Bucs Tickets Get More Expensive
February 19th, 2017The Bucs life just got more expensive for most of the average Joes heading to the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway in 2017.
Per the Tampa Bay Times, Team Glazer has approved a modest ticket-price jump in many sections.
Here’s how the Times broke down cost increases for the working class. No, as a collective body, Joe doesn’t consider club-seat holders and suite owners in that group.
UPPER LEVEL: More than half the sections have price increases of $50, a hike of as much as 12 percent. Prices in 12 sections have stayed the same.
LOWER LEVEL: All prices have increased, with most season passes going up $50. Of 48 sections, 36 have price increases of $50 (a hike as low as 7 percent), 12 of $100 and two of $200, which is an increase of more than 20 percent.
Translation: most fans experiencing an increase will pay an additional $5.00 per game.
This is what happens when your team goes 9-7 with a franchise quarterback and has a 2017 home schedule loaded with big-name, big-market teams, including the Patriots, Giants and Jets.
Bucs tickets remain one of the least expensive in the NFL. The cheapest season ticket is $450 (8 regular season, two preseason) and the Bucs offer an interest-free monthly payment option.

So with record breaking revenue #’s overseas with Man U, the Bucs barely squeak out a winning season by 2 games, the first in several years, and THIS is what Bucs fans get? Way to win over the fans glazer boys, BRAVO. Hey, know what will make this all of us feel like were back in the 2011 twilight zone? Have Licht sit on his ass in free agency, or give us “value” signings when their are some legit difference makers about to hit the market. Thanks for the great start to my sunday.
February 19th, 2017 at 12:22 pm
Free agency isn’t like the draft. Money talks, but FAs still have to want to come here. If we don’t get the top guys, Licht will spin it that we weren’t going after them. It’s all about public perception. Doesn’t mean we didn’t try.

I have six seats. Four are in the Lower Bowl on the 30…very sweet. And they have just gone up to $125 per game ($1250 per season). Two years ago they were $99; last year I believe they were $115 per game ($1150 per season). But that’s a fair price frankly for great seats at an NFL game. Plus I get a discount on concessions. Yes, those are expensive compared to your local fast food place, but there’s a markup because it’s all by charity, it is the NFL, it’s in line with theaters, other sports, airports, etc, and this isn’t Wal-Mart, folks. I get plenty of free stuff from the Bucs, so I call it all being a fan in the end, and we all have what we do to spend. To some, it’s worth it, to others it’s not. It’s anyone’s own opinion and that’s fine if it’s too much for you. I wished the Bucs didn’t raise prices, but cost of living goes up too, about 3.7% a year, and they didn’t hit us for eight years. So to me, it’s a wash. Still, I get it. I’m glad I’m not sitting in Iowa or NM, or UT or somewhere with no team around. Now, those who constantly alledge greed of the owners (some of the biggest charity providers around) when you’ve never been to a game, or haven’t in years, it is just you being stupid. And the Man-U thing. Stupid too…total BS now, always was. Hey, opening day/premium days on the first base line lower seats (general seating, not fieldside or anything like that) for the Rays is $175. To me, that’s not worth it, but I’ll still pay now and then, and I don’t gripe about being ripped off, Rays owners being dishonest, the rich, etc. Most people don’t.
Just some perspective. Consider this too: People all over Tampa Bay said when the Bucs draft a franchise QB, when they spend in FA, when they get rid of Morris (or Schiano), when they end the Blackouts, when they get new video boards….they’d go to games. The Bucs did all of that (some of you have forgotten already). The folks who blabbered the loudest still didn’t show…though some did. My theory is those who complain most about reason for going to games either don’t like football or many, not all, are hardcore alcoholics and use excuses to stay home and just drink since they don’t want to be spend in public or be enticed to drive drunk. But attendance is pretty good again. The crowds are pretty loud again. The Bucs are getting good again. The staidium is a great facility, with awesome sound and video, and the gameday experience beats anyone’s…and I know this from being all over. Winning games is most important, but now they’re winning, and people are saying…”Well, just by two games”. Just stupid. If you’re not a fan or can’t afford it, no problem. But stop making excuses that don’t hold water, and stop running down the team and owners without valid reasons. If prices up $5 a game is too much for you, you probably can’t afford to go now. And that’s fine.
February 19th, 2017 at 12:49 pm
Well it only cost me about 25 cents worth of Electricity to watch them.
February 19th, 2017 at 12:51 pm
Who wants to sit in the blistering heat??? I can’t stand going to Bucs games because they are either miserably hot, or raining… glazers make mistake after mistake. It’s a wonder we don’t get respect. It’s because the rest of the owners in the NFL see these guys as spoiled brats who really don’t care about the fan base. Ticket prices will rise, jersey sales will increase, especially with one big name free agent signing, but one thing will always remain the same… the most consistent fair weathered fan base in the NFL, and the miserable Florida weather.
February 19th, 2017 at 12:51 pm
Wow Fred, great post. I’m up in PA and I’d kill to be in Tampa to pay whatever to watch the Bucs live. I’m not rich, but I’d be putting in A LOT of OT! Lol
February 19th, 2017 at 1:20 pm
How much longer will Bucs home games be on TV? How much has average Joes paychecks increased in the past year? It is a thin line on affordability.
February 19th, 2017 at 1:50 pm
I will pay the increase with no problem and watch my Bucs win from my AWESOME seats! Business is business.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:24 pm
“If you want to go and take a ride with me
We 3-wheeling in the fo’ with the gold D’s
Oh why do I live this way? (Hey, must be the money!)”
February 19th, 2017 at 2:25 pm
Back in ’76, when I was 10 and was about ALL things Football, my dad bought 4 season Tickets, Second Row, 40 yard line behind the Bucs bench. He held them for 20 years and sold them in ’96. (I have Never let him live that down btw). I wonder what those seats go for now.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:28 pm
Don’t know how many of you Bucs fans had season tickets back in the 2002 SB year, but Glazers raised the season ticket prices 10% a year EVERY YEAR after our SB victory for about 6 or 7 yrs. Yup, back in the days of Chucky. The team went downhill and became mediocre after that SB win, but not the season ticket prices. Glazers just kept charging more. Remember all the bragging about having a waiting list of 100,000 or more at the time? Vanished pretty quickly (if in fact it ever existed in the first place).
Had season tickets through all those years, but finally gave them up last year. Not because of the price, although I’m sure that entered into it someplace. Remember the heat and rain at RayJay in Aug, Sep, Oct? Me too. Remember all the losing at home in RayJay? Me too. Remember becoming 20 yrs older than when you got your first season tickets? Me neither. (StPete would get that one). Now we just buy tickets to individual games when we feel like going. Much easier, and considerably less expensive and cooler it turns out. Still love my Bucs, but frankly not that enamored with the Glazer boys.
And if our average season tickets are less expensive than most, take a look at the records of most of the teams who charge more (like NE) and that might give folks a clue as to why. Or take a look at all the indoor stadiums in the NFL now, and maybe that’ll give folks another clue as to why they charge more.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:30 pm
Hey 87……what does “We 3-wheeling in the fo’ with the gold D’s”
mean exactly.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:32 pm
Only 6 teams in the NFL have lower Ticket prices than we do.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/193595/average-ticket-price-in-the-nfl-by-team/
February 19th, 2017 at 2:34 pm
Frankly I don’t see how it is even Remotely possible for Oakland and LA to have lower prices than us with the cost of living in CA.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:37 pm
SB…ask Nelly.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:40 pm
Nah…….I just wanted to see if you knew since you were quoting them.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:43 pm
The power of Google.
Translate : Nelly Ride Wit Me. “We three-wheelin in the fo’ with the gold D’s ”
Answer : It means he is driving on three wheels (hydraulics) in his ’64 Impala (that is fo’) with gold rims (D’s are Daytons).
February 19th, 2017 at 2:43 pm
Glazers are probably trying to Recoup some of that shiny new tv money.
Plus, they realize that there will be an increase in demand after we hit free agency and the draft out of the park!
The games should be a ton of fun this year. I can’t wait to jam out to House of Pain carrying my Big mothaF@*!n Stick!
February 19th, 2017 at 2:43 pm
I have a feeling the Glazer Boys have something they are hiding from the public to hike these prices.I.E. they have their eyes on certain players that are free agents which they plan on bringing in like A.P.,Mario Williams,….ANTONIO BROWN?and apart from that are probably gonna put in a show in the 1 &2nd rounds of the draft.why else would the prices increases if their aren’t big names to come see?
February 19th, 2017 at 2:44 pm
Dang, 87 droppin some knowledge.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:45 pm
LOL Blake……He is actually dropping some Google.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:46 pm
Thank you tho 87. I always wondered.
February 19th, 2017 at 2:48 pm
SB, yea, me too!
February 19th, 2017 at 3:02 pm
87😁everytime you drop something you make me smile. And 941 hopefully not mario, many here clamored for his services but he got paid and pack it inn. We gotta go after guys that showed an undying love for competition. I since Calais fits the build.
February 19th, 2017 at 3:07 pm
I think this is a season too soon. They still have to prove they are going to continue to win.
February 19th, 2017 at 3:14 pm
We paid for the stadium, we paid for the up grades, we paid more for tickets, we get a free publix magnet and we win 4 games per year. Sounds legit.
February 19th, 2017 at 3:16 pm
DB, lol!
February 19th, 2017 at 3:18 pm
941, offense sells tickets, defense wins championships. It’s like the bowling saying…. strike for show, spare for dough.
February 19th, 2017 at 3:23 pm
I was never a serious bowler Eric but in Golf we have a similar saying
Drive for show, Putt for dough!!
February 19th, 2017 at 3:25 pm
BuccaneEric75…it’s an awesome time Oct through Dec. For sure, you really need to try to get to a game as part of another visit. Yup, it rains at times in August and September…in Forida. But I haven’t seen freezing rain, or snow, or sleet, or frozen fog since…..NEVER….that the other teams have for the last three months. The northerner transplants have every right to talk, but they just bitch, bitch, bitch about everything when they get here. Having visited DET, PIT, ATL, HOU, ARI…none of them touch the gameday experience of the Bucs. This year, it’s off to GB, MIN or BUF.
SB…those tickets would be $1250 these days, or $125 per game. Probably more than three times what your dad paid 20-40 years ago. But there are no deposits, no contracts now.

How’s this for an offensive overhaul scenario. Say we end up with Djax or Stills in free agency.
We stand pat at 19, all the top pass catchers including O.J. Howard are gone. Dalvin cook and Fournette are gone.
If we were to somehow Draft Christian McCaffrey in the 1st, and Curtis Samuel in the 2nd, that would give us 2 Rb/Wr hybrids. With ridiculous speed & play-making ability between the 2 of them.
Taking those 2 guys, plus Djax and whatever Defensive guys we grab in free agency, would free us up to Draft an athletic development corner/ safety in round 3. And the freedom to draft Oline and Dline Depth for the rest of the draft.
Tell me that wouldn’t be sick.

Who wants to sit in the blistering heat?
—————————————————————————————-What a loser. All this complaining but these are probably the same people who said they couldn’t be fans because the home games weren’t on TV. Bullsp!t!! Get off your fat arse and go to the game. Then watch the away games at home. Give me a break, it’s 8 days a year!! Not talking to anybody who can’t afford it so quit that argument. Plenty who can afford it. Want to know why the rest of the country thinks the Bucs are a joke? Because fans who think its better to stay home are stupid and don’t deserve a NFL team.
February 19th, 2017 at 4:28 pm
That was well said TampaTown and true for the most part. I will add on to that with the fact that I now reside at 7,000 feet after growing up on St Pete Bch at 12 ft above sea level. IF I were able to watch a game in a stadium up here it would prolly be -0 every game after Nov. I lived in Stuebenville OH back in 95 and 96 and went to Every Steelers game cause my Pop in Law was a Manager at this huge Factory and got about 20 tix a week given to him. It was constantly low 10s with the humid air coming off the Rivers. NASTY weather. I used to Wish I was back in Tampa where it was 90 degrees! Perspective is a Mother Joker sometimes!
February 19th, 2017 at 4:39 pm
SB, what happened to the “w/Jameis” ending to your name? Banned again?! Lol!
February 19th, 2017 at 4:40 pm
SB, and it can’t be -0. It’s just 0. Lol
February 19th, 2017 at 4:51 pm
It would be a struggle for me to afford season tickets ….but the one factor that never changes is the heat. Why in the royal hell they dont consider a closed air conditioned facility or at least a retraactable roof is a mystery. I would love it if they made it a little more enjoyable being the season is in the hottest monthes of the year in one of the hottest and most humid states in the country
February 19th, 2017 at 4:55 pm
BuccaneEric75 Says:
February 19th, 2017 at 4:40 pm
SB, and it can’t be -0. It’s just 0. Lol
……………………………
Um, -0 means “below 0” so No it is not just 0
and I dropped the “with Jameis” just because everyone always responded to me as just SB.
Maybe if we win a SB the Joes will let me have my original screen name back.
February 19th, 2017 at 5:03 pm
“87😁everytime you drop something you make me smile. ”
Mission accomplished.
February 19th, 2017 at 5:08 pm
SB, lol! I know many of your screen names, not sure of the original, though. The first one I remember was G…B…
February 19th, 2017 at 6:32 pm
Price matters not to me…..I have been coming down from NC for years,,,,,scalp tickets and have always paid less than face value.
Hint…..never buy a ticket from someone with a sign that says “I need tickets”
February 19th, 2017 at 6:55 pm
So you going for a new record Joe? my last comment in this thread being moderated for almost 4 hours now lol.
You must be pouring over it in deep thought Joe. Lmao.
February 19th, 2017 at 7:11 pm
Tickets are going to be hard to come by….soon.
February 19th, 2017 at 7:54 pm
87 and Fred Buc nailed it.
It’s called free enterprise folks. It’s America. I’m fortunate to be a member of the Vinoy Club. Major new expansion underway and they tapped us all for an extra 1-3,000 to pay for it. Fortunately the monthly dues only went up $5. IF they could charge more they would..in Sarasota the same club membership is four times as expensive every month and the initial deposit is off the charts. Why? Because that is what the market will bear.
No use to whine about it. If it’s too much the Glazers will readjust but I’m with 87 on this. Better grab tickets while you can!!! The ONLY way Bucs tickets will go down is if the team totally tanks it again..2 or 3 wins for a couple of years…or if we get another GWB style economic collapse which will reduce everybody’s disposable income. Both of those scenarios suck.
OTOH…if ..I should say..when the Bucs become SB contenders prices will continue to rise until the marketplace says enough.
I have only a couple of complaints with the Glazers and ticket prices ain’t one of them. I’m tired of our tax dollars funding that stadium while the Glazers pocket the loot even from USF game parking and concessions. The Bulls at least get to keep their ticket revenue…from OUR PUBLIC stadium!!
The other gripe…the Glazers should lobby the league very hard for nothing but night games until at least November. Florida is ungodly hot and I pity the folks on the East side
February 19th, 2017 at 8:05 pm
If I didn’t have to pay full price for pre-season games, I’d renew.
February 20th, 2017 at 12:08 am
If I could make as much money in Fla as I make in Montana I would probably be a Club seat holder. I am just a masochist like that.
February 20th, 2017 at 12:46 am
Yes Eric, that was my original. I lost it in 2014.
February 20th, 2017 at 10:26 am
UNBELIEVABLE! My seats went up 40% this season. That was quite a hike considering they were starting over with another head coach. Granted they did well this year but the problem I have is that the level of customer service was the worst I have experienced in the 5 years I have been a season ticket holder. Yes, they have added beautiful video boards and banners all around the stadium but the lack of competency at the front gate alone scares me. I have given up going to the concession stands because the food is almost double what is outside the stadium and sometimes they don’t have everything ready during pregame or they run out early in the game. Where is the value in going to the stadium that was worth the 40% increase in my seats? Now they want to increase the price even more? For what!? I feel they need to increase the level of customer service across the entire stadium before they can justify an increase in ticket prices. For those of us not in the top 10% of income earners, also know as the wealthy class, the average family is making less now than families were making 30 years ago. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/jan/13/elizabeth-warren/warren-average-family-bottom-90-percent-made-more-/
Families used to be able to live off of just one income working a 40 hour work week. Now families struggle on two incomes of more than a 40 hour work week. I’m getting by but these ticket increases are making it more and more difficult to be able to continue to come to the stadium and enjoy the game especially when the experience is not that stellar. With these ticket increases I really hop to see an increase in customer service or I may consider discontinuing my season passes.
February 20th, 2017 at 1:02 pm
There is nothing more exciting than attending a live NFL game..up close. For a price of course. I was blessed to attended many in the nice seats both at the ole Sombrerro and at RayJay. (everybody ain’t able). But now since I left Tampa, for..Mo Money and a better lifestyle, I’ll be watching them on my brand new 70 inch deal via Direct TV. I..have a tech Geek amongst my family so he hooks up like 8 games in our family room during Sundays. We put our Bucs though on the big screen. Sadly, everything is going up in price cept your salaries, retirement checks, and Social Security. So YOU..gotta figure out whats Important to YOU..for YOUR survival.
