Gerald McCoy walked off here in the second quarter with a left calf injury and did not return against the Broncos
Sure, the Bucs lost today’s game, but they also lost the guts of their defense.
Gerald McCoy was ousted with a second-quarter left calf injury. He limped to the sideline, made lots of stressed out faces, got plenty of treatment on a trainer’s table and limped to the tunnel. Video below.
In the short term, Akeem Spence and Clinton McDonald stepped up well in his absence, but a long-term McCoy loss would be a disaster. Perhaps Joe should say more of a disaster than this 1-3 start has brought.
Noah Spence (shoulder) and Brandon Myers (hip) joined McCoy as Bucs lost for the day in the first half. Throw in the injury woes of Robert Ayers, Luke Stocker, Jacquies Smith and Doug Martin, and Dirk Koetter has had some crappy luck as a first-year head coach.

He was playing very well too. Injuries are the story of his career though.

How is McCoy a superstar? He is one of the players that need to go. Our def will probablly play better without him.

Defense actually looked decent, MacDonald is being the beast he was in Seattle.
DBs still getting burned, but, take away the 3scores off turnovers, it’s a 10-7 game. McCoy is most definitely a superstar, just ask the guys he lines up against.

McCoy and Martin are potato chips. Get rid of them along with Conte, LB Smith, VJax and most of the Dline. Pathetic year in and year out no matter the HC. McCoy and David have NEVER been superstars, just serviceable on terrible teams. Winston is much worse than Carr, Mariota, Prescott and yes, Case Keenam and today’s Bronco QBs. He’s an interception disguised as a football player. Sadly, they’re not many good players on the roster, no depth and an incompetent GM. Other than that, Bucs are in good shape for 3-13.

I don’t hate gmc I just think he is extremely overrated and definitely nowhere near top 5 dt. His lost hurt no doubt but the reason bucs are losing is my guy Jameis tossing picks. In Jameis defense he needs more weapons than Evans.

OK Tmax……Glad we are still all good. And glad that we Both see that JW is lacking the last couple games. GMC however has Perenially been voted a top 5 DT by his PEERs let alone the AP. Now we were 7 to 7 and the Defense looked Capable. Then GMC went down and we are losing by 20 points. Give me a bunch of other reasons please because I am interested

Martin is soft, GMC is soft, Stocker is soft, ASJ was soft, Ayers is soft, Jack Smith is soft, George Johnson is soft, Sweezy is soft, Noah Spence is soft, Murphy is soft. Shorts is soft (got hurt on his first play)

Chris Conte is a scapegoat here IMO. My DVY tells me McDougle is our biggest liability so far other than JW’s decision making.

GMC not a superstar. HE’S NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! He has respect in the league which will hopefully get us more in a trade next year. If he can get double digit sacks without getting double digit injuries this year I might change my mind.

It’s easy to get injured, when you are being tossed around like a RAG DOLL. That’s why we have so MANY injuries, teams toss us around. I wish the coaches would coach the Lovie INTO these soft ass players.
