Clock Ticking On Louis Murphy
November 5th, 2016Louis Murphy’s 2016 season may just be hours from ending.
Murphy, last year’s No. 3 wide receiver who had a knee destroyed in the Capitol Collapse, was hopeful to get on the field to start this season. But that did not happen as he started 2016 on the PUP/injured reserved list. The moment Murphy was permitted to practice a few weeks ago, he had a setback.
Per NFL rules, Monday is the deadline for players on PUP/injured reserve to return to the active roster. Yesterday, Dirk Koetter’s tone was less than reassuring that Murphy will meet that deadline.
“I’m not sure on that,” Koetter said when asked if Murphy would resume practice Monday. “You’re correct on the 21-day window. I’m not really sure if he’s healthy enough to practice starting Monday. I’m not sure on that.”
This is Exhibit-A why Joe slammed his beer mug on the bar repeatedly during the offseason, begging Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht to go out and get receivers to bolster depth.
As it turned out, Joe was spot on in his concern for Murphy being able to bounce back from major knee surgery. Hell, he may not even take a snap all year.

Oh well. Savage Mike will step up to the plate and keep balling out. Everyone else will just curl up like little B’s. Aunt Geraldine you don’t even sound right talking $hit saying you are going to kill a QB. No MF says that $hit with a smile on his face. SMH More ice cream please.
November 5th, 2016 at 10:17 am
Another stupid gamble first off even if healthy bucs don’t need another useless #6 wr who is soft and injury prone second why waste time on a has been that never was when Licht could have brought in ten guys with the same garbage production that Murphy has… Not another organization in league wastes so much time on bad football players

No MF says that $hit with a smile on his face. – lmao #truestory
Now, who is the Louis Murphy that you speak of? Isn’t he the guy from the nutty professor movies?
I’m beginning to feel sad for Koetter. No team whatsoever. No offensive players, a def that can’t stop anyone in any situation. A not so special teams. No fan support. It’s a no win situation, Licht just hanging Koetter out to dry. But I bet if you really dig down the owners hold more responsibility here than anyone else.

It’s funny how we were deep at D line and RB at the beginning of the season, biggest concern was depth at LB.
November 5th, 2016 at 10:39 am
Well at least I will be able to watch my Gators win today to get that awful taste out of my mouth from Thursday night. Can’t wait for Nov 26th!!!
November 5th, 2016 at 10:39 am
EA
There was never any real depth it was False depth. Fragile three at DT is not depth. no sane person thought Martin and Jac Smith would hold up. Two of the fragile three did not even make it to week four. None of this is a surprise
November 5th, 2016 at 10:46 am
WTF?
Did I read that correctly?
Both Joes were calling me a fool when I continuously stated often injured Vincent Jackson contract was the worst in 2016. I also was ridiculed for blasting licht for signing a often injured receiver a day before kickoff
I believe your recollection is alittle off..
Both Joes were pouring that lousy JBF Licht ale on Kobe Faker for his visions and forward thinking
November 5th, 2016 at 10:50 am
Joes,
Do you guys have any intel as to what Dirk Koetter was talking about in his press conference yesterday when referring to Gerald McCoy?
My audio on my computer is not very good so I did not hear the question very well, but at around the 9:20 mark someone asked about how Gerald was dealing with the situation with his family before the game and Dirk said that the security people were aware of the situation and that Gerald was doing OK.
Then he said to ask Gerald more about it next week.
What’s up with this?
Is tmaxcon up to something?
November 5th, 2016 at 11:03 am
Dave pear
I have an alibi sir.. In all seriousness. McCoy’s house was robbed his father was injured. I wish him a speedy recovery… I’m not a mccoy fan but wish no ill will on anyone
November 5th, 2016 at 11:07 am
tmaxcon,
Thanks for clearing that up. I had not heard about the robbery.
And I was just kidding about you having any involvement.
November 5th, 2016 at 11:08 am
Thanks TMax. I was just looking for it on the internet.
November 5th, 2016 at 11:10 am
All good Dave I got a good laugh thanks

I haven’t seen my good buddy Nos Bos here for a minute. He and I have a Buccaneers Jersey bet on the Gators/Noles game this yr. The way he is playing I am going to have Nole buy me a ME13 Jersey!!! Dude got me 32.5 pts. in my Fantasy league!!
November 5th, 2016 at 12:13 pm

Coach the LOVIE out of them! 8 games to play with 6 games to win to show improvement over the last REGIME!! GO BUCS GO COLIN STEP/UP AMERICA!! DON’T BOO VOTE!
November 5th, 2016 at 1:55 pm
All the preseason hype about this team usually fade at mid season. And then come the reality, let’s plan for the draft. Let’s fill the million holes that we have, fire the coaches, fire the GM.
November 5th, 2016 at 2:11 pm
Can the empty praise of Jason Licht please end? His first year here was an utter failure aside from Evans. His second year brought us the likes of Kwon and Winston. But his third year was a complete regression. This last 2 game stretch of historic proportions speaks to our trend.
November 5th, 2016 at 2:47 pm
Agreed
3rd worst talented roster
How can a gm whose single job is to put talent onto the roster be praised with this bloated slop we have
Because of him, we are the new lovable losers
November 5th, 2016 at 2:55 pm
Everyone knows that Jason Licht is the worse GM in the NFL. He had Lovie as a scapegoat, fall guy, but now it’s all on him. The Glazers gave him complete control over personnel, to see what he really know. He have fail them, now it’s time for the Glazers to chop some heads, if they really are concerned about winning.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:18 pm
Isn’t it ticking for Sweezy too? He’s on PUP.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:20 pm
Ya bunch of hypocrites.
I was the only one stating Licht was at fault last year, and no one agreed. My, how the tables have turned.
And to think, all you guys did is put me down for it. Eat crow, suckers.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:21 pm
As I always say…time will prove me right. And it did.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:36 pm
Boy Buccaneer Browneye likes to congratule himself early and often on this site…
November 5th, 2016 at 3:47 pm
They could have taken Terrelle Pryor where they took Aguayo. They had Mrphy and Jackson with injury problems. Mike Evans has not been healthy the full season until this year. I don’t get it.

@JonBuc
It’s because people never believe me. All the flack I take, I deserve a pat on the back when I get it right 😛
November 5th, 2016 at 5:55 pm
Murphy could come back tomorrow and he’d still be just as good as he was before the injury.
Useless.
November 5th, 2016 at 5:56 pm
Buccaneer Bonzi…..Are you sure about that? I have never been on board with Licht or Koetter.
November 5th, 2016 at 6:00 pm
DallasBuc was the original Jason Licht hater.
Then came Bonzai. 1 and 2. If we’re keeping score.

Fair enough…your comments/ideas do have some merit at times…
November 5th, 2016 at 6:09 pm
We should get Brian Hartline in a Bucs uniform. I know he’s not a world beater but he’s better than anyone we have available not named Mike Evans. He’d take some pressure off of Mike and Jameis.
