://kmmsports.com/gerald-mccoy-has-shot-at-bucs-history/ States the following:

TAMPA, Fla. – In a season that’s been otherwise forgettable, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has been a big bright spot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

McCoy enters the final game of the season (Sunday at New Orleans) with nine sacks. He has a chance to join Warren Sapp (who had double-digit sacks three times) and Santana Dotson as the only defensive tackles in franchise history to record 10 sacks in a season.

“I think it’s quite an honor for an inside player to have 10 sacks,’’ coach Greg Schiano said. “That doesn’t happen a lot. Gerald’s that kind of player. God willing, he stays healthy, I expect that to be the yearly norm rather than an exception. That doesn’t happen a lot. That’s a special feat. We need him to do that for us to win this week.’’

Sorry to delete the remainder, but Joe is not ok with people cutting and pasting someone else’s complete work and posting it here to be read.–Joe

  16. Lamarcus Says:

Gmc is just been ruined w losing. Hard to change that loser mentality.

Repeated drivel on McCoy…despite repeated responses from posters.Moronic behavior of a moron. Thanks for posting Rayjay.
