The Cowering Offense

October 2nd, 2016
Offense crapped in their pants.

Offense crapped in their pants.

The Bucs were still in the game, down 10 points at halftime.

Despite a litany of injuries the Bucs defense was playing tough. Only thing needed was some offense.

Charles Sims couldn’t break out of a wet paper bag. America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, couldn’t complete a handshake.

The pass blocking of the offensive line, before today a superior strength of the team, collapsed.

With the Bucs still in the game and needing a score in the third quarter, all they needed was a score, any score (no, not with a cheerleader).

So what did the Bucs do? They had a total of negative-four yards offense in the third quarter. Negative-four!

What happened to the offensive guru of a head coach/playcaller the Bucs have?

I don’t see the players quitting either. They are just not good enough. Especially the offensive line.

  2. BennyBucs Says:

Mark my words, they’ll quit on koetter before the end of the season.

  3. BucfaninMi Says:

This team will be lucky if they win four more games.

  4. tmaxcon Says:

The bucs were thoroughly beaten mentally and physically today. Koetter raised the white flag. I have confidence in koetter and Jameis but they both have had a bad couple of weeks

  5. Kobe Faker Says:

Hc and playcalling too much for him

    Give the playcalling to monken

Anybody with eyes know jacquizz should get most of the carries between the tackes except this stubborn fool

  6. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Joe the offensive line was never that good. If you want to see a “superior” line rewatch this game sometime and pay attention to the guys in orange and blue when they are on defense

  7. Pit Says:

Do you guys think it will be us or the Browns getting the first round pick?

  8. Mojiska Says:

Geeze, look at the first 5 games. 3 of our opponents were playing in the conference championship games. Rough begenning of the schedule for sure, but this was a known going into the season. Lots of injuries.

  9. Architek Says:

    Tampa Bay Browns.

  10. iamkingsu Says:

We need to build an o line

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

My confidence in the Tampa Bay Bucs extends as far as the games they have won. well..1-3 says you suck..to holy hell and beyond! You are what your record says you are. How come Koetter is not smiling like he was last year?

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

“It was really Lovie who wanted to draft jameis winston. I wanted to trade the pick because i knew carson wentz was a winner. The first time i seen carson wentz tackle that linebacker after a interception i knew he had the skillset of a franchise quarterback”

    Jason licht

  13. LifeOfABucFan Says:

The interceptions by Jameis are the ones raising my blood pressure…

  14. Jeffbuc Says:

And with the 4th pick in the 2017 draft the bucs select Jim Harbaugh head coach Michigan Wolverines. With the second pick the buccaneers trade Jameis Winston to Cleveland Browns For
    Mike Glennon and josh Gordon.

  15. crazy Says:

Bigplay-itis is killing the team. There’s just no margin for error when you depend on low-percentage plays on down after down after down.

  16. Kobe Faker Says:

    The video boards looked nice

  17. Sell this team to me Says:

@JoeBucsFan we seriously should go half and half to purhase this team from the glazer family. Fans want a winning culture so let us give Tampa what they want.

  18. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “Despite a litany of injuries the Bucs defense was playing tough. Only thing needed was some offense.” Perfect summation Joe … almost. DLine & LBs played lights out, especially considering the injuries. CBs & Safeties left me shaking my head too many times though they played so soft. On far too many plays looked like secondary was in a twilight zone between man-to-man and zone coverages. Despite that though, when our offense keeps turning the ball over and has close to zero run game, the result is bound to be easily predictable.

  19. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Denver is arguably the best defense in the league. They are the defending Super Bowl Champs. We are surely not Super Bowl contenders. The Broncos are.

But it seems to me that #3 has to jump under the bus and let the team back it up over him. He threaded a few beauties as well but he’s simply not protecting the football!!!

This game is about our NFL QB throwing two picks at the start of the game. I’m not giving up on #3 by any stretch. But today he seemed to regress to the first part of last year.

You simply cannot be deemed a competent NFL QB if you are unable to protect the ball…job #1.

Leave it to me to pour on some optimism. Yes, we might lose at Carolina Monday night but then again we might not. Then we have the bye week. Injured playees return, more practice and rest. Then we get to the easier part of the schedule. NO – twice, Atl – again, Chicago, San Fran. Very winable games with all starters returned. Admittadly when you all saw the schedule wasnt 1-4 or 2-5 by the bye week not the likely record? We can even this up and be on the plus side by Thanksgiving…pass the potatoes

  21. Mike Johnson Says:

Thanks for the laughs guys..The viseo boaed looks nice..Thats a good one. AND
the tampa Bay Browns. Gotta laugh folks..to keep from crying.

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I have a suggestion……how about let’s punt on 3rd down and long……we would avoid sacks & interceptions and RFLs…..
    In Anger I trust!!!

  23. Brent bull/buc Says:

Dk poor job low pct offensive plays no got short passing to combat pass rush.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

-4 yards but they didn’t turn the ball over, you know like they did in the 1st quarter, and as we know from all the temporarily unemployed headcoaches here if you don’t turn the ball over you win. So Dirk’s halftime adjustments were to tell Winston not to make plays, to throw it only if someone is open – and as you can see no one is open, just like all game, so he got sacked and then sacked some more – but he didn’t turn the ball over.

  25. Wes Says:

    3rd week straight

  26. America's Commenter Says:

It’s not even Columbus Day and the Bucs have imploded again and we’re all starting to dream of striking gold in the draft.

Sports franchises either win or lose from the top. The Bucs are going nowhere under the tutelage of the Glazer boys. Wake me when the sell the team.

It’s time to switch our focus to a properly run organization, the Tampa Bay Lightning! Opening Night is October 13 vs the Detroit Red Wings.
