Coaches No Help To Josh Johnson

Per the Philadelphia Inquirer, Bucs coaches offered no help to Josh Johnson in dealing with the pressure the Eagles defense threw at the Bucs quarterback.
Josh Johnson got blitzed. Philadelphia threw the kitchen sink at Johnson and, compounded by dropped passes (four by Michael Clayton), Johnson had a rough day throwing three picks.
When Johnson came to the sidelines looking for advice, his coaches offered no help, claims Matt Gelb of Philadelphia Inquirer.
After another unsuccessful drive, Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Johnson walked over to the sideline and asked his coaches for some advice. Johnson, making his second career start, had anticipated a heavy Eagles pass rush. But nothing like this. Not nearly every play.
The Buccaneers’ coaches didn’t have much of an answer.
“They said they’ve never seen it happen before, where a team just constantly brings everyone,” Johnson said.
Joe thinks that quote speaks for itself and won’t even bother commenting other than to ask, was Jeff Jagodzinski really the problem?

Wow! what a great way to mix and match quotes…. To make it out to be what u want. Josh never cam to the sideline to hear “We have never seen anything like this before.” He said during halftime the caoches express to the fact the eagles blitzed on every every every single play. I mean they blitzed going for the coin toss they brought 5 men instead of the normally 3 or 4.

This has to be a joke. We’ve seen it just about every game since Buffalo. Other than the Dallas game, they’ve been blitzing right up the center on just about every play in every game this season.

Chichi – Nobody is mixing and matching quotes. Get real. A legitimate newspaper printed this quote from Josh Johnson. What Johnson said during halftime is totally irrelevant to this quote.
Readers here can interpret it as they wish.

JJ threw 3 picks, not 4.
I’m not at all happy with the Bucs this season, but headline of this article is just unfair. Once Philly built a lead, they blitzed constantly to keep the young QB off balance. Without Faine, there wasn’t much anybody could do. No coach is going to be able solve that problem.

You are absolutely right about the picks. Joe corrected it. There must be gremlins changing his copy (and littering it with comma splices). Joe thought sure he had Johnson for the correct number (three). Thanks for catching that.

C’mon man. Olie is unqualified for the OC job. Simple solution would have been to go to a 2 Back set which he didn’t do. I would have given JJ the exra man in protection he needed. He could have even went with a wishbone. Chucky would have seen that and put the extra Back in for protection, screens, or Checkdown. Chip the rusher and get open for the check. Supid is as Stupid does. I’m surprised Mahan had a job in the first place. We need a new OC and DC bad.
