Jameis Injures Knee In Garbage Time

November 3rd, 2016

koetter-glareShame on you, Dirk Koetter.

Maybe now you’ll learn to sit your most valuable players when a game is out of reach.

In multiple games this season, Koetter has tested fate, playing America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, with the game out of reach. Why?

It’s just foolish on many levels. Can their be some upside? Sure. But it’s more dangerous than valuable. It’s also good business to protect your 22-year-old QB.

Jameis was left on the field tonight down four scores more than halfway through the fourth quarter. Scrambling to get a two-point conversion, Jameis got drilled and limped off the field.

Media was advised Jameis had a knee injury.

Joe wonders if Team Glazer will exert executive privilege to make sure this nonsense doesn’t happen again.

I bet fans will be clamoring for Mike Glennon to start now smh

  2. Stevek Says:

Shame on this team for getting its ass kicked. Kowtowed tets roasted for being conservative and now he gets roasted form being aggressive. Shame on these players. Some don’t have talent/heart.

  3. MadMax Says:

    Draft a Coach!!!

  5. Chrisco4BUCS Says:

It’s a real mess now, I will never give up up but GD man, this team really is TURRIBLE. The curse lives on from JG, I’ve been to RayJay a lot since Gruden was canned and my record is 2-10, damn dumpster fire

  6. Stevek Says:

Shame on Jameis for taking that hit and running like a mad man. Shame on joe for spinning it into a hate piece on Koetter. Shame on our defense for sucking ass on John lynch night.

  7. Chrisco4BUCS Says:

And by the way I live in NC

  8. Stevek Says:

Maybe Jameis shouldn’t play if he’s going to take needless hits. Throw the dam. Ball away or get down. You’re not a running back.

  9. Ray Rice Says:

Sorry Messiah but you are Little Leftwich from now on. SMH!

  10. buccfan305 Says:

Our franchise is in disarray…..gonna be a while before we see a winner….we need alot more than just Jameis to start winning games.

    Go Bucs!!!!

  11. Pit Says:

i am kind of happy not for the injury but maybe this will change smthng.
Jameis take your time to come back dont rush we are not going anywhere lets see if we can find a good DE in this draft

  12. RumRunner Says:

Lol. Why do people even show up? Is there massive ticket giveaways every week? If your spending money on this please stop, it’s the only thing the Glazers understand. Uncompetitive bs

  13. Tee in Dallas Says:

Jameis should not have been in the game at all!!! This is shyness you have a backup QB.

  14. Rojas Says:

Would love Myles Garrett or Jonathan Allen.

  15. passthebuc Says:

This team for some reason has never been able to judge talent.
    Nor, can they coach talant.
Winston per Joe, America’a QB has too slow of a release. He waits till the receiver has made his move or at the end of the move to make the throw. His accuracy is poor, his timing is poor, He cannot run and cannot scramble. They will stick with him for 6 more years and he will move on as they draft their next poor choice. Sorry Joe, only the best Tuna get to be starkist.

  16. BucsFan90 Says:

Everyone knows Koetter is a horrible head coach. But Evans and Winston wouldn’t be getting killed out there if it weren’t for Jason Licht’s stupidity and ineptitude. F*** both of them

  17. JM Says:

    Tried for Mariota

  18. JM Says:

    Trade*

  19. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Winston didn’t play well, but what about that one handed catch by Evans while he was getting drilled! Bucs play of the year!

  20. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk is garbage but there’s nothing wrong with keeping Winston in in that situation. He’s a young QB, let him play even in a blowout. He’s been remarkably durable his entire career as well.

  21. Ana Says:

No more cannons until we win at home😡Another dismal performance by the defense and on John Lynch night too!

  22. Gigglypuff Says:

@Pit i agree. Let Jamies sit and let Glennon have a chance. It might light a fire if winston has some competition. I really like JW but its pretty evident hes not very good. He wore Evans out. Hes got so much to learn and Koetter aint got time to bring him along he trying to keep from being a one and done coach.

  23. Rod Munch Says:

The defense gives up 650 yards last week, 40 points this week, Winston in that time has 450 yards and 5 TDs with no INTs and you dolts are saying Winston is the issue. Seriously do the world a favor and go slip in a puddle of AIDS.

    God bless.

  24. JM Says:

The defense gave up 650 yards because our offense couldn’t stay on the firld

  25. Since 76 Says:

Here ye NFL gurus. If the bucs defense forces a just 3 punts, the bucs win. Why are you railing on Jaimis?

  26. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Rod, the fact that Winston didn’t have any picks doesn’t mean he played well. He did lose a fumble when we were driving, however. Bottom line is, if the O could sustain drives, the defense wouldn’t be on the field as much. The defense sucks, no doubt, but Winston isn’t helping matters much. He needs to get better, and I’m a Winston fan.the truth does hurt, and I’m living it.

  27. P'cola Buc Says:

We do not have the talent to compete. No matter how great the coaching can be we just don’t have the guns. Somehow we need to draft some stand out talent. Mr Licht has his work cut out for him… It’s as simple as that!

  28. Tee in Dallas Says:

You can’t be serious? Our receivers don’t get any separation. We have no running game. But it is all Jameis Winston’s fault?! He has not weapons but Evans. He can’t scramble. He is not Mariota but he did a pretty darn good job throwing on the run.

  29. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Winston made a lot of nice plays tonight, but eff’ed up enough to to counteract them.

  30. Not there yet Says:

This is why no one from media should be associated with football operations. The game was not out of reach and scores can happen quickly lol not with this team but honoring john lynch and playing at home in front of loyal paying customers you don’t pull the franchise player. Shame on Dirk? How about shame on demar dotson for getting bull rushed by a dude that could play linebacker he’s so light. Dotson and Donovan smith were pure garbage tonight

  31. DelawareBucsfan Says:

Y’all are some real trolls talking about Jameis. Get real man. We know the REAL reason why you ride Jameis so much.

  32. Poor Glennon Says:

Rod first of all aaaahahahahah. Of course there has to be some “it’s not #3” stats out there. Winston looked pissed because Glennon was eating up his garbage time stats. #3 stat line looked good 3 TD’s. But his accuracy issues from half time onto when the game was out of reach. Hurt

  33. DelawareBucsfan Says:

Winston had 3 tds but Winston didn’t play well. Give me a break. Nothing he could have done would please you.

  34. DelawareBucsfan Says:

Yeah keep on. Change your name again. And how about one more time? Haha what a joke

  35. D-Rome Says:

The problems that plague the Bucs starts on the sidelines and ends at the front office.

  36. R.O. Says:

    OMG… Matt Ryan wasn’t yanked.

  37. Trubucfan22 Says:

Passthebuc, everything you said about Winston is wrong. Except the long wind up. By NFL standards it is on the slow side. But he is always throwing before WRs make their break. Nearly every pass is of that nature. You must not pay attention. He can’t run or scramble? You really must not pay attention. Sure he isn’t a speed demon. But he can move well in and out of the pocket and scrambles with the best of the of them.

Winston’s biggest problem that I’ve noticed, is he is always waiting for the deep ball to open up. I do not see Winston going to his check very often. He is also too emotionally charged. He wants to win so bad that he tries to do to much. Sometimes it works, in college it worked to perfection. But in the NFL, defenses are too good, and the weapons Winston has right now are far worse than he had in College.

I am a glennon hater, but the way he was able to be calm and hit his checkdowns very early, and move down the field. Winston just looks like he is pressing late in games and it is showing in the results. Of course the game is far lost well before the fourth quarter usually so that doesn’t make too much of difference in the outcomes of our games. But as a developmental point, Winston needs to just calm down and take what the defense gives him. Winston refuses to go to his checkdown and would rather force a 20 yard pass down field against tight defense. I love that he is willing to risk it all for a big play. But right now he needs to learn to take the easy road, and not make life so difficult for himself. Take the easy play.

Captain checkdown, I mean mike glennon, has not rubbed off on Winston at all. Glennon only knows checkdowns, while Winston avoids them like the plague. There needs to be a middle ground. I do hope Winston finds it.

  38. BucsFan90 Says:

Anybody blaming the loss on Jameis is an idiot plain and simple. He threw 62% for 261 yards and 3 td’s. He’s the best quarterback we’ve ever had and now he’s likely done for the season smh

  39. dis Says:

You are all idiots. Glennon was playing their 2nd string defense. You do not deserve Winston. I hope he leaves you like the trash fans you are!!

  40. BucsFan90 Says:

And that’s with just one WR

  41. Poor Glennon Says:

I think he had 175 yards and 2 TD when they missed that 4th down. Rendering all stats after “garbage stats. Glennon is my guy and his stats are garbage as well.

  42. DanTheBucsFan Says:

I’m ashamed that you all call yourselves Buc fans. You all clamor around pointing fingers at coaches, schemes, Jaboo, GMC, Obama, G. W. Bush…. you sheeple are too blind to see that it’s an NFL conspiracy and the true enemy is the refs! How else can you explain ME not getting that call on the helmet to face hit, or the many times ME was hit from behind long before the ball got there, what about the JJ “completion” in the 3rd qtr that everybody else in the world saw, how about that guy that slammed into JW after he fell down and conceded that he was down?

  43. mike10 Says:

    I disagree.

If he pulled Jameis with 10 min to go, you’d have an article on here about Koetter giving up on his team and not playing to win…

National TV, a divisional game, showing no tempo and obviously needing as much practice as possible – Jaboo plays

  44. FortMyersDave Says:

Joe, I think team Glazer used “executive privilege” when they hired Koetter in the first place. Right now I really doubt if there is one competent person at One Buc from the owners, GM, scouts and talent evaluators, to the HC and his coordinators. It has been this way since Chuckie got canned and Malcolm G had the stroke. This franchise is lost and it is tough to watch them lose at home, game after game on the way to a 4-12 or so season.

  45. BucFan20 Says:

So they lost like we predicted they would. And it was another Blow Out! Glad I did not watch the clown show.

  46. DoNUTS Says:

    Sorry JW protectors…..

#3 needs to learn when to get down, when the game is in hand you dont expose yourself like HE did. This injury is his fault 100%. The coach does not play so blaming Koetter is BS. The whole take him out of the game early argument is bunk…this is not college…and rarely does an NFL QB leave the game early. Go look at the facts.

What he needs to do is learn to play smart. We are still great fans of the team even when the truth is spoken about an individual. #3 has a long way to go with his play. Its that simple.

  47. Wausa Says:

THank you for saying that Rod Munch.

    We have some dumb fans

Never put it past the Joes to play both sides of the fence. If Koetter plays Jameis, he’s a fool for risking the [alleged] Franchise QB in an out of reach game. If Koetter pulls Jameis, he’s a quitter and sends the message to the team that he doesn’t play to win. Either way, the Joes feign outrage to get paid.

  49. Tomcin Says:

Fire Licht. Hire McKay. Fire Koetter. Rehire Gruden. Nuff said. A guy can dream can’t he? If only dreams came true.
