Well, it just wouldn’t be Schedule Day.
Per WFAN-AM 660, the powerful CBS affiliate in New York, the Giants play at the Buccaneers on Sunday, October 1, Week 4 of the 2017 schedule.
This isn’t just a one-off leak, CBS has the entire Giants schedule here.
The whole schedule is revealed tonight at 8 p.m.
As for the Giants, well, that’s a brutally tough game early. Joe’s hoping the schedule gods give the Bucs at least one “easy” one during Weeks 1 through 3.

[Updated: 3:52 p.m.: – Looks like Saints open in Minnesota and Chicago is in Atlanta to start the season, plus the Jets are in Buffalo and New England is in Kansas City. The Panthers, per reports, are off to the 49ers and the Bucs play at Green Bay in December. All those teams on the Bucs’ schedule. So that cuts the possible Bucs opening-day opponent to Arizona (road), Detroit (home) or Miami (road).
[Updated 3:56 p.m.] Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bucs will host the Bears Sept. 17.
[Updated 4:40 p.m.] Luke Easterling of USA Today claims the Bucs play at the Dolphins to open the 2017 season.
[Updated: 4:46 p.m.] J.P. Peterson of WDAE-AM 620 reports the Bucs will host the Belicheats on Thursday Night Football, Oct. 5.
[Updated: 4:54 p.m.] J.P. Peterson has further updates: At Vikings, Sept. 25; at Cardinals, Oct. 15.

If we do not find an RB better than mediocre Muscle Turtle we’ll be out of it by week four anyway. He won’t be missed. A lack of an adequate RB will be!!!
As BSPN called theirs the “way too early power rankings”…folks are out with power rankings updated since FA….I know power ranking are about as meaningful as mock drafts but it’s that time of the year…it’s what we have.
The Bucs are starting to get national recognition. Our FA class is being praised and two of the six rankings I viewed had us at ten with a couple more at 11 and then a couple down there at 19 and wherever PFF buries us.
I feel like a top ten power ranking is deserved at this point. Get the breaks…the career years from the stars and we are headed to Minny!

We have quite possibly the worst group of running backs in the NFL.
Doug Martin has put us in a terrible position.
Hopefully, we hit the RB position hard in the draft. We probably should draft two running backs and hopefully one will be the top 3 in the draft.

I can live with any of that. Not that it matters we will play who we have to in the end lol… but so far this schedule looks much better early on than last year; when we had to play these 4 teams in the first 5 weeks:
1-Atlanta – 2017 SB appearance (should have won it all)
2-Arizona – 2016 NFC championship appearance
4-Broncos – 2016 SB winner
5-Carolina – 2016 SB appearance

Exactly. Thats a brutal game for the giants not the bucs. I hope its a 1pm game too. The northern road teams always look dead walkin in at halftime down here. No sure wins of course but thats brutal for the gmen. Go bucs

But you don’t know when, which is critical. When the schedule is released, people are able to plan their fall weekends out. Know what games to go to and when, etc. Not sure why people don’t understand this.
It is a huge deal which is why the NFL Network has a show devoted to this which gets great ratings.
Only shut-ins seem to not understand.

Thanks for bringing up last year’s schedule. That was brutual for a lot of reasons.
As you indicated they were very good teams in addition we were going through a new defense…2nd year QB with only one truly great target…an RB who was OK when healthy who bombed out on drugs.
I think it was Luv but the two of us felt if we could just get through the first half only one game under .500 we’d be in good shape. Our team was improving and growing in experience….we just didn’t close the show. I think I hate the Dallas game worst of all because I hate the Cowgirls anyway and we were leading that game on the road in the 4th Q. That game still is in my crawl.

If Sweezy returns to his form, we are instantly better at Running Back, not to mention what DeShawn Jackson will do.
These 2 players have upgraded our RB position, just by being on the field.
