Matt Ryan: MVP Candidate
Cam Newton: Former MVP
Brees: Future HOF’r
..Winston is on the rise. I’m stuck between ranking him 3rd and 4th in the division, behind Ryan and Brees. Those two are from another planet. Winston needs more receiving options around him and a good compliment in his running-game for me to rank him higher. We’ve seen what the two-headed monster of Freeman and Coleman, along with additions of Gabriel and Sanu have done for the Atlanta offense, and Matt Ryan’s game. Winston’s not as accurate as those guys, and I don’t think he’ll ever be. He’s more of the Newton mold, hot and cold. Can’t wait to see what this off-season brings. In my opinion, we need another big-body receiver. We’ve seen Evans use his catch radius to make some spectacular catches, he may need another big body on the outside (Alshon) on top of the addition of a speed receiver. We’ve seen that type of offense thrive two years ago. The NFC South is absolutely loaded at this position. Next year will be a fun one.
I gave Jameis 3rd, though it was almost 4th for me…The accuracy issues is what he needs to work on this off season…Brees and Ryan got the laser direct throw..Cam does too, but I didn’t want to place Jameis last..
He’s 4th for now, maybe 3rd next year. Top 2 are both playing great, Brees is a 1st ballot HOF and Ryan is probably this years MVP and potential Super Bowl winner. Anyone who voted 1-2 for him, has to be FSU fans or hit the wrong button on accident.
I think Jameis will have a much improved year this year along with better talent next year.
I’m right there with 87. Those other guy are pretty damn good right now and Jameis is still a toddler in NFL terms. But he’s learning and growimg fast. Next year very well could be a different story.
Per Joe
“Fans only give a sh!t about wins” – Coach Koetter
Jameis ranks where his team ranked and finished this year because that’s where the sum of his and the teams collective efforts landed them. Where does ANY QB rank when their team isn’t lining up to play meaningful games in Jan/Feb? The land of Not Good Enough. What are the ratings of QB’s in the land of not good enough? SQUAT.
Okay I say he’s the 2nd best behind Bree’s hear me out cam is a one trick pony I fill like he’s overrated everyone started to figure him out rayan everyone is saying he’s the best but look how is he the best when he stated he had roddy white then they gave him tony G now he got arguably the best wr in jones & he have not produced a season past 5000 yards look switch Winston or drew in that situation they will break records hands down so that’s why I say he’s 2nd
This is kind of a loaded question and perhaps subject to interpretation.
If you’re saying who is the most accomplished QB the list shakes out one way.
If you’re saying who would you rather start for you in 2017 it changes a bit.
If you’re saying which of the four would you rather build around it changes dramatically.
Drew Brees gets props for an HOF career…but he’s fading and nobody would stake their future on him.
Cam had ONE great season on a team with arguably the best defense (Denver probably better) in the league. I just find him a bit of a loose cannon both on and off the field. Wouldn’t want him.
Matt Ryan…great QB at his peak this season. Has a few more good year left. I think though this may be a career year for him.
#3…obviously the best QB going forward. 23 able to do things that neither Brees or Ryan can do…and with some weapons watch out!
I don’t care which QB is the best. I would not trade our QB for any of them.
Eric..
Cam wouldn’t have had a 15-1 season if he didn’t have an accurate arm..come on dude..let’s be real..you don’t win that many games without having an arm with a built in laser..
Umm no dude. The reason Cam was so successful was because of his dual threat ability. I live in NC and have many friends that are obsessed with them and will tell you the same thing. He was possibly one of the best red zone threats in history in 2015, though. He was extremely difficult to defend because of the read option and his ability to scramble.
He overthrew his receivers at least 5x a game when I watched. Wide-open half the time. He was 59% and only 3800 yards.
I would say every QB in the league is accurate, but I’m sorry I follow a lot of football and I have never disagreed with anything more on this site than I do right now. Not to mention the defense was the main reason they were 15-1.
Cam does not have laser accurate passing abilities. You are so wrong.
I also respect your opinion buc 1987, but as a gators fan and someone who sees cam on everything and everywhere around here, I almost hate the guy.
He is the most selfish and fake guy I have seen in a while from my perspective. I see your logic in his athleticism but his mentality would never convince me to swap. Brees and Ryan don’t have much longer so I wouldn’t trade jameis for them either. The only qb I would trade jameis for is Derek carr.
Tampa I’m really not disagreeing with you. I was simply citing the most recent sample size. You are right they are both inconsistent. However, those stats I just listed weren’t manipulated, I literally just posted their completion percentage.
Not to mention Cam has not really improved in passing over his tenure. Jameis has, even if it is slightly. I am willing to bet by year 6, Jameis blows out Cam’s passing numbers. Not bad that he’s close to tenured MVP vet in his 2nd season either.
I think saying hes the worst in the division is the wrong word to use. All 4 have had very good to great seasons. Worst sounds too negative for what is really the case. He’s not as seasoned as the other 3. His first two seasons have been better than the other 3 in yardage. Im not really sure where he stands in the TD count compared to the other 3 in TD to INT ration in the first two seasons. So I guess Id say he’s at the bottom of 4 very good QBs.
Brees is on the decline. At 38 he does t have much left in the tank. For this reason I will put Winston ahead of brees. Brees in his prime, it is no contest though. I also have Cam behind Jameis. Cam let last seasons success get to his head. I get it, the bucs had a SB hangover too. But for jameis’ leadership and what’s he did with next to nothing behind Mike Evans. He deserves to be ahead of cam, how has 4 good targets to get the ball to.
This is a loaded and unfair question in regards to Jameis. The NFC South has the best QBs in the NFL. Brees, Ryan, Newton, and Winston? Show me another division that is that good?
January 25th, 2017 at 11:03 am
1.Matt Ryan
2. Drew Brees
3.Cam Newton
4. Jameis
Worst. For now.
January 25th, 2017 at 11:03 am
Behind Brees and Ryan. Ahead of Cam imo. Never thought Cam was that great
January 25th, 2017 at 11:09 am
Raise your hand if you think Winston is better that Brees or Ryan?
Newton did lead his team to 17-1 record and a SB appearance. Not too bad.

Ranking him 3rd or 4th is no indictment to the kid. 2 MVP’s and a 1st ballot HoF. That being said, he’s better than scam
January 25th, 2017 at 11:30 am
I’m right there with 87. Those other guy are pretty damn good right now and Jameis is still a toddler in NFL terms. But he’s learning and growimg fast. Next year very well could be a different story.
January 25th, 2017 at 11:45 am
He definitely needs to improve his accuracy, especially on the deep ball. Until then, last.
January 25th, 2017 at 11:48 am
JW3 is 3rd, if you look at just last year!!!
JW3 is currently 4th if you look at everyone’s career so far!!!!!!
End of story!!!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!
January 25th, 2017 at 11:49 am
definitely 4th but this poll is kind of slanted to be negative towards jameis, lets see a poll of worst or best gms or coaches
January 25th, 2017 at 12:00 pm
Voted 3rd but all I know is Go bucs! 2017 edition
January 25th, 2017 at 12:14 pm
I definitely think Jameis is a better QB than Cam Newton when you add up all the aspects of being a franchise QB.
January 25th, 2017 at 12:14 pm
Cam does not have a laser direct throw. Are you joking?
January 25th, 2017 at 12:17 pm
Bucrealist you nailed it man. Not really a debate.
However, when everything is said and done, I’m going to say..
1.Brees
2.Winston
3.Ryan
4.Cam
I don’t think cam will ever be what he was in 2015. He’s too immature and evidently not very smart. He is by far the worst passer of these four.
January 25th, 2017 at 12:42 pm
For career ranking he’s 4th.
For last year his is 2nd.
January 25th, 2017 at 12:56 pm
Career I would say, but going off last year and on I would say he is better than Cam and on the rise so I ranked him third.

2.winston
3.rayan
4.newton
January 25th, 2017 at 1:14 pm
Yea,I voted last, as far as career. He’s got a long way to go with his accuracy.

I voted 2nd best because that is where I expect Winston to be in 2017. Behind Ryan, Brees tailing off and Newton continuing his bewilderment.
January 25th, 2017 at 1:48 pm
Anyone who voted above 3rd is just being a homer. Hopefully one day Jameis will be there but for now REALISTICALLY he’s 4th.
January 25th, 2017 at 1:57 pm

Tied for 3rd with Cam.
Ryan became elite this year and Brees is a HOFer
Jameis has work to do but he will get there
January 25th, 2017 at 2:30 pm
??????….THE BEST!!!!!!
nawl he’s 3rd…..but in a year or 2 he’ll be the best….GO BUCS!!!!

Does anybody here actually believe Cam is a laser-accurate passer too?
January 25th, 2017 at 2:45 pm
Cam and Jameis have about the same type of accuracy, sadly
January 25th, 2017 at 2:48 pm
Eric….nope, but I still like him.
When others slight Cam. I pipe down.
In fact he’s the only QB in the South I’d trade places with if I had to do it.
January 25th, 2017 at 3:05 pm
I also respect your opinion buc 1987, but as a gators fan and someone who sees cam on everything and everywhere around here, I almost hate the guy.

Jameis was 60.8% compared to cam at 52.9% last year as well….
January 25th, 2017 at 3:36 pm
Eric you can manipulate stats anyway you want but look at their career completion percentage very similar
Also look at them in games both are very inconsistent throwers
January 25th, 2017 at 3:52 pm
Tampa I’m really not disagreeing with you. I was simply citing the most recent sample size. You are right they are both inconsistent. However, those stats I just listed weren’t manipulated, I literally just posted their completion percentage.

Right now I just see Ryan ahead of him. Brees has more weapons and a better line to sit back and throw behind. Cam I feel took steps back this year.
January 25th, 2017 at 6:02 pm
“The only qb I would trade jameis for is Derek Carr.”
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winnah!

I put 3rd, but upon reconcideration, I think 4th.
Ryan, seems to have turned a corner. If he maintains, he is currently the best.
Cam Newton is 2nd. He may not have played like it this year, but he’s good.
Drew Brees is not the QB he once was, but he’s still better than Winston.
Jameis has a lot of potential, but he is youngest and hasn’t achd it yet
January 25th, 2017 at 10:02 pm

Worst.
Down year for Cam, but he did win the MVP the year before.
I think next season the QBs will be
Jameis
Cam/Ryan
Brees
Brees has got to fall off at some point right?
January 25th, 2017 at 10:44 pm
Is this really a post/debate??
