Did Jason Licht Cry?

October 11th, 2016
Secure.

Did he get emotional?

No, Joe is not suggesting Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht bawled in sorrow because he could not attend the debut pouring of Jason Light Ale last night in Clearwater.

But Jenna Laine of ESPN cut a video report last night from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte claiming Bucs suits were so relieved by Roberto Aguayo kicking the game-winning field goal to beat the Stinking Panthers they got choked up.

You can see the report for yourself below. Joe knows that on road games, Licht and his kitchen cabinet are assigned seats in the press box and, sometimes, a suit or two (not named “Glazer”) from the business side are also sometimes seated there.

Joe is just assuming, since Laine did not detail who cried, that with all the hell Licht has taken for drafting Aguayo, he may well have been overcome with emotion. Either that, or he really was pining for a cold Jason Light Ale.

NFL GM Jason Licht is a complex man, So I bet it is both JOE!!!!!!! Also, Bucs SuperBowl winning Head Coach Jon Gruden told a great story last night about the first year with K sebastian janikowski, and how many times he wanted to Cut him in his first year!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!

  2. KingBuc17 Says:

I was calling for his head also last night, I would still like to know who he thought would have moved in front of our early third to pick up Agauyo? We needed that extra pick to get a D lineman. I am so happy Roberto made that clutch kick! Probably saved his job. Hope he doesn’t miss another all year. Besides J. Rodgers phenomenal night running the ball, he ws so instrumental on several blitz pick ups that I think we should use he an Doug together like Atlanta is doing with their two backs… creating mismatches for teams like Denver’s D…. COPY THAT FORMULA….

  3. PRBucFan Says:

I really hope that that kick does not excuse his TERRIBLE kicking up to this point.

If he has another awful kicking game, at the very least a backup plan must be brought in. Can’t keep making excuses for this kid. Hell someone should be brought in now just in case imo.

    @joe

Where is the Brent Grimes article?? When he gives up tds I’m on him. So when he saved the Bucs season last night I got to give it up to the kid.

He came off his flat responsibility and just waited for Anderson to throw it to Olson and picked it off. It’s like he and Kwon was the only ones with football IQ last night because the play before the half was big too.

  5. Bird Says:

There is no cry crying in football. Except when you are a bucs fan. Needed every one of those turnovers to win the game. Rodgers clearly game MVP. It was difficult to watch but the guys fought, especially without the entire defensive line. Need guys healthy now after the bye week!

  6. Doctor Stroud Says:

The Bucs won! All is right in the world…at least until the next loss.

Realist grudens story on sebass was awesome, pretty sure koetter has same salty attitude towards his kicker

  8. DallasBuc Says:

    Yuck

  9. Kobe Faker Says:

Jason gump is a clueless hack. We need a real GM to build this team

Great win but i never seen coaching like that ever in my life. Koetter trying to run the time out like a scared bi@tch because he didnt know what to call and rivera trying to force koetter to call a play to win…unbelivable

I thought i was watching porn…so much virginia

    Dont ban dallasbuc or me

Anytime you have a chance to draft the greatest extra point kicker in ncaa history, you have to do it no matter how many holes you need to fill and no matter that kickers are mostly the same and can be found anywhere. – i’m pretty sure that was his quote after the draft.

  11. Tampa Tony Says:

Licht is use to making Bucs fans cry with this awful roster so maybe those were tears of regret for reaching on a kicker

  12. DallasBuc Says:

Would Belichek keep AguaOh,no on the roster? Even Free-pass Licht would say hell no if he drank enough JBF Jason Licht Kool Ale and thought no one was listening but fevered egos being what they are…amirite?

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

Jason Liar has not cried enough yet. Lookkayear, I only got a C in Math during college. But I got a B in statistics. Doesn’t 2-3 mean you are still under 500? And the further deduction says if you are under 500..you suck!! So yes, our Bucs showed heart in Carolina. But we are still a below average team. Deeyham…Am I brilliant or what?

  14. ndog Says:

So Kobe lets review, interception in the endzone by Grimes (a free agent signed by Licht) and deflected pass by VH3 that resulted in a pick (a draft pick by Licht) a interception by Daryl Smith ( a free agent signed by Licht) 100 plus yards by a guy signed off the street ( a free agent signed by Licht) an dline that was using all back ups (all brought in by Licht) a kicker that made a game winning kick on Monday Football on the road against the NFC champs (drafted by Licht) Man your right this guys is clueless. Wow do you even watch the games?

  15. ElioT Says:

    He should be crying!

Many players stepped up in key positions that he didn’t address this offseason and saved his ass!!!

Don’t get me started on that f**king kicker. We shouldn’t have to pray to baby Jesus in order for this 2nd Rd pick to make 50% of his kicks.

Just wait until the Bucs are down by 2pts with the game on the line. That’s the real game winner/loser scenario.

So pissed at the lack of talent and depth on this team.

jason licht is a horrible GM….period

  18. "America's Commenter" Says:

Maybe he saw the contract he gave J.R. Sweezy?

  19. Tom S. Says:

All this said, Licht is still a shade better than Dominik. Sure Dominik was never dumb enough to trade up for a head case of a kicker in the second round. But in sheer volume Dominik’s mistakes and lack of good players over 5 years outweigh some awful decisions on Licht’s part. But Licht is doing his best to catch up.

  20. Tom S. Says:

I used to think giving up the right to draft Sheldon Richardson/Tyler Eifert, a 4th round pick and 16 million dollars for one year of Darelle Revis when Brent Grimes, Aquib Talib and DRC were all signing one-year 5-6 million dollar prove-it deals was the worst move in modern Bucs history. But now, frankly the Augayo pick by Licht has Dominik beat.
