Home Field Disadvantage

The Den of Depression: Where paper bags have been a necessity since 2009.

Yes, we all know the Bucs are horrid at home. It’s almost to the point Joe is leery of the drive in, knowing there is a very real chance Joe will enter a morgue of a locker room afterwards.

At this point, Joe really has heard just about everything players can say after a home loss. They get so much practice at it.

To quote Linda Cohn, “in case you were wondering,” Joe will recite the ugly home statistics just to refresh Bucs fans memories. Since the dark Friday late afternoon when Chucky was jettisoned in January 2009, this franchise has won a grand total of 17 home games.

Galling beyond words.

Worse, since the day former Bucs commander Greg Schiano was canned in January 2014, the Bucs have won a formidable three home games. Three!

As Joe has stated, that’s enough for the feds to launch a RICO Act investigation. To be that lousy at home for such an extended period of time invites suspicion that someone is on the take.

Well, Jenna Laine of ESPN has information to pile on, sadly, to this dark era in Bucs history.

The Bucs have now lost six-straight at home, going back to last year, the longest streak in the NFL.

Hats off to the diehards who drop hundreds or thousands of dollars a year, and attend Bucs games, despite far more often than not enduring a kick-in-the-balls experience.

Worse, after each loss, Bucs fans then must walk the walk of shame back to their cars, pickups and tailgate postmortems, while fans of the visiting team celebrate loudly, drink Bucs fans’ alcohol and grope their women.

It starts and ends with the Glazer boys. They took over from a smart, successful businessman in their father Malcolm and have been slowly but surely running things into the ground ever since. They don’t know who to hire, when to fire, how to analyze, or how to put together a plan for success in the NFL. They’re just four idiots who happened to inherit a bunch of money from a guy who actually knew what he was doing.

This crap also happened in Indy and other places in professional sports. There should be a stipulation to owning an NFL franchise that the franchise cannot be passed on to anyone else. Upon the death or incapacitation of the owner the franchise must be put up for sale and the potential buyers thoroughly vetted as to competence. Yeah, it’s just a dream, I know.

These guys are professional smilers… just check out pics online. They know zero about sports… just check out Manchester United. It too was once a proud franchise in world sports, and is now slowly but surely being jettisoned into the sarlac pit of sports mediocrity. These guys are bums and I am sick and tired of their stupid faces. I’m a fan and have been before they came along. I want them gone. I have wanted them gone for years. They don’t know what they are doing. They’re just playing with the leftovers of their fathers money and I am more than ready to get behind a new fresh face as the owner of this once proud franchise. GO BUCS… and fire the glazers.

“the sarlac pit of sports mefiocrity…”

    Nice.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

    It is the Glazer kids.

I think they might actually care like you and I.

Although they simply don’t have a clue about running our beloved team.

Someone or something has to be held accountable.

    It is the Glazer kids.

If I were the owner, I would go to the lockerrroon and plead with the players to make it better. There is an overall feeling of”we may suck, but we are getting paid”.

There just feel is like there is a loser mentality One buc place. Schiano is a Buccaneer martyr, he saw us through Mrsa and he saw right through Josh’s freeman. All hail Schiano, the last winner of more than 3 home games in 2.5 years!

In past years we signed better free agents.Off the top of my head VJAX was
    the best recent signing.
compare that to Hardy Nickerson,Simeon Rice,Keenan Maccardle, and Joe Jurevicious pre 2004?
Failure to bring in enough quality free agents that can help team has been a problem for over ten years. Our drafting hasn’t always been that good so
at the present time we have a team that struggles to compete.
WR’s seem to be the safest bet so far. But Hardy and simeon brought a fiery attitude along with their play.
my point is that, careful study to target safe additions as well as players without injury histories. We need to kick the tires more and do better research on our free agents to get this team over the hump.

Love both Macdonald’s and Ayers attitude but how many games will we get from them. Now there is Sweezy who is yet to get on the field.Add to that George and Micheal Johnson, and Anthony Collins. If it was me,I would never
sign another free agent lineman unless they were young, injury free and had the fire in rthe belly.

  9. JM Says:

The worst part? We let Jon Robinson go and kept the Goober. JR may have drafted a different QB. Give MM Mike Evans and it would be a beaut

It’s really disheartening to see thes types of statistics time and again with this team.

  11. Bird Says:

Season ticket holder from Orlando. You can’t even give these tickets away

  12. LakeLandBuc Says:

A pathetic team like the Bucs, don’t deserve a home. The Bums should be playing sandlot football in a orange grove. If you want to see Bucs highlights, go to football follies. This is a joke of a franchise, the worst in all sports.

  13. Dave1979 Says:

Hire Tom Coughlin, put him in charge of all football operations! These guys just need to sign the checks, and leave the the all personnel decision to people who know what they are doing! I’m spending my money on a a 60 inch 4k tv ! I can watch our defense get shredded by Cutler in style, then watch Netflix in style! I’ve been a Bucs fan all my life! Can we please beat the bears and not let gutless Cutler shred us! Asking too much I know!

  14. Chris Says:

I can’t wait to see Schiano get a real head coaching gig after leading the Buckeyes defense. Than all you pantywaists that thought he was too tough on your guys McCoy and Freeman can go suck on that

  15. The Buc Realist Says:

The Pirate Ship should have sunk when they lose!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Chris Says:

If we would have gave that guy another year without Freeman , we wouldn’t be talking about 3-17 at home.

  17. Chris Says:

By the way Schiano’s home W-L = 7-9, not great, but hasn’t been matched by the next two coaches, and he had mrsa and Josh meltdown at WB

  18. Chris Says:

Oh and those that laughed at him at Rutgers , aren’t they getting beat like 77-0 now, we Buc fans deserve a part of this

  19. Doctor Stroud Says:

I may be suffering from proprioception, but the Bucs will just have to win on the road then. Last year at this time, the Bucs were 3-5 coming off a really bad loss against the Giants. The team then won 3 out of the next 4 games. After that run and a 6-6 record, a lot of us were talking about playoffs until the collapse began. The Falcons also had about the same record at the start of their season until they collapsed.

  20. Buc1987 Says:

They should hand out paper bags to the season ticket holders at every season opener.

  21. Seminole Bill Says:

It will get even uglier next Sunday with the stands half-full of Bears fans, swigging their beers and belittling the Bucs. I, for one, will not stand for it. Someone needs to put their foot down, and that foot is me. Now I could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think I have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.

    Who is with me?
