Herm Talks Fitz, Vince Young
June 30th, 2017Earlier this week, we learned that Vince Young — when he learned Ryan Fitzpatrick was signed to back up America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston — lost it and became unhinged saying all sort of vulgar things about Fitz.
Say what you want about Fitz, but he doesn’t come across as a guy who actually believed an NFL team bought him a brand new Hummer off the rack for no good reason.
Former Bucs defensive assistant coach and all-around good guy Herm Edwards had a few thoughts on what Young had to say about Fitz. You can enjoy Herm’s words in the BSPN video below.

No, sad is when someone has talent but never gets “the chance” !!!!!!!!! But people that get that chance and self destruct and lie and won’t listen to those trying to help and instead of listen to those “others” is not said!!!!!! No one should be said when that garbage truck comes and hauls away the trash!!!!!!!
Is 1 Buc a mental health facility???? Is it a drug treatment program???? Do the Glazers need to hire counselors and social workers???????
No sympathy for the liar that tried to bring down everything around him!!!!!!
Good riddance!!!!!

I’ll take Fitz on the roster as JW3’s backup every day over any of the other ex-NFL starter QB’s that were/are still on the market when the Bucs signed him. Hell I’d take Fitz over (Josh) McCown…starter or backup

@ToesOnTheLine: Nevermind!!!
June 30th, 2017 at 11:52 am
@Toesontheline
especially the ones that have mentally melted down!!!!! We don’t need our head coach talking to cops and looking for qb’s in middle of the night because no one can find them and they have a gun and were talking about “quitting” football and “ending it”!!!!!!!!!
We need a “power rankings” list of QB’s that have mentally melted down!!!!!! Jfro-6pak and VY would finally top a chart!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vince has a point….luckily his hair covers it nicely!
June 30th, 2017 at 12:17 pm
sad is @realist…simple as that…..
VY has a point….and i’ll take it a step further…..i’ll take KAP over fitz, glennon, chase daniels, mark sanchez, any of the jets and Texans qbs…..
you got sorry qbs like mike glennon and brock signing big contracts like they really deserved it or are that good….that’s BS….GO BUCS!!!!
June 30th, 2017 at 12:34 pm
Well I personally prefer lousy QB’s on other teams.
June 30th, 2017 at 12:51 pm
and fitz isn’t lousy?…LOL….he pulled the oldest trick in the book on the jets…play decent, get paid, gain weight and play lousy…..GO BUCS!!!!

IMHO, if Jameis goes down for any length of time, we are in serious trouble.
I was in utter shock and disbelief when I heard we signed Fitzgerald.
I sure hope if Jameis gets hurt, that Fitzgerald proves me wrong.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is a garbage QB, but the sad thing is, there’s many trash QBs in the NFL worst than him. The NFL is a garbage league, full of Human Waste.
June 30th, 2017 at 2:23 pm
I really like Herm Edwards. Always have. Ryan Fitzpatrick has better career averages than Vince Young across almost all measurable stats.
June 30th, 2017 at 2:41 pm
We talkin’ back-ups?!!! Back-ups?! Man, please!
Maybe, just maybe Fitzy never was as good as Vince. He put in the work though and didn’t melt down when he didn’t get his way. No offense to Vince, he might be an alright guy, but shut up and go away. If he were that good he’d still have his CFL job! No?!
@LakeLand- You have been posting negatively these days. Are you saying Glennon is better than Fitz? He had an awful year, given. He’s still better than a lot of other options like Ryan Griffin, for instance! Cheer up!

If we stay relatively healthy and Jaboo has to take a couple off, I’m ok with Fitz. Guys underneath are gonna be open and he’ll take what they give him. Then he’ll loosen em up with Jackpot and Mike. He’s fine. With good players around them, NFL caliber QB’s will be fine. Smart dude. Loves being here and loves working with #3. I think he’ll be a real asset to Jameis. The dudes still gonna be 23 at seasons end and hasn’t had a respectable QB on the sideline to talk to during a game. Bajakian needed the help. Jameis and Fitz will be side by side the whole game.

Vince young? Lmao
He’s trash. To stupid to be an NFL QB.
Or a garbage man
June 30th, 2017 at 3:04 pm
Spot on there Herm. Same thing I told my son…Who told you..life was suppose to be fair? Life gives you a chance and a few opportunities. Make the best of them.
My wife just said, AMEN..as she is pouring me a double shot of the Queens Crown..Royal that is! AS for Vince Young? the oven ringer says he is fully cooked and done. Stick a fork in’em and serve him up!!
June 30th, 2017 at 3:07 pm
Vince Young go get some professional help its OVER
June 30th, 2017 at 3:09 pm
Fitz × Winston= one he’ll of alot of ints lmao! One big turn over machine!
June 30th, 2017 at 3:33 pm
^^^Now, that’s funny!

Fitz is a better leader, that is why he has a job over VY and JF5. QB calls for some intangibles. Physical talent is nice, but how is the talent between your ears? How is your management and leadership capabilities?
JF5 and VY are not heady enough to be QBs.
Kaepernick is better than both, but he does not have a job.
Backup QBs by and large are not supposed to be distractions to the team or franchise. Unfortunately for Kap, his talent doesn’t out weigh how polarizing of a figure he is, which is seen as a distraction to the team. See Tim Tebow.
Miguel Montero, formerly the catcher of the Cubs just found out the hard way, you can’t be a distraction as a backup.
July 1st, 2017 at 12:55 pm
You’d have to be pretty stupid and have an extremely low football I.Q to want Young on your team over Fitz.
