The Kiss Of Death?
April 28th, 2017This may make Bucs fans burp up their biscuits and gravy this morning.
On paper, the Bucs look to be a truly frightening offense this fall. The only puzzle piece missing is a running back.
Think about it: Mike Evans, O.J. Howard, Adam (Rudy!) Humphries and DeSean Jackson. Who is a defensive coordinator to double? Answer: Nobody. And instead, you start working over a rosary.
On paper, the Bucs may have never had a more dangerous offense (though Chucky’s Super Bowl team had a pretty frightening offense).
Yet this morning, when Joe just started to get over his draft buzz and come down off the 18 Coke Zeros drank last night, a Twitter from the former BSPN star and notorious FS1 gasbag Skip Bayless found its way into Joe’s timeline.
@RealSkipBayless: Man, with Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and now OJ Howard, Jameis should have a big year and Bucs will threaten the Falcons.
Virtually everything that comes out of this guy’s piehole is garbage. So this scares the hell out of Joe. It was a major buzzkill when Joe read it.
It almost feels like right now the Bucs have been cursed.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:32 am
Well really, what do you think he will say? It’s obvious to everyone the offense looks good on paper. Don’t believe in jinxes.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:33 am
Unrelated, but I’d love to read an Erv Kaufman recap of the draft party last night.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:33 am
I hate that guy.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:35 am
Even the dumbest sports minds get it right now and then. After all, look at the TBT sports staff. Now and then they stumble across the right answer. Not a lot…but it happens. Not a curse…a coincidence.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:36 am
No curse, its just that nobody can disagree, its too blatant. I doubt you can find one creditable person out there who thinks the Bucs offense will be crap next year.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:36 am
A broken clock is still right twice a day!
April 28th, 2017 at 10:37 am
So Skip Bayless, NosBos and ASJ go into a bar and……….?
April 28th, 2017 at 10:38 am
Not sure I understand the problem here.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:38 am
Agreed! This guy is a moron but did he suggest we trade away Brate?
Speaking of the Falcons did anyone see McKinleys “speech”. Lol omg. Hood rich.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:45 am
Regardless of how ppl feel about him, it is a national sports commentator talking about the bucs and what may be in the future, need to get used to it with hard knocks and it should be something of pride that people are starting to think of the bucs as “that team”
April 28th, 2017 at 10:46 am
DB55, 1st thing Id do with ol Tak is give him a mental eval, that dude will be the NFC souths version of vontaz burfict, he needs to lend some of his desire to GMC
April 28th, 2017 at 10:47 am
I hope this team is ready for the hype because it’s coming.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:48 am
We enter the men’s room and see you holding Dave’s scrotum Summer. Now remove that gerbil from your arse. Skip can be annoying but he AIN’T dumb. Challenge the falcons??? Please the division is our, we ain’t done drafting yet.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:48 am
This offense is way better than the 2002 offense.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:48 am
@Joe(s): when this year’s draft is in the books, would you please analyze the drafts of our division rivals? I would like to get your take on how those teams, in particular, did. I know that you guys are working hard on other aspects of the draft, so no hurry!
April 28th, 2017 at 10:51 am
And Kwon gone pap the gadget man up twice a year Blake.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:51 am
Im not a fan of Bayless, but im not sure what the problem is either. People all over are getting amped about the Bucs, it’s refreshing
April 28th, 2017 at 10:55 am
September cant come quick enough.D.Cook in the second with zay jones and we will kick some serious a**
April 28th, 2017 at 10:57 am
Am I the only person here who thinks it’s not time to panic over our running game…..we have the draft, UDFA, FA, Trades & Martin……RELAX!!!
April 28th, 2017 at 10:58 am
lol after this draft is finished and we start gearing up for hard knocks, you better get used to the super duper high expectations. Koetter is officially cooking with GAS! If this offence doesn’t blow then someone will need to be held accountable. I can almost guarantee we will be trading up in round 2.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:07 am
Nos there you are. Glad your still alive buddy
April 28th, 2017 at 11:07 am
So far SO GOOD! CAN’T WAIT to see which running back we get!! Then it’s ALL DEFENSE…The stronger we draft & free agent our defense, the better our offense will be……I am CAUTIOUSLY excited…
It’s fun to be a bucfan again….
April 28th, 2017 at 11:10 am
Shannon Sharpe needs to provide a crack-back block on this Lil’ Buckaroo.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:17 am
We’ll be fine. What else would Bayless say? Even he can’t contrive a narrative that spins our draft pick negatively. At worst they could play it off non chalantly considering its the Bucs but even that’s a stretch. In all we had the top offensive player fall into our laps and it has to be considered a win for us. Even bspn.com listed us as “winners” in their draft “winners and losers”.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:18 am
@FuNkYxMuNkEy – Hahahahahahaha!!!!!
April 28th, 2017 at 11:19 am
Joe…you are just full of silliness today. Just what did you drink last night? Or did you double up with some other…recreational products?
April 28th, 2017 at 11:23 am
Okay, who hacked Nole’s account? We all know the Coast Guard is currently searching for his body under the Skyway.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:24 am
Get a grip on yourself Joe. You are wrong, and you have beem wrong for months.
The sooner you accept it the better.
EVERYONE thinks this is a great pick. All except the hardcore Dalvin fanboys like yourself.
You’ll come around eventually. Just like you did with Hump.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:29 am
The draft party was epic!!!! The commish throws a hell of a bash;). Sheeeeeeee-it, OJ MF’N HOWARD…. Who got dat juice?!!?! We do we do!!!! Who got dat juice?!!?? We do we do! Oooooooooooooooo Yeeeeah!!!!!!!!
Game on and… F**k the Falcons!!!!!
Oh snap, almost forgot… Hang in there Nos, ur boy is still on the board but keep that hotline on speed dial playa… Just in case!
April 28th, 2017 at 11:34 am
My bad… he’s getting mocked up to the other Bay @33
April 28th, 2017 at 11:41 am
For our sake I hope you’re right Nos. Not really worried about it though.
Because even though I still whole heartedly believe that Cmac is going to be a beast, Once we’re done address our O with this draft, they won’t be able to hang with us in a shoot-out.
April 28th, 2017 at 11:42 am
You drink Coke Zeros?…and on draft night no less?
Party hardy
April 28th, 2017 at 11:43 am
He’s usually pretty accurate except when talking about the cowboys tim Tebow LeBron James or anything football related. Other than those topics lol he’s ok. Just don’t root for the bucs please no curses
April 28th, 2017 at 11:53 am
“It was a major buzzkill when Joe read it.”- Joe
So what’s the purpose of sharing it with us?
More Nonsense….I forgot. Is nonsense day today. Lee your post today are reaching new lows. It’s almost like going LIVE on draft day.
WTH is going on here?
Lee we still love’ya!
LBK- Lee Buzz Kill
See you next week!
April 28th, 2017 at 11:57 am
So what’s the problem Joseph? What did he say wrong? Is it because he said we’d only threaten the Falclowns? They are the reigning NFC Champs you know who once again took us to the woodshed right? Until we are in the playoffs and they’re not all we can do is threaten them. I can’t stand the weak, sniveling, bassless viice having and testosterone free (wo)man like everyone else but he did say Fameis should have a big year you know. Come on Francis lighten up!
April 28th, 2017 at 11:58 am
I’m sure he’s said great things about New England and Seattle the last few seasons. You’re giving this moron way too much power over your happiness. Just do what everybody else does, and don’t watch his stupid show… if he has a show.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:01 pm
All these “toys” men nothing if you can’t block it up
April 28th, 2017 at 12:01 pm
Joes, were u guys possessed by the soul of Lavonte David when writing this weak a$$ article?
C’mon man (michael irvin voice)
April 28th, 2017 at 12:09 pm
This was the weirdest draft I have ever seen. Alabama was suppose to have 5 1st round picks and 3 Top-10 picks. But CB Marlon Humphrey was the first to come off the board at 16. Dalvin Cook wasn’t the only player to fall. Johnathan Allen fell to 17, O. J.Howard fell to 19 and Ruben Foster fell to 31 and Cam Robinson hasn’t been drafted. The biggest loser of the 1st round is Mike Glennon. He went from a sure starter to a questionable backup in a few hours. Ryan Pace even said at his Presser that Mitch Trubisky was his Franchise QB.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:10 pm
Skip is trash.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:12 pm
2015 all over again for Poor Mike Glennon, it seems like the guy can’t catch a break.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:12 pm
^Ryan Pace is a straight up doofus.
*pays 40 million for our Back Up*
*trades away 5 picks to move up 1 spot for a QB that SF didn’t even want*
All I can say is thank god we have a competent GM.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:13 pm
Tom Jones = Skip Bayless.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:21 pm
I miss him next to Stephen A. Smith. They are very entertaining together, and not so much apart from each other.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:25 pm
Overall the division just got a little bit tougher. The Falcons pick was a good one, the Saints made two smart moves, and our pick was the best of the division. The Panthers I think worst case got potentially one of the best slot WR in the NFL but I will wait to see if he can be a full time RB.

Other than a hot wife and millions upon millions of dollars for very little NFL work and wear & tear. 🙂 I know what you mean though LLB. I’m still stunned by the Bears folly. Pay sticker price plus for Glennon then handover multiple picks to a team who didn’t even want a qb. John Fox must be campaigning for an earky retirement package. I feel a fake Fred Sanford/Jeff Tedford heart attack coming on!
April 28th, 2017 at 12:38 pm
Joe sez:
“Virtually everything that comes out of this guy’s piehole is garbage.”
—
Yeah, but the same could be said for the lunatic running the country, but you’re his biggest fanboy… so no need to worry.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:42 pm
Man, one of the Joes (Lee) is really in a tailspin today, huh? i haven’t seen this much nonsense on JBF in quite some time.
Kiss of death because some know-nothing talking head from BSPN says our offense got better? Talking about trading Brate, like we can’t have 2 tighends on the field at the same time?
Maybe come back tomorrow and try again? Get some sleep. Or some pot. Something to help you chill out man…
April 28th, 2017 at 12:42 pm
lol 365!
April 28th, 2017 at 12:46 pm
@RealSkipBayless: “Man, with Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and now OJ Howard, Jameis should have a big year and Bucs will threaten the Falcons.” Lots of players look good on paper (or whirlpool, whatever) but getting a team to put it all together and become DOMINANT is obviously very elusive. Guys underperform, injuries happen, Lady Luck dumps on your parade … whatever. Bucs have excellent potential … in players AND coaching staff … but we still need to make it happen on the field.
Like Baron von Richtofen was quoted as saying: “The duty of the fighter pilot is to patrol his area of the sky, and shoot down any enemy fighters in that area. ANYTHING ELSE IS RUBBISH.” I suspect that Dirk Koetter would agree with the Baron 100% when it comes to winning & losing.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:55 pm
Im going to start guessing who was the contributing writer.. No doubt this was Lee. Same as the Brate is Trade Bait story….
April 28th, 2017 at 1:15 pm
Deeyham Joe..Why you giving up on Martin? Martin is going to come back and have a blockbuster year. Mock my words here. And I don’t think we go running back in the 2nd. We go O line or Defense.
April 28th, 2017 at 1:44 pm
The guy is an idiot, but even a broken clock is right twice a day
April 28th, 2017 at 1:54 pm
Did you purposely forget Brate?
April 28th, 2017 at 2:01 pm
I love Skip! I think he is actualy required to take the view that is opposite “common sense” on ESPN … that’s his whole job and he’s great at it.
April 28th, 2017 at 2:04 pm
lol 365 ….as white guys would say ” I can feel the burn”!!!!!!
April 28th, 2017 at 3:01 pm
Jameis is 3-1 versus the Falcons, and in the one loss he left the game early but had 260 yards and 3 TDs with no turnovers.
April 28th, 2017 at 4:56 pm
Doooooooooooooooosh
April 28th, 2017 at 5:52 pm
I can’t stand that guys face let alone what he has to say…
