“No Weakness”
March 21st, 2017If the Bucs are going to draft a running back early, a former NFL lineman and current talking head said the choice is a no-brainer.
Brian Baldinger, analyst for NFL Network, insists one running back stands apart from the rest after watching loads of college tape of the deep RB class in next month’s draft.
His name is Dalvin Cook.
Per Baldinger, Cook has zero drawbacks as a runner.
@BaldyNFL: I just watched all 321 @dalvincook touches from 2016. He has no weakness..the best feet, the best moves, the best vision, and with power!!!
Two things about Cook caught Joe’s eyes. One, Cook’s pass-catching ability makes him an every-down player. Second, in his biggest games, Cook had some of his best games. That tells Joe he answers the bell.
Now the question is, will Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht ring that bell next month?
And how cool is it that Cook said his “dream come true” is to play for the Bucs and be reunited with America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston? When is the last time a stud player in the draft wanted to play for the Bucs?
March 21st, 2017 at 9:34 am
The answer to your question, Jameis. He wanted to play for the Bucs.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:34 am
blew draft picks on a kicker last year…throwing away more mid-round picks to trade up for a fumbler is heading down a bad path…squandering picks year after year leads to disaster…Bucs are the model for that..
March 21st, 2017 at 9:35 am
Last time a stud player in the draft wanted to play for the Bucs was VHIII … and we got him.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:35 am
Similar to Marshal Faulk to me. He would make this offense scary.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:36 am

LOL. Don’t you have some vegetables to cook?
March 21st, 2017 at 9:36 am
Id love to see him in Red and Pewter!
March 21st, 2017 at 9:40 am
Trade this year 1 and 2 and next years 1 and 4 and Nick Folk for Dalvin. We have to get our guy!
March 21st, 2017 at 9:42 am
I’ll say this, if every scout and talking head thinks that Dalvin is the best back, then that supports my assertion that there’s no way he makes it out of the top 10.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:43 am
That’s because he would have been a top overall draft which brings extra $$$. If the Dolphins or Jags had No. 1 pick he would have said those teams as well.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:51 am
Miko, You need to go root for the Falcons or one of our other NFC South teams, with your kind of optimism working for one of them it would truly be a boon for the Bucs.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:55 am
Not the real gilHealy interesting scenario but how about make that Aguayo instead of Folk?
March 21st, 2017 at 10:00 am
Hope this happens but we will have to trade up for his services
March 21st, 2017 at 10:00 am
The Bucs (and I’m sure they are) will give serious consideration to Dalvin Cook.
True, he does have fumbles in his past, but HE IS ALSO A GAME CHANGER. Unlike their current set of back, Cook can bust one at any time and he is a great pass catcher out of the backfield. I would give up a 1 and a 2 to move up.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:01 am
Miko you don’t know nothing about football, all we have on every player in the draft is highlights. The combine don’t mean nothing. Look at his highlights the way he run’s hard and hard to bring down. We need to do what ever it takes to get him. I have a JW jersey and next I will get a Cook one.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:03 am
Cook did better on holding the ball 2016, look how many times he carries the ball and look at how hard he run.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:03 am
Baldy is also on sports radio in Philly every morning and has been the loudest supporter of the Eagles grabbing Cook if he is available when their pick shows up before the bucs
March 21st, 2017 at 10:07 am
I’m the real gilhealy, and I would love this pick.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:07 am
I believe the Eagles are going for a Ross or a cornerback
March 21st, 2017 at 10:11 am
The bucs depth isn’t great. However, starters wise , they are a few players away from being a serious playoff team. So you got to make those few players count. You need a stud running back so if you have to move up a few spots, then you do it. I’m sure dalvin would have to fall to a certain pick range for bucs to pounce. Licht and evaluators understand value well. Again, they needs studs. They need starters… guys who can come in right away and produce. That would be dalvin cook. If that got 2 or 3 studs/ starters in this years draft, then look out
March 21st, 2017 at 10:16 am
People are gullable. Every draft prospect say the would love to play for whatever team’s media is asking the question. I guarantee cook said he would love playing in jacksonville in order to play with ramsey, smith, and the fsu wr they have. I bet he would say he would love to play for giants in the media mecca of the world. Lets not over think this.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:25 am
Bird you know your football, but Webster you are lost. Webster you said would want to play other places, but he didn’t say that, he said he wants to play with TB, knowing that they have the 19th pick. I think that is a player we need, someone wheeling to give up millions to go with his heart.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:31 am
he’s starting to become the guy constantly linked to the bucs just like mike was just like jameis and vhiii last year there’s a pattern here people dalvin cook on this offense will put us back up in the top 5 offenses in the league
March 21st, 2017 at 10:34 am
Jonzey, please shut up. All you do on these forums is nut hug Dalvin, and say “you know your football” and “you don’t know football.
Give it a rest will ya?
March 21st, 2017 at 10:35 am
“When is the last time a stud player in the draft wanted to play for the Bucs?”
Um – Vernon Hargreaves III – just last year. He even had “Tampa” written on his shoes at his pro day. Jameis Winston the year before…
Your memories are failing you Joe.
Cook would be the perfect pick for the Bucs – alas, he will be long gone by the time pick #19 rolls around. I’m certainly not on board with trading a day 2 pick to go get him either. Especially when McCaffrey will likely be sitting there at 19.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:35 am
I would classify 14 fumbles as a pretty huge weakness.
And some of those came in the clutchest of clutch moments.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:36 am
BucNation, there have been an incredibly wide range of players mocked to the bucs so far. I’ve seen just as many Mocks of us taking Njoku as I have Cook.
Where as Mike and Jameis were the guys for us from start to finish.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:38 am
What about character flaws?
March 21st, 2017 at 10:40 am
I say if Cook can be had then get him. I would also not mind getting Marlon Mack in camp to compete if he is still available in the 7th round or goes undrafted. I have been really busy and have not been able to see projected draft rounds, so I am not sure what has been projected for Mack.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:43 am
Damn I’m sick of the Cook stories… ONLY because IF he’s that good, he won’t be available when we pick. Fu¢k no on a trade up for him… Really?
March 21st, 2017 at 10:43 am
For the reasons discussed, there’s no way he falls to #19. While he may be a talent, there’s no sense in mortgaging the future when there is talent everywhere in this draft and the team has needs beyond RB.
Conversely, if he’s there at #19, well that’s a no-brainer! Go get ’em!
March 21st, 2017 at 10:45 am
@Supersam lol right. There’s no video though
March 21st, 2017 at 10:52 am
Doesn’t he have an above average fumble rate? That’s a weakness… no?
March 21st, 2017 at 10:54 am
Blake you don’t know s–t you always talk down on these players and you don’t have a clue. I just look at the best fit for our team and I see Cook being that guy. We need a runningback that can help our line out by breaking some tackles, and taking it to the house. Look at the above article, who are they talking about. Who did Earnest Byner say was his 1st runningback, and he gave the other runningback’s credit. This is a former NFL runningback with (2) superbowl rings and a runningback coach of the NFL.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:58 am
Easier to fin a good RB in the later rounds or a DE, WR, ST, CB? The answer is RB. I’d like the Bucs to find their RB of the future in the 2nd or 3rd round. Cook fumbles too much and Schiano to teach him how to hold the ball correctly. He’d be a fun pick at 19. He would add a lot of juice for 6 weeks or so before his shoulder gives out. Fumbles and Shoulder scare me a lot here.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:07 am
In all seriousness I like Cook. I think he would add another demension. I’m just not for trading up. I’d rather DE with the first. But damn if it’s
Cook
Barnett
Davis
Howard
….. Who do you pick?
Just give a player who hates to lose!!!
March 21st, 2017 at 11:10 am
Cook will be gone by 19 and it is not a good move to move up in draft to get him.(1 to 2 spots ok) Because this is a good draft to get a good RB up to the 4th RD.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:11 am
Here’s the bottom line: how long do you want Winston to be the QB for the Bucs? 10-15 years? How long is the average life expectancy of an NFL running back, 4-5 years?
Build a team, and offense in particular, that can continue to survive without a high draft pick/high dollar running back. I’m not saying Cook isn’t an excellent running back, he certainly is, but of the playoff teams last year only one had a 1st round pick RB. The rest were all lower round picks.
I’m not going to be able to sway the crowd that wants Cook, I know that. If you want sustainable success in today’s game you can’t build the offense around a running back.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:12 am
Is this really even still a debate??? And for all you he’ll be gone early folks we’ll see exactly how much pull Fameis has come draft night. He wanted Jackpot and Licht signed Jackpot. Sitting at 19 don’t mean anything. Let me say it again. I’M TAKING ALL BETS..
March 21st, 2017 at 11:13 am
See alot of y’all talk this and talk that. But won’t put no cash up. Cowardice.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:15 am
Talking that weak @$$ mccaffery s@$..
March 21st, 2017 at 11:17 am
And mind you if you put some cash up I wanna meet up in Tampa draft night.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:17 am
@NOSBOS- It’s not that I don’t WANT to bet, I’m just broke bro!!!! Mouths to feed, know what I mean?!
I’m in the “he’s not there at 19” camp, not in the DON’T draft him camp anyways. That’s not a fair enough gamble in my eyes.
Now, if you want to give me some of your money, well…….I heard you were making it rain on Dale Mabry!!!!
March 21st, 2017 at 11:18 am
Another Cook article…ugh
Hoping he’s drafted well ahead of us to make this a non issue.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:19 am
Stud NFL running backs are typically built by the NFL system around them, not the other way around. The guys that are now considered stud NFL running backs for the most part weren’t the stud college running backs coming out. They were hand picked mid round picks that fit the roster that they were chosen for.
It’s not a hard concept.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:24 am
@ Nole
Your dedication to one guy is admirable and I get a kick out of watching you defend him, but you need to start opening yourself up to other options. I know you love you some Dalvin Cook. I think everybody is well aware of that by now.
Who are some other guys in this draft that you like?
March 21st, 2017 at 11:29 am
I think the only way the Bucs don’t pick Cook is if thy have to give up way too much to go get him.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:32 am
I got a feeling cook will be there at 19. Draft Cook sign AP and re-sign Martin.
Cook
AP
Martin
Rodgers
How bow dat?!?
March 21st, 2017 at 11:35 am
@NosBos I’m telling you right now, when I win my money come draft night, you can pay me through PayPal or Square Cash Homie.
And Jonzey I don’t talk down on every player. I dont want to trade up for Cook cause that would be super dumb, and I don’t want John Ross because he is glass Joe with brittle ligaments, and I don’t want Cam Robinson because he is slow footed and looks like a guard.
Other than that you won’t catch me talki ish bout any player.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:50 am
I’m afraid he will be gone by the time we pick.
If he stays injury free I am very confident he will have at least 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving as a rookie.
We have arguably the worst group of running backs in the NFL so it makes sense to get an elite one and then possibly another later in the draft
March 21st, 2017 at 11:59 am
Trade back; not up !
March 21st, 2017 at 12:12 pm
imo –
Cook/Howard/Davis/Taco/Barnett or trade back
March 21st, 2017 at 12:33 pm
If the Bucs package their second-round pick to move up to draft Cook, does the curse of the second-round pick follow him?
March 21st, 2017 at 12:44 pm
@ jonzy
You are the list one. He said he would love to play for the bucs because jbf asked the question ie tampa media. If he was asked the same question by the jacksonville, or new york media, he would say the same thing clueless one. Why? Because they are schooled to answer that way because they are on a 4 month job interview clueless one.
March 21st, 2017 at 12:45 pm
NoSBoS,
Idk what we’re gonna do in the draft, but bcuz noone else will man up and take a bet with u, I’ll bet u $50 that we don’tdraft Dalvin.
I like u alot bro, but I don’t like dalvin’s ball security struggles.
And I’m proven to pay my bets…
March 21st, 2017 at 12:47 pm
ITA Steve from Oregon
March 21st, 2017 at 12:51 pm
I meant jonzy you are the lost one
March 21st, 2017 at 1:02 pm
@nole….BS….last year I bet you VHG would be a bucs and you said he wouldn’t….you also said he wouldn’t go first round…..LOL….
screw cook…..this draft is deep with rb’s….I say trade down a few spots and pick up and extra 3rd round pick….
1st-jarrad davis-lb
2nd-zay jones-wr
3rd-donte foreman-rb
3rd-marlon mack-rb
4th-dalvin Tomlinson-dt
5th-rayshwn Jenkins-s
6th-jeremy sprinkle-te
7th-BPA
….GO BUCS!!!!
March 21st, 2017 at 1:17 pm
Did someone just suggest trading FOUR picks to get Dalvin Cook?
Man, some of you are truly nuts. If he’s there at 19, fine. But we sure as s(p)it don’t need to trade away multiple draft picks to get a RB.
March 21st, 2017 at 1:18 pm
When Dalvin Cook fumbles 14 times next year a lot of y’all are gonna be saying either ” Aargh why did we move up to get this hair grease on the hands mofo???” Or some might be saying “Man o man I’m glad he went at #10!” Fumblitis is a bad disease to have coming out of college.😉
March 21st, 2017 at 1:32 pm
813bucboi – I like Davis but I can’t see the Bucs taking him in the first. It would potentially give us the best LB trio in the NFL though. I don’t like the picks at RB either I would rather Mixon I wouldn’t be upset with Foreman but Mixon is the better pick. I don’t think Mack makes a good NFL RB based on his time at USF, he never showed the ability to run up the middle. I would rather take a S or TE with that extra third round pick and address CB or OLB in one of those later rounds
March 21st, 2017 at 1:35 pm
we will see draft day
March 21st, 2017 at 1:46 pm
I wouldn’t make too much of Cook’s fumbling issue, although it is an issue to consider. Foreman, Fournette, and Marlon Mack all had worse fumbling rates in 2016 than Cook. (%’s : 2.12, 2.08, 1.98, Cook 1.87)
A few other notables:
Kamara 1.40
McCaffrey 1.03
Perine .97
Mixon .89
Pumphrey .53
Hunt 0.0
March 21st, 2017 at 1:55 pm
Don’t know where you got your info Bill. But it aint right.
https://www.google.com/amp/www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2017-nfl-draft-which-running-backs-raise-red-flags-as-potential-fumblers/amp/
Also just noticed that Marlon Mack had an abysmall fumble rate… Guess another guy just went off my list.
March 21st, 2017 at 2:48 pm
Blake, the numbers in your link are career numbers …. Bill said 2016 only. Both could be correct.
March 21st, 2017 at 2:56 pm
E that’s a bet bro. 813 why exactly didn’t you take the bet then. I posted my number bro.
March 21st, 2017 at 2:58 pm
All you lames talking bout fumbles. I don’t a single one costing a game outside of that rigged affair in pasedena when the whole team fumbled five times. When was the last time you saw that.
March 21st, 2017 at 3:01 pm
So that’s $150 w/Blake $50 w/Erik a name change bet w/Trubucfan22 and a jersey bet with webster..
March 21st, 2017 at 3:03 pm
Oh and lastly 813 screw yo whack @$$ gaytors. We gone drag y’all @$$ yet again next season.
March 21st, 2017 at 3:04 pm
DavidBigBucsFan99…in the past 2 years Cook’s fumbled the ball 7 times. That’s like 3.5 fumbles per season in college. Can’t see why he’s going to fumble 14 times in one season.
Can you help me out?
March 21st, 2017 at 3:05 pm
Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:
“Oh and lastly 813 screw yo whack @$$ gaytors. We gone drag y’all @$$ yet again next season.”
I 2nd that. Go Noles!
Baby!
March 21st, 2017 at 3:08 pm
And webster I doubt that highly. Y’all don’t seem to get the power of Fameis WINSton. His name grows thru out nfl circles by the day. The combination of hard work, leadership and humility make cats wanna play for him dude. Ain’t nobody in no rush to go play behind Blake Bortles or whoever the h3ll is QBing in gotham. Man please. Just man said what he felt. My dream is to play with Jameis. Sorta like 813 When VH33 said “we need him he special”. That one had to make you cringe didn’t. 😊I LOVE IT dude.
March 21st, 2017 at 3:11 pm
“No Weakness”.. Yep that about sums it up. Good work there Baldy. mm hmm.
March 21st, 2017 at 3:13 pm
D@$! how many times does that man have to say the best in one sentence..
March 21st, 2017 at 3:30 pm
BucNation not sure why you think Cook is being projected to the Bucs! I would say around 1 in 20 mocks have him coming here. As of this week the guy popping up a lot is the TE out of Miami. That being said, I would say the mocks suggest there are a good 10 or more players that could end up in Tampa. I would say there is no clear front runner at this point.
March 21st, 2017 at 3:43 pm
Wait so Nos, let me get this straight, are all the games rigged? Or just the ones that dont end the way you want?
Cause if every game is rigged, then why even watch or care?
March 21st, 2017 at 4:06 pm
Fumble problems can be fixed so that isn’t too big of a concern for me.
Idk Cook personally so I can’t really speak about his character concerns with any facts but it is something he will have to explain to teams.
Of the 3 negatives against him, the shoulder injuries is what I am most concerned with. I understand he didn’t miss many games at all because of them, but he had 3 surgeries which means he re-injured his shoulder twice. If the doctors check him out and he is healthy then great. If they find something in there that leads them to believe he is susceptible to re-injuring it again then that is a problem. That also applies to John Ross as well.
BUT
If the the injured shoulder is what is causing the fumbles, that is a deal breaker for me.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:08 pm
What fumbles?
March 21st, 2017 at 4:13 pm
One fumble every 64 touches there 87.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:22 pm
I tell you one thing I don’t know who were going to pick but it’s going to be fun either way. We have some strong opinions on this board and some crazy talk. But one thing I don’t get is Blake you daily rip Cook for being a to straight up runner, or a fumbler, or bad shoulders, or he can break tackles but then you turn around and said he’s a top 10 player. Which is it cause players with all those issues don’t go in the top 10?
March 21st, 2017 at 4:30 pm
Because I realize I’m in the minority. And everytime I turn around another scout or talking head comes out and says he’s the best Rb in the draft.
Throw that in with the wild success of Zeke, and the NFL being the copy cat league, and it leads me to believe he’ll go in the top 10 picks.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:44 pm
Blake that’s throughout his time at FSU.
Yeah he fumbled quite a bit during his first season…then they pretty much disappeared. I don’t think he’ll have a fumbling problem, certainly less than Martin had early on in his career…. Schiano almost killed him. I think Cook’s got it under control now. For the most part.
I’m not taking anyone’s sides when it comes to Cook. I’m on the if they draft him then great bus. Either way a great player is being installed into this team in about a month. Like I said if it’s Cook, it’s Cook. Great player.
Remember there ain’t NO Nole bias in me. I’m all about the Bucs and what I think is best for them, even though I have no say so, like the rest of you. I don’t need durability in Cook, not over the long term anyways. I know it may sound like I’m talking about cattle, but he’ll get us where we want to go before he wears out.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:48 pm
Say it again Baldy “No Weakness”. Seems to me your aspirations for being a Pro level evaluators take hits every week Blake.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:50 pm
Fake @$$ Ted Thompson.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:56 pm
People loved Trent Richardson and Phillip Dorsett too. Just saying.
Also, Baldy would love nothing more than for the Eagles to draft him.
March 21st, 2017 at 4:57 pm
So why dont you take your tinfoil hat wearing self somewhere.
March 21st, 2017 at 5:06 pm
NosBos or maybe we just dont want to bet with a stranger on a website
March 21st, 2017 at 5:16 pm
So this is interesting. Jenna Laine had a post on ESPN that stated Cook had 16 fumbles. Lance Zierlien’s Draft Profile on Cook says he had 13 fumbles. That 1 fumble per 63.8 touches stat equates to 12 fumbles. I just went back and looked through all his game logs and counted 11 fumbles lol. 4 different numbers.
Using that CBSSports method here are his fumbles/touch each year from what I counted….
2014: 1 fumble every 48 touches (192 touches, 4 fumbles)
2015: 1 fumble every 253 touches (253 touches, 1 fumble)
2016: 1 fumble every 53.5 touches (321 touches, 6 fumbles)
2014 and 2016 he had a larger issue with fumbles than in 2015. Coincidentally, those are the 2 years he had shoulder surgeries before the season. It is fair to say that if he continues to have shoulder problems then it could hurt his ball security. That is a red flag to me.
March 21st, 2017 at 6:13 pm
Don’t matter what baldy wants dude. Fameis calls the shots homie.
March 21st, 2017 at 6:37 pm
Can he pick up a blitzing LB?
March 21st, 2017 at 6:53 pm
Lol, as much as I love Jameis, I pray to god that a Gm/ talent evaluator with as much experience as Jason Licht has isn’t going his 23 year old QB be in charge of the draft.
March 21st, 2017 at 6:54 pm
*going to let*
March 21st, 2017 at 7:03 pm
Blake he was recruiting Jackpot since he came into the league. Jackpot is a Buc now bro. Fameis has waaayyy more pull in that organization than people realize.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:08 pm
Big difference between free agency and the draft.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:08 pm
The red flag is those totals upon further review you can clearly see were exaggerated. But like I told you earlier today our perception of reality is different.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:09 pm
Nahh if you want a guy you go the guy. No real difference.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:11 pm
Good work on the research Joey, the Bucs need to make sure they get a better physical evaluation than we got on Sweezy.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:12 pm
Also Blake baldy campaigning on the radio means very little bro. Tell me when he has bought the team or is General Managing for the eagles. Until then well.. You know.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:12 pm
Jameis wasn’t the deciding factor in D-Jax’s decision, $11 million a year was lol. Sure Jameis reaching out to him probably helped, but it isn’t like he would’ve taken less money to play with him.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:14 pm
Ya see Blake the only people I notice claiming”long gone” are folks here on jbf. Everyone else seems to feel like he’ll be right there bro.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:15 pm
Pop you don’t think other teams couldn’t have pony’d up 11million bro??? Really..
March 21st, 2017 at 7:17 pm
See Blake altho he is ulra talented just like baldy stated. Not everyone sees an ultra talented RB as they’re biggest draft night need homie. The eagles lost both starting CBs from last season. And like other teams could use a young DE to replace Barwin bro.

They could have, but they didn’t. We offered him the most money and he took it. Now if he had a bunch of offers that were the same amount of money, THEN all the credit goes to Jameis for recruiting, but cash is king for most players.

Well Charlie Casserly, who has actual experience as a Gm mocked Dalvin to the Jets at number 6, post combine.
March 21st, 2017 at 7:24 pm
Bro you will come up with anything to convince yourself that Dalvin is coming to Tampa. But it aint happening.
I learned the other day on the Ira podcast that Jason Licht made it a point to mention how deep he viewed the Rb class of 2017. Repeatedly.
Sounds to me like a guy that… well how did you put it? “doesnt see an ultra talented talented RB as they’re biggest draft need.”

Let me guess, that’s a smoke screen.

And yea, I think Philly will end up going defense at #14. Like I said on a post last week. There are 3 ways draft night can go for Cook.
1) Jags take him at #4. They stocked up on defense in FA and need to do what they can to get Bortles help to try and fix him.
2) Jags take Fournette at #4 and Panthers grab Cook at #8. They rely heavily on the run game and need to find Stewart’s replacement.
3) He falls.
Looking at teams ahead of us that could take him:
Cleveland at #12 just put a 2nd round tender on Crowell so they want to keep him.
Philly at #14 has bigger needs on defense.
Colts at #15 could take him to replace Gore, but their defense is also a disaster.
Ravens at #16 just added Woodhead who is one of the better receiving backs in the league which is 1 of Cook’s strengths, so I think if they do draft a RB at all it will be in the mold of Fournette and Perine
Redskins at #17 is interesting. Rob Kelley came on strong for them last season, but he isn’t a game changer so I could see them drafting Cook. Their run defense was bad last year and they just lost their best DL to us in Baker. I think they address DL before drafting a RB.
If Cook makes it out of the top 10 I could see him falling to #19

I will say this tho. They talked with Marlon Mack at the combine multiple times as Joe wrote about a couple weeks ago. They have private workouts scheduled with Kareem Hunt and Brian Hill. All consensus Day 2 maybe Day 3 guys. If Cook does fall to #19 he will most likely be the pick, but I would say the fact that they are showing interest in these guys rules out the idea of trading up in the draft.

Ravens also have to replace two starters from they’re o line last season. Couglin taking a Big back makes more sense to me considering that is what he had the last time he won the Bif game and He made statements about wanting to make his team tougher. Cleve needs to find a QB and Rivera is a defensive guy that watched his defense crumble last season. He did make the statement about drafting an RB to ease the load on cam but with the way those young CBs performed last season along with the departure of Ealy and Klein I don’t think its written in stone them going RB in the first like most are mocking them. I mean Blake has told us all summer long this class is deep at RB..

Spoke to Daniel Lasco quite a bit last year also Pop.
March 21st, 2017 at 8:36 pm
What’s your point?
March 21st, 2017 at 8:52 pm
How many more days until the muther effin draft?
March 21st, 2017 at 8:59 pm
5 more mondays 87.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:43 pm
My point is just because they speak to a particular player often don’t necessarily mean they will draft him. Lasco was the RB from cal they spoke to a number of occasions as well bro. But didn’t end up drafting him.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:48 pm
Daniel Lasco was a 7th round pick, they were most likely trying to bring him as an undrafted free agent.
They also spoke a lot with Donovan smith in 2015…

An let me add jax just signed Ivory to a Big deal last season. I don’t see Coughlin going that route because he’s old school. Them onery older heads not inclined to change they’re ways. Ivory didn’t perform all that well last season but DC doesn’t necessarily fit under the “making your team tougher”category either. Ivory is a scat type RB why go an draft another if you wanna become more physical??? That’s just me tho. I fully expect Coughlin to draft Foreman in round two.

TD!!!!!! No Fumble.

Umm sure they speak a lot with many potentials much like every other team the league does. Don’t mean squat in les your name is called tho now does it.
March 21st, 2017 at 9:55 pm
Great question Joe. I believe it was Roberto Aguayo
March 21st, 2017 at 10:09 pm
Bro do you even know who Chris Ivory is? Have you ever seen him play?
Chris Ivory is a power back that had an awful season last year.
Also idk what it is that makes you think Coughlin only wants big backs. He had Tiki Barber for a number of years, he signed Rashad Jennings, and Shane Vereen.
Just because you don’t want them to draft Cook, doesn’t mean they wont.
March 21st, 2017 at 10:44 pm
Oh I’m not worried at all about him doing that. I thought I told you we already place dibs on DC seeing as he’s a local kid. Pay attention son. I gotta tho, some of us work for a living. Gotta finish out this worknight. And oh btw the cats just may take a QB early. Cam gotta have shoulder surgery suppose to miss OTAs. Guess all them hits starting to take they’re toll. Night night Blake.
March 21st, 2017 at 11:11 pm
Uhhhhhhhi dont know if you this, you probably don’t, but Tallahassee is much closer to Jacksonville than it is to Tampa. Also, your theory is nonsense and insane.
And the panthers will not take a Qb. Dalvin will not be a Buccaneer. You are gonna be down almost 400 come draft night.

It means that they have options. It isn’t “Dalvin Cook or bust” to them. If he doesn’t fall to #19 they have multiple backup plans, which they should have for every position.

Blake, my numbers are correct. As was pointed out my another poster, they are just 2016 figures. The differences you see between some sources are a result of not considering fumbles on receptions. Some lazy people look only at rushing numbers, but I figure fumbles on receptions are just as important.
