Faine At 80 Percent

Injured center Jeff Faine says he would have practiced this week and would play tomorrow if the Bucs’ medical staff would let him.
It’s a battle to play he plans to fight harder next week, Faine said on 1010 AM on Friday. Saddled with a torn tricep suffered Week 1 against the Cowboys, Faine said he’s at 80 percent strength.
“They’re trying to push me back as far as they can,” he said. But at center “I use the tricep every single play.”
Joe would love to see Faine back, but there’s no sense in rushing him. Might as well bring him back after the bye week.

He proved what he was worth when he went down and we saw the line become deflated with Mahan under center. Center is a thankless job and Faine is amongst the best in my opinion.
