Nothing Beats Hard Work
December 6th, 2016Mike Evans is having a Pro Bowl season. He’s at worst a top-four receiver in the NFL. That’s some tall cotton.
America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is having a season for the ages in terms of franchise history. A lot of folks have pointed to chemistry between Jameis and Evans as to why the duo have become a feared passing combination. And that’s not without merit.
Evans, so he told Joe after the win over the Chargers, sort of dismissed chemistry talk. Evans said the reason he and Jameis are clicking so well is an age-honored method that never fails: hard work.
“It is just hard work. Just two young guys trying to be the best they can be,” Evans. “We just work hard. That’s pretty much it.”
This year is hardly over and it is fun to hear folks like Bucs offensive coordinator Todd Monken discuss Evans, his surface has barely been scratched.
Provided neither gets injured, it’s cool to think of what Jameis and Evans could do with another year or two working together. Maybe Monken is right?

Winston to Evans will one day be talked about in the same discussion of dynamic duos as Montana/Rice, Manning/Harrison, Marino/Clayton.

A few more stellar games from Evans and he’s gotta be an all pro this year right? How many do they select at WR for first team? Is it 2 or 3?

Got to give it up to Todd Monken. He has Evans in a really good mind set now. Not the guy with the drops and whining with officials from last year. But we knew Evans was always talented and had it in him. What impresses me most with Monken is what he is getting out of the rest of the receiving corps. Our receivers are making plays and catches. That has not been the norm for the Bucs of the past. Even has he keeps going deeper down the roster for players. Tip of the hat to Todd Monken and the job he is doing.

AJ
That’s an excellent point! Like the Joes and most folks I’ve thought highly of Monken because of ME’s great season but it might be the Freddie Martinos and the Sheps and Humps that are even greater achievements for the Monk man.

..another year or two working together…
Imagine what they’ll still be doing together 5 years from now and beyond!

Ditto SPBF…
that’s why what was perceived as being scrubs are being coached up and putting in the extra time with JW!
Luck is when PREPARATION meets OPPORTUNITY.

A solid 1st or 2nd round WR that wants it as bad as Jameis and ME would be sweet.

Shoutout the PJ Fleck for having a hell of a year at WMU

Give our young gunslinger another weapon on the other side and teams won’t be able to keep up. Multiple SB’s.
I’ve changed my tune. Draft WR in the first round if one presents itself…if not go with plan B and draft a stud LT…try to move DS inside if not…then I don’t care at that point just draft along the lines damn it.
Where’s LUV when you need em?
Evans is a beast btw and it’s why I clamored a lot for him before they took him.
Now bring Jameis that weapon on the other side Licht. Someone that can REALLY fook with the defenes.
Okay back to this season now. Go Bucs. Make a run. I didn’t expect all this like most of us, but I think Jameis did. I don’t think we need to tell the kid anything different…okay Bonzai and the like.
If he takes us to playoffs and it’s one then done. So be it. BUILDING!
If not, oh well. The future is so effing bright right now, I’m nearly blind.

Evans tranformation as a pass catcher has been meteroic! Who ever got in his ear to catch the ball with his hands away from his body should be given a Bentley! To me that has been his biggest change and what a difference it has made!
