“Soldier” Rhetoric Revived By Raheem

"That right, Kellen. You're one of my 53 soldiers."
Raheem The Dream’s most animated moment at his Monday news conference came when he channeled his inner Kellen Winslow, Jr.
Yes, months ago Joe promised Winslow personally that he would stop calling him a military nickname that referenced his famous soldier comments during his college days.
It became a national story. And Joe has kept his word.
But it seems Raheem The Dream took Winslow’s soldier references to heart and has now adopted the soldier lingo.
“The only way you get a win is you know you’re not alone. I know I got 53 soldiers. There better be 53 soldiers ready for me to come in and meet with them guys right now. Be ready to deal with getting that next win,” Raheem The Dream said today.
Joe’s not a big fan of calling anyone outside the military “soldiers.” It’s just not respectful, especially during a time when the U.S. is considering sending another 40,000 troops to risk their lives in Afghanistan.
Joe suspects the Bucs communications staff will see to it that Raheem The Dream never uses the term “soldier” again in this context.
Stick to “violent,” Rah. Joe misses that.

Do you think the defense is taking violent to mean “hit with your shoulder” instead of wrapping people up and tackling?

If the Bucs are Raheem’s soldiers, then Josh Johnson is being sent on suicide missions.
It was JJ against the Eagles yesterday. You don’t leave your “troops” out in the open like that.

Why prevent relevant discussion? Is Steve part of the ownership group here? Does he rent his condo to Joe? Or, and perhaps more sadly, is Joe afraid to catch a little heat from a self-proclaimed expert on all things sport?

Raheem is trying to fire his team up, and there is noting wrong with that. Raheem is a simple guy and he is trying hard. I don’t think he is a good coach, because if he was he’d fire Bates and take over the DC duties. He’d get Olie some real help at the OC level and things would get better. This was the best game the Bucs have played so far. JJ was better this week and gained valuable experience against that Plili Defense.
I support his reference to “Soldiers” and I think he means it with the utmost respect. I think most “Soldiers” will understand the reference. We all love our “Soldiers” past and present. Any reference to our soldiers just helps Americans think more about them, and that’s a good thing. It’s just too bad the “Idiot in Chief” was never a soldier because he might think a little more of them. Semper Fi & Go Bucs!!!

So, if all things Clear Channel are off limits, you should include a disclaimer on every article you post that concerns any affiliate…………..otherwise you will just become an internet version of NBC.
