Mike Evans Sits During National Anthem
November 13th, 2016[UPDATE: 9:19 p.m.: The Buccaneers have released an official statement concerning Mike Evans’ sitdown protest of the National Anthem during Veteran’s Day Weekend ceremonies.]
Bucs superstar receiver Mike Evans wouldn’t rise during the National Anthem before today’s game and he doesn’t plan to stand for it this season.
Evans was happy to explain after the game in the Bucs’ happy locker room.
“I don’t want to, you know, disrespect the veterans or anything,” Evans said. “The men and women who serve this country, I’m forever indebted to them. But the things that’s been going on in America lately, I’m not going to stand for that. When Ashton Kutcher comes out and says we’ve been punked, then I’ll stand again. But I won’t stand anymore.”
Joe followed up to ask Evans if he heard the jeers and commentary from nearby fans.
“I heard it a little bit and it was from the people that I expected it to be from,” Evans said.
Evans said he did not ask for team support before making the call to sit during the Anthem. He was clear that it was a protest of Donald Trump’s election.
“If this happens, then America’s not right right now,” Evans said. “I said this a long time ago. When [Donald Trump] ran, I thought it was a joke, and the joke continues.
“I’m not a political person that much, but I got common sense. And I know when something’s not right.”
Evans went on to say his decision is not about political parties or anything more than his disgust at Trump’s victory.
Joe wishes Evans picked a different mode of protest — Veterans Day weekend at the stadium? — but Evans is free to do whatever he wishes.
Joe really doesn’t care about any player’s protest — unless it involves marching against home losses at the Den of Depression or the employment of cheerleaders.
Late Sunday evening, the Buccaneers released an official statement concerning Mike Evans’ sitdown protest.
“The Buccaneers are deeply committed to the military and honoring the great men and women that have dedicated their lives and have made great sacrifices to insure all the tremendous freedoms we have in this great country. We encourage all members of our organization to respectfully honor our flag during the playing of the National Anthem. We also recognize every individual’s constitutional right to freedom of speech, which is crucial to the American principles we cherish.”

Cut the PUNK today!
Don’t care how good he is.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:24 pm
🙄
November 13th, 2016 at 5:27 pm
disappointed in his choice especially in a military town. I guess maybe VJAX did not have the influence that some have suggested.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:28 pm
Come on Evans. Trump may have won but socialism lost, so it’s a win for everyone! Everyone, that is, that isn’t looking a a free handout!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:29 pm
“but I got common sense” Sure you do Mike, sure you do.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:29 pm
Cut him why?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:30 pm
Btw, love this win! Boy did we need it! The team played as one solid unit today! Kudos to Koetter, Winston and everyone!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:30 pm
Let the racists and hateful hypocrites start now…
You people deserve Trump and I hope he gives you people what you think you want as a leader.
I respect Mike for expressing himself.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:30 pm
So tired of it and all the other spoiled, disrespectful athletes who feel so much more special than the rest of us. I wonder if he’d be sitting on his butt during anthem if he was borderline practice squad. And they continue to wonder why NFL ratings are down. I’m to the point where I wouldn’t care if the NFL COMPLETELY COLLAPSED.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:30 pm
He doesn’t even know what he’s sitting about!must have seen to many political commercials
November 13th, 2016 at 5:31 pm
Just when Evans had all the right moves this season….
November 13th, 2016 at 5:31 pm
So he didn’t want to disrespect the veteran? Then pick another weekend to start Mike.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:32 pm
Well that fukcing sucks ass.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:33 pm
Good job mike. Who cares? Its a song that has nothing to do with the game anyway. Why do they even have it be4 sports events anyways? Mike my muhf’n dude.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:33 pm
I support him 100%. He is standing for something that is bigger than football and more importantly, standing up for what he believes in. I agree with him. Trump is a joke.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:33 pm
I get it. We all have our own way of coping with our blinders being taken off and seeing what the country really is. It sucks. Most of us are pretty turned off by the state of the nation right now
November 13th, 2016 at 5:33 pm
Maybe should grow a huge ‘Fro and become a lousy quarterback.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:34 pm
Really dee? Why did you even ask that?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:34 pm
Got some racist people on this site am out.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:34 pm
Lol at cutting him, yall are funny. So is it mandatory to stand? Is this not the land of the free?? Im a Marine Veteran and he has every right to protest because thats what myself and all Military fought for. You have your right to disagree but guess what, thats you have the freedoms to.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:34 pm
At least he isn’t kneeling during the game: Lavonte David 1 tackle and 1 assist. Much more interesting topic of discussion imho rather than political baiting.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:36 pm
So he’s protesting democracy?!?!? The young lad has sooo much to learn. Maybe he’ll change his tune when he files his taxes next year.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:36 pm
ME13 just took a giant ASJ style dump on my day.
He can express his opinion in a lot of ways but to do it that way is simply plain stupid……he has cost himself a great deal in endorsements…..and earned the wrath of many Buc fans……perhaps half of them or more.
That’s simply immature and stupid…….he joins Colin Kaepernick instead of his teammates.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:37 pm
Joe….I’d really like to see a poll on this.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:37 pm
Betty Wittendger with her first ever comment on Joe Buc fan. Glad to see what brings her out of the woodwork . To me it’s not even a story . Play football make great catches. I don’t watch sports to get pissed about players views. Does his sitting effect any of you at all? Is he harming you and your loved ones? Lighten up people
November 13th, 2016 at 5:40 pm
Mike did what he felt was right. I stand with him. This racism will not win. That’s for sure. Like he said, we all know who is going to give him crap for it.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:40 pm
I guess Evans forgot that 60 million people did NOT think he is a joke….
November 13th, 2016 at 5:41 pm
As a Bucs fan, I will be booing him at the games. This nonsense has to stop. Show some respect you spoiled brats!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:41 pm
Thank you to all the veterans that fought for the greatest country in the world.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:41 pm
Mike Evans just ruined my respect for him. He was perhaps my favorite player on the team. Now he seems like just another coddled millenial.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:42 pm
All the racist in this post are in a uproar. Lmao. Let him have his rights man. Don’t hold that against him.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:42 pm
So you’re protesting democracy?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:42 pm
Yea JOE, poor taste, on your part. Your site I get that. But no one said anything about it until you pointed it out. C’mon yo, really?.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:44 pm
Go play in the CFL punk for 1/3 the money. You play football but are too stupid to think about anything else. Make sure you don’t take it out on your wife.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:45 pm
I am no longer a Mike Evans fan. Mike, you’re a panzy! Stop you’re crying and know that the NFL is no place for bed wetters!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:45 pm
Ashton said we got punks so he sits ? Hillary was the one that would have the corrupted am
No finished off America. Incredible how people talk and have no clue to know what really is going on. Trump is cleaning out corruption. Finally a non politician who has done something outside of using politics to feed his wallet.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:45 pm
I’d like to thank ME13 for freeing up my Sunday afternoons to do MEANINGFUL things! Bad enough that this team SUCKS, I refuse to stand for for this too!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
Asshole what does trump have to do with our nation antum . Just wh as t trump would do
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
Mike, how about giving Trump a chance before going Kapernick on him.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
An American exercises his right to protest.
“Cut him”
“He sucks”
“He’s so unAmerican”
YAWN
How many of you stood for the national anthem today while you were watching the game at home?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
Why wasn’t the follow up question did you vote Mr Evans?? I don’t mind the protest even though I think it’s disgusting to protest this way but if he didn’t vote I don’t wanna hear his ass talk
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
The dude is like 24 years old and he says he’s been saying this for a “long time” shows this young mans lack of perspective. Start thinking for yourself!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:46 pm
Why is he protesting a legally elected president? He was democratically elected, is he protesting the fact that he was elected? If so then he is not for democracy. I am not a fan of obama but i wasnt protesting the fact that he was elected cause people voted for him
November 13th, 2016 at 5:47 pm
Joe, I’m really sick of your sympathizing with this kind of “mind set”. You’re as big a part of the problem as the immature, unpatriotic, closed minded idiots that don’t show respect for the flag.
God help us all if the day comes where they regret taking their freedoms for granted
November 13th, 2016 at 5:47 pm
Please, keep having a monster year, I’ll keep cheering. You people are sooo frigging uptight, yet probablya lot of you didn’t have the guts to put on a uniform and fight. My late father fought in World War 2, he wouldn’t have cared if Evans sat, why should you?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:47 pm
Also,
what Chris just said!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:47 pm
@Gt40bear….
trust me, you won’t be missed.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:48 pm
To those of you that are saying the ones that disagree with him are racists.
I consider Evans a racist for this chicken spit stunt! And I did not vote for Trump or Clinton. (Yes, I know I threw my vote away but they both were terrible choices) Just like he has a right to have an opinion, so do I.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:48 pm
Waahh hes sitting down for a song that shouldnt be even played b4 the beginning of a game anways!!! Waaahha that hurts my feelings!!! Waahh. Shutup bunch of burthurt babies likely racists. Who gives a crap how does it affect ur life? None exactly who gives a crap then.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:48 pm
Yeah like Russia taking over Eastern Europe again….. whoops
November 13th, 2016 at 5:48 pm
Make America Great again Cut Evans
November 13th, 2016 at 5:48 pm
Evans your a punk! Love how all the libs are always talking about acting right and being fair until they lose an election FAIR and square voted on by the people. Your a great football player but just stick to that no one cares what you Miley Cyrus or any of the other rich snobs have to say. WE THE PEOPLE spoke and you can all shove it right up your ass you bunch of damn crybabies
November 13th, 2016 at 5:49 pm
@mike10…
How is him exercising his FREEDOM to not stand as him taking his freedom for granted?
It’s so funny to see the everyday civilian complain about people protesting, but the people that have fought and died for our freedom to protest, for the majority, have NO problem with players protesting?
Kind of ironic, if you ask me.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:49 pm
I don’t care about Evans making a political statement. There should be more like him. When you are that age protest is forefront in a natural progression of questioning authority. You are not old enough to see the bigger picture. What does patriotism have to do with sports anyway?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:49 pm
I could give a flying flip how he decides to protest but really Mike, veterans Day weekend of all days??? No respect for that at all – i will no longer route for you on Sunday’s, plan on simple – from one veteran to a spoiled NFL player, your actions were down right disrespectful to us
November 13th, 2016 at 5:50 pm
RTG Bucs
very well said sir
November 13th, 2016 at 5:50 pm
Delawarebucsfan, people can disagree without it being about race. Stop using the race card for everything!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:50 pm
Look, people, a vast majority of Trump’s supporters are not racists, and Trump probably isn’t either. Trump’s election had nothing to do with racism, but purely to do with him being an agent of change and because of people’s opinions on the economy.
Trust me, when white people went to the polls last Tuesday, they did not think “Wow, I really hate blacks and hispanics. Imma vote Trump!” Maybe about 1,000 out of the 60,000,000 people that voted for him thought that.
Everyone needs to grow up, accept the result of this election, and realize that Trump’s America will have no less opportunities for any American citizens than Clinton’s America would have.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:50 pm
At Celly…
That would be zero stood up at home
November 13th, 2016 at 5:51 pm
Bud you just lost alot of fans in Aggieland. You should move to LA or NY so you can hang out with your people. Maybe get a bat and bash some windows.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:51 pm
Not very political? He should be equally disappointed in the incessant whining of the liberals since they lost. Killary Klinton wasn’t elected, its not like the Donald beat Mr. Theresa. Wonder if Mike actually even voted?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:51 pm
I am combat vet and love my country. Mike Evans is now approaching Derrick Brooks status for me. Rather die on my feet than live on my knees. Very proud of you Mike!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:52 pm
It would be so much easier for Evans to stand, say nothing and get paid. Instead he is making a stand for something he believes when he knows there will be backlash. Well done to him and let’s be honest, Donald Trump is an embaressing joke.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:52 pm
Absolutely ridiculous that as soon as anyone disagrees with something such as this they are immediately labeled a racist. It doesn’t make you a racist to disagree with Evans. It also doesn’t make someone a racist if they voted for Trump. Obama and his group have succeeded in dividing this country. The Democratic Party, that preaches acceptance and tolerance are the most intolerant people I’ve ever seen when something doesn’t go their way. So quick to call someone a racist. So quick to label someone. Yet preaching that labels are wrong. Such hypocrites. If he wants to sit, it’s his right to do so. If someone wants to disagree, it’s their right to do so. You can’t insist on standing up for one persons freedom of expression while condemning someone else’s because it doesn’t conform with your belief or opinion.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
@WhatdaBUC…
I won’t be so bold as to say “zero”… but i’m willing to bet money that a majority of people were only standing because they were on their way to get another beer or get some wings off the grill….
With all the issues going on in the world (not just the country), to be upset at someone not standing for a song is so asinine to me.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
Ahhh man… Have his jersey and is a great player… But I can’t stand all this “I have to show the world what I think” stuff. If you disrespect our process then you disrespect All of us.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
I don’t care what Mike Evans is saying about his reasons for not standing during the National Anthem. I have 2 Grandfathers who were in the Military. 1 was a Master Seargant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and my other Grandpa was at Iwo Jima, and was in the Navy. Veterans Day is important for me and my Father. To see Mike Evans do this, is REALLY Anti-American!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
And people wonder why the NFL ratings continue to decline, this idiot is a perfect example…
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
So all you guys upset by a player doing something well within his rights were mad too when you found out the NFL was taking millions of dollars from the Dept. of defense to “honor” the military last year right… or are you a bunch of hypocrites?
Go to North Korea if you want a govt that forces people to stand for the flag.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:53 pm
black fan here, screw all of you ignorant white privilege punks. Evans has every right to sit or Neal against this racist , hypocritical country. Screw you kkk loving fools
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
WOW!!!
I’ve never seen so many new posters……welcome everybody!!!
Joe….this could be really good for your business…..I’m not so sure about ME13
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
Mike look behind the curtain bro. Don’t be a sheep and follow the slanted media man. Please 13 take the time to reSearch what is really going on
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
What an idiot. Obviously doesn’t know much about politics or what he is protesting. But this is what you get when you give some stupid dumb$&& punk a bunch of money. These celebrities. Celebrities act like we care what they think. Being a celebrity does not constitute being political braintrusts considering most of them bypassed real educations and are overeoresented by moron.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
P. S. Your At Work…. Act like it
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
I’m saying though
We just WON….
And this is now the hot topic
Damn u JOE
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
Did you vote?
November 13th, 2016 at 5:54 pm
Land of the free unless we say so.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:55 pm
You people are ridiculous. If he wants to protest against a flag or an anthem 4 any reason, it’s his business. You judgemental racist people need to shut up. Why would a young black man endorse a masaginistic, arrogant, filthy rich piece of. Trash like Trump. It has nothing to do w/ the veterans of this country. It’s about who was elected president.
His football stature is his job, not his personal identity. He can express himself as he feels.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:55 pm
Boxing up my sons jersey and sending it to him, he can have it.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:56 pm
Gotta say…his reasoning fits. This isn’t about cops. This is actually about America. And when an idiot like Trump is put into office by a bunch of ignorant, easily manipulated voters, it’s a fitting protest.
Better than rioting in the streets.
November 13th, 2016 at 5:56 pm
Wrong weekend to make a stance id like to know if he voted, funny he has poor game on weekend of his protest
November 13th, 2016 at 5:56 pm
If I were to ask ME13 one question.
“What exactly has Trump done as President that you object to?”
November 13th, 2016 at 5:57 pm
Most people didn’t vote for Trump… Just saying
November 13th, 2016 at 5:57 pm
You can tell by these responses that most of yall are from Florida, don’t know many people from Florida or that
lives there but I can see why Trump won in Florida now based on this post alone!!!! Smh!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 5:57 pm
I agree 1000% with him.. It’s so disgusting that trump won.. a known racist, degrading to women, jokes about the disabled. Gonna run this country like his business(company bosses don’t care about the people, they just care about getting theirs)
November 13th, 2016 at 5:57 pm
Denny Gay, please do. I feel sorry your son has such a close minded fool for a father
November 13th, 2016 at 5:58 pm
Hey media, ya lost already, why continue? I’ll buy him a ticket. First class to get the heck outta here, just like all the other bums. Bye bye
November 13th, 2016 at 5:58 pm
Well, I guess if every that think Trump is a joke and everyone that thinks Hillary is a joke stayed seated for the anthem, then no one would be standing for anything. Protesting is for when you believe your rights have been violated. Please someone, name one single right you have lost since Trump has been elected. People are protesting and not a single one of them can actually give you a legit reason for their protest. All that’s being protested is the outcome of the election at this point. That would be like Chicago Bears protesting the winner of the game today by saying they don’t accept the results of the final score of the game… Or like me saying “I don’t accept the Chicago Cubs as being my world baseball world champions… It F’n stupid and it’s nothing but being a bunch of F’n babies. Trump has not done anything to change anyone’s life and everyone is protesting based off assumptions at this point when he has done nothing. You are protesting a person. Ignorant. What does anyone think this protesting of a person is going to do? He is going to be the president of the United States whether you like it or not, protest or not. You cannot go back and change the outcome of the election. Also, you are protesting against everyone that voted for Trumps vote. How about this, I protest your Hillary vote, so what. It makes no damn difference to the outcome and is going to change nothing because what you are protesting is an elected person simply because you do not like him, now when he actually does something that will change or impact your life, then you have a legit reason for a protest. Otherwise, you are just crying out loud. Grow up
November 13th, 2016 at 5:59 pm
This is sad
November 13th, 2016 at 5:59 pm
People need to realize that the race is over. It’s time to come together and try and help each other and this great nation to be a better place for our children. He wouldn’t be doing this if he were a rookie trying to keep a spot on the team.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:00 pm
If there’s one thing I love more than Mike protesting Trump, it’s how butt hurt it’s making all of the old white dads on this site that post nonsense. Simple, simple people…..
November 13th, 2016 at 6:01 pm
You had one vote, just like everyone else. Now shut, up because nobody cares what you think except your sister. We watch NFL to relax and have a good time. Take that away and we will find something else to do, and you can find another job, jackass.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:01 pm
What size jersey is it? I’ll take it.
You know why? Cause whether I agree with him or not, his choices have NO bearing on my everyday life. As a matter of fact, as long as he makes plays on Sundays and helps the Bucs win, that’s just about the only thing I need him to do.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:01 pm
Huge fan of Mike, extremely disappointed in this though. Its ignorant, and disrespectful to act like that. Two nominees run and one wins, being disrespectful especially on veterans appreciation week is what is wrong with this country not Trump who is our next president. Have some respect for the men and woman that serve and have served our country and stand for what is good and not what you feel is bad or wrong. Not everything you see and hear in the media and on social media are true either just saying.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:01 pm
Lol at all you frigging newbies to comment. This is what it takes? Not ten years of agonizingly bad football? Not a great home win, punctuated by the play by a Jameis? A guy sitting during the anthem. Right Wing zealots, forcing their ideology of democracy on others . I’m a white guy, entire family military. It’s his right . It doesn’t infringe on you or your family. Don’t cheer, send his jersey away, no one CARES. When he makes a one hand catch or a leaping grab in the end zone, I’ll be cheering, don’t give a rats ass if you do or don’t
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
What an absolute dumb ass. He has the right to sit and be a dumb ass, I have the right to call the dumb ass a dumbass. So dumb ass, are you going to sit every game for the next 4-8 years? Hey dumb ass, you’re wearing the buccaneer brand. Why don’t you show a little respect for the people that sign your paycheck while you’re wearing their brand, dumb ass? Oh, it’s all about mike Evans. His candidate lost. Boo hoo. Cry baby dumbass. Screw you, you whiny little biotch.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
duthsty rhothdes Says
Wrong weekend to make a stance id like to know if he voted, funny he has poor game on weekend of his protest
He didn’t have a ‘poor’ game. He was just covered really well so Jameis spread the ball around more. 9 players caught passes today. 5 had 30+ yards.
Evans had 66. Only Brate had more.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
Could you imagine if folks took a knee to protest Obama? Trump is crazy, ya. But respect 5he presidency and veterans always. Especially on veterans day weekend.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
Some of you folks should realize that part of being patriotic is the ability to recognize and criticize the things that are wrong in your country. Small minded fools.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
What awhole!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:02 pm
So……what are we to assume if he eventually stands up?
Or….will he sit for 4 years?
November 13th, 2016 at 6:03 pm
So basically he didnt stand because his choice didnt win. Keep pouting while Trump Makes America Great Again!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:03 pm
Mike voice out on black on black killing.
In the last 12 years more brothers between the ages of 18-34 have killed each other then died in the Vietnam war. Over 55 thousand. mike come out on that man
November 13th, 2016 at 6:04 pm
What an ahole!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:04 pm
I will not support anything NFL ever again. These prima donna athletes cannot support our troops and those who gave their lives to make sure these ladies can run out there and play catch. I grew up in the ghetto and have been watching black on black Crime my entire life. Never one time did these guys come out and say a word about it. All the sudden now they are and we have people setting police officers up in ambushes and killing them. It’s absolutely outrageous. So there was some police officers doing wrong to minorities and I am not on their side when it comes to that. But this does not help the situation disrespecting our troops and Nation. I’m ashamed of everyone who was against trump and for Hillary. I didn’t like trump wasn’t even in my top 5 but I would rather have him then crooked Hillary Clinton. what have the Democrats done for minorities other than keep them down
November 13th, 2016 at 6:04 pm
Might want to rethink that Evans. I pay money to watch you play, not hear or see your political views. If this continues, maybe I’ll stop paying. I don’t think Tampa is in any situation to drop any more fans.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:04 pm
I’m fine with it. Had this been over the whole Colin thing I would not have been…but this is a political move to protest a political topic.
On a week when the Canadian immigration website crashed because so many Americans want to leave, this is minor in comparison.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:05 pm
I notice all the Trump supporters are up in arms…
November 13th, 2016 at 6:06 pm
Rob…we’ll surely miss you…after all of your many ONE times posting.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:06 pm
Mike Evans….. you are the joke. You think Trump being president is a joke but your ok with Hilliard who’s to blame for guys getting killed and putting our nation at security risk. Good thoughts you moron
November 13th, 2016 at 6:07 pm
Celly
I soldier can do what he wants. He’s made the sacririce that allows Mike Evans to make millions playing a game. But ask a family member who lost someone over seas, or better yet, sit in the their presence and tell me that’s not disrepectful. It’s cowardly. Never saw V Jax sit for the national anthem… that’s right, he’s not another spoiled millennial.
That sucks… was just starting to like ME too…
November 13th, 2016 at 6:07 pm
Ironic?
November 13th, 2016 at 6:08 pm
Trump got put into office by ignorant voters? Or maybe people are sick of the past 8 years of division and blame, I didnt vote for Pres Obama but supported him because he is our president, its sad all these snowflakes are butt hurt over the American political system, how about all of America give the new president a chance to be successful and then judge him from there
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
How exactly is Trump a racist? Because he wants to actually enforce the law? Give me a break. Do some actually research before voicing your incorrect opinions on matters that are already voted on and decided. Get over it. And by “actual research” that doesnt mean videos on Facebook that have been cut and modified. Thank you
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Why would you say that you’re protesting Donald Trump being elected as president? You are not protesting him, you’re protesting the voters.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Trolls Bonzai who’ve never commented on this site. Lol, none of them have ever commented once in all the years this sites been up and running , but they’ll tell you how much money they’ve spent , but never once had anything to say about the team they spend soooo much on? Can’t wait until this article goes away so I don’t see any of their yaps flapping again.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Buccaneer BrownEye sez:
I notice all the Trump supporters are up in arms…
As are the Billary Backers….it goes both wS, Buccaneer BrownEye
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Who cares what he thinks. If you really want to make a statement leave the country🤐🤐🤐 put up or shut up!!!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Boy what a moron…..he said he sat to protest Trump then goes in to say hes not much of a political person??? Not only is he disrespectful but pretty stupid as well. Lost ALL respect. What a disgrace to our team and our country…..
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
Until he’s off the team, Im finished with him and anyone else like him and this BS! No wonder the nfl is losing ratings!!!!
NEEDS TO REPLACE THAT MOUTH GUARD WITH A PACIFIER!!!!!!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
@mike10…
But the argument isn’t whether it is disrespectful to the families of the military. People are upset because of the perception of disrespect to the military themselves.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:11 pm
To me, this is the funniest argument of most Trump supporters….
Cause i sure remember 8 years ago when Pres Obama was elected, they were quick to judge him and didn’t give him a chance….
I wonder what the difference is…
November 13th, 2016 at 6:11 pm
Nobody cares how your punk ass feels , bottom line he is our next president, I hope someone will bust your ass on the football field. Yea it’s your right to sit down , when they play anthem and honor all those who died in wars so your sorry ass can make millions playing a game. Go find another country, you don’t deserve this one.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:12 pm
Got home. Opened up my grill. BBQed my Mike Evans jersey while on Facebook live.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:13 pm
Now I know what sports radio will be talking about this week….I for one will not be tuning in.
Just going to be a bunch of people screaming about disrespect and the hosts asking if it’s a distraction, which it wouldn’t be if nobody talked about it.
Btw him kneeling really affected his teammates performance, total distraction…maybe he should do it every week if the Bucs get the same result.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:13 pm
Evans is a little bitch. Will not watch another game until he is gone, or stands..
November 13th, 2016 at 6:14 pm
Celly huh? If you have to think that hard about the semantics, it’s probably just safe to stand!
Protest on social media or on a street corner.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:14 pm
Than don’t watch MadMax and don’t support this site, goodbye nice knowing ya. ME13 will be here another 10 + years, see ya. How much time you people see? How many wars you fight in? I know of only a few actual vets who are longtime regulars, St Pete Buc fan being one, and I know he has no problem with Evans. Put up or shut up, go and enlist, fight over seas, big talk from people who’ve never served
November 13th, 2016 at 6:14 pm
Buc trooper haha
November 13th, 2016 at 6:14 pm
“I will not support anything NFL ever again. These prima donna athletes……..”
WELL SAID @Rob, my thoughts exactly!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:15 pm
Since when does the anthem have anything to do with an election? The NFL created this mess when they allowed political expression on the field. Evans can do whatever the he11 he wants on his own time, but he shouldn’t be doing it at work. Dumba__
November 13th, 2016 at 6:15 pm
Evans is allowed to have his opinion. I dont mind if he wants to take a knee during the anthem, thats his right. Sucks though cuz I was about to buy an Evans jersey. Guess I will be getting a #28 instead, maybe #22. We’ll see.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:16 pm
Evans and his “supporters” are Exactly Like those other SPOILED COMMUNIST Athletes and Celebrities and all the other Losers that need sympathy dogs and psychiatrists after Criminal Hillary didn’t get elected!!!
And GUESS WHAT! If you don’t Like the way THIS Country is Being Run–then GET OUT!!! PLEASE LEAVE, We are ALL BEGGING You to Pack Up and Take YOUR MISERY and HATE and NATURAL STUPIDITY to whatever OTHER Country You would like TO GO TO!!! The SOONER, The BETTER!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:17 pm
Thanks for the attention Chris….you’re part of the problem being ok with it….whatever, go wipe his nose when he sneezes too.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:17 pm
I voted for Trump. Will get that right on out there.
However, though I don’t agree with his decision not to stand it is his decision. I believe it is disrespectful and a disservice to our veterans and he should have chosen another way to express himself but again, it was his decision.
What bothers me here is the you know who you are calling trump supporters racist. It is usually the first thing that comes out of your mouths. When we are called that on a regular basis it affects us and pisses alot of us off, me included.
I ask that all of you stop insulting people but calling us racist. It is childish, stupid and quite honestly not even close to the truth.
@ Joe, I wish we lived in a time that we could have a calm, respectful conversation about politics but it just isn’t possible. This topic may not have been the best of ideas.
Go Bucs!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:17 pm
Here comes the media distraction….crap
November 13th, 2016 at 6:18 pm
Bucs had a great win today and I was elated. But reading this afterwards about Mike Evans’ actions today for some reason made that victory seem hollow to me. I thank God daily that we’re a free country, a nation in which players like Evans & Kaepernick can stand, kneel or sit as they choose when our National Anthem is played before each game. That freedom, to me at least, is worth celebrating and it’s certainly worthy of my respect. That so many throughout our history gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be free as a nation stirs emotions in me, and in many others, that far too many in our great nation will never share or understand. Respect is at the heart of those emotions, and standing tall, taking off my hat & putting my hand over my heart while the National Anthem is played & Old Glory is flown is but one way for me to show that respect. There are lots of ways to protest the current political climate and I’d encourage Evans & others to do exactly that if they’re serious. But disrespecting our anthem and our flag isn’t appropriate in my opinion. Sorry for rambling.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:18 pm
What another DUMBASS !!! So you believe AMerica has racial inequality and you don’t like Donald Trump ? The men and women of the Armed forces come from ALL backgrounds…ALL backgrounds. This is getting ridiculously out of hand. Theyre protests are directed in the wrong direction and this wont accomplish a damn thing but plummet the already sinking NFL ratings. I hope every damn one of them breaks a leg… Stupid ass Pre Madonnas
November 13th, 2016 at 6:18 pm
Guys a worm!! Grow up peter pan welcome to the new age! These riots are actually considered acts of terrorism if you really want to get down to facts!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:18 pm
Speaking for Pablo
“Pablo appreciates the Veterans that served to protect Pablo’s right to vote. Pablo also appreciates freedom of speech. Pablo supported Cruz & Rubio…..that makes Pablo a racist… Pablo guesses.”
November 13th, 2016 at 6:19 pm
Nice slap In the face to us veterans mike.. way to go jackasss.
I served 20 years and sacrificed a lot, and you know what, I hated
Serving under obama. He’s easily the worst cic in history. Trump
Won fair and square….we had an election. And the people chose trump
Get over it, move on with your life…
November 13th, 2016 at 6:20 pm
Bad move Mike, very very bad move. Dissapointing.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:20 pm
And shame on the media for even entertaining this clowns Nonsense…. TRUMP WON PEOPLE AMERICA HAS SPOKEN get over it….
What are you going to do PROTEST all those ” Not MY LOSSES ” that yall have earned as well ??? Mike Evans is an IDIOT
November 13th, 2016 at 6:20 pm
I think it is a selfish act. The attention will now be focused on him and his act instead of his team. Whatever.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:20 pm
So, I posed these questions to my veteran cousin:
His response:
So, tell me this. If someone who has fought and seem friends die in duty have no issue with a player exercising his right to protest, who are you, Cindy Civilian, to say that said person is wrong???
Get off your high horse.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:21 pm
Maybe this is what’s been wrong with this team. Too much politics and not enough work.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:21 pm
Worse thing with all these snowflakes is you assume that by disagreeing with pres obama’s political ideologies and policies, the next argument or statement is “your just a racist” … I think the fact the US electrd a black president is awesome for the US, Obama seems like a great husband and father and probably the coolest president ever, but his political ideology and divisive nature has hurt America….. I would hope all the snowflakes move ahead in the grief process and get behind the trump train and support america and OUR president
November 13th, 2016 at 6:22 pm
Nah, I’ll still root for his big catches and tds, I won’t have a cardiac arrest sitting during an anthem . Go goose step somewhere else. I like that you people don’t allow for basic inalienable rights. Love your version of America. Do I agree with it? No. But will it effect me and my family? No. What does it mean in the grand scheme of things? Not allow you to watch football? Glad I’m not as tightly wound as you
November 13th, 2016 at 6:22 pm
JW
great post.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:23 pm
everyone should have to serve then comment
November 13th, 2016 at 6:24 pm
I need to tell the group something: that Jersey went up like a tinderbox. If you’re tailgating close to a grill with your jersey on, you are wearing a fire hazard. That jersey was NOTHING in like 3 minutes. 🔥🔥🔥
November 13th, 2016 at 6:24 pm
Celly, there’s a time and a place for everything. This is the wrong time and the wrong place.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:26 pm
I hope “AMERICA’S TEAM” the Cowboys light his a$$ up on Dec. 18!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:26 pm
When Ashton Kutcher comes out and says we got punked!!!!???? You mean that TV actor? A ha, A ha ha ha ha ha….Oh Mike, Come on Bro get real !!!!!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:27 pm
If someone who has fought and seem friends die in duty have no issue with a player exercising his right to protest, who are you, Cindy Civilian, to say that said person is wrong???If someone who has fought and seem friends die in duty have no issue with a player exercising his right to protest, who are you, Cindy Civilian, to say that said person is wrong???
———————
Do we not have a right to voice our opinion also?… To say Mike is allowed to express his opinion but we arent is called a double standard.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:27 pm
Yes, he has the right to protest and the NFL has the right to publish this fact.
And, I have the right to NOT go on this site again.
Publishing his stupidity is not worth my time. Idiot, that he is!!!!
Much better news to read. If they don’t get publicity then they will dead!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:27 pm
@MadMax….
I brought you and the jersey burning up to my veteran cousin (because we think it’s laughable)….
His response:
So, as my cousin requests…. Why did you burn your jersey?
November 13th, 2016 at 6:28 pm
@Crazy…..
I didn’t know the constitution said you had the freedom of speech and right to protest under specific guidelines and places.
Do you mind sending me a link so i can read that amendment?
November 13th, 2016 at 6:29 pm
Last word should be “quit!” Not sure where “dead” came form!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:29 pm
@Bucs Ace….
What’s funnier is that the next President is also a TV actor and a businessman with no, I repeat NO, history in politics at any level.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:30 pm
Its a private organization chris. And if I was a team owner, I would instruct those who wish to not stand, then stay in the locker room…..do that crap on your own time and your own dime.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:31 pm
People saying cut Evans are more of a joke, the man can do as he pleases.. land of the free. Also I can careless if he stands, or sits as long as he keeps producing the way he is.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:32 pm
If Mike wants to put his political opinions on display for the world to see then he damn well better be able to suck it up and deal with the criticism that comes with that, which as you can see a lot of people dont agree with and is insulted by. Its very simple. If you disagree with that then thats fine, tell us why we are wrong but dont tell us we dont have a right to tell him he’s wrong. LoL. Ridiculous. This is like calling someone a racist simply for voting for Trump.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:32 pm
Joker: Mike Evans sits down and everyone seems to loose their minds.
Lol get over it, he didnt slap your baby or grab your wife by the kitty. To say cut the man is dumb as hell. Everyone has an opinion and I know i dont take it personal i got my own problems to deal with.

November 13th, 2016 at 6:33 pm
Very Sad he would do this in Tampa where are Military means so much. I voted for Hillary and am sick watching these violent protests and now this piece of crap disrespect for them and our flag! Will never look at him the same even though he is a great player. Country before foototball and I hope Vincent and Jamies tell him He Sucks

I’m a veteran and have no problem with this at all. You guys are hilarious. This entire thread is stupid and anyone who is angry is either stupid, racist or both.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:35 pm
Celly, try it at your place of business. See how that works out for you. The NFL restricts all sorts of personal expression both legally and constitutionally.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:36 pm
Im disappointed in Mike I hope this doesn’t spread threw out the team I really like these guys and I want to be able to respect them and teach my son about them there names so he can respect them but we respect the military first & The President elect he won its over im Glad Trump2016 but I’m not going to teach me our my kin about Mike till he comes back to his senses smh
November 13th, 2016 at 6:36 pm
This entire thread is stupid and anyone who is angry is either stupid, racist or both.
———-
See anyone that doesnt agree with an opinion gets called names. LoL. Keep proving my points for me. You’re doing a great job!!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:36 pm
Because I’d be ashamed to wear it again. I wouldn’t want anyone thinking I admired anything about Evans eliminated all guilt by association.
Plus I wasn’t donating it because I don’t want him getting any more publicity.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:37 pm
I still find it so funny that veterans have no problem with this, but civilians who have never served in the military do…..
That’s like the Native Americans having no issue with the Redskins name, but non-Native Americans feeling as though it’s a disrespectful name and needs to be changed.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:38 pm
Wasn’t even talking about you Couch, but a hit dog will YELP lol. Proves my point too.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:38 pm
Freedom of speech is only as free as the acceptance speech you detest the most. .
November 13th, 2016 at 6:38 pm
Nothing you or any other protester can do to change the outcome of the election. I would stop wasting your time and your reputation.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:38 pm
Sigh, Joes don’t put this stuff up here. It doesn’t matter if he sits, kneels, or stands because it doesn’t change anything. I wish everyone could see the lunacy of both the left and right in this election. Really thinking about leaving the country again to get away from the crazies on both sides.
For the right – you won move on and fingers crossed Trump is a good leader. Hopefully we don’t see roll backs of equal rights for minority groups. Hopefully with controlling the house, senate, court, and the presidency the right can pass some real laws to turn the country around.
For the left – you can not like the results but what is going on right now in this country is insane. People are being beaten to death, parents are abusing their kids over voting for Trump in Elementary school, property is being destroyed, and crimes are being committed all because the system worked exactly like it is supposed to. Also assuming people are prejudiced because they voted for Trump is being prejudiced yourself.
Like I told the right when Obama got elected we shouldn’t hope he fails because that is like hoping the pilot is drunk and on sleeping pills that is flying your plane.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:41 pm
Just because someone in the military doesnt feel disrespected by someones actions doesnt mean nobody else should either. You have a right not to be angry if you dont want to be. But stop acting as if your opinion is holier than thou. LMAO.
Celly isnt offended anyone so nobdoy else has a right to be either!! SMH
November 13th, 2016 at 6:41 pm
Oh boy.
Wait till my wife hears about this.
She Loves Evans and Trump. Something tells me I won’t have to get her that Evans jersey for Christmas now.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:43 pm
This entire thread is stupid and anyone who is angry is either stupid, racist or both.
—————-
@Scurvy
actually I am included with “anyone” so yes, your statement included me. But lets not let facts get in the way.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:44 pm
@Couch…
It’s not about my opinion being better than everyone else.
It’s about people feeling like Evans (or any one else that decides not to stand for the national anthem) disrespected the veterans of this country that “fought and died for your rights” when those same exact veterans that you feel he’s disrespecting feel NO DISRESPECT WHATSOEVER…..
November 13th, 2016 at 6:44 pm
I was disappointed in both candidates. Very much with both choices. I stood in the voting booth for 5 minutes looking at the ballot. I knew I couldn’t vote for either so I protested by leaving the presidential vote blank. I completed my ballot thoughtfully for every other candidate. Being said, Trump is my president just like Obama was my president and I supported neither. Truthfully I’ve had severe issues with Every candidate since Clinton’s first election. But this is our system, this is the greatest nation in the world. I realize that ME was 14 when Obama was elected. An African-American has been president for 8 years. My honest question, why are so many so concerned with the direction of this country regarding to race? Not saying we are perfect or that we don’t have progress to still make, we do. But Rodney King, had this figured out. Beaten by a group of despicable white policemen he summoned the insight to try to calm rioters by pleading, “People, can we all get along? Can we get along?” That’s my inspiration.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:44 pm
@celly, that wasnt me who burned me13’s jersey, so go back and check…..but I’ll answer as if I had.
Its a matter of principle. As many here have posted. There were numerous lives sacrificed in order for our country to be where it is today. He and many others who decide to do this disrespect those who sacrificed, and the families and friends of those who sacrificed. He benefits from his talent because this country is where it is. His talent and the popularity of his job commands big bucks. By doing this, he shows NO APPRECIATION for that opportunity he’s benefiting from. On his own time and dime, yes, express how he wants as long as its peaceful. But those choosing to kneel are doing it on the Team’s time and dime, and on the fan’s time and dime! Not cool at all. And as many have already started doing, we can tune out and watch your ratings go down the drain with your money!
November 13th, 2016 at 6:45 pm
Speaking for Pablo
“The election was great for Pablo’s business…..Both sides are coming out to see Pablo dance…….one is celebrating and the other is in misery but Pablo lifts their spirits. Pablo loves America”
November 13th, 2016 at 6:46 pm
I haven’t read any of your posts. I usually just skip over your ignorant comments. So no I was not speaking about you specifically.
Facts get in the way of what? You’re not making any sense. I’m done with addressing you in particular. You can continue with your rant minus Scurvy Dogs.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:47 pm
celly,
Respectfully, your cousin is not representative of the collective stance/opinion of all veterans, no matter what percentage of vets you know that conform to this opinion. In all groups, there will be disagreements and opposite views, but your insistence that “veterans have no problem with this” is much farther from the truth than you realize.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:48 pm
it took Tampa Bay a while to warm to Evans…now he does something so disrespectful and foolish….the flag, the anthem are symbols of our freedom to vote not an assurance that the person voted for will win…I’m not sure he’ll be able to recover from this if he continues. A PR person needs to talk with him.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:49 pm
Celly you talked to 1 person. That by no means, sums up our entire military. And even if it did, normal citizens who love our country have a right to feel like every man/woman who has died for that flag is being disrespected by kneeling during our anthem. If Mike wants his opinion to be known then go protest with the others out on the street. When you do it during a game in front of the world, you are going to anger to get a lot of opinions and criticism from patriots.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:50 pm
Mike Evans can do whatever he chooses but id like to know if he voted or is he just another snowflake that talks ignorant BS but doesnt do his civic duty to try and fix any wrongs he feels are going on in Florida or the US. I think Mike Evans is only 23 just got married and will probably have kids one day and im guessing his views on social issues will evolve. Winston Churchill said any man under 30 that is not a liberal has no heart and any man over 30 and is a liberal has no brain.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:52 pm
Sitting during the anthem doesn’t bring social change. Getting in your community’s and schools does. Sitting during the National Anthem
Shows a great disrespect for the USA. We will always have social issues but we don’t refuse to honor our country. One has nothing to do with the other. Poor choice Mike bad look on such a great day of Veterans appreciation.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:53 pm
Let me repost for you 1 more time scurvy. Try to read slowly what you said
“This entire thread is stupid and anyone who is angry is either stupid, racist or both.”
——-
Do you get it yet? “Anyone that is angry” (I am angry so I am included) is either stupid, racist or both”
I guess you need to name me specifically for me to be able to respond? But since you didnt name anyone specifically I guess you dont want anyone to respond so you can sound like a tough guy. Go head and continue your name calling now….
November 13th, 2016 at 6:55 pm
Agree or disagree with Mike’s views regarding the election, his exercising his constitutionally guaranteed right of free speech MUST be respected.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:55 pm
I am a UK basketball fan. Coach Cal told our players that they were free to take a stand as long as they have educated themselves fully on what they fight for AND they are active in the community to also stand against what they fight for. If Mike Evans is doing this, I have zero problem with this. If he is pulling a Kap and not voting, not giving back to the community and practicing what he preaches, he deserves all the backlash he gets. Just like Cal said, you’re free to do this, however ppl are free to not like you for it as well. Know that in doing this, you will lose fans, you will offend ppl, and you will gather support from others. Be willing to accept that. Stop the hatred everyone. If you are not tolerant of others thoughts, you will never grow as a person or open your mind up to new ideas or beliefs. That is what makes one ignorant.
November 13th, 2016 at 6:57 pm
Still yelping lol
November 13th, 2016 at 6:57 pm
Still the best player on the team and a top 5 wr in the league
November 13th, 2016 at 6:58 pm
America is so much bigger than your little opinions, which u have a right to, but maybe Donald will be better than Obama and make yall stand. Then if u dont we will let u move or go to jail. How about that? I stand for respect of the” land of the free ” and the “home of the brave”. Idk tell me if im wrong. We still have freedom and our military is still brave enough to die for dumb people like you Mike!! I understand all the Trump haters are mad that things didnt go your way but hey, thats life….sorry. Every American should ….no has to stand out of respect for OUR country. If u dont want to then sit your butt on a plane and fly away from here. C YA!! Hey Mike and all of u that dont agree, go play and watch football in Canada where Rosie and Whoopie can join u. That would be great for America actually, to get all of u who dont wanna stand for MY AMERICA out of here…. Screw all of yall!! Sing the national anthem to yourself and understand its meaning idiots. Mike just did the most disrespectful thing he could of done and he hasnt earned any from me….AT ALL. Forget this dude!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:00 pm
I see you have conceeded to me like Hillary to Trump!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:01 pm
Republicans AND Democrats are responsible for Trump winning the White House. Republican voters chose Trump and Democratic voters chose the one person that Trump could beat. Most of the people that I know voted for Trump had one of two reasons why…they either hate Hillary or like Trump because he’s not a politician. Most of my non-white friends even voted for Trump because they felt Obama and the democrats didn’t do enough for the inner cities. Bottom line is that most of the people I know wanted someone who is an outsider. They will learn soon enough that Trump will quickly blend into the system and be one of them. I didn’t vote for either, so my conscience is clean.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:01 pm
Get rid of him immediately we don’t need people like him or want people like him around i will not watch another bucs game until he is gone.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
I voted for Trump, idiot. And America is already great. If you’ve ever been outside of this country and fought for it like I have, you would know that.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
Hopefully ME voted? Or else why is he protesting the president elect?
November 13th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
Sad to see Mike Evans being so immature. He’s a supreme talent but he has some growing up to do. The protests to a man that hasn’t even taken office now is beyond ridiculous. Grow up people. You should be protesting the lack of respect for authority and fellow citizens. Go make a difference in the needed communities and stand the eff up.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
COUCH FAN FOR THE WIN
November 13th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
I lost a lot of respect for Mike today, as a person. I am hopeful that it will not impact his or any other teammates play.

Why is it important to now come together as a country because T-RUMP is now president, when the last eight years the same folks saying come together are the are some of the same ones who created the divisiveness in the first place. Now, its about, why can’t we all get along.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:05 pm
Wrong Celly. Have you asked veterans like me how we feel about it. So, because veterans aren’t rioting you somehow think that we aren’t offended. You damn right I’m offended and sitting during the Anthem does nothing to address the issues we have regardless of which side of the fence you are on. Like I said in my previous post, stop protesting and start educating the youth and making a difference in their lives.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:06 pm
If you’re going to say I conceded, at least spell it correctly. Yo win *eye roll*. I CONCEDE!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:07 pm
OMG, really? He sat during the anthem? This changes……. nothing.
Seriously though. Besides the obvious disrespect to the flag and our country, what does he expect to accomplish by sitting for our national anthem?
It would probably have a little more pull if it hadnt been played out by all the other babies in football pads that have choosen this method as their grand gesture to potest or bring awareness to something out of their control.
How about you whiners find another way to vent your disappointments than to leave a dirty mark on something so beloved by so many.

Go Bucs
November 13th, 2016 at 7:08 pm
You clowns who are all upset about this are funny.Getting all jn an uproar about a man excercising his right. What’s it doing to you? Some have brought up the sacrifice of the military. So what it’s their job besides 99.99% of military personel never do a thing to protect our rights. They don’t think about patriotism just about what time they’re getting off and their next payday. It’s just a job. I personally seen it for myself. Most of you who cry about this have never or will never don a military uniform so you should shut up and stop the blood clot crying!

Couch Fan Says:
“And even if it did, normal citizens who love our country have a right to feel like every man/woman who has died for that flag is being disrespected by kneeling during our anthem.”
Sure, “normal citizens”(ignorant statement) have a right to feel disrespected. Those same citizens also have a right to not feel disrespected. They can or cannot feel that way. That is what us veterans fought for.
“If Mike wants his opinion to be known then go protest with the others out on the street. When you do it during a game in front of the world, you are going to anger to get a lot of opinions and criticism from patriots.”
Why should he not use his position? He earned it. I do not hate him. In fact, if I could I would have knelled with him. Trump supporters cannot act as if the past year has not occur. Your hero has said some crazy crap and suggested some crazy things. He needs to own it as do his voters. This stuff is not going away. I and many many others will not let it.

November 13th, 2016 at 7:14 pm
Can we agree on this?
Our anger is better placed at the 43% of eligible voters who didn’t vote than at each other.
FYI Colin Kaepernick was among them.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:15 pm
Somebody please explain to me why disagreeing with Evans stance makes you a racist. You cant just pull the race card here. There are too many factors.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:16 pm
Couch lol!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:19 pm
Yeah and kapernick is good at sitting during the anthem too….and he didnt even vote. He sat bc of the police brutality. Which, may I remind u, has nothing to do w why we stand either…..SMH HES AN IDIOT TOO
November 13th, 2016 at 7:19 pm
An American exercises their 1st amendment right is news why? Good for you Mike! I voted from Trump.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:20 pm
So when Obama won why did you see people protesting..
It was what happened and it was excepted
But Hillary supporters riot and now sit during the National Anthem..Don’t practice what you preach..Open Mind..Let others believe what they want to and live how they want to.
By the way Evans what does the Athens have to do with Trump?
If you don’t like how the country operates then LEAVE.. It’s a free country.THANK YOU VETERANS FOR THAT.

“He’s just waving the confederate flag because he wants to display pride in his southern heritage. It has nothing to do with slavery or racism.”
You see, Mr. Evans, how sometimes you can’t take one action without communicating something else, you idiot?
November 13th, 2016 at 7:20 pm
“Somebody please explain to me why disagreeing with Evans stance makes you a racist. You cant just pull the race card here. There are too many factors.”
It does not make you racist! We are now accustomed to labels. The are very efffective political tools. See Ben Affleck and Sam Harris on Bill Maher. It is meant to demean and halt conversation while at the same time switching the topic why you are or are not the label. It is meant to discredit you and halt the conversations. Think of labels as an attempted mic drop.

I am a long time club seat ticket holder, since the Ray Jay genesis. Mr. Evans I will always support the Bucs but I will not renew my tix as long as your ignorant display persists. You are a great offensive asset to our team but you are incredibly disrespectful to so many. You say you aren’t political? You are ignorant and I actually feel sorry for you. Grow up!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:26 pm

P.S. Yall aint changing nothing!! It’s done son!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:34 pm
Ummm… people it’s called the National Anthem not the Military Anthem. I am veteran and I get irritated with people who never served 1 day in the Military who uses us to push their political agenda or their disagreement with someone’s political or social stance. Mike Evans and others are protesting in a peaceful manner but not one of you offended by these players have spewed the same venom against the violent protesters. I guess if you are black you are held to a different standard. I don’t see all these people offended when the cops are killing people. If you don’t understand why these young men are protesting you are part of the problem.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:35 pm
I’m still an Evans fan. He can do what he wants to, even though I don’t agree with the way he went about it. I’m 40 years old and I’ve never seen so much talk about racism than I have over the past year or so. I thought we were past this problem. What every one needs to remember is that the U.S. is the most diverse country on the planet and for the most part we get along with each other, regardless of race. If it seems like no other country is going through what we are, it’s because for the most part, they aren’t. Not because they are better than us, but because they don’t have the same racial diversity. I don’t think things are as bad as the media would tend to make them look.

Also I am interested to know what would have happened had a player protested ither of Obamas elections? Real curious about that.

Disappointed!! Demonstrating respect is much more significant than a demonstration of personal opinion that will have no effect after the fact.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:43 pm
As a veteran I have no issue with ME13 or any other person expressing their constitutional right to protest without government recrimination. Now those of you burning your jersey, enjoy the moment. If you voted for Trump, you voted your conscious, he’s doing the same. By the way, when your wall doesn’t get built and the term limits he promised don’t get inacted and the 25 bazillion jobs he promised don’t appear overnight or ever you’ll know you’ve been duped, and will see why someone else actually won the popular vote. His own party has already stated 90% of his 100 day wish list will not even be discussed. Good luck all, we’re gonna need it.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:46 pm
Man, REALLY????? America….love it or leave it! Take your millions, paid to you by the HARD WORKING AMERICAN CITIZENS, and move to a country where you will show respect for the flag, country, political process and traditions. No one is forcing you to stay in a country you are so displeased with. So ….WHY are you still in The United States of America? You have every right to be upset with the turnout but you have no right to disrespect the flag or the country.

You guys change the rules as we are going along through life. I think a few of you guys need to take a Civics Class… It’s called an election and your candidate didn’t win. Guess what – Half the Nation didn’t want Obama as President, but we put up with his Executive Orders for 8 years. Executive Orders that never went through Congress. Never went to the People of the United States for a vote. Nope. Just King Obama signing into law what he wants.
Read up on Executive Orders and the Federalist Papers. Particularly, Federalist Paper #70 authored by Alexander Hamilton. You might learn something.

I just canceled my sons Mike Evans jersey I bought for him off amazon. Smh
November 13th, 2016 at 7:56 pm
Hey, every veteran has a right to be offended or not be offended by the protests. I find the protests offensive, ignorant and pointless. Noone in this country needs you to sit on your butt to start a conversation about inequities that may or may not exist. The conversation is happening anyway or would happen anyway. I’m not asking for any of these protesters in the NFL to be put in jail. What they are doing is legal and they have a right to do it. I have a right to think of them as idiots. The protests that have turned violent across the country are different. That has turned toxic. Oh, by the way the celebrities that vowed to move to a different country if Trump was elected have changed their tune. A bunch of pampered babies.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:57 pm
Message to these little brats: You need us, not the other way around.
Quit spitting on blue collar white America!
If the truck drivers of this country ever decide to take a few weeks off every liberal enclave will starve to death.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:58 pm
Here is a message to any liberal that frequents here: You crybabies need us more than we need you!
The blue collar, white male drives this country and for decades he thought he had no power.
Wrong.
He has ALL of the power and leverage.
All it would take is for the truck drivers of this country to take a few weeks off and not only will the engine of this country grind to a halt all liberals would starve to death.
If you liberals do not stop this hatred towards the white male you will end up starving yourself to death, both literally and metaphorically.
One more thing liberals, DONALD J. TRUMP!!! Because frak you, that’s why!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:58 pm
@bryan
I respect your opinion, but unlike yours, mine was not personal. Mine was about a player on our team that stated his opinion but was clueless about what he was sitting for! IMO that is ignorant!
November 13th, 2016 at 7:58 pm
I also would like to say that what makes this country great is the right to disagree. For those of us, especially the veterans, that see it the other way around from me, I appreciate you and value your input on this situation and all things Bucs.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:59 pm
I love all this lovefest for the military yet all you voters for trump seem to have no problem with him disrespecting a military family who actually lost a family member on the front lines. You seem to have no problem with trump stating he knows more about ISIS than the generals. That is like me saying I know more about combat than the actual front line soldiers because I play call of duty on the playstation. You have no problem with trump saying that McCain is not a war hero because he got captured. You have a candidate that is a known racist evident by the fact that when blacks would apply to his apartments, he placed a “C” at the top of their application which he settled out of court when his practices was made known. Its funny how you would attack a black man for not standing up for someone who is known for dodging the draft yet you want to call Evans unpatriotic? You want him cut and will never watch another bucs game until he is but you will vote trump for president. You don’t understand why someone would call all of you a racist behind said comments? All of you are jokes just like Evans called trump. Hypocritical snakes.
November 13th, 2016 at 7:59 pm
Yeah buddy I hope youre happy with people sitting during the Anthem that is sung gor the country that you may or may not have fought for but I dont agree w u. Iam not a veteran but I have camily that is. And veterans have their different opinions too. Although I respect yours bc u are a veteran and thats where my concern lies, I dont agree. Honestly, I whole heartedly believe in this country and love our military, and I dont think an avg joe should ever disrespect that flag or our countrys song. Thanks for your service
November 13th, 2016 at 8:00 pm
Evans is replaceable. There are always big receivers coming out of college that want an opportunity. If he keeps this crap up the Bucs can be rid of him after 2018.
As far as I am concerned Winston to Brate is the future of the Bucs offense anyway.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:03 pm
Expect this BLOW UP BIGLY in the coming days. Especially what with Macdill being nearby and it being Veterans day. I am sure all active and retired military will be REALLY happy to voice their opinion on this little punk.
Apparently all of the tattoo ink has gone to his head. For all of the BS with Jerry Jones he has the right idea on this: either you honor the flag or you don’t play for me.
Glazers should do the same but they won’t. Glazers are bigtime donors to the Democratic party and to liberal causes.

November 13th, 2016 at 8:11 pm
Everybody has a right to Express their displeasure with the political processes within the country but when you flat-out disrespect THE SYMBOL OF the country and what it stands for and its traditions by not standing for the National Anthem ….. that tells me that you’re completely unhappy with the country and you’re free to leave so leave
November 13th, 2016 at 8:13 pm
He sits for the anthem. Sit him for those games. Then trade him in the off season.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:13 pm
Watch Evans catch sooooo much hell for this in the coming days that he either apologizes -or- doubles down, gets an attitude and forces the Bucs to have to cut him.
Fine by me if the Bucs fire him. Sure, I don’t like losing but like countless millions, we are also over our infatuation with the dumb jock. Our lives no longer revolve around a sports team.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:13 pm
Let’s keep things in perspective. Mike Evans is a 23-year-old young man. His stated response as to why he sat during the national anthem is equivalent to me believing that the reason an NFL football team either Won a game or Lost a game is because of what the media and analysts say was the reason. In short, Mike just doesn’t know what he is talking about and has apparently believed what the analysts and media have said. This is admittedly a painful lesson for everyone to learn regardless of a persons political views. If anything has been learned about this recent election it is clear that you should not trust the media or political analysts to tell you how to think about what is going on in the country. This just in Mike: they lie and have their own agenda. Do not be so credulous.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:15 pm
@ Pat. That was pretty damn good.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:16 pm
About the only thoughtful football player that has taken stands on social issues is Ben Watson. He doesn’t follow the stupid herd and actually researches things.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:17 pm
BTW: I should not have to say this but in my last comment it should be clear that all sides of the political spectrum lie because of their own agendas.

Boxing up my sons jersey and sending it to him, he can have it.
What size jersey is it? I’ll take it.
You know why? Cause whether I agree with him or not, his choices have NO bearing on my everyday life. As a matter of fact, as long as he makes plays on Sundays and helps the Bucs win, that’s just about the only thing I need him to do.
— @Celly – it’s for a 5 year old. I just celebrated Veterans Day with My dad and my son (Dad took a bullet for this country in Vietnam) and now Evans doesn’t want to stand for the Anthem because he’s unhappy with the way America voted?? Okay I guess he has that right. But I also have the right to send it to him to let him know how disappointed in him I am.
What is the end game here? Will he stand when Trump resigns? Does he start standing if Trump loses a re-election bid in 4 years? Who knows. There is no end game. Evans not understanding the American democratic election process has nothing to do with the National Anthem. I couldn’t care less who you or Evans wanted for President. But not standing for the National Anthem does bother me and I have the right to not what his garbage jersey in my house.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:19 pm
I really don’t care if he takes a knee for the anthem or not. Personally I think it’s a dumb way to protest, but it’s his right. Why does everyone in this world care so much about what other people think? Not everyone has to agree with your morals. If your panties get that much in a wad about someone taking a knee, then you must be an emotional roller coaster in everything else in your life. Buy his jersey, don’t buy his jersey, whatever. Nobody cares. He doesn’t care, I don’t care. You aren’t taking some honorable stand by not buying or keeping his jersey. I’m pretty sure he’s not logging into his Chase account tonight to check how many people bought his jersey, to which he gets like $.50. You not liking him or buying his jersey is as irrelevant as him not standing for the national anthem.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:19 pm

November 13th, 2016 at 8:20 pm
@Pat
Understand your point but you do not have to be able to split an atom to be offended or upset by the words Trump has used. Nor do you have to be dupped by the media. Stephen White, who is brilliant, has been letting stuff fly on twitter and he has not been conned by the media, imho.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:20 pm
Look guys, who the actual hell cares? He’s our best player on the team currently, and he sat down to protest a reality TV star becoming the most powerful man on Earth. He made a statement declaring he was not disrespecting the troops. All you nationalistic assholes on here need to calm down. He has the right to do what he wants. And Joe, shame on you for milking this for web trafic
November 13th, 2016 at 8:20 pm

November 13th, 2016 at 8:22 pm
I went to many sporting events with my father who was a WW 2 veteran, I wouldn’t even dream of not standing for the anthem, the consequences would have been too severe. Those were different times. A lot of NFL players grew up with no father in their household much less any military veterans. Not sure what Mike Evans’s family background is, and I’m not an apologist for his behaviour, but maybe an overview of this whole “Kapernick” controversy needs to be looked into. GO BUCS
November 13th, 2016 at 8:22 pm
I am ex USAF and have been so happy no Bucs have done this idiotic protest.
To do this, because you didn’t get your way in an election, in a military town, on Veterans Day weekend….
the Glazers need to come out tomorrow and DEMAND that all members of the Bucs are stand and show done damn respect for what the flag and anthem represent. If they don’t, MASSIVE and bench them.
Every team has the power to do that and so does the NFL as a whole.
Letting these idiots continue to do this is killing the ratings. Goodel is an idiot for claiming it has nothing to do with the ratings.

I was at RayJay today. The military chorus did a great performance of the national anthem, and we had a flyover of two T-38’s. I would have stood for the anthem no matter who won the election. I didn’t even notice Evans. Let him do what he wants. We had an election, and Trump won. That’s democracy. What would Evans have us do? Change the results? It doesn’t work that way.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:29 pm
Evans is 23 years old. You just can’t expect every 23 year old millionaire athlete to grasp and understand what the national anthem really stands for. Hell, I’m almost 40 and I don’t really completely understand what it stands for. I do know this – him standing or not standing for the anthem has little to no correlation to the type of person he is. There are horrible people that stand for the anthem, and there are good people that take a knee. Just because you stand for an anthem and he doesn’t doesn’t make you better than him.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:29 pm
This D-bag probably didn’t even vote… Gotta hate the guys that run their mouth and then do nothing about it! Hey Evans, go out and Vote if you want to make a difference, don’t sit and protest during a game that’s saluting Veterans Day.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:30 pm
what the hell is the alt-right’s obsession with the word cuck?
November 13th, 2016 at 8:30 pm
I support Mike Evans. #NotMyPresident
November 13th, 2016 at 8:31 pm
[…] According to JoeBucsFan.com, Evans has no goal of station for a inhabitant anthem for a residue of this season. Evans also pronounced that he doesn’t follow politics all that much, though his “common sense” lets him know that a Trump presidency is “not right.” […]
November 13th, 2016 at 8:32 pm
You know what i did when Obama won ? I got my butt out of bed and went to work. I went on with my life and tried to better myself.
Spoiled little beta cucks with low t-cell counts that worship the dumb jock like a god are the primary reason social security won’t be there when I retire.
This is the problem – a bunch of spoiled, whiny, pansy, sissies who got trophies for not accomplishing anything and when they are told NO they scream and cry like 5 year olds. This is why the country has become such a joke – not because of who got elected, but b/c of the future of this country is in the hands of a bunch of sissies with no balls, no spine, no pride, no testosterone, no masculinity, etc…
November 13th, 2016 at 8:33 pm
I told myself if someone sits on this team I’m done!!! Thank You NFL and Mike.E you can go get A$$ pounded by Kapernick…People these days in. this country r a bunch of Winnie pu$$y..
November 13th, 2016 at 8:33 pm
@BuccaneerByBirth
It is a demonstration of their perceived masculinity. It demonstrates 2 things. Their intellect and that evolution is in fact true. It is likely to also signal penis envy.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:34 pm
Its disrespectful and I’ve completely lost respect for him and doing it during a day where they are saluting the military. Screw you Mike
November 13th, 2016 at 8:38 pm
@bryan
Classy, thanks! As I said I respect the opportunity to offer ones opinion and stance.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:39 pm
And on salute to Veterans Day!!! Way to go Evans. I salute you sir…with my middle finger
November 13th, 2016 at 8:39 pm
Exercising your your FIRST AMENDMENT constitutional rights as an American citizen does not make you a “winnie Pu$$y” any more than owning a handgun does.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:39 pm
This Hillary ass kisser is dead to me
We can go 6-10 with or without him to be honest.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:40 pm
It has to do with pride – pride in the heart. Pride in your soul. It has nothing to do with how muscular or “macho” you think you are. Have some pride in yourself and quit your infatuation with penises and the male jock athlete.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:40 pm
It’s a sure sign of a degenerate mind when, in response to protest, one starts calling the other a pu$$y, questions their manhood, etc… This is the kind of blockheaded nonsense that gives us sh!t like #FoekfaceVonClownstick.
I am with Mike Evans 100%. The #ScreamingCheeto will never be my president. Not now, not ever. #NotMyPresident
November 13th, 2016 at 8:41 pm
It might be your 1st amendment right to cuss out your boss but dang it your getting fired nonetheless.
That is exactly what he did today. He gave a proverbial middle finger to the boss (the ever dwindling fan base).
November 13th, 2016 at 8:42 pm
Artemis, thank god amendment 2 passed cuz you need some weed in your life. You straight crazy
November 13th, 2016 at 8:43 pm
If more of the team does this mess…. I will call it quits. I’ve been a fan for over 25 years ….since I was a kid. It would be tough but my values and care for the country supersedes watching the bucs.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:43 pm
Then scream about it. I beg you to. I beg you to go out in the streets and scream like a baby. It will ensure Trump wins Minnesota, NH, Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, and NM in four years.
Please continue to act out like a bad “B” movie from the old days…
November 13th, 2016 at 8:44 pm
I think the point of the national anthem is to show respect and UNITY of the people of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. to not show respect to the flag is to show no respect to all AMERICANS. that said, I believe protesting is a very good and powerful way to make your point, although I think inappropriate to do when at this small moment in time we should be showing our unity. I believe that the Black lives matter protest is a good cause, although I think it should be all lives matter.bad police are bad police.I think if we would all stick together and maybe everybody took a knee BEFORE or AFTER the anthem it would show how much we do care and be a better way to show that we have the same agenda and maybe some change will be made.as for just not standing to show your displeasure with an elected official, I think that is in poor taste. just my opinion, which we all are allowed to have our own opinion in this Great countryt of ours.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:44 pm
No. No weed. I don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs. I don’t even drink soda. I don’t poison myself with that garbage.
Unlike you my brain is a finely tuned piano, not an off the rack banjo.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:44 pm
@BUC IT, you would stop rooting for a team because a couple players don’t stand for the compulsory national song? Dude, thats being waaaaay too overly sensitive.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:45 pm
@ BUC IT – I have given up on ALL football except the Bucs. At this rate I may end up having my Sundays 100% free.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:45 pm
@Brian
Your IQ is showing,
November 13th, 2016 at 8:47 pm
Bunch of racists hypocrites! 75% of you and over 80% of you hypocrites never served your country like many of the racists citizens of this country.
Mike has a right to sit and he’s not in the media causing attention. Just like people are protesting. People are over the good ole boy crap.
Football is football and politics are politics. He as a citizen does NOT have to stand for the anthem. I probably wouldn’t either and I fought in Iraq. This country is a mess and you hypocrites are the reason. Unarmed minorities dying in the street, Muslims being profiled, hispanics being berated for wanting more for their families, and the person you claim will fix America takes your backroom feeling and feeds you what you want to hear to run for president.
And you criticize Evans?!!?!?!
God will be the judge in the end and the same folks that claim to love God but can’t even love others – if that offends you then that’s probably you.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:49 pm
Protests are not only protected, but are morally justifiable when the idiots in this country elect a pu$$y-grabbing, climate-denying, compulsive-lying, twitter-trolling nazi. Most Americans do not support him. Ya know who does? The KKK. Coincidence? I don’t think so. #NotMyPresident
November 13th, 2016 at 8:50 pm
Well said Hawaiian……
November 13th, 2016 at 8:52 pm
@Bucby birth
Look at the big picture, it’s not just a compulsory national song….you are too young, you just don’t get it. Is there anything YOU stand for, believe in? If there is is sure is not this country! I truly feel sorry for you. YOU just don’t get it
November 13th, 2016 at 8:53 pm
Clinton called a KKK grand dragon her “mentor”.
In addition, Clinton got a kiddie molester off on the charges and then laughed about it. Not to mention ole’ Bill has been accused of assault by over a dozen women, one of which was examined by a nurse who agreed that she had the physical signs of being assaulted.
I don’t want to hear anything more about Trump making a dirty joke about grabbing the cat.
Check and mate.
November 13th, 2016 at 8:59 pm
I’ll start by saying I’m a white man, college educated, veteran of the first gulf war, who voted for Trump.
The democrats claiming all Trump supporters are racist is just not true. All you have to do is look at the voter demographic to see why it turned out like it did.
1. Voter turnout from the black community was down verses Obama’s elections.
2. More Hispanics voted for Trump verses Obama.
3. More women voted for Trump verses Obama.
4. The white male vote in the five states that Trump turned: Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, & Wisconsin, who in large part where for Obama , voted Trump.
It doesn’t take a political science degree to see that many many people, other than white males, rejected Obama’s presidency and Hillary’s platform. The Democratic Party lost because they pushed a deeply flawed candidate and thank God that enough people from their own party saw through the BS or didn’t vote at all.
But it’s far too easy, and serves to divide this country, to call Trump supporters racist, than do the research to see what happened.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:00 pm
@Artemis Rand
Not check and mate. As always the truth is not that simple. Her mentor was a repentant former KKK member in his youth and who was contrite in his later years. Bill has never been convicted and your one alleged victim was settled out of court perhaps because he was a sitting president. It is also important to know that only the attorney bills were paid. She received nothing. He is clearly an adulterer. But with your choice spare us your moral outrage.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:00 pm
Salish, just like I said whiny pu$$y this is a web site about a NFL team not politics..
November 13th, 2016 at 9:02 pm
@Bd
Well said. I respect Black Lives Matter! And yes it is BAD COPS that create this sh…and show us otherwise. You are ABSOLUTELY correct when you talk of the unity expressed when we come together in UNISON for our National Anthem.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:02 pm
So sad. Man plays a game that makes him a millionaire and he pisses all over it. If he did not have football, he would not have this stage. He should not use football as his stage. You know the worst part Joe? He has made you his puppet if you ever write about it again.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:03 pm
Let’s leave each of our opinions of whether it’s respectful or not out of this for a second.
This is Mike taking a stand by himself, “without speaking to coaches or teammates” that only serves as a distraction. It’s only something else that takes away from the sole goal every Sunday: winning
Boo to you Mike Evans. A selfish move for a team that’s digging for culture and identity.
Only smart move from here is to stand next Sunday, and apologize for today.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:03 pm
If you’re willing to stop watching the Bucs because one guy gets on a knee before the game, then you’re probably the same fan that gets up and walks up and down the aisle, blocking my view. Get over yourself. Stop watching. Go watch baseball. You disagree with one guy out of an organization of hundreds of people, and you “protest” as a result? LMAO. What a fool. You aren’t proving anything, and nobody will miss you. I promise you no one in Raymond James will be saying, “man, this game isn’t as great because fan x isn’t here”. You aren’t a tough guy, you aren’t noble, you aren’t someone anyone will miss. All you are doing is missing out on the best sport in the world because someone you don’t know won’t stand for a song. It’s also funny that the stadium is full of veterans. I don’t see any of them boycotting the Bucs. But leave it to some sour little girl to take a stand – because of someone else taking a knee.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:03 pm
He’s mad that the party who freed the slaves won? But he has common sense, like he said…
November 13th, 2016 at 9:04 pm
Funny how you never see hockey players being disrespectful, football is a dying sport
November 13th, 2016 at 9:04 pm
Thanks Mike for pulling us all into this debate… smh
November 13th, 2016 at 9:05 pm
As a Texas Aggie, and veteran,
I resent this thug claiming to be a Texas Aggie. True Aggies are patriots, and despise anyone who insults the United States, and claims to be an Aggie. I hope that patriotic players will kick his butt, and grind him into the ground. If he still has an Aggie ring, he is insulting true Aggies if he is wearing it.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:05 pm
Salish – You would much have a Bengazi screw up, top secret sieve, pay for play Secretary of State, (States right in the Constitution – DO NOT accept foreign money), White water, travel gate…I could go on and on, as president ?. Can we get a round 1 pick if we trade him ? … God, I hope so. The NFL is losing fans because of this crap ! If you want to protest…DO it on your own time ! Not your employers !
November 13th, 2016 at 9:08 pm
Worst thing about it,we’re talking about “this” instead of a Bucs home victory! Evans made it all a out him, instead of the team, which is what football should be about!
November 13th, 2016 at 9:08 pm
He’s a punk and I’m done with him ! Trade him this off season.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:09 pm
“whiny pu$$y”
Nice. very intelligent.
This is a thread about Mike Evans sitting out the national anthem as a protest about the #FascistAssclown. I am responding in support of Evans. I’m sorry that some of you are too thickheaded to understand why these protests are happening and why so many think that #DumpsterFireDon is a horrible, dangerous choice. The protests are going to get louder and louder.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:09 pm
Mike you are a low life that don’t respect anything and anybody.
Trump won because there are ppl like you out there.
I hope you follow the footsteps of another Mike and soon be out of NFL
That way you will ask for free stuff like the ppl you are protesting for.
Get the F*** out of Tampa. I am sure even Jamies doesn’t respect you anymore.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:09 pm
“So sad. Man plays a game that makes him a millionaire and he pisses all over it. If he did not have football, he would not have this stage. He should not use football as his stage. You know the worst part Joe? He has made you his puppet if you ever write about it again.”
———
First of all, how is he pissing all over it? Because he doesn’t stand? Think for a second how stupid that sounds. What about the people that disrespect this country by committing crimes, but stand for the anthem? Is Evans hurting you? Is he causing harm to anyone? Is he being violent? Is he being vulgar? Just like if you don’t like a TV show, if you don’t like it, don’t watch. It’s really not that complicated.
Second, how do you know if he didn’t have football he wouldn’t have this stage? Maybe he would be a famous actor, or a big time doctor or lawyer. Who knows? Seems to me like you are selling him short as a person, and saying he’s only good at football. How do you know that? Is it because of how he looks?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:10 pm
You protest all you want sir. No more free food for all the parasites out there.
America has spoken and we are tired of feeding you leaches.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:11 pm
Evans you stupid worthless piece of trash. I’ve always liked you and now you do something as dumb as this when they’re doing a Veterans day tribute on top of it. You need to have your rear end kicked up and the down the street by Winston for taking what was a good day and making it all about you and your 3rd grade education. Next game, if anyone is even there, prepared to be booed out the building you dumb kuck.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:13 pm
I saw a guy in 308 who didn’t take off his hat during the anthem. I was thoroughly offended. That guy is a piece of trash, and he should be deported to Mexico immediately. From the fact he didn’t remove his hat, I can conclude that he hates America, is a terrorist, hates the military, and is less than a man. I’m so sick to my stomach right now, I don’t think I can ever look in section 308 again.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:17 pm
Hawaiian.. go away.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:19 pm
“Evans you stupid worthless piece of trash.”
——-
Wow. So you are willing to call someone a piece of trash for taking a knee? So you don’t care if he does charity work? Nothing else he does matters, because you are going to judge his worth over taking a knee for a song you don’t even know the words for?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:19 pm
Hawaiian Kuc – Years ago I went to a game and during the national anthem some piece of trash decided instead of standing there like you’re supposed, he decided he’d use that time to cut in front of me (at my seat standing) to get to his seat. So when he went to go by me I said show some respect you f fa–ot, and if he didn’t I’d have kicked his as% on the spot.
PC is dead kuc, Trump is president now, and things will change.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:19 pm
@mike10,
Or what? You going to not read my posts?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:20 pm
He’s protesting what, exactly? That he didn’t get his way? That half the country doesn’t see things as he does. At first, this story pissed me off. Now, I just feel sorry for Mike and his ignorance of the democratic process and life in general. I was surprised that this issue hadn’t come to the Bucs yet. I’m not surprised that it is coming from our leading narcissist. On the bright side, the Bucs are receiving some national attention.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:21 pm
If u don’t have anything logical to contribute, don’t say anything at all…
November 13th, 2016 at 9:21 pm
Rod munch, getting a little too worked up over a national song….calm down
November 13th, 2016 at 9:22 pm
Liberals lost every branch of government & we have all the guns.
If you want to bring politics into everything, then you’re not going to like the results.
PC is dead kucs.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:23 pm
Hey Rod Munch,
November 13th, 2016 at 9:23 pm
@Rod Munch,
Here’s my suggestion: Wait by West Club after the game. Evans will come out. While he’s signing autographs and taking pictures with fans, tell him how you feel.
Why does someone “not showing respect” bother you so much? Why do you care about someone you don’t know so much? If it’s a family member or friend, then do what you got to do. But some person you have no connection with? Who cares? I see stupid people every day. I see classless people all the time. I don’t pay them any mind. That’s their life. I don’t even think twice about them. Worry about you and yours.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:24 pm
@ Rod Munch – come join us at god like productions. You would like it there.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:24 pm
Fun fact: According to the last major study on the issue as published in The Bell Curve, blacks in the US have an average IQ of 85.
I’m taking the under with Evans.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:25 pm
Exactly Scott… what’s he protesting? The democratic process, one of the greatest freedoms that make our country great? It doesn’t even make sense…. at least kaepernick was protesting to raise awareness to something w a cause…
… I can’t believe I just cited Kaepernick and his “cause”. You see Mike, you’re making everyone dumber
November 13th, 2016 at 9:25 pm
Let’s bring politics into everything yo!
Fun fact: Blacks commit over half of all murders in US and nearly half of all violent crime despite being just 13% of the population.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:26 pm
Hawaiian is not as simple as a stupid tv show.
You respect th national anthem. ppl of the entire world respect each other’s anthem but our lowlife entitled morons don’t respect their own????
Shame shame on all of you that support this decision. I hope NFL takes action and tell them to protest on their own time.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:26 pm
When Obama won in 2008 I was so upset I went and sat in my neighbor’s driveway.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:29 pm
Hey man Evans has every right to do whatever he wants – he doesn’t have to stand or show respect to the veterans when they’re saluting the veterans for veterans day. Nope he can sit there if he chooses to, and he can also deal with the fallout for having the IQ of a tomato. This moron will now go from being someone the fans liked, not loved but liked, to instantly being the most hated person on the team. Good job dummy.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:29 pm
The NFL commissioner and owners don’t want to touch this with a ten foot pole…..but if ratings continue to slide they might have to…..what’s next, maybe a stipulation in all future player contracts that they must stand for the anthem? Who knows
November 13th, 2016 at 9:32 pm
Damn can’t we all just get along? Although I understand how Mike feels don’t do it today. Salute the people who protect us! God Bless America! Go Bucs! We won!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 9:32 pm
Evans isn’t a Buc, he’s a cuck.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:32 pm
Coming from someone in the military right now, I could care less if someone sits, kneels, stands, lays down or whatever.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:33 pm
Or those of you who do not think this is a big deal —
It is.
The NFL ratings are down for various reasons, but this is a big reason why.
It alienates fans. It disrespects vets. It’s shameful to current military members serving overseas. The anthem and flag have nothing to do with a few bad, rogue cops. It has nothing to do with a handful of criminal thugs threatening cops. It definitely has nothing to do with the horrible way the media has perpetuated the situation with bad reporting, by never giving the cop the benefit of the doubt and automatically assuming the worse. Most these instances have proven to be bad criminals and cop doing their job and acting in self defense.
In the case of EVANS, he claims it’s because Trump was elected.
That’s just plain idiotic and ignorant. All these protest are unbelievable to me.
People in this country are actually protesting because they didn’t get their way.
That is called being a whiny biotch.
The intolerance and ignorance of the hypocritical left is unreal to me.
Anyway, This needs to happen :
GLAZERS need to say no more or massive fines. Jerry jones and a couple other owners did and the fans appreciate it. Go to a rally and protest whatever you want on your own time.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:33 pm
Rod munch and Artemis rand- perfect examples of your typical, classless, racist, alt-right b!tches with little d!ck syndrome. Just like their fuher trump.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:35 pm
“Coming from someone in the military right now, I could care less if someone sits, kneels, stands, lays down or whatever.”
———
Mic drop right there. Everyone drive home safely.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:35 pm
Thank you miles, flmike, and buctheworld.
You are like most of my vet friends- who also hate that 1 side constantly uses the military as their crutch to moral superiority, while brainless dolts eat it up.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:36 pm
Artemis Rand and Rod Munch are hilarious. Two simple minded men who don’t even understand they’re lesser than’s. Good luck making America white again, and good luck to Mike Evans and the Bucs
November 13th, 2016 at 9:36 pm
Evans is a moron. What exactly is his “protest” going to accomplish? There was a national election and Trump won. I didn’t vote for Trump either but he is now our next president. Deal with it. And for all you people calling the Trump voters racist, you should be looking in the mirror at yourselfs and see your own bigotry. Start worry about being a good person and stop being all consumed with the color of your skin or anyone else’s. How about trying to be simply an American with no other prefixes. Be like Jameis and not like Mike.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:36 pm
Unbelievable, you understand talkin like that makes everything worse right?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:37 pm
Hey Evans, you should be running, you know because Trump is LITERALLY Hitler and now he knows who you are. I feel sorry for the cucks on here siding with him, you need to flee to Mexico now before the wall is built – cause if not it’s off to the ovens you go.
I’ll pray for you cucks.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:38 pm
Hey, Mikey, look in a mirror to find the racist.
How far did you get in school? Third grade?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:39 pm
Here’s a fun fact… if Planned Parenthood hadn’t have killed millions of black babies, the old white woman would have won and you could have the Driving Miss Daisy world you long for.
With that said I fully support PP.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:41 pm
Props to Evans.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:42 pm
For what micro?
November 13th, 2016 at 9:43 pm
Who cares what he does, it’s his protest, not ours. Whether whatever he’s trying to accomplish works or not, he has the right to do what he doing
November 13th, 2016 at 9:43 pm
Rod have you lost it? I like the drinks but damn son relax.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:43 pm
Mike10, I’m not attacking someone for having a different opinion or viewpoint. This is America and difference of opinion is part of what makes this country. I’m not calling someone names just cuz they supported trump
But I won’t attempt a civil discussion with someone who is a blatant alt-right racist. They get no respect. No benefit of the doubt.
And rod much is clearly a bigoted, alt-right racist dipsh!t. So f@ck him and Artemis rand.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:45 pm
Mike10, I’m not attacking someone for having a different opinion or viewpoint. This is America and difference of opinion is part of what makes this country. I’m not calling someone names just cuz they supported trump
But I won’t attempt a civil discussion with someone who is a blatant alt-right racist. They get no respect. No benefit of the doubt. Fck ppl like that.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:45 pm
Anyone that is really upset with Evans, I just want to point out that puts you on the same side as Rod Munch. Read his last few posts and let me know if that’s a side you want to be associated with.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:45 pm
Mike Evans is a star wide receiver and millionaire. Life is good for him.
People arguing in the comments? How good is your life? Let’s work to make our lives better!
November 13th, 2016 at 9:46 pm
Wow………..Just…….Wow!
I am out for a few days. Peace out my friends
November 13th, 2016 at 9:47 pm
The are other ways of protesting without DISRESPECTING the soldiers that payed the ultimate price for this man to have the privileges he has. The Buccaneers inaction of such a disgrace to both of my grandfather’s service to this country is appalling! Inaction on the Buccaneer Organization’s part makes them complicit with this action. I never thought the team that I have supported my whole life would give graces to such a deplorable action.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:49 pm
Did you notice who’s been playing like a hall of famer lately (Evans) and who’s been making really dumb penalties all season? Yeah, Dotson the Trump supporter.
Let’s not talk about intelligence. LOL
November 13th, 2016 at 9:49 pm
I mean…………….I am a Vet. Some of you Phucks wanted us to sign Hardy SOOOO BADLY. But I see some of the same people saying Cut Evans . Stupid is as stupid does

As Coach Red Beaulieu said “Cut his ass”. He is an employee of the Bucs and can be released at any time.
“I am not a political person” so what’s his beef. Learn about the process Evans and quit being so ignorant. You live in this country where you have the right to protest but do it some other way where it will make a difference.
You standing only divides people more as they can’t understand what exactly you are protesting, Much like the people who are walking the streets in LA, New York City and Portland, who exactly are they protesting to? Generally those areas are Democratic so you and they are preaching to your own choir.
The national vote was nearly equal and the if you had read the constitution you could see the how the process works (12th amendment I believe). That same constitution gives you the right to vote and the right to protest, so how did you you know you has that right Mike? Did you just hear it some where Mike? or have you read it?
You should have taken some Political Science classes at A&M and then maybe you you ignorance wouldn’t show Mike.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:51 pm
November 13th, 2016 at 9:52 pm
I cut your DUMBASS from my FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM! GOOD LUCK SCRUB!
November 13th, 2016 at 9:52 pm
Props to Evans for being an idiot.
And of course there are vets that don’t care about the anthem or the flag
Being a vet doesn’t make you smart or a decent human being sometimes ppl just use the military to achieve their own goals.
These ppl have no nationality have no patriotism they don’t know what loving the country means and that you have to sacrifice yourself for your country.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:52 pm
From now on out, before I go to a movie, I’m going to do a background check on all the actors and make sure we have the same core beliefs. I will not give my money to watch a movie that features someone who isn’t lined up with my morals. Before I watch TV, I’m going to make sure I agree with the principles of everyone on. I don’t want to give ratings to someone that has impure beliefs.
Do you see how stupid that sounds? What’s the difference? Football is entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less. We watch the games because we enjoy it. We don’t watch it because we have to. These guys aren’t role models, and if they are your role model, then you’re pretty sad. Worry about yourself, not some athlete who has no clue who you are.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:57 pm
Thank you Webster!
November 13th, 2016 at 9:59 pm
Webster what you and other small minded ppl don’t understand is Trump was the worst choice for everybody but this is not about the person Trump is about the Change. And that’s what I voted for I want a change I don’t want to pay more taxes because certain ppl don’t want to work and they want to live for free.
Ppl think they are entitled to things and benefits guess what if you want smthng you need to work for it. Not just get on tv and social media and ask for it. This method has worked for now but I hope it will stop soon.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:59 pm
Oh He’s gonna lose sleep over that bubba!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:01 pm
Hey cucks, say it with me.
President Trump.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:01 pm
Here Evans take time to learn this, You might need it if you end up in the CFL.
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

When Obama won in 2008 I was so mad I went to Target and sat down in front of the automatic door opener so it wouldn’t shut.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:03 pm
“The are other ways of protesting without DISRESPECTING the soldiers that payed the ultimate price for this man to have the privileges he has.”
———-
Agreed, but why do you conclude he is disrespecting the soldiers? If there are soldiers on this board saying it doesn’t bother them, then why should it bother you? It’s funny, the veterans aren’t the ones complaining. It’s the fans that don’t do spit for this country that have their panties in a wad. You think Rod Munch would serve this country? Do you think he’s donating his money and time to help military causes (cue his response telling a bunch of BS about what he does)?
No matter what anyone says, it is Evans right to kneel for the anthem. It’s only a big deal if you make it a big deal. If everyone would worry about themselves, it wouldn’t even matter. But as soon as you start crying about it, you make things worse. The divide in this country grows. Let him protest. He’s being peaceful. He’s not being vulgar. He’s not hurting anyone. I totally disagree with it, but it doesn’t bother me one little bit.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:03 pm
@Rod Munch
I will say it. President Trump!
#NotMyPresident
November 13th, 2016 at 10:04 pm
Hawaiian Ppl like you are the reason this country is getting ruined.
That attitude of yours which means close your eyes for everything that goes on around you doesn’t solve things just makes them worse like is making this country worse. We need to stop and see what is going on and take action.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:04 pm
You ever notice how all these dumb liberals said of Trump wins they’re going to Canada – and not Mexico?
That’s because they are the true racist. They don’t mind brown people so long as there ain’t too many of them – this the reason they love Planned Parenthood.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:05 pm
Wow.
Never thought I would be on the same side as Hawaiian. Usually sparing over GMC. Proud to serve with you today though!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:05 pm
Hawaiian, I agree. If we only rooted for players who believe what we believe, there would be no NFL. I don’t agree with what he’s doing, but it doesn’t change my mind about how I feel about him. He’s a great player, before today and after, and I hope he scores a TD every time he gets the ball.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:05 pm
Hey Bryan, it doesn’t work that way.
Perhaps if you spent more time reading how the American government orks and less time with your mouth stuck on glory holes you’d know that.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:06 pm
…and what will be the criteria he believes he needs before he stands again? A perfect country? A country free of flaws? he has no end game in mind, just drawing attention to himself, pretty selfish and self-centered…the new American athlete–self absorbed and without intelligence—have you heard him talk? LOL
November 13th, 2016 at 10:06 pm
@Rod Munch
Your use of silly labels does not make your arguments reasonable. I am not going anywhere. I will stay here and lob grenade after grenade.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:07 pm
This is a stupid discussion. Evans isn’t even standing for anything of substance.
He’s just being a sore loser
November 13th, 2016 at 10:08 pm
Bryan when you say you never thought you’d be on the same side was Hawaiian cuck I’m assuming you mean on the same side of the bathroom stall – since normally you two only communicate through the hole drilled in the middle.
Get it dummy? You’re a cuck.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:09 pm
@Pit,
People like me? Lol. It’s good to know that you know me, and what I stand for.
I don’t close my eyes for everything going on around me. I close my eyes for things that aren’t important. Why is Mike Evans kneeling for the anthem important to me, or anyone else? It literally doesn’t affect ANYTHING in my life. Sadly, all it does is get soft people upset over something meaningless. Is Evans a criminal? Is he a terrorist? Does he not pay taxes? Does he hurt people? Is he violent? Is he a deadbeat dad? Is he a racist? Then how exactly is he harming anyone? I’m so confused by some people’s logic. I am genuinely trying to understand, but I guess it’s just another example of why this country is getting ruined.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:09 pm
@Rod Munch
After the last 8 years it absolutely works that way. I would be confident in any debate with you on government. #NotMyPresident means I do not satnd by him. He is president but not mine. Your glory hole statement dignifies you. Shouldn’t you be reading Breitbart?
November 13th, 2016 at 10:10 pm
I will take your cuck label and still stand here saying #Notmypresident.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:11 pm
Evans would have stood if the old rich white woman that supports killing millions of blacks via abortion and who has called blacks super predators – he’d have stood if she won. Lol. Perfect definition of a cuck.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:11 pm
“Bryan when you say you never thought you’d be on the same side was Hawaiian cuck I’m assuming you mean on the same side of the bathroom stall – since normally you two only communicate through the hole drilled in the middle.

———
Yeah, just keep on typing. The more you type, the more of a joke you become. You may think you are being witty, but you are just making a complete fool out of yourself. Keep it coming though.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:12 pm
Just read the 300+ comments and did not read racist comments except from the racists themselves… I wonder if Trump was any race or nationality other than Caucasian if there would be this much made of a man named Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of these United States of America… if it matters I’m an old retired black man who for 32 years served in the military of this great country. A majority of the foolishness going on in this country is from you younger people who don’t deserve the freedoms that many of us for years have put our lives on the line for. My grandson and I was at the game today and when we learned of the thing Mike Evans had done we left. I’ve held season tickets for over 15 years and at this point don’t care to attend another game.. you wanna see change in this country? You be the man or woman that stands to change it with pride, determination, and respect. Makes me sick when I see and read what many are doing to our country. Not Russia,Iran,ISIS, I’m talking about the fools kneeling on sidelines or protesting on the streets of this great country… I’ve had many men my superior over the years I didn’t like too much but not one time did I ever disrespect him. I’ve fought for and stood on the principles that our men and women earned through many losing a leg,or like my best friend for 25 years who I watched as the side of his face was blown off. Like I said I’m an old black man and he is an old grumpy white man. I’d love to sit you young boys down and truely educate you… you may make it on every network in America for kneeling and/or protesting but I promise you in the future you will not be thought of again by the networks and by the people of America. You want attention? You wanna fight? Keep your mouth closed, opinions to your self and go enlist and fight and stand for America the country you fight against and kneel to… kneeling is a symbol of surrender and says I give up… you can kneel on a sideline but I guarantee you if you didn’t stand and respect this country in my platoon we would have taught you how… I got that feeling in my throat when someone really hurts you or like when my son died I got this same feelin when I standing 50 feet from Mike Evans today watched him kneeling… it’s a disgrace to this country and to the leader of the greatest country in the world. All our enemies across the world just watch you foolish kids and see a broken America. If you fall that easy you’ll fall for anything, be the one to stand like a man and make that change the kids in our communties need to see… why today? Why did the Bucs allow him to shame himself and this country? Makes me sick and it hurts
November 13th, 2016 at 10:13 pm
Translation of what Evans said: “Honestly, I haven’t watched one minute of political coverage and have no personal knowledge of anything Trump or Clinton actually said. But people seem to say that Trump is a racist and a bad guy, so I guess I’ll protest that.”
And they wonder why we want more helmet-to-helmet contact…
November 13th, 2016 at 10:14 pm
Dude, you can type “cuck” 100 times. Nobody thinks it’s even remotely witty or funny. You just sound more like an idiot making up words.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:14 pm
Bryan you’d take a lot more than a label I’d give you, you’d take my hot loads too you cuck, well if I’d let you. But hey you never know who is on the other side of the stall, right?
November 13th, 2016 at 10:15 pm
Second that Webster!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:15 pm
Hashtag hashtag.. grow up. Accept the facts, stop being a sore loser
November 13th, 2016 at 10:16 pm
@Rod Munch
I understand you are attempting to bring me to your and your president’s level. Not going to happen.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:16 pm
Damn, Rod. You say Evans has no respect for the Vets, how about showing some respect for the younger Bucs fans on here and stop with the innuendo. You’re not setting a good example. No one on here wants to hear about glory holes. I despise Trump, and you talk just like him. I personally don’t care what anyone says on here, just think about the kids that might be reading, before you type something inappropriate, please.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:18 pm

Hahahahahahahhahaha
Everyone are tough guys behind a IP address.
Too funny.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:19 pm
Bryan the only thing that would bring you to my level would be if you got a testicle implant.
Get it? That means you’re a beta-male cuck who lacks balls.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:19 pm
@NewTampaChris,
You may be correct, but you may not. I wouldn’t say I’m a political person by any means, but I know enough to know that both candidates were horrible. There are things Trump has said and done that are not defendable. Hillary is probably just as bad. I don’t know anyone who voted for Hillary that really liked her – it was just more so a “anyone but Trump” vote. But to say that Trump hasn’t said or done things that clearly come across as racist is 100% false. Now is he a racist? I have no idea. There’s so much crazy, biased reporting on both sides that it’s impossible to know for sure. But anyone that says he hasn’t shown “racist tendencies” is either delusional, or a racist themselves. Again, I repeat, that doesn’t mean he’s a racist, but I can’t blame someone for believing he is.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:20 pm
@Rod Munch
I get. Thanks for helping my side this fine evening.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:21 pm
I’d also once again like to remind anyone who hates Mike Evans right now, you are on the same side as Rod Munch.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:21 pm
Can you ban Rod for the hot load and cuck references Joe,my God you moderate me for far less
November 13th, 2016 at 10:22 pm
I agree with BennyBucs, Joe, for this article why didn’t you interview every player, coach and front office personnel, and get their political opinion? the last time i check sitting was not a form of protesting. If you are black you understand what he is talking about. As long as Mike is a “Yesam Boss” good old colored boy, every one love him, step away from the cotton field and you should beat beaten.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:23 pm
Hawaiian, this Evans thing brought all the trolls and Internet bad assses out. They’ll be gone in a few days. Only thing many of them have commented on here ever
November 13th, 2016 at 10:23 pm
@Chris
Don’t have him banned. After all he is just following a fine examle.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:24 pm
Hey man it was Mike Evans that wanted to bring politics into Bucs football – so I’m just doing my part. If Evans isn’t a moron with a sub-85 IQ then I have no reason to say anything. But if Evans wants to be a disrespectful piece of trash then fine, we can all play that game.
Oh and just a reminder come January 20, President Trump takes office and he’s Evans president too.
Also he’s LITERALLY Hitler, so I guess Evans is really screwed.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:24 pm
“Can you ban Rod for the hot load and cuck references Joe,my God you moderate me for far less”
——–
Nah, let him go. He’s doing nothing but proving our point with each post. Trust me, he’s the one looking stupid.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:28 pm
Chris I’ve been posting here for years – always defending Winston from the racists like Hawaiian cuc and last year repeatedly defending Evans for his drops – saying it’s one of those years, he will be fine long term.
Evans brought politics into this – I’m responding in kind. If he wants to be a disrespectful moron, then I’ll play along with him and create as much hatred as possible. Obviously his platform is huge, I have a small audience, but I’m helping him with his message of division.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:29 pm
“Chris I’ve been posting here for years – always defending Winston from the racists like Hawaiian cuc ”
———
What? LMAO
November 13th, 2016 at 10:30 pm
@RodMunch
Yeah your helping, but not your president. You remind me of a typical Trump rally. Good for you. Murica! Home of the Rod Munch’s with their official word being cuck.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:31 pm
Hawaiian cuc – you’re part of the white power Glennon mob are you not? I get all you cucks confused. If not then I apologize, and I hope you’ll accept my apologize for wrongly labelling you a racist based on myself it having the appropriate amount of knowledge to make a blanket statement like that.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:33 pm
“and I hope you’ll accept my apologize for wrongly labelling you a racist based on myself it having the appropriate amount of knowledge to make a blanket statement like that.”

Couldn’t care less. I’ll be in my seat at the next home game cheering for him and the team and enjoying my Sunday. You jabronis feel free to keep crying over a nonissue.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:34 pm
Hey Bryan, did you know that you can get AIDS from sitting in a toilet seat? It’s true, if you sit down before Hawaiian cuc gets up – you could get AIDS!
Just goshing around fellas. I thought you’d enjoy a little cuck humor is all.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:35 pm
@Hawaiian
HAHA!
I am Rod Munch B!tch!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:38 pm
Wow Joe you just let this guy say anything, this really disgusts me as a long time person on this site
November 13th, 2016 at 10:39 pm
Wrong Bryan, we are all Rod Munch.
Be more inclusive.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:39 pm
Im a big Trump supporter but dont really care about protests.
I chalk it up to youth and ignorance about the United States and its founding, and history.
So, knock yourself out. On some level it shows he cares about things, no matter how misguided.
Plus the man might be the best wideout we have had. I rreally dont care what he thinks of Trump. Just catch the ball.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:40 pm
Chris, why wouldn’t Joe want all voice heard? Why are you for silencing people just because you don’t agree with them? Be more tolerant.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:40 pm
Well said @Eric.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:40 pm
Why are y’all really here talking politics? This is crazy. Buccaneers just won…. let’s just all get along. Let’s agree to disagree. I still respect all my fellow Bucs fans, I think we are forgetting why we are on this site. Trump websites are very much alive, so if that’s what you want to talk about, please take that to that location. Bucs win!!! Yup
November 13th, 2016 at 10:40 pm
I hope he just blanked on what week it is, because Salute to Service Week is a poor week to start doing it. Normally I wouldn’t care.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:42 pm
Sure mikey,
electing the criminal kilary would of been better choice, she was directly responsible for deaths of four Americans, one being our ambassador. She believe in no restrictions on abortion–ok to abort a baby in last week(murder!) Sorry woman careless with classified info to the utmost extreme! Crying out loud, think with your brain before your stupid demonstration–shows you are on same sorry level as kapenick
November 13th, 2016 at 10:42 pm
Way to take the high road Hawaiian and Bryan.
Of course, we could just start calling him cuck munch instead.
Apparently that’s the worse thing you can be called according to alt-fighters like cuck munch.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:43 pm
*alt-righters
November 13th, 2016 at 10:44 pm
We all have rights here in this Great Nation…..if you don’t use them they will soon be taken away. @ GETOUT: if I choose to leave this Great Nation, Hate is one thing I could not take with me…because it is embedded in every stitch of fabric which is the RED-WHITE and BLUE flag, it is ingrained in the land of this GREAT NATION from SEA TO SHINING SEA! And it has infested the HEARTS AND SOULS of many in this GREAT NATION….so the HATE is here to stay!!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
@Unbelievable
Cuck Munch! Hilarious.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:45 pm
SC – I wouldn’t care if he mouthed off in an interview, although he’d still be a whiny cuck it wouldn’t be a big deal. Disrespecting the military there, disrespecting his teammates by making it all about him – he’s a moron and will now take a bashing in the media. I hope for his sake he comes out tomorrow and says he screwed up and he should have handled it differently. If not him and the team are going to have problems. Tampa is still a military city and something that disrespectful on that day, its remarkably dumb.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:46 pm
Love Mike Evans. Maybe he protesting his salary? Only in America, Land of the free, 🙁
November 13th, 2016 at 10:46 pm
@Artemis Rand Pride? Be proud of what you have accomplished in life, not where your parents happened to procreate. Being PROUD of being American is as silly as being proud that you have a size 10 shoe.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:47 pm
@firethecannons,
It doesn’t matter. He has a right to his own opinion, whether it be right or wrong. He has the right to peacefully protest. Isn’t that one of the most important freedoms of this country?
November 13th, 2016 at 10:48 pm
@Rod Munch
Finally! Just dropped the cuck and you can graduate from Trump U! Good job man!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:48 pm
Interesting choice of words…..”common sense”. I think one of the founding fathers wrote a little bit a literature with the title…”Common Sense”
Maybe Mike should read that
November 13th, 2016 at 10:49 pm
If you call me a cuck after I called you a cuck it’s only because you want to be part of my cuck army. So let’s all meet down at the interstate rest stop and show how we salute our “service” men.
Rod cuck
Evans cuck
Hawaiian cuc
Bryan cuck
Unbelievable cuck
Cuck army for life!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:50 pm
I have always wanted to disagree with those who say ” Sports a way of building up irrational attitudes of submission to authority and group cohesion behind leadership elements. In fact it’s training in irrational jingoism.” But you most of you prove it true. Grab a dictionary if the vocabulary was above you.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:51 pm
Private Hawaiian cuc, private Evans cuck has every right to say and do what he wants – and everyone else has that same freedom as well.
That’s an order.
General Rod Cuck
November 13th, 2016 at 10:52 pm
Private James cuck – welcome to the cuck army!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:53 pm
Since this was a protest to Trump, he should have invited players, coaches, owners, military personnel to sit or kneel with him, in protest to the president elect that people can’t seem to get over.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:53 pm
“Private Hawaiian cuc, private Evans cuck has every right to say and do what he wants – and everyone else has that same freedom as well.

I have this vision of you on your laptop in a wife beater, watching Fox News, laughing at your own jokes.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:54 pm
Purely from a marketing standpoint Evans protest is negative….
Negative because you can’t protest Trump (this way) without protesting all who voted for him….he wouldn’t be President without them.
And….a very large percentage are fans or potential fans.
The NFL is in the Entertainment business….and it’s bad for business to turn off many of your customers…..The CEO of Grubhub found that out very quickly.
Now Mike, at this point stands alone……imagine if all the players did what he did…..would that be OK?
Pretty soon…..this form of protest will be less meaningful because it will be old news.
As far as Mike
November 13th, 2016 at 10:54 pm
@James Walker
That is a fine point. However, at what point do you overcome your apprehension to jingoism and fight? And by you I mean the athlete, in this case Mike Evans. Obviously Mike has reached that point.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:55 pm

November 13th, 2016 at 10:57 pm
Hawaiian Buc, I’m curious, has anyone close to you given the ultimate price for this country? Or do you just not care because you have no idea of the price that it cost for you to even sit in the safety of your home? I wander if Mike Evans would look into the eyes of the men on Normandy Beach or Iwo Jima and say “no thanks I won’t stand for you!”. That is vulgar! That is what his actions state loud in clear. I couldn’t hear what he was saying because his actions were so much louder! Maybe you should enjoy a country like North Korea or Iran? If so, you may understand just how blessed we are to live in this country!
November 13th, 2016 at 10:58 pm
Private Bryan cuck, there will be no infighting in the cuck army. Private James Cuck has every right to say what he said. You need to simmer down and shut up. The only thing the cuck army can’t tolerate is in intolerance.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:59 pm
The man has every right to his opinion. While I wish it wasn’t on Veterans Day at least he’s providing a specific reason for his protest that a lot of Americans agree with. As a middle age white American male I clearly saw the race lines Trump was using to get into the White House and I bet deep down even his supporters know that as well.
November 13th, 2016 at 10:59 pm
University of Seffner, it should have said Hawaiian cuc bi-curious.
Sorry to interrupt I just wanted to make sure he knew you were taking to him/her/it.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:00 pm
@Rod
Pipe down. Mine and Mr. Walker’s conversation is way way over your head. Just go to the corner and keep muttering cuck. Gracious. .. I mean thank you, please do not deport me.

Bucs fans on jbf discussing politics or any adult subject matter is equivalent to mutton busting at the rodeo.

Putting all this nonsense aside, I read bigdaddybucsbacker’s post. That was a well thought out post, and I totally respect his belief (and thank you for your service). While I do think he’s unfairly punishing the entire organization for the actions of one person, I completely understand and sympathize with his point of view.
I respect the opinion of a veteran a million times more than some idiot who gets upset at anyone who doesn’t have their exact same belief system. I would love to know how the actual men in the military feel about this issue. I would guess like most things, it would have a lot to do with age.
Regardless, he has the right to do it. Like I said, I personally wouldn’t do it, but him doing it doesn’t affect my feelings for him in any way. If I saw him on the street, I would shake his hand and congratulate him on a great season so far. I wouldn’t bring this up, because I have no desire to.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:07 pm
Hawaiian, I read bigdaddy’s post and agree with your take. Couldn’t have responded better.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:07 pm
ME13… just do your job what you’re paid to do is to entertain the fans of the Buccaneers and keep your opinions to yourself and I’ll not come to your house and sh!t on your coffee table because your actions today you took a sh!t on my coffee table!!@@
November 13th, 2016 at 11:09 pm
Hey John, just to be real for a moment try doing a little reading of you care even in the least about the truth. Trump is a big city lifelong Democrat, in 2008 he said he’d have voted for Hillary for president if she won the Democrat primary. Additionally he said he’d vote for Obama in 2008 if he got Hillary as his VP. Trump spent the first 2 years of Obama being in office doing nothing but sucking Obamas balls. Spend 2 minutes reading up on what Trump said about Obama in 2008-2010, it’s nothing but praise and saying how great he is. That by the way is why those on the right didn’t like him and wasn’t onboard until it came down to him or Hillary. So he was a high profile public guy for most of his life and there was never anything about him that was racist, but when he got an R next to his name, well that’s different I guess.
Cleaning up the illegal immigration issue is something that has very broad public support, in 2006 before the Democrats decided they had to win by getting illegals on the voter role after the 2004 loss, 77% of Americans suppprted a border fence and more than that supported deporting those here illegally.

@University of Seffner,
I’ve lived 90% of my life in Tampa and Hawaii, both huge military areas. I’ve had more friends than I can count that are, or have been in the military. I’m not going to lie and tell you I’ve had a friend die in combat, because I haven’t. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect the hell out of the military.
I stand for the anthem. Every single time. I have done charity for military events (as recently as a couple months ago). But as I keep saying, what Mike Evans does isn’t of a concern to me. He’s not my family. If he were my son, this would be a whole different story. But he’s not.
I do my very best to not judge people without knowing their story. I’m not perfect at this, as I’ve judged people on this site on this post. But I don’t know Mike’s story. I’ve never had a cop treat me unfairly (but my life changed when I witnessed it happen to a black friend of mine). I’ve never been oppressed. I don’t know how I would respond if I had. I would probably not be incredibly supportive of a man that has a reputation of being a racist (again, I don’t know if he is or isn’t, but he definitely has that perception). Regardless, he can do what he wants.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:13 pm
Here’s my take Evans.
President Trump takes office Jan 20th.
Since he’s LITERALLY Hitler you need to leave the country, and soon. Also don’t follow the racists in Hollywood and flee to Canada – be a man and head way down Mexico way. Hell with your money you got from this awful racist country you’ll be able to have your own cuck army there.
I’ll pray for you.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:15 pm
Wow Hawaiian cuc, that’s deep. Almost as deep as deep as you can… well I’ll be PG for the children, but you know what. Hehehe.
Smilies.

November 13th, 2016 at 11:19 pm
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!
November 13th, 2016 at 11:22 pm
There is a time and a place for everything. Protest on your own time, not while you are at work.
How many of us would have jobs if we decided to conduct a political protest at work that embarrassed our coworkers, our employers, our city, and our country?
November 13th, 2016 at 11:24 pm
ME13 DO YOUR JOB>>>>>>>>>>>> We ALL pay for you to entertain us! I won’t crap on your coffee table and I expect the same from you… but today that’s what you did and my opinion of your dropped immensely! Redeem yourself Bro!

November 13th, 2016 at 11:30 pm
Simply bad for business…..and it is business…..not personal time. Freedom of speech doesn’t extend to the workplace…..try carrying a political sign around your work and after they fire you sue them claiming first amendment rights…..lots of luck…..
November 13th, 2016 at 11:30 pm
^^ typical response from someone in the closet. It’s okay cuck munch, you can can come out… No judgement. We’re all humans.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:31 pm
@Pruritus Ani,
Agreed, but the NFL is not the normal workplace. There are things that happen in the locker room that would never fly in a regular workplace. It’s a whole other animal in professional sports.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:32 pm
@Tampabaybucfan
Fair point but do they play the national anthem at your workplace?
November 13th, 2016 at 11:36 pm
It would be an interesting court challenge if an NFL team required players to either stand during the anthem or remain in the locker room until it is completed…..my opinion is that the team would win.,,,,that free speech doesn’t extend to the workplace…..only the public square…..
November 13th, 2016 at 11:43 pm
I think we should draft Trump in the first round next year. We need someone who is an “outsider.” Right? Someone who will join this team and “shake things up.” I hear that’s a good thing. Plus, you don’t need to have governing, I mean football, experience. This is just common sense.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:44 pm
I’m not saying he doesn’t have the right….because if there is no team rule against it….he’s OK there…..
But what I am saying is that it isn’t good for business….that can’t be
denied. The
November 13th, 2016 at 11:46 pm
@Tampabaybucfan
So standing during National Anthem being mandatory. I would have a major problem with that. If they can mandate standing during the pledge in school, I see how that might be possible. However, that is not right. Is it still mandatory to stand during the pledge? Was it really required in my day? Good stuff!
November 13th, 2016 at 11:48 pm
@TBBF,
No doubt it isn’t good for business. I’m sure the Bucs don’t like it.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:52 pm
@Bryan
I’m not saying to mandate standing….I’m saying they can either stand or stay in the locker room…..they simply cannot use the anthem as a protest opportunity.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:54 pm
Tampabaybucfan – I’d rather everyone be able to say or do whatever they want, if Evans is this big of a dumb whinny cuck, then he should be free to be that. While he’s it’s a workplace I don’t think we want to get j to a situation of making people do things – that will absolutely be abused by liberals to make you do things like stand and honor the inventor of the glory hole.
With that said I also get that same right to be a disrespectful piece of garbage, and so it shall be forever more. In nine Evan articles I won’t bring up politics or cucks, but when on his knees Evans is speaking – I’ll do my best to remind everyone of what a cuck he is.
Word up.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:54 pm
I will say this……I think fans would rather have Trump as an owner than the Glazers…..regardless of the politics.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:56 pm
So, the new update with the official Bucs response is much ado about nothing. A nice, politically correct statement from the powers that be at One Buc Palace without really saying anything at all worth a crap. Not surprising.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:56 pm
@Tampabaybucfan
I think standing in the locker would be a form of protest. I hear ya though.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:57 pm
Ive already stopped watching the rest of the league.
Done with Bucs, too now
Im not giving my money, to people who dont respect me or this country.
Hes a millionaire for playing a game.
Meybe thats so out of whack, that it needs adjusting
Playing games shouldnt pay more than risking your life, to save other people.

Well said! Like others have said, for no other reason than the fact that it is bad for business, the Glazers have a moral and financial responsibility to put an end to this nonsense.
November 13th, 2016 at 11:59 pm
@Rod Munch
So, if it’s OK for Evans to do it….what about the entire team…..imagine how great that would be for ticket sales?
Players aren’t permitted to wear protest items on their uniforms…..perhaps they should be able to wear the name of their favorite candidate..
November 14th, 2016 at 12:06 am
Time for me to sign off…….I’m still a Buc fan……I never get attached too much to players because they get injured, cut, traded or retire….but the team goes on.
ME13 needs to be even better at what he does to compensate for this….so there’s the good news!!!
Good Night…..
November 14th, 2016 at 12:07 am
I support him. He has the right to do this. Am I disappointed, yeah quite a bit. However I won’t condemn someone doing something that he believes in. That’s not my place. Evans is one of my favorite players in the league. I voted Trump because I didn’t like Hillary, and I didn’t trust Hillary. Trump’s a wild card. We don’t know if he’s going to do well, we don’t know if he’s going to fail. Evans doesn’t like him and doesn’t support him. That’s not why I watch the game. I watch the games to have something to do with my dad, and we’ve been doing this for 18 years. Evans is using his celebrity status to protest something he doesn’t believe in. I don’t fault him for it. Even myself, a veteran who’s currently in the Army, understands this. Kaepernick is protesting his “oppression” while Evans is not proud to call Trump president. Thats a legit reason. Any other year, I’d be with him. However, If Trump’s only accomplishment as president is keeping Hillary out of office, I’ll be fine by that. I disagree with his methods of protesting, but it’s his right as an American citizen.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:16 am
TBF – I agree with you it’s remarkably dumb and will kill the team when it comes to an already apathetic fan base, but I do not want it mandated that players be forced to stand. I also don’t want something like them staying in the locker room to be an option since it will greatly inflate the numbers as it’s a cowardly way to not have to do it publicly. What will end this is people calling out these morons for being morons and not pretending like this dope that catches a ball for a living has anything intelligent to say about politics. I’m also telling you any sort of law that makes it legal for an employer to discipline someone for not honoring something – it won’t be limited to just the anthem and it will be abused.
What needs to happen is his fellow players need to smarten him up because he will cost them money at some point. Then again these same doors are the ones filing bankruptcy after signing 30-million dollar contracts and they have 17 children in 13 mothers.
The only defense I will give is that these are basically still a bunch of children who live in a PC bubble created by their schools and the media. Evans has no idea what Trump stands for on anything and like 99% of the anti-Trump dopes couldn’t quote anything racist he’s ever said. But it’s not a put Trump, it’s about the anthem, the country and in particular about the day he choose to do this. Tom Brady wasn’t out taking a kneee when Obama the socialist got elected and promised to “fundamentally” change the country – something he’s done by making it more divided than at any point in my life. When Kap is protesting the flag I didn’t say good – I don’t like Obama so I support you – I called him a piece of trash and I hoped his legs got broke. I don’t want Evans to put me in that same situation as I’ve always liked the kid. I hope he either smartens up himself or someone else grabs him by the collar and explains to him what he is doing. I hope for Evans sake he comes out tomorrow and says he messed up. No groveling needed, just say he messed up and it won’t happen again. If he doesn’t, if he continues, he will quickly be the most hated person in town if he isn’t already.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:20 am
Look how much drama the joes are stirring up.
Didn’t hear one mention of this at the beginning of the game.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:20 am
@ pit
Evans was not protesting taxes or policies. He even said he was not a political person. He is protesting bigotry and sexism. Did you see this much of a backlash when GW won twice? No because those were policy differences not character/race/sexism differences. Trump is viewed as a bigot and a sexist not because of the media but because what he said and did. Every republican since regan had those same tax policies. None has has put a “C” on applications or said I grab them by the pu$$y. Past republicans didnt say that McCain is not a hero. That is unpatriotic. No, you are the closed minded one.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:25 am
Joshua, first let me thank you for your service. My father gave his life in in service to the country, so while I haven’t served I do at least have that in my background. I appreciate your mindset and I have the same views on Trump, we don’t know what he’ll do. I would be bothered nearly as much by Evans if he just said something dumb, it was the time and place he choose to do it. It’s incredibly disrespectful in my opinion. He has every right to do it, but he also has every right to be mocked and belittled. The issue I have is sort of like you is I like Evans and I want to just watch football and have it be an escape. When a player takes a stand like this he’s just making it about himself. Like what is the point of his not standing – he doesn’t want free elections if the results aren’t what he likes? I’m really hoping Evans quickly has a change of heart and comes out and said he was being a dumb cuck and it won’t happen again, because if not I’m not sure how many people are going to be as understanding as yourself.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:28 am
The NFL doesn’t even give a crap about the “national anthem’ they only started having player out for it in the early 2000’s and thats because they make a hugh profit off of it.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:28 am
webster – hey cuck, did you notice people saying Trump was a racist and sexist in 2008 he was openly saying he’d vote for Hillary for president if she won the primary and he’d still vote for Obama if he could get Hillary as his VP pick? Did you notice people calling Trump a racist in 2009-2010 when he’d go on CNN and do nothing but praise Obama and say how good of a job he was doing?
Be less of a boring media cuck you cuck. You are doing nothing but spewing political proganda you empty headed moron.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:31 am
Buccuc305 – everyone used to stand for the national anthem as far back as I remember, you see it on every old NFL films intro ever made. The NFL may or may not care but how exactly are they making money off of it? Be a less boring cuck.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:39 am
If you really wanted to protest stay in the tunnel. When the National Anthem is done come out alone. Oh, Fly Overs and military color guards must stop at professional sporting events. Wasted days tax pay dollars on spoiled athletes.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:10 am
Not only is he not a political person, he is ignorant of facts. That happens when you listen to other people vs. doing your own homework. It is his choice to be ignorant. It is his choice to disrespect the flag and the country. I do feel sorry for someone that makes a decision based on ignorance.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:18 am
@ Rod munch
No, I missed that. What I saw is a man that put a “C” at the top of his apartment applications. What I saw was a man take out a full page ad to put four black teenagers to death for the murder of a white woman. When the DNA evidence came out proven their innocence, he refused to apologize. What I saw is a man for 8 years trying to say the first black president was not born in America. What I saw just like Evans and many others is a sexist/racist/joke. What I see based on your comments is you are the same.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:39 am
@ Rod munch
What I saw is a man (Trump) in 2016 say he did not know who david duke was when in 1988 or 1992 duke tried to run for the presidency but it came out he was a KKK leader and therefore he dropped out of the race. That is why Evans and many others called him a racist/sexist/joke just like you appear to be.
November 14th, 2016 at 2:07 am
i do not blame him white folks elected a stone racist then think black folks should be happy good for him
November 14th, 2016 at 2:34 am
No longer interested in supporting this team if Evans is allowed to disrespect the fans, our military community, and the Bucs organization. Keep the politics off the damn football field. No one is interested in your beliefs, just whether you can catch the ball or not.
November 14th, 2016 at 3:07 am

In addition to the explanation given in the article, I would add that it’s because they’re insecure assholes.
November 14th, 2016 at 4:50 am
[…] as explained to JoeBucsFan.com, has decided to protest the election of Trump as president by kneeling during the national anthem […]
November 14th, 2016 at 5:02 am
Lmao at the leftist bubble breathers. Three weeks ago complaining about what’s wrong with the country made you a racist. Elect a white guy and do it, and that makes you patriotic. Haha. The irony is delicious!!! Remember this? #HeWonGetOverIt
November 14th, 2016 at 5:32 am
Only one problem with Tampa Bays statement, speech by employee of a private company is NOT protected. Read the US constitution and read all of the cases where the SCOTUS ruled Freedom of Speech does not apply.
Evans can say what he wants about disrespect, Action speaks way louder than words in this case.
November 14th, 2016 at 5:36 am
A$$HOLE!!! HOW DID SITTING WORKOUT FOR YOU? YOUR WORST GAME OF THE SEASON.
November 14th, 2016 at 5:57 am
Grown men should not have temper tantrums over the result of an election.
November 14th, 2016 at 6:04 am
“Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mike Evans decision to sit/kneel during the pregame ceremony…” If I had known that I would NOT have watched the game! You can let them know your feelings at: http://www.buccaneers.com/contact-us/
I directed my displeasure to Marketing and promotions – share this post!
November 14th, 2016 at 6:26 am
Did Mike Evans vote? Respect the outcome of the election. Respect the will of the people. But Mike Evans has every right to form and voice his opinion. I don’t agree with Mike but I respect his opinion. That is what makes our country great. We get to voice our opinions and be heard. I am a US Army Vet and I served and fought for the freedom he exercises. GO BUCS!
November 14th, 2016 at 6:52 am
Screw Evans and the horse he rode in on
November 14th, 2016 at 6:58 am
What an a$$h??e.
November 14th, 2016 at 7:10 am
I have an idea. Why don’t we talk about the actual game instead of this TMZ style political bullsh*t. It’s his choice to stand and while neither me nor the friends I’ve had die overseas believe in it, he’s protesting in the way he believes is best. this is coming from an Active Duty Air Force member by the way.
November 14th, 2016 at 7:11 am
Sit*
November 14th, 2016 at 7:23 am
Unbelievable! Trade him! I would rather watch my team lose 16 games than watch ownership sit by and watch their players disrespect our country. I won’t be supporting the team any longer as long as Mike Evans is on the team. My silent protest!
November 14th, 2016 at 7:55 am
Hey Mike,You know what’s a joke, you making millions of dollars catching a football on Sunday afternoons! America gave that to you!
Donald Trump is your President and you’d better start showing respect you ungrateful liberal punk! My Son fought in two deployments in Afghanistan so that you could go to college and live the life you live
Kiss my ass #13….
November 14th, 2016 at 8:00 am
Let me make this clear. When you are representing an organization, and wearing their uniform; “no” you do not have a right to do things that shed the organization in bad light; and the NFL is remiss for not doing something about this disease. If he wants to protest, he should do it on his own time. As a career Marine, I disagree with comments that say “most” veterans agree with his right to protest the flag or the anthem…simply not true. The overwhelming majority of veterans that I know are highly offended. My family will not attend another Bucs event, or watch them on TV, until either Evans is gone or he makes a sincere, public apology.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:05 am
Mike is a spoiled bitch-ass punk and should be FIRED!!!!!
November 14th, 2016 at 8:06 am
Very disrespectful of him to sit during the national anthem. The NFL should not allow this anti-American behavior to take place within their league. Mike Evans is an employee of the NFL and is getting paid to be there. On his own time, he can protest all he wants. It is sad that while kneeling he is disrespecting not only the military veterans, but also the family members of fans who paid to be there, many who have lost loved ones in battles protecting the very freedoms that allow Evans to make millions of dollars playing a kids game. If he decided not to go out and play on the field he would be cut very fast. Same should go for not standing for the national anthem. The NFL needs to clean this up fast before they lose even more fans.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:09 am
why do we sing the national anthem before every high school college and professional game? Why? As if I don’t know that this is a great country I have to be freaking reminded every time I watch a game that I’m supposed to go suck some veterans assholes
November 14th, 2016 at 8:09 am
IDIOT! I think that all military exhibitions should consider pulling out of the NFL. NFL is nonsupporting the military. I personally loved flags covering the fields and fly by’s.
Players need to grow up, act like adults. EVANS does not know enough about what he’s protesting! If he says he’s not very political then stand up and shut up! Educate your dumb ass!
November 14th, 2016 at 8:10 am
Nobody’s daddy. Clinton the popular vote…Trump won the election. But Evans has a constitutional right to sit quietly. Sorry that you don’t respect someone else’s freedom of speech, but that is his choice. Maybe you can suit up and replace him on the field…. your right. Or trade him for some draft pick…if you own the team. But until that, get over it. Can you imagine the social disruption that would have occurred in America if Trump had won the popular vote and Clinton the election… far beyond sitting during the pledge? Or does it only cut one way?
November 14th, 2016 at 8:15 am
And BTW…since we haven’t had a draft in over 40 years, I have to wonder how many of you Lazyboy Patriots actually served? Part of the reason to serve is to protect….to defend our rights as Americans. Maybe if more of you would have served, you would understand that.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:15 am
What’s the point of vets fighting for our right to a free country, with free speech, if ME13 isn’t free to make any darn statement he wants?
By exercising our freedoms, we honour the sacrifices of our vets. Do I agree with Mike? Nah. But I sure agree with his right to sit, stand, lie or do yoga during the anthem.
Do your thing Mike! It’s a free country and that is why it is a GREAT country.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:19 am
All y’all against free speech can catch the next boat to North Korea, you’ll love it there – anyone who speaks freely gets shot! Have fun and make sure to write us from the concentration camp you get sent to for speaking your mind!
The rest of us gonna enjoy the good ol USA. Live free or die, baby.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:23 am
And BTW…if some of you guys really give a flying fish about Veterans, quit B and moaning about your taxes and put billions more into VA HC programs and transition programs. That will truly honor our Vets and prove your honoring their service and country. Crocodile tears at ceremonies and pledge indignation aren’t nearly as important as supporting Vets with your time and dollars.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:43 am
Mike is right to do and say what he wants. I have a right to be disappointed in him also. Mike was like 16 when the presidency changed hands last. This is his, and many other young people protesting around the countries first wake up call that we live in a democracy and not everyone thinks the same. Give them some time to get used to it. If this is going on in a couple of weeks then they need a kick in the ass. until then, give them some space. Go bucs.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:46 am
Does anyone want to guess how much more Evans pays in Taxes that actually help Vets, than the rest of us do on this board? 10 times? A hundred times? Wow…how simple minded we Americans are becoming. It is all about words and cheap indignation.
November 14th, 2016 at 8:53 am
Speak for yourself mark. And it’s about respect, not just words. It’s a shame for Mike cause this will stick with him.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:01 am
Mike Evans has not created or shown to be at a minimum a winner.. this crybaby is just like Colin trying to get media attention in a cheap unrespectful way. I use to like him. I will never play him again for he doesn’t deserve anyone’s attention!!!! Cut him too!!!
BTW Trump built a Billion Dollar franchise without crying to the media!!! Evans needs to go to class and learn about the democracy he lives or move to Argentina!!!
November 14th, 2016 at 9:02 am
glad mike did what he did….screw trump!!!!he’s an opportunist looking to benefit from a situation that will only help himself and people like him…..he cares nothing about the average people, especially black and Spanish people….screw him and everyone that shares his views…..GO MIKE….GO BUCS!!!!
November 14th, 2016 at 9:09 am
Bench him for 1st offense….Cut him if it happens again!!
GO TRUMP!!!
November 14th, 2016 at 9:16 am
As your President said what ? 8 years ago – get over it, you lost- a another self important twit.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:17 am
Get on your feet or get off the field you friggin whiner!!! You say America is not right right now? I agree…..because of dumb asses like you who disrespect a Countries National Anthem to protest a vote. You just can’t be happy that you are getting paid millions, in a Country that has given everyone the right and freedom to vote. So you will abuse that freedom to poorly express an opinion.
“I’m not a political person that much, but I got common sense” you are quoted. First off….learn English and basic sentence structure! Nothing worse than a moronic overpaid athlete that kids supposedly look up to. Second, you are sounding overly political with ‘no’ common sense.
You do realize that Trump was elected based on a ballot system, right? Your ‘disgust at Trump’s victory’ as you are quoted, pans out to be your disgust for all those who freely voted him in. This will likely include your fans/followers/supporters….and pay check providers.
So, while you sit on your pathetic dumb ass disrespecting a free countries anthem keep in mind that you are also disrespecting all those, including your fans (if you still have any) that used their freedom to cast a ballot.

Eat $hit mike, turd💩!!!! Trade him for Jameis old WO Kelvin Benjamin!!
November 14th, 2016 at 9:31 am
So tired of people getting “outraged” for America & on Veterans behalf; I’m a war veteran, and I got zero issues with Mike Evans. Do your thing man. I honestly do not care the cause, I care about his ability to peacefully protest in a free society without fear of retribution. I didn’t serve to protect the popular opinion or only protect speech that is “rah rah Pro-America at all times”. He’s not advocating violence, he’s sitting peacefully. Its not an insult to veterans. If you are going to get upset at Mike Evans because of a personal opinion he has, fine that is your right as well. The outright hatred and name calling though is ridiculous. The people throwing tantrums over this are the same people accusing millennials of needing a “safe space”. If a dude you don’t know, who catches footballs for a living, sitting down hurting no one can enrage or anger you, I don’t know what to tell you. This is such a non-story, do your thing Mike Evans. If you want him cut or benched for this, you are a damn fool.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:33 am
Mike Evans…Just go stand in the tunnel until the anthem is over if you want to protest. Glazer’s…. your employee offended me by his behavior. If a clerk at Starbucks, McDonalds, Macy’s etc offended me I wouldn’t be going back to that store. Perhaps NFL fans need to start doing that.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:53 am
Evans has made himself famous as the Dixie Chicks did. Too bad it wasn’t for his play on the field. Political statements belong outside the stadium not inside detracting from the game. If nothing else, it’s bad sportsmanship.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:55 am
I have slept on this. If ME wanted discussion on an issue, then he was very successful. The problem is the discussion isn’t over the issue that he wants. All of the vitriol from both sides is only overshadowed by its predictability. We are as a society, incredibly guilty of uninformed knee jerk reactions. I would love to sit down with ME over a beverage and have an honest, non-emotional conversation regarding the issues that he finds disturbing. He is a very young 23 year old. Many of us can relate to his upbringing, but few of us (thankfully, I am not one) can understand the affects of having a father murdered by an family member. That event jaded his view of his country I’m sure. Being said, very few situations are ever ideal. Our country being one of them. I railed about all of the presidential options, not just the R and D this election. In many ways, this election highlighted the flaws in our system. But our country did elect a black man, with Muslim sounding name for two consecutive terms. To me, over my lifetime that is progress. Watching all of the uproar to the results of the election was way more disheartening than the result of the election itself. ME, if you want to make change, please work hard towards making change. But never forget, America allows you to work for that change. My challenge to you is to you, as a new father, raise your child in a world of hope not anger. A world of possibilities, not limitations. Every generation that is raised not looking at color of skin but qualities and talents gets us forward on our path towards the ideal.
November 14th, 2016 at 10:09 am
The NFL is entertainment. In the next contract, the NFL should protect their brand and have clauses that fine employees for unapproved political protests and actions detrimental to the team and/or the value of the NFL as a whole. This is not a public protest. These players are at “work”. Misguided as they are since they are alienating about half their potential customers, music acts protesting at their own shows is totally different. Similarly, actors don’t protest within their actual movie. They protest on their own time. These players are out there working for the NFL to entertain. They are not out there on their own, but as representatives of the NFL. If they are doing things that impact value and profitability, they should be fined accordingly.
November 14th, 2016 at 10:17 am
all this country does now is whine, boycott and protest… then the opposing side tells the “whiners” to grow a pair and stop being so sensitive… GET OVER IT & STOP BEING SENSITIVE
November 14th, 2016 at 10:25 am
I stopped watching the 49ers over this, then I said – I don’t need to watch football at all – as long as this bs continues. Freedom of Speech applies to the government, not an employer. The NFL or any team could stop this crap in an instant. Suspend them without pay or let them go.
Be stupid on your own time…
November 14th, 2016 at 10:39 am
Anyone whose stopped watching football over this is hilarious to me. You’d rather your entertainers lie to you so you can pretend you live in a perfect insulated bubble; most of us got over that at 6 years old when realized Santa Claus wasn’t real. They don’t want or need your approval for their opinions; no more so than you want or need theirs for idiotic message board opinions you post on JBF. There is not a single person on here who’d want their boss or company to tell them how to post or feel about their football team; let alone something meaningful like the direction of the country. The obsession with punishing adults & American citizens for doing something that literally harms no one, is beyond stupefying. He could sit for Trump, he could sit for disliking Obama, he could sit because he believes there are Alien over-lords who should be in charge; I do not give two bleeps. I care that we live in a society that allows, protects, and encourages free thought/expression. The fact remains “most” people who are upset at Evans, are only upset because his cause runs contrary to some opinion you hold; where as if he was advocating something you agreed with, you’d be find with it. Hypocrites.
November 14th, 2016 at 10:43 am
There are enough bad influences affecting the young people of our country that we are going to allow athletes to break the law and not stand for the National Anthem (36 U.S. Code § 301) and not punish them. These athletes have a right to say what they want; but to disrespect the flag and the people who fought to protect their right to speak is wrong. Does the NFL agree that these athletes should be allowed to set a poor example and break the law?
By the way, did Mike Evans vote?
November 14th, 2016 at 10:57 am
He’s not “breaking the law”. Please go retake a basic civics course. Also, stop getting offended on Veterans behalf; we are not a monolith. You cannot use us as the cloak to wrap yourself in as protection for your silly opinion. Some of us have no problems with Mike Evans actions; regardless of whether or not we agree with his message/opinion.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:07 am
Alright fellow comment readers, let’s play “Count the Old, Racist White people”
November 14th, 2016 at 11:12 am
This is our national anthem and, yes, he can do what he feels he needs to do. Well, so will I – I will not watch the NFL until they clean this up. As a veteran and former law enforcement agent, I am not alone in this position and it will continue to be reflected in the TV ratings and in our assessment of the state of pro football. Disrespect to our country has its consequences.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:24 am
This is America and we shall tolerate any law abiding citizen’s opinions. If he wants to disrespect our brave Men & Women of our Military & 1st responders, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING, he has the right to do so.
Folks, we pay him to sprint up and down the sunny football field and catch high passes. Ultimately, Mike Evans, is responsible for his own brand and actions.
So that being said, who wants to organize the Mike Evan’s jersey burning ceremony? Invite vendors, so we can choose new Jerseys on the spot.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:44 am
What a huge thread and almost completely filled with hypocrites. People want to respect veterans and everything they stood and still stand for except for the freedoms related to anything that clashes with their personal beliefs. I’m sorry, but things don’t work that way. Your vitriol towards a young man, in a country where historically young people have largely ignored politics, is worse than anything Mike Evans did on Sunday. You are treating this dude like he’s worse than Hitler in the wake of the league trying to cover for an abusive kicker with a God complex. Apparently cutting Evans and signing Josh Brown would be alright in a lot of people’s books.
It’s also largely amusing how I’ve seen more veterans willing to stand up for the right to perform these peaceful protests than anyone else.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:44 am
And I’m done watching at least for the season. This is so indicative of today’s petulant whiny children that don’t get their way. He even admitted that he doesn’t even follow politics but yet there he is making a political statement because he doesn’t agree with what half the US and 70% of the states (including Florida and Texas) voted for.
I am disgusted that the Bucs would support him in his “protest” of the election. I don’t recall this backlash (riots, protests, etc) when Obama was elected and reelected. Maybe that’s because our entitled children that come from the Everybody Gets a Trophy parenting style are finally growing up. Either way, I’m done for the season. Mike Evans is a whiny little punk. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he didn’t vote.
On a side note, I don’t like Trump. I only voted for him because I hate Hillary far more. I’m not happy with the election result but there was no possible result that I would have been happy with.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:51 am
Half this message board: “Millennials & whiney young people who get offended by everything are ruining this country when they don’t get their way, they should just grow up & stop complaining. They should just go to their precious safe space if they can’t handle the real world”
The very same person: “I’m not watching my favorite sport anymore because some of the players actions “offend me & my sensibilities”, and if I can’t get my NFL product exactly how ‘I’ want it, I’m not watching it, I want to only see things I agree with.”
This is actually real life; I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:56 am
@Brandon
“I don’t recall this backlash (riots, protests, etc) when Obama was elected and reelected.”
That isn’t true. There were a number of protests following Obama being elected. There were also several death threats targeting him and his family post election that resulted in arrests.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:29 pm
Shut up and vote next time Mike. Protesting afterwards will do nothing but I guess it’s easier. Millennials. Smh
November 14th, 2016 at 12:40 pm
Mike Evans keep playing football because a rocket scientist you’re most certainly not. Now an ignorant anti-white racist bigot crybaby because your candidate Hillary lost the election is closer to the truth. NFL viewership has tanked lately because of professional football athletes making political & social statements on and off the field instead of doing the job that you get paid millions of dollars to do, and that’s simply play football. Why do you think Trump won. Because your candidate was an evil corrupt incompetent establishment criminal D-bag and America has had enough with the horrific collateral damage progressive liberalism has inflected against our country. Eight years of Obama and black people are no better off today than before he was elected but Democrats will still take your vote anyway. You should have taken a knee against Obama If you were really honest with yourself. Because you’d have to be a special kind of stupid not to see that.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:45 pm
This guy is ANOTHER overpaid, childish racist. If you don’t have any talent and you want to feel relevant (or at least get talked about) — do some stupid sh!t like this. That’s what you do — sorry, but if the league doesn’t fire this punk, then he is right, America is no right right now! This sort of thing is costing the league viewers.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:55 pm
I used to watch the NFL as a way to escape the world and enjoy the one thing that hasn’t been tainted by the world. Now that too has been ruined.
November 14th, 2016 at 12:56 pm
Spoiled loser, just like the Bucs
November 14th, 2016 at 1:07 pm
Skelly…respect goes both ways. Seems many don’t understand that anymore.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:10 pm
Monkey…hte to break it to you, but Trump didn’t do very well among the well educated demographic.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:12 pm
Stranger…selective memory…and they don’t remember what Trump said about the elections and how his supporters should take it if he lost.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:13 pm
From the Buck’s management: “… We also recognize every individual’s constitutional right to freedom of speech, which is crucial to the American principles we cherish.” Since when is political protesting acceptable on the job, in uniform, representing the whole team/organization/owner/NFL? This is NOT a freedom of speech issue; it’s about organizations letting members selectively hide behind that organization (e.g., NFL, public schools) to express personal political agendas. Evans, you disrespect yourself as well. Were it not for that flag, you and the rest of you immature, malicious, malcontents would not have such freedom to exhibit your ingratitude and ignorance. I’m retired Air Force and I am beyond offended with this politically-correct irrationality. You don’t spit in someone’s face and then say “nothing personal.”
November 14th, 2016 at 1:16 pm
Brandon… You could have voted for someone else…a third party candidate or left the presidential vote blank. You voted for him…own it…and accept responsibility for the next four years. All I want to know is when is he going to bring in the “great minds” he promised? All I see so far is career politicians and family.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:34 pm
Matthew speaking some truth up in here!
Thank you for your service, and for calling out people who try to use the military as a prop to push their own self-righteous moral superiority.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:35 pm
George Harrison… very well stated. Unfortunately, I feel the only way the NFL will act is for the fans as a whole stage their own type of protest. We are the ones supporting and buying the product they put out. I just don’t know if the fans are strong enough to do without.
November 14th, 2016 at 1:35 pm
@mark2001,
Wait, so you’re saying Newt Gingrich, Chris Christie, Myron Ebell, Steve Bannon, Roger Ailes, and Roger Stone aren’t “great minds” that represent change?
You mean these sleezebag career politicians and lobbyists aren’t going to ‘drain the swamp’ or change anything about washington?
Say it ain’t so!
November 14th, 2016 at 1:57 pm
Stranger- Mike Evans is free to take a knee for any cause he chooses…
Nobody is challenging his freedom to do so, we are challenging his cause, reason, and a comprehensive explanation that we can all get behind or at least respect.
The fact that he has none of this nor care to put time into it only shows why Trump supporters won. Separation is in the preparation despite what Hollywood and the Main stream media portray.
Mike Evans falls under Entertainer without a clue. BTW, Mike Evans wanted this attention… will he raise up to the challenge?
November 14th, 2016 at 2:53 pm
BennyBucs your race card has been declined due to overuse.
November 14th, 2016 at 3:05 pm
“I’m not a political person”. But as long as the democrat wins, you’d be fine huh? Give me a break. This is not smart. They are trying desperately to get the fans back. Fill the empty seats, stop fans from selling their tickets. This is not how you go about it. Sure he has a right to protest, but like most democrats he’s just not using his brain.
November 14th, 2016 at 3:26 pm
Adding my family to the list of former Buccaneer fans who will no longer support or consume their product.
November 14th, 2016 at 4:29 pm
Mike u just committed to 4 to 8 years of sitting during the NA and u didn’t even vote. Mike just thought I would let u know that
November 14th, 2016 at 5:10 pm
Hi MR. Buc and Friends and Families:
I know this is pretty random but I wanted to reach out to you and I was hoping that you might be able to help me out with something… I’ve been doing
some marketing for this new sports app that’s coming out in a few days & I was wondering if you’d be willing to preregister for it completely free just to help me out. Doesn’t require any payment info or anything like that. Just your number, email & fav sports team… like I said, it’s all free and it’d really help me out

November 14th, 2016 at 6:01 pm
I served in the military.
I work in the entertainment industry.
I’m independent and have voted Republican more often than not.
I worked as a producer on the Apprentice for numerous seasons and know Mr. Trump personally.
None of you know what you’re talking about when it comes to Mr. Trump. I have witnessed far worse when it comes to his actions than what the media has shown.
I stand by Mike Evans and his freedom to protest. Whether I agree with him or not is irrelevant. Our country is founded on the freedom of the people to protest those that govern it. You don’t believe in that? Then look up the term “American Revolution” and educate yourself.
It takes courage to protest. It takes none to conform and fall in line. Those who try to oppress those with differing views are the ones who do not belong in this country.
While I’m not a liberal. I’m tired of the right wing striking down the “liberal elite”. The truth that I’m finding is that it’s the far right that wants to oppress those who think, believe, or look differently.
Explain one fact to me: we treasure education in this country. We want our kids to learn, become smarter, and go to college. Why is it then that the more educated someone was, the more likely they were to vote against Trump. This is not just in the cities but in rural counties across the nation as well. Those that went were educated the most, in every state, city, county, and town of the country, decided in larger numbers to NOT vote for Trump. Why is that?
Think before you lash out.
November 14th, 2016 at 6:13 pm
Like I posted yesterday……The NFL commissioner and the owners won’t react to this behaviour until they get hit where it hurts them most…..in the pocketbook…..if it comes to that. And anyone who believes they won’t protect their brand out of political correctness is just dreaming. Because weather some people realize it.or not…..MONEY TRUMPS IDEOLOGY
November 14th, 2016 at 6:14 pm
Crybabies. The buccaneers are a team I thought, since when is there an “I” in team it looks to me like you are a bad example for the team. And the kids that are looking up to you. Which by the way are acting like crybabies also. If you don’t like the outcome of the election learn to deal with it like a grown man. Or leave the country. I WONT GO TO ANOTHER GAME OR WATCH ONE TILL I CAN WATCH ADULTS PLAY AGAIN
November 14th, 2016 at 6:38 pm
So Tony….now you speak up with the voice of experience and a foothold in reality…and you think that cuts any ice when viewed from the perspective that Trump promises he will make America great again, bring all the Manufacturing jobs lost the last 30 years, and turn back the clock to the time when an uneducated high school grad could get a great job, great pay, retirement benefits, free HC, while working thirty or forty years with the same company? Kill joy…why did you have to drop a piece of dung in the punch bowl?
November 14th, 2016 at 7:10 pm
THIS guy is another uninformed individual. who needs a kick in the ass. WE THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.. if you don’t know why we have an Electoral College LEARN THEN APOLOGIZE. THE UNITED STATES have SPOKEN.. we do not count illegals votes. even if Obama told the illegals to go out and vote..
IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW WHY WE HAVE THE ELECTORAL COLLAGE: The Constitution is about a balance of power. It won’t allow a few (4) big state to bully small states (46). If we relied on a popular vote then California, Texas, Florida and new York would pick our presidents every time. Let California, Texas, Florida and new York do what they want at the state level. Federal law includes all the states. It’s a simple concept. AND ANOTHER THING. ANCHOR BABIES IS ILLEGAL. NOT IN THE 14TH AMENDMENT. “Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens of the United States. This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this country.”
November 14th, 2016 at 7:11 pm
about anchor babies.. they are NOT CITIZENS. you should be cut.. or you pay cut and YOU SIT THE BENCH.
November 14th, 2016 at 7:19 pm
Looking to buy a Mike Evans jersey if anyone has one they want to sell.
Thank you.
November 14th, 2016 at 9:36 pm
Thank you Tony – For your service to this country, and for your rational insight.
I’ve actually been pleading with people for months about this: When did being smart or educated become a negative in this country? We used to praise intellect. We used to focus on innovation. Progress was something to be proud of.
#MakeAmericaSmartAgain
November 14th, 2016 at 10:10 pm
I’m a season ticket member, you need to cut or release Evans or I won’t be a STM next year. Evans is a disgrace to our Flag, our Country, and our Team.
November 14th, 2016 at 11:28 pm
No STM, you wanting to strip people of their freedom is a disgrace to the flag and what our founding fathers wanted for this country. But hey, who needs rights right?
November 15th, 2016 at 2:00 am
No Rando- Although Mike Evans has the right to protest, we have the right to protest his protest. This is not about taking rights away you fool.
What it means:
If you kneel down during our National Anthem, you have zero regard for our military and this country | Yes, its still your right, but you are not saved from being rightfully challenged by your fellow Americans all around you.
The cause:
Whatever Mike Evan’s cause is/was goes out the window when you kneel for the Anthem. His cause could of been to feed the hungry, World peace, or worship Satan…. all things you have the right to do in this awesome country of ours. Start a blog, call a news conference, donate your time…
What you actually did:
Instead you took the joy right out of our team by putting on the Bucs uniform and kneeling during our Anthem of the country that protect you and your family. Your actions are saying **ck this country I give up on you old glory all while forcing your opinion on the Bucs organization with you – and the fans should just accept this and cheer you on. NOPE.
November 15th, 2016 at 2:32 am
Message to Mike Evans:
Kneeling during the National Anthem doesn’t mean what your meant it to mean (Insert whatever your cause here). I believe you simply did not know the true meaning, and simply just thought it would be a easy way to get your message out about your cause.
This is not all of your fault. I blame the Main Stream Media for pumping hate, racism, panic, lies, and violence all **cking year. Mike, I don’t believe in your specific cause, but I respect you for voicing your opinion.
Here is what to do:
Call a news conference and simply state that you have come to realize the true meaning of standing for our countries national Anthem and although your have strong feelings about your cause, looking back you feel that you probably didn’t play that exactly right.
Apologize, and make an announcement about your cause and ask people to get involved.
November 15th, 2016 at 7:14 am
Sounds like you guys need a safe space to protest all this.
November 15th, 2016 at 8:14 am
Ok, I know this has been saiid but…..HE DIDN’t EVEN VOTE AND HE HAS THE BALLS TO PROTEST??!!
November 15th, 2016 at 8:26 am
Respect for our Flag, National Anthem, Constitution and showing respect to those who have fought to defend it is not out of line for someone who enjoys all the benefits of our great country. Besides playing football and taking a multimillion dollar pay check what has he done to enhance our way of life and up hold our freedoms. Does he have a right to do so..yes….is it disrespectful …yes. My suggestion is to stay in the locker room until the pregame ceremony is over including our Nation Anthem. If you have a point of view, talk to the press or get actively involved in politics. The 2016 election is over, so get on with life.
November 15th, 2016 at 9:24 am
Oh, the irony and hypocrisy of the comments from Trump supporters who dissed Mike Evans for not standing during the National Anthem as an affront to our veterans and to them. These same “so called” outraged people supported and voted for a man for president of the US who dissed and belittled John McCain, a POW, who was beaten and tortured by the Vietnamese, and who, after being offered early release because of the position his father held in the military, refused unless the men captured before him were released as well. He was held for 5 years. The president elect also sparred with the family of a slain Muslim American hero who gave his life for his country. And so you have Mike Evans who refused to stand for the National Anthem because he abhors the election of Donald Trump, as do I, and he is bashed and debased for it. Pardon me while I hold my nose because the stench of hypocrisy is overwhelming.
P.S.: Memo to Mike Evans: If you want to effect change, the best, surefire way to do that, first and foremost, is to exercise your right to VOTE. Your vote, along with many others who didn’t bother to vote, could have made all the difference in the way this Election turned out.
November 15th, 2016 at 10:45 am
TruthBeTold- Be true to your name as I am to mine.
Who:
Americans are dissing Mike Evans – not certain groups as you describe. You try to divide just like the Main Stream Media act; America sees right through it. Want proof? Who is the President elect?
Why:
Mike Evans is being dissed because he is disrespecting what our National Anthem stands for and NOT HIS CAUSE.
Mike Evans is also being dissed because he put himself above the team by putting on the Bucs uniform and causing this distraction that we all have to deal with now.
For what:
The guy didn’t even vote
Apologize and we will respect you Mike E. Keep your cause, you are American, its your right.
November 15th, 2016 at 1:44 pm
SOFIERCE
The truth be told, Donald Trump, himself, played a major role in dividing this Country with his offensive comments and rhetoric during the entire presidential campaign, which has even spilled over, unfortunately, into our schools.
The election outcome shows me that Americans were willing to put a racist, pathological lying misogynist, who demeaned, mocked, and maligned many segments of out society, INCLUDING women, the disabled, an American hero and former POW, and the parents of of a fallen American hero, into office.
Talk about who Evans put himself above, Trump put himself above decent Americans by running the type of divisive, reprehensible campaign he ran by mocking the disabled, by maligning a decorated POW, by disrespecting the bereaved family of a Muslim American solder who gave his life for his country, and by disrespecting the women of America.
Not only did Trump NOT apologize to John McCain, even when called upon to do so by both prominent Democrat and Republican leaders, but he dug his heels in and further maligned this great hero. And, yes, sadly, this is who the American people elected to occupy the oval office for the next 4 years. I wonder how many of the people who supported Trump who are now dissing Mike Evans, called upon Trump to apologize so they could respect him, or did they ever once lose respect for him in spite of how he treated McCain and the family of Army Captain Humayun Khan who was killed in the LOD in Iraq?
November 15th, 2016 at 3:16 pm
Sorry TruthBeTold, you have been mislead…
However, Mike Evans has turned it around – you can too… just wash your brain of all the miss information, half truths, and comments & situations taken way out of content designed to inflame targeted groups against each other as a way to divide and conquer our freedoms and sell out our future.
New Message to Mike Evans:
Although I do not support your cause as explained by you, I do stand with you as a fellow American of this country and have total respect for correcting your action.
I have zero problem cheering you on once more!
November 15th, 2016 at 7:17 pm
SOFIERCE,
Trump, with his own reprehensible words and actions showed me who and what he is. My vision is 20/20, my hearing is excellent, and I don’t live in the Land of DeNial when faced with the truth about what someone did or said, especially when what that someone did or said is not hearsay and is out there for the world to hear and view for themselves, as I did.
How exactly does one take someone mocking a disabled person out of context when they watched them do it?
How exactly does one take someone saying a decorated war hero and former POW is not a hero because he was captured?
How exactly does one take someone out of context who they saw openly sparring with the parents of a war hero who gave his life for his country?
How exactly does one take a man who objectifies women and called them dogs, pigs and disgusting animals out of context?
I can’t wash my brain of all the misinformation, outright lies, vile comments, repugnant and embarrassing behavior exhibited by Trump, which, sadly, our children also watched, but I sure wish I could.

Mountains out of mole hills TBT. The point is Trump is not deliberately working to take this country down.
Let’s make sure we don’t hold anything against Mike Evans either for his little performance on National TV… The kid did make an effort to correct things and although I do not align myself with his cause as he presented it, I’m not going to make a mountain out of a mole hill for what he did.
Perhaps its time for you to do the same TBT.

What Trump did and said does not, in any manner, shape or form, equal a molehill; it’s tantamount to Mount Everest, and it’s the epitome of hypocrisy to call upon Evans to apologize and then overlook, justify, and attempt to minimize Trump maligning and disrespecting war hero John McCain and sparring with the parents of deceased war hero Captain Khan.
For the record, I had no problem with Mike Evans exercising his constitutional right to protest, so there is and never was any reason for me to hold anything against him.
It’s sad and very telling to think you believe what Trump did equates to molehills but Evans needed to apologize to gain your respect. SMH!
Peace Out!

TBT- Of course you don’t consider it a molehill when you are not comparing it to the criminal administration that has been taking this country down over the years. Evidence = People voted and Trump won. (That included a record number of military General endorsements)
Evans needed to apologize for his action; his beliefs where never in question.
Evidence = People voted by protested peacefully and Mike Evans corrected himself and re-gained the peoples respect.
Welcome to the real World.
