No McCoy, Martin Or Ayers Seen At Practice

October 17th, 2016

McCoyright2Rough morning for the optimists.

Joe’s eyes on the early part of Bucs practice did not catch injured Gerald McCoy, Robert Ayers and Doug Martin on the practice field with their teammates.

It’s early in the week and this is a bonus underwear football practice because of the bye week. Typically, the real first practice of the week is Wednesday — in pads.

Good news. Louis Murphy is back practicing, but no sign of J.R. Sweezy. But were on the physically unable to perform list to start the season but eligible to practice as early as this week..

Joe will have more on Murphy shortly.

    @Joe

Any word or comment on LVD54 injured shoulder that he has had for the last several weeks???

  2. Louis Friend Says:

It doesn’t really matter which players on the D-line they don’t generate pressure with. I’m sure the UDFA’s will be as capable of consistently not getting to the QB as the Bucs were with Ayers and McCoy playing.

  3. The Buc Realist Says:

I can’t believe that I am actually relieved that Louis Murphy might play a couple of games this year!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

  4. tmaxcon Says:

    The Buc Realist

please seek immediate medical treatment. i wish the best for you sir!

  5. Ed Says:

Half of the payroll, same group every season.

  6. Chris Says:

Damn that’s a bad calf strain . Hrrm, ummm, yeah

  7. Chris Says:

Obviously our backup d line is better than New Orleans starters, now our starting d line, I’m not sure if there better than New Orleans starters

  8. tmaxcon Says:

    Chris

unfortunately you are correct… those calf strains can be a mofo…. hopefully it has not caused any issues with movie night or ice cream Tuesdays.

    Tmax strikes again

  10. Bucsfanman Says:

Come on guys! We need you healthy and playing!

  11. DB55 Says:

I’m just here so I don’t get fined.

  12. Tampa Tony Says:

Maybe he should’ve prayed for his health over a awful kicker making a kick.

  13. 813bucboi Says:

I think lou murph will give us a boast….GO BUCS!!!

  14. WutdaBUCisthis? Says:

    Tmax
At this point, who would you have opposite of Evans? Adam IS our slot wr, so… Jackson or Murphy

  15. DB55 Says:

    What da

    Shep over both.

  16. tmaxcon Says:

    what da

why are those the only two options. there are wr on the street with more skills than either jackson or evans at this stage. I’d rather take a chance on some young kid with potential. if he does not work out so what you it’s not like either of those two guys are your answer for next season. bring in tryout players see if someone slipped through the cracks all better options than wasting time with a known commodity that is not any good nor has any upside.

  17. Patrickbucs Says:

More people on the street that Evans? Might be the dumbest statement I’ve read or heard in a long, long time.

  18. Patrickbucs Says:

Skills I meant, Jackson I would agree with.

  19. unbelievable Says:

See Tmax, that is where you lose me…

WRs walking the street with more skills that Evans at this stage? You must be smoking some good sh!t this morning my friend.

  20. tmaxcon Says:

    unbelievable

Obviously it was a type o should have read Murphy not Evans

  21. WutdaBUCisthis? Says:

I agree let somebody else try. Problem is, there’s no chemistry with #3.
The question I pose to you… And all who call for players to be cut, are you trying to win NOW or rebuilding the team. Can’t have it both ways. Not at this point. They are who we thought they were. A young team growing, together…I don’t care who’s on the field for us, just win
I believe we as fans should support whoever wears the pewter.

In order of who makes the biggest difference, I’d like:

    1) Ayers
    2) Martin
    3) Softee93/Prayer coordinator

This next game is huge, I know, they all are, but to go out west and win and be 3-3 will give us the confidence to have a strong second half of the season.
A blowout lose now and I think mentally we’ll be mentally fragile.

I guess we can always smile and pray right?

  23. buc15 Says:

Why would Sweezy return when he can sit back & collect that Sweezy money

  24. Brandon from Philly Says:

I hate to say it but Sweezy is the 4th highest paid player on our team, with $9.5 million and he has yet to wear his Bucs jersey. He makes more then Doug and Doug had to earn his contract. Time to cut our losses with him in the offseason, even if he plays good later this season. I say draft as much of our needs as possible. Younger guys in salary cap friendly contracts with a huge upside is worth it. It’s way better then overpaying a guy who may never live up to the money you give him.

  25. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Damn this town has a lot of haters. It’s the NFL! All you bad asses berate out guys when they get injured. I say eff all of you. This is a man’s game and injuries are part of it. Your negativity makes you sound like a-holes.

  26. Louis Friend Says:

TouchDownTampaBay – It’s not that they hate anyone, it’s just recognition that this team sucks. Might as well blame someone. Not sure how long you’ve been a fan, but 32 of the 40 years I’ve been following them they’ve been crap. The odds are pretty damn good this year will be 33 out of 41.

  27. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

I have been a fan since the beginning when I was a 5 year old kid. They may suck again but calling guys soft for being injured pisses me off. Many of these guys will be hobbled for the rest of their lives and some may have an even worse fate.nobody that plays in the NFL is soft.
