“Assaulted”
October 26th, 2016Reading the verb “assaulted,” Joe usually thinks of the helmet-wielding, cabbie-slugging, gun-totin’ ways of Aqib Talib.
But from the keyboard of Wes Huber of the PFF tribe, he invoked this verb with America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, in a good way.
Huber suggested Jameis “assaulted” the 49ers’ pass defense and is growing as a quarterback.
Jameis Winston simply assaulted the 49ers’ secondary when [it decided] not to blitz (13-of-16, 144 yards and three touchdowns).
Well now, this tells Joe that Jameis is getting better. Earlier this year, Joe read a spreadsheet that showed blitzes, specifically five-man rushes, don’t work on Jameis, that he had his best numbers against blitzes, which is rare for young quarterbacks.
If Jameis is now rifling through defenses when they are not blitzing, rhen Joe believes Jameis is about the turn the corner.
Of course, it could be that San Francisco is just that bad.

#3 looked a lot more accurate and seemed to make better decisions with a couple of exceptions. Looks like he made great use of the bye.
Imagine…a kid comes into the league at 21 and now 22 and 22 games into his NFL career is showing progress. I think we’re just seeing what most of us expected….especially 87!!!! LMAO

I expect jameis to use the 9ers game as a confidence booster.im predicting a shoot out on sunday with tampa pulling ahead in a last minute TD.38-31 Tampa!Rodgers scores twice,Evans twice, and an Aguayo FG.110+yds for Rodgers,150yds Evans, Jameis will have 2 TDs and over 230yds. Our CBs make 2 game defining plays,we sack Carr 3 times.#GO BUCS!

The Run game is working, also playing a softer schedule at this point helps as even our unknown WR’s can get open!!!
Amazing that I have not seen but 1 article about the Defense since the Bucs win last Sunday!!! Joebucsfan, all offensive coverage all the time!!!!

the big difference is a running threat. we had one in our 3 wins and lacked one in our 3 losses. as long as Jameis has a credible threat to turn around and hand off to, we won’t see him look as lost as he did in that Broncos or Cardinals game the rest of the year.
October 26th, 2016 at 9:39 am
Yup Jameis has always struggled when there was no running threat. It was no different last year the couple of games where Dougie struggled.

He’s getting better every day Joe.
Some of us can’t see it yet.
Some refuse to.
I’m not one of the us of course.

BCoburn, every QB struggles without a viable run game. If you’ve got no play action to draw in the backers and safeties, it tough sleddin’. You ain’t fooling anyone. Football 101.

Wr2 shep opening the fieldup?
Its all about weapons for qbs to throw
Most people think peyton manning is the most prolific qb
He had
Marvin harrison and reggie wayne outside wr.
Dallas clark te
Edge james rb
Lol peyton still couldnt beat bellichick until polian had to get 1 of the best slot wr at the time brandon stokley to finally beat bellichick
All jameis has is a top 15 wr me13 who is much improved but doesnt know the meaning of run after catch

I think Jameis will always be that guy with a couple wtf plays per game. Not because he id careless, but because hes always looking for the big play. What damage he does is canceled out by all of the positive plays he makes happen. Like that td pass to Evans where he scrabbled back to the line of scrimage and put the ball in his chest. That could have very well ended in a sack or a short gain if he chose to run.

It’s good he did what he was supposed to do against a bad D. But the Oline needs to step up against the stronger D’s then JW3 will.
October 26th, 2016 at 10:31 am
Chucklehead…Bingo!
It’s what gunslingers do.
WTF plays are going to be the norm. We will see them.
We’ll also rarely see Jameis throw the ball away. Too much fight in him.
Take lots of good with a few bad here and there. I’ll deal with it.

I wanted the Bucs to draft Carr and he’s proven to be everything for the Raiders I thought he could be for the Bucs. He is a legit All-Pro QB, living here in SoCal I see all his games, the kid can drop the ball in a bucket 25 yards down field without knocking the bucket over. The touch he puts on his passes is something few QBs have, think of a young Drew Brees but better. Or for those old enough to remember, he looks like a Steve Young clone (when he was with SF).
This will be a tough game to win, no doubt the defense will have it’s biggest test of the year. A victory Sunday will certainly show all the pundits running those idiotic power polls that the Bucs have turned the corner and are on the rise. Go Bucs!!

we have to start winning at home…period….
I think we match up well vs the raiders….our cb’s are playing well and the front four is playing solid….they have a slight advantage with te vs. safeties….I think we should blitz carr heavy…keep him guessing…bring pressure from the outside as well as up the gut….run the ball and control the clock….should be a fun one….28-24 BUCS!!…GO BUCS!!!!
