It seems one BSPN NFL talking head knows what should be Priority No. 1 for Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.
Simply put, said Darren Woodsen of BSPN, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, needs a solid running back to take heat off him.
Joe cannot disagree. But where does one find said running back? The free agent crop seems thin. That means, better find a running back in the draft.

I’m against taking a RB. I mean, if Licht does, I trust him, but I would rather address the DE position in round 1. After that?
They can focus completely on offense for all I care. That’s fair.

Bonzai… I was whining about DE last offseason before the draft.
So much that I said draft a 3 DE’s with the first 3 picks.
This year I’ve been quiet on that front. As I don’t see it as a TOP priority. A priority of course. Just not at the top.
I’m really down to this and of course we still have FA so this could change.

2.RB
3.DL or OL
This is not only my wish list, but what I think they’re are going to do in the draft at this point in the offseason. Wait on FA.

That guy needs to spend less time doing curls and more time reading JBF if he thinks the Bucs are likely to let go of J. Rogers. Crow wouldn’t be a bad pickup in FA and would give us more versatility in the draft. I was on the Cook train but it seems less and less likely he will fall to 19 and the more I look at the 2 and 3 tier RBs in this draft the more I like them. This is definitely a deep class.

I think if the right back is there when we pick at 19, you have to take him. Not saying there’s a zeke elliot in this draft but the cowboys wouldn’t have won ten games without him.

With only 5 DT and 9 DE on the roster I wouldn’t be surprised if they addressed the DT position before DE.

If Cook is there at 19 take him, but if gone, the 19th pick is a stretch for Kamara or McCaffrey so I wouldn’t say just go get pick any running back in the 1st round.
I’m not on board with trading up to get one either, especially if the cost soars and would prefer sit tight for best value in 1st and go best WR / RB in either order in 2nd-3rd.
No Joe Mixon either.

I haven’t even begun to research a wish list of players I want, like some have already done. Looked into Corey Davis a lot and I like. Then again I want a WR.

Get the young QB a solid RB. Hmmm what a noble idea.. See I’m no expert when it comes to this ishh just seen certain scenarios play out before my eyes on more than one occasion. Woody knows h3ll he just watched a young RB help his old team’s new future QB bring the cowboys back to prominence.

WR??? Well lastnight it was brought to jbf’s attention that cleve have informed Pryor that if they can’t reach a deal they won’t franchise him. The minute Licht swoops in and snag him y’all will quickly be off the whole WR in the first thing. Which is ridiculous in less all the other pieces of a prolific offense are in place.

NOSBOS could end up having to change his moniker to Nostradamus if this keeps playing out. We now see some mocks with Dalvin falling to 19.
We clearly need a RB. But I say we need an impact RB…a real difference maker!
NFL teams are now throwing roughly 60% of the time…the Bucs threw 57.5% last year and just 55% in 2015. This is not to suggest that Koetter likes running the ball more than other teams…but he certainly doesn’t throw it more than the rest.
But for discussion sake let’s just go with the round numbers of 60% pass 40% run. That means 40% of the time you’re putting the ball in the hands of your RB!!! Why the helll would we not want an impact player at a position that is going to be used 40% of the time? We have a terrific franchise QB. We have one of the top 5 WR’s in the league…we have a TE who lead the league in TE touchdowns. We have Quizz Rodgers and the Muscle Turtle in the backfield as of today.
Like NOSBOS I want Dalvin because he can do it all…except perhaps block. Great runner with terrific speed and he can catch the ball.
If he fell far enough I’d even be willing to give up a third to move up and take him. We need more than just a RB…yes there are plenty of “servicable” RB’s in this draft..but no difference makers unless you believe that McCaffery is large enough to withstand the beating…and I concede that is a real possibility.
If we find an irresistible choice at 19 and have to wait on a back then perhaps the Foreman kid would make a nice pick…giant kid…best blocker of all the RB’s and perhaps could make a nice tandem with Quizz.
40% of the snaps people! Do we want an adequate player in that position or do we want an impact player?

Or they can go RB in the first and draft this guy in the 2nd if he’s still around. Imagine having TWO Mike Evans? Not saying he’s Mike, but he reminds me of him a little.

We are definitely keeping Rodgers and seems mostly likely that we draft a RB. That’ll give us four RBs.

See now I can at least be partial to that 87 either or they can be flip. But this notion we can merely wait to the later rounds that sounds peculier to me. What is the later rounds 4th 5th maybe??? Yes they’re have been great backs that have come from later rounds but when my team is in need of RB I’m rolling my dice what appears to be surest thing.

What about Isaiah Crowell, just turned 24, never missed a game, and he actually gets in the end zone and has done it on a horrible team. I know he’s restricted free agent but no news yet on him out of Cleveland. Would love a big bodied back like him. Would compliment Simms and Rodgers very well.

Who’ll have a bigger impact on this season’s win-loss record, a RB or WR or DT/DE? Or maybe a TE or a Safety? Bucs have priority needs at each one of those positions. Personal answer is … ask me again AFTER free agency plays out. If we’re able to pick up say Desean Jackson to fill our #2 WR need, and say Tony Jefferson to fill our Safety need, and say Calais Campbell to fill our DE need, then voila, we’ve narrowed our ‘needs’ significantly. Then we could certainly use our #19 pick on either a RB (Cook IF he’s there?) or a TE (Howard IF he’s there?). Come on Jason, we need you to work some magic during free agency.

Defense that’s a easy answer if you ask. My guy easily at a minimum 1500 combined yards rookie season. I’ll say modestly 1200 rushing and 300 receiving. I’ll go 8 TDs.

There will be plenty of RBs available in rounds 3-5. Not worried about RB. WR, DL, TE, S is more of a concern.

I keep hearing that this draft class is deep with running backs. If so, why draft a RB in the first round? There are as many late round pick star RBs as there are first or second round star RBs. Talented RBs are easy to come by. Talented D lineman and o lineman are not. That is why you draft for the trenches first. A good d line and good o line help the 6-7 players behind them, making them better players. If cook is there at 19, I wouldn’t say it is a bad pick, the kid is obviously explosive. But we do need to address the trenches. Free agency or draft, we need to get some better talent in our trenches.

The Oklahoma rbs are a joke. The holes these guys ran through, no one touching thrm until the secondary. As looked armt from past history..what do big 12 offensive players do in the NFL? They dont play d in that conference. Dont give me Adrian Peterson either, that was what 12 years ago?

Just wondering, who was a better prospect Ezekiel Elliot or Dalvin Cook? The hype around Dalvin from bucs fans leads me to think Dalvin is on par with Elliot. If that is the case why would he slide all the way to 19? If Cook is the best RB in this draft class, he should be long gone by our pick. If he is there, then that kind of leads me to believe that FSU fans are just homering the crap out of their own guy. And Mel kiper? Really? That guy is the WORST draft guy in the world. He makes 100 different mock drafts to cover all his bases, just wait next week he will have cook going first overall.

I ain’t interested in no runner that comes from a spread offense. So R.O ME becoming pro bowler doesn’t prove you already have a #1, having a TE that lead the league in TDs doesn’t prove you already have a capable TE. According to many gmc and his many awards n means you already have a dominant D linemen right. Safety??? Tandy didn’t show ypu anything huh.. But tell who gonna run your football next season???

Zek is a better blocker outside of that they neck and neck Dalvin is a tad faster. Call it homer all you want this team is in need of a RB in the worse way. Noe in less you can guarantee DM returning to his 2015 form (which you can’t) Dalvin is what I’m saying all summer long homie.

What is funny is if Dalvin was Dalvin Cook any other school in the nation you haters would be clamoring for him. But because of your FSU bias you can’t bring yourself to get on board. Why a DT when we already have an all pro??? Why a TE when my undrafted free agent lead the league in TDs a league with Zach Irtz,Tyler Eifert and Greg Olsen in it. Why WR are we looking for a #1 replacement for ME??? Please. The same way dudes claim a RB can be found in the later rounds same can be said for any position you feel is of most need for our beloved Bucs.

Even with Ron Rivera making a statement about needing a RB. If Solo Thomas,Fournette and Dalvin all on the board at 8 I’m willing to bet he’ll take the DT. And find a RB like many here say is conventional wisdom “in the later rounds”.

If you’re going DL you have to do it in the first round. The drop off in talent seems huge to me after that. There will be RBs and WRs in the later rounds. It may sound like a cliche but there are simply more solid RB and WR in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds than there are solid DL. I’ll admit I’m an FSU homer so in every scenario that DC falls to us in the first I grab him up. Once you do that it seems to water down every pick after that. I feel like we have to put more pressure on the QB which in turn helps the corners and safeties, it all starts up front. Grab a JPP in FA and it changes everything. Then the draft shakes out as BPA, WR, OL, TE, RB, S. No particular order on position (unless DC is still there at 19) just BPA in a position of need.

As i said nosbos, if cook is as good as you say, then there is no way 18 teams pass on him. I think the kid is good. He just wont be there for the bucs to pick. I think he is the real deal, but im not going to slob all over him when i damn well know that he wont be there. You are going to be veey upset when he is gone before the bucs pick.
And i have no bias for or against FSU. I live out of state and couldnt care less about college football.

Look at a fa rb so we dont have to use a pick on one unless cook is there. I dont know that mccaffrey is worth 19….he might be though. I would look at Isaiah Crowell if he can run in cleveland he would rn hard here stays healthy to
