Oh man!!!! I don’t know what is more exciting, The new rookie on the field or knowing that CC23 is headed for the bench!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Poor Chris Conte………………..
The fact is folks………….he’s still on the roster…..so he very well could be our starter or be thrusted into that role as a backup if the starters get hurt
but hey……it could be worse…..like have “toast Jenkins” or “sabby pass the jelly” back there…………..now imagine those two back there…..talk about a freakin nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 5th, 2017 at 6:30 pm
SB….What do you mean he smoked get Jude?

He missed 4 tackles already ha

Small sample size – but he looks good – LOL
God I hope Licht got this pick right. We needed an upgrade with young talent at Safety in the worst way. Hope Licht drafts another one next year as well. Cmon Justin Evans. You can dooooo eeeet. Be like Winston and set up tackling dummy pads all over your back yard (once you get your deal signed and buy a back yard that is…)

Well, based on all that tape( reviewed it 3 times!), I feel safe in pronouncing him a future All pro!
And quite possibly a hall of Famer!!
Glad we can put free safety to rest, for next 12-14 years!!
Now- when can I have some tape of Howard!!
May 5th, 2017 at 8:05 pm
Capt. Tim, your facetiousness mixed with your sardonic posts are quite tight.
May 5th, 2017 at 8:17 pm
But can he dance?
May 5th, 2017 at 8:27 pm
Where will he play? Free Safety or Strong Safety.
May 5th, 2017 at 8:39 pm
Based on their comments they like him at free. They talk about how rangy he is and how well he finds the ball in the air.

Yes.
Bucs safeties are cross trained and play both positions at times even when they are starting at one or the other.

^^^ Sorry, just juiced after 41 years of fandom to see a 5th round pick come in and challenge for a spot on a serious basis. I will maintain my optimism despite critiques.
May 5th, 2017 at 9:07 pm
Not to mention how stoked I am to see the offense with Evans, DJax, Brate, OJ and Hump on the field at the same time. My Goodness, if they get caught in the wrong personnel set!
May 5th, 2017 at 9:42 pm
Cut him NOW!!!
Ten Years Later we draft another Safety in the Second Round
and give him the same Number – #21
Haven’t the BUCS learned their lesson?!?!
Get rid of him Now!!!!

@Buc Neckid
Would you give the kid a chance before you declare him a bust?
Justin Evans, For all of his flaws, was a pretty good player at Texas A&M, good enough to earn Co-Team MVP with Myles Garrett. He is money in coverage, with 11 PBU’s and 4 Picks in his senior year.
He can Mirror a receivers route and stick to them like glue, and is a natural smooth runner with plus speed and great range.
The down low word out of OBP is that Licht and the scouting department had a late first round grade on Justin Evans.
I trust in Licht, and I trust in Brett Maxie to coach him up. I mean the guy (Maxie) made Verner a pro-bowler in Tennessee. Not to mention, I’ve never seen Keith Tandy play better than he did to close out a season.
If Justin Evans takes to coaching quickly, Like a one Kwon Alexander once did, he has to talent to potentially supplant an inc u mbent starter at either Safety spot.

has *the* talent…
May 6th, 2017 at 1:12 am
Good stuff @Blake_bucsfan
I think Evans is going to prove some people wrong.
May 6th, 2017 at 9:14 am
That kid has some serious foot quicks. Wow!
You cannot teach speed or quicks.

Blake
Excellent defense of Evans! I agree. He’s almost like a safety with cover corner skills….do we think a third ball hawk back there might be good thing in a division loaded with QB’s and talented WR’s and TE’s? I’m just hoping Evans can help give Smitty a piece to at least slow Greg Olson….I dread him every time we play the Panthers.
May 6th, 2017 at 2:17 pm
I dont know if he’s going to be any good but that boy out their sliding. At least he’s athletic, he looks quick as hell on that video.
May 6th, 2017 at 4:02 pm
@Stpete
Why thank you sir, And I agree with you 100 percent on needing to slow Olson.
Honestly, the Panthers worry me more than the Falcons. I think that Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel will be a pesky combination.
However, with the massive Influx of offensive talent for us this offseason, we should definitely be able to win some shootouts this year.

Two informative videos for anyone trying to understand what the Bucs have in mind with the addition of 2 New safeties.
You tube //JJ Wilcox career highlights welcome to Tampa
right underneath is another,/// Hardest hitting safety in the SEC.
All I can say is “Damn”!!!!
To Buc 1987 ……Mama said knock you out.
